Actually this weapon upgrade tree for your guns allows you to have more customization since attachments and gun appearances are not what gives your gun stats.

Actually the answer is quite simple. Through out the course of the game, different battles will be available, I don't actually know if it will be temporary, or if you can play any map you want, but I do know that there will be a story aspect, where for half-a-year or so it will go through ww2 like a campaign in multiplayer. As for dlc, there isn't going to be any.
About the tanks: I think that heavier armored tanks with a stronger gun should be strong, but not be that good against infantry with the main cannon. This can be achieved with slow turret turn times, basically discouraging close range engagements. The part where they should be good is against other tanks and buildings. The lighter, faster tanks should be good against infantry but be relatively easy to be taken out if the driver isn't careful enough, and not be that powerful against other tanks.
In BF1 especially the heavier tanks were relatively good against infantry. The driver had a cannon and a machine gun, then there were machine guns all around the tank, some tanks even had one or two cannons that were able to shoot both shells and shotgun-like anti-infantry stuff that was extremely powerful.

When they showed the soldier visibility test, the character model changed with each screen-wipe. It went from the already well-known wacky one to a bit more grounded one. *Toned-down customization confirmed?*

I don't know if you noticed but on other platforms and in certain areas you can't see anything. Because cosmetics in this game are not historically accurate. The clothes are ridiculous, so with 1 glance we can't tell who is who.
I don't get it. People are too blind or too used to 3d spotting that they can't see soldiers on their screen. I played on High settings not sure if on ultra the textures are really hard to see but I did not have any problems with visibility. What I love is that I can run away and keep my head down without flying icons on my head and could easily flank enemies. Just get gud. This mechanic and visibility is fine. An you can see your teammates with icons on top.

They even admit their own reflections, colours, and shadows were wack. They said it was pretty broken. You can see the outside world on the inside floors of the White House (B Flag)...

I agree it doesn't look very good why have beautiful scenery if it's going to be obscured by a mono tone wash of subtle fog. And I didn't really have too much problem seeing enemies to begin with.. granted it's a lot harder without the spotting but I like it that way
I think it's going to be similar to view range in other games, like distant items not being fully rendered outside of 100ft etc. I had more issues with super dark areas like the stairs in some buildings are players would pretty much completely blend in with shadows. Even if I was only 10 ft away.
infantry combat is what is fun for me. Getting killed by vehicles over and over as an infantry man isnt fun. There shouldnt be a million tanks; it isnt Tankfield, they should be part of the battle without being everything.
Casuals get wrecked by vehicles so they are restricting how many are in this game, their whole goal is to get as many people to buy the game, they designed it to be casual friendly.

Same!!!! They don't need to remaster BF3, I've played it recently and it seriously is fine, if not more than fine to play now. It's better than recent cod games graphically haha. If they skinned it and just enhanced everything up a little with the new frostbite engine that game would be insane! I think the next game will be in the future like BF 2142 which I loved, it wasn't crazy with lasers or anything and was just hectic.

There's a really easy way to tweak attrition, when you're playing as a medic (as default) when you press 'n' hold 5 you can every time get a med pack to heal yourself to 100% health, but what if EVERY soldier had 1 ammo pack that refills you to full ammo? (or at least refills one magazine clip worth of bullets) Of course, you might say there's a lot of potential and/or not good, but I think when players *think* that attrition doesn't feel balanced, why not give 1 ammo pack for everyone when they spawn? Soldiers have PLENTY of space on their outfits
Still ain't buying this game, the only way Dice will ever make a good game again is if they don't get good sales on this game, don't buy it so we'll get a better game later

I like the effective camoflauge in the game. Not like BF4 where you have all these player camos but none worked to camoflauge you! I really hope they don't mess with the camos to try and make people stand out. That's not what I want! Also, attrition is great! Time to kill? Not so much. Takes way to long to kill so it really sucks when you only have two mags when it takes half a mad to kill someone. Not good. Those are my only complaints.
The game just looks and feels too arcady. The skull when you kill someone drives me nuts for whatever reason. It looks terrible. I wish they'd show us new maps. Rotterdam and the Norway map don't scream WWII. Show us Normandy. Show us Wake. Show us Stalingrad. Show us Iwo Jima. I know they might still be working on some of those, but they should have had one of those ready.

