    I'd go ahead and use All of the blocks, even with a juvenile print. I'd even put a border on it. Kids of all ages love fun prints, they grow fast, and some like their feet to be covered. Besides, what child doesn't like making indoor tents with their covers?
    Even this gramma likes fun prints. I'm seriously considering a barnyard babies print for my next personal check order.💁‍♀️Thanks for sharing this fun, easy pattern!

    I have just finished making this using Moda, Ocean View. I am very pleased with it. I did cut a few squares that had distinct picture's , slightly differently to get save the pictures . I also didn't want to rotate to stitch the blocks together. I just waited to press the seams joining the blocks till I had chain piece them into rows. I was very pleased this worked as i am a fairly inexperienced quilter. Thank you very much for your clear instructions.

    How wide is your seam margin for sewing the edges together? My pieces keep coming up 1/8" short of 9 inches...

    • @MaterialGirlQuilts
      @MaterialGirlQuilts  Год назад

      My seam allowances are 1/4". Even though yours are off a bit, if they are all the same it will still work out and be beautiful!

    Ok, math time. I have a fat eighth bundle that would be perfect for this. If I decrease the sizes, would I have to go down to 4 inches or could I go down to 4.5? I am digging out graph paper……

    I have a mini layer cake that has 24 squares and then a matching 24 strip jelly roll. Could I do this quilt pattern using the jelly roll since I don't have enough 10" squares?

    • @MaterialGirlQuilts
      @MaterialGirlQuilts  3 года назад

      Hi, the jelly roll won't work because you need to cut a 5" square from the layer cake before cutting your 2 1/2" rectangles. If your layer cake only has 24 squares, it would create 24 blocks that you could piece into 6 rows of 4 blocks and it would measure 34" x 51" which is a great baby size!

    • @quiltnewbie5432
      @quiltnewbie5432 3 года назад

      Oh, ok. I was thinking I could cut two 5” squares from each 10 inch and then use the other half plus my 24 jelly rolls to make all the 21/2 inch strips. I have a real pretty mini layer cake and 24 count jelly roll I don’t know what to do with because all the patterns I find need 42 of each. Thank you.

    • @MaterialGirlQuilts
      @MaterialGirlQuilts  3 года назад

      @@quiltnewbie5432 Oh I see, sorry I was confused! Yes that should work, I thought you were wanting to use the jelly roll without the mini layer cake. If they are the same fabric collection, then it will work!

    You need to angle the camera so it doesn't run off the edge. Couldn't see your second cuts.
