Personally, I would use the ruler lengthwise & cut the fabric in 2 inch strips...which is, as you stated, is more accurate way to cut fabric. You are using the same straight edge from which to measure. Thanks for this videi, great instructions & well done!
One of my goals this year was to make a queen size quilt for my bed. And now I have the perfect pattern to use! Thanks for such a beautiful and layer cake friendly pattern!!!
I’ve been eyeing that fabric line by Basic Grey wanting to buy it but talking myself out of it because I wasn’t sure what to do with it. Now I know! Love the quilt, but I’ll probably reduce it down to laptop size. Thanks for the pattern!
I have the perfect layer cake but need to make this smaller. Hope I can figure it out; maybe 5 blocks across and 5 down then add borders. Need to make it maybe lap size.
You could strip piece the navy center square and white rectangles.
Yes - silly me didn't even think of that! Thanks for the suggestion!!
I need to use up my 10 inch squares. That’s a great idea. I love that you used navy! Thank you for your great video.

What a great video thank you so much 🥳
You are so welcome!
I love this pattern! ❤ Is there a pattern for your star wall hanging?
The star wall hanging is from Camille Roskelley's book titled Simply Retro. It's great!
I can’t download the pattern either. I’ve tried on my iPhone and iPad.
Love the pattern! I’m looking forward to making it.
Thanks for letting me know Leigh Anne - it should be fixed now! Appreciate your kind words as well :)
I have the perfect layer cake but need to make this smaller. Hope I can figure it out; maybe 5 blocks across and 5 down then add borders. Need to make it maybe lap size.
Yes - that would end up being around 54" square. Great lap size!
❤❤❤
Thanks!
🌺🌺Amanda, the link to get this quilt does not work as of this time. Going to make it but cut down the size to twin. Can’t wait!!!
Thanks for letting me know Lee - it should be fixed now! A twin size would be great (and even faster!!).
Pressing seams open gives you of flatter seams and interecztions ,. Plus you don't ,have to remember which direction to go..
I agree, however sometimes I prefer to nest my seams so I don't have to pin my blocks and still get perfect points. I might be a bit lazy...hahaha!
What size is the center square, you didn’t give the size
It is 10"
The middle navy square is what size?
@@rebeccagallant368 They are all 10". Did you watch the video or look at the description??
❤❤❤