I’m so glad DICE brought the runways back for the planes. It makes the game feel much more realistic. I miss taking off & lading my plane for repairs in BF3.

I don't mind attrition but IMO they could make it so if you spawn at a base/flag with a supply depot you get a full loadout, it just makes for less mundane gameplay and still gives it meaning when you choose to spawn on a squad mate or flag without depot, tack a few seconds onto the spawn time if you must because at least the map and loadout screen is more fun 😛
I think a good way to balance ammo in attrition could be like per damage, so like snipers that do loads of damage get like 4 rounds and smgs get like 4 mags , etc

Help me out here. Jack mentions that 3D spotting has been removed but then he goes on to say that for aircraft spotting range has been increased so seeing spotted targets on the ground will be easier. Who is meant to spot targets and how is it done?

Oh I know what it had, I've played every battlefield there is. It's still not multiplayer, it's called offline bot match. a bot is not a player thus a match with one ACTUAL player and 63 bots is not multiplayer.

Jack, keep up the good work. Your videos are great and informative. Just a little note on your video, background music makes the video more alive, but in my opinion the music used in this informative video doesn't really fit very well, it just feels off. In an easter egg video this music is great because easter eggs are mysterious, just like the music used here. This video is informative, it doesn't give off any vibes, it feels neutral and so you should probably use a different kind of background music. Other than that great video.
I personally feel the attrition system is honestly great the way it is, albeit with only one change in mind: Players should spawn in with the max amount of ammo possible. Gameplay wise, it's illogical to have the player want to run to the nearest ammo and health station (which I'm glad to hear they're giving everyone a bandage at spawn, just need to do that with ammo now). It was tedious and would slow down the gameplay even more everytime you were diverted to a station right at spawn. The current ammo caps I think give the attrition feel that they're looking for. Much less than other Battlefield games, but not NOTHING like you basically spawn with now. It will still force players to actively seek out ammo more, but just not at the start of every damn life. Also, contextually I'm not sure about this but I imagine soldiers in these countries were not given scraps for ammo. I'm sure they were outfitted with as much ammo as they could feasibly carry when they would first deploy into a battle. (even though it probably wasn't that much, i.e. attrition system) So I feel it would just make more logical sense to have players start with the max amount possible, especially because it would compromise on improving gameplay while also keeping attrition in place (which I think is a great idea).

I think maybe the attrition should be based on flags captured / tickets remaining for the team. So the lower your teams tickets or if you have less objectives capped would raise your attrition. Only problem with this being the losing team would be at a disadvantage which would probably throw the losing team into a larger ticket deficit.
I like the attrition idea, I would like to see benefits to spawning in on objectives. Like maybe if the support have buildt a health or ammo station then when you spawn in you automatically get an additional ammo pack or med kit.
The weapon upgrade system is just lazy and annoying. Bring back BF3/4 era where you can customize your guns however way you want lol.

In bf1 tank vs tank variants had high velocity rounds that did not have a large explosion radious making it difficult to kill infantry.

Same!!!! They don't need to remaster BF3, I've played it recently and it seriously is fine, if not more than fine to play now. It's better than recent cod games graphically haha. If they skinned it and just enhanced everything up a little with the new frostbite engine that game would be insane!
I think the next game will be in the future like BF 2142 which I loved, it wasn't crazy with lasers or anything and was just hectic.

Yeah I want this too, for ages. I think the main thing is making a map large enough for it and a lot of testing to go with it to see how viable it is. I reckon the next-gen BF3 type game will have something like that.

