I've had a faith panel with Scripture verses printed randomly on canvas, but I haven't known what to do with it. I think this pattern is a good way to work in some of the Verses in maybe every other square. The rest of the squares will have some sort of accent fabric, not too busy, though, since I want the Verses to be focal points. Thanks for sharing this 💗. By the way, that's a lovely top, you wear it well.
Hello Katrina from Manitoba Canada. Thank you for sharing your quilting knowledge with us. You are so inspirational. I shared this video (quilt) with my 16th year old grand daughter. We are making a log cabin quilt together. She feels confident that she can tackled this one on her own. She will add a basic three inches border and finish with binding.
It interesting how a first impression of a fabric collection can be changed to an acceptable 2nd impression, just with a pattern! Very nice job, Katrina!
Hello! I hope you had a cheerful day! I just got the first chance to sit with my hand quilting and watch your video. I hope you have a gentle week ahead. Thank you for posting your video and sharing your time and talent.
The fabric makes me think of Halloween. It wouldn't be a first choice for me, but seeing your quilt, I've changed my mind. I love the pattern and can see so many possibilities for it. As always, another great tutorial! Thanks for sharing.
I have been spending time going through my extra fabric and cutting some of it down into manageable sizes. And getting room in my sewing room. This quilt pattern would be terrific for my 10 inch squares. Especially since I have so many. Thank you.
Glad I found your channel. Enjoying your tutorials. I especially like that you actually take us thru the whole quilt. I never know how to finish my tops so they sit. It recently started QAYG and I can combine blocks and use your ideas to top stitch. Good idea to practice on. Thank you
I love this idea! I now know what I'm going to do with the Halloween layer cake I bought years ago. I'm so glad RUclips suggested your channel! 🤗. New subscriber 😁
Lovely! Looks easier to tackle for a newbie like me, but can I ask, I've not really learnt how to quilt yet, or into traditional quilting with blocks or geometric shapes. I love art quilts and trying to find a British magazine dedicated to this fabric art form as I want to make a Memories Quilt (for passing down in my family) of all the Scottish places we holidied at back in the 80s, or places I wanted to go to, but can no longer do this on my own and being alone, 70 now and on a pension its too expensive to travel. Also, what is a layercake please, and its width that you used for the demo? How much are they? Thank you 😃 xx
Thank you, I have only recently started sewing again now I am retired and have time. I would love to have a go at patchwork and quilting, you make it look so easy! I suppose I might be better starting with say a cushion cover, or would a project like this with not too many fiddly bits be reasonable?
This quilt would be perfect for you to make. I'm self-taught of a few years. I don't know anyone interested in crafts. I would encourage you to start big. This is a nice quilt YOU CAN DO IT Hilary.
Hi, this depends on which country you're in but as a general rule for a king size bed you need 4 layer cakes. Different regions have different measurements for standard bed sizes. We'd recommending checking depending where in the world you are. Hope this helps.

Hi Michelle, a layer cake is a pack of 42 10" squares of fabric from a Moda range. Layer cakes can range from £35-£37.
@@SewingStudio thank you hon xx
@@SewingStudio I have a lot of 12"x12" blocks..... Would I still cut 2" around or a little larger?
How many layer cakes and/or 10" squares do you need for a full bed size quil

How much yardage did you need for the binding? Backing? I think this is easy for a beginner like me.
Hello, Katrina used 3 metres for the backing and 75cm for binding.
How many layer cakes do I need for a king-size bed please