There's a really easy way to tweak attrition, when you're playing as a medic (as default) when you press 'n' hold 5 you can every time get a med pack to heal yourself to 100% health, but what if EVERY soldier had 1 ammo pack that refills you to full ammo? (or at least refills one magazine clip worth of bullets) Of course, you might say there's a lot of potential and/or not good, but I think when players *think* that attrition doesn't feel balanced, why not give 1 ammo pack for everyone when they spawn? Soldiers have PLENTY of space on their outfits
and what sense, have then the classes?
to resupply soldiers, if you have only 1 bag to resupply yourself with 1 magazine, and you need more, you can just ask support

I like the effective camoflauge in the game. Not like BF4 where you have all these player camos but none worked to camoflauge you! I really hope they don't mess with the camos to try and make people stand out. That's not what I want! Also, attrition is great! Time to kill? Not so much. Takes way to long to kill so it really sucks when you only have two mags when it takes half a mad to kill someone. Not good. Those are my only complaints.
Half a mag? Most guns are four to five shots at full auto not including headshots

What's weird is that while the TTK is slow on paper, it felt pretty quick to me when I played the beta.
The game just looks and feels too arcady. The skull when you kill someone drives me nuts for whatever reason. It looks terrible. I wish they'd show us new maps. Rotterdam and the Norway map don't scream WWII. Show us Normandy. Show us Wake. Show us Stalingrad. Show us Iwo Jima. I know they might still be working on some of those, but they should have had one of those ready.
They're going in a kinda chronological way, those battles happened way later in the war so will most likely come later.

I’m so glad DICE brought the runways back for the planes. It makes the game feel much more realistic. I miss taking off & lading my plane for repairs in BF3.
Not only does the fog improve visibility it made the soldier models look like actual WWII German soldiers. AMAZING!
I'm really excited for this game to come out, and fail.. Hopefully no one buys this shit and they wake up and make a game worthy of a new battlefield game .. Very disappointed

why don't you start by making it a real WW2 game?
I don't mind attrition but IMO they could make it so if you spawn at a base/flag with a supply depot you get a full loadout, it just makes for less mundane gameplay and still gives it meaning when you choose to spawn on a squad mate or flag without depot, tack a few seconds onto the spawn time if you must because at least the map and loadout screen is more fun 😛
I think a good way to balance ammo in attrition could be like per damage, so like snipers that do loads of damage get like 4 rounds and smgs get like 4 mags , etc

Help me out here. Jack mentions that 3D spotting has been removed but then he goes on to say that for aircraft spotting range has been increased so seeing spotted targets on the ground will be easier. Who is meant to spot targets and how is it done?

Third of all,bf2 had an option to play multiplayer with bots in offline mode which counts as multiple people playing the game.
Oh I know what it had, I've played every battlefield there is. It's still not multiplayer, it's called offline bot match. a bot is not a player thus a match with one ACTUAL player and 63 bots is not multiplayer.

Jack, keep up the good work. Your videos are great and informative. Just a little note on your video, background music makes the video more alive, but in my opinion the music used in this informative video doesn't really fit very well, it just feels off. In an easter egg video this music is great because easter eggs are mysterious, just like the music used here. This video is informative, it doesn't give off any vibes, it feels neutral and so you should probably use a different kind of background music. Other than that great video.
I personally feel the attrition system is honestly great the way it is, albeit with only one change in mind:
Players should spawn in with the max amount of ammo possible.
Gameplay wise, it's illogical to have the player want to run to the nearest ammo and health station (which I'm glad to hear they're giving everyone a bandage at spawn, just need to do that with ammo now). It was tedious and would slow down the gameplay even more everytime you were diverted to a station right at spawn. The current ammo caps I think give the attrition feel that they're looking for. Much less than other Battlefield games, but not NOTHING like you basically spawn with now. It will still force players to actively seek out ammo more, but just not at the start of every damn life.
Also, contextually I'm not sure about this but I imagine soldiers in these countries were not given scraps for ammo. I'm sure they were outfitted with as much ammo as they could feasibly carry when they would first deploy into a battle. (even though it probably wasn't that much, i.e. attrition system) So I feel it would just make more logical sense to have players start with the max amount possible, especially because it would compromise on improving gameplay while also keeping attrition in place (which I think is a great idea).
And if there female they should spawn in with extra tampons

I think maybe the attrition should be based on flags captured / tickets remaining for the team. So the lower your teams tickets or if you have less objectives capped would raise your attrition. Only problem with this being the losing team would be at a disadvantage which would probably throw the losing team into a larger ticket deficit.

I like the attrition idea, I would like to see benefits to spawning in on objectives. Like maybe if the support have buildt a health or ammo station then when you spawn in you automatically get an additional ammo pack or med kit.
looks like the player models got a bit of a cleanup as well... love it!
