So nice of you
Guitar has lost it's champion. RIP Mr Beck.
First song says it all. This is why he was and is the best in many ways. ty JB
"There's lots of great guitar players, then there's Jeff Beck" - Jimmy Page
Thank you for that quote....Eric Clapton always says Jeff is the best......I agree.
Page cannot come close to Beck, period.
@@bradreinhart3183 That‘s what Jimmy Page said - nothing else
Listening to Jeff Beck after a sad day absorbing the terrible news of his passing. Devastated. R.I.P. Jeff Beck, absolutely the best ever.
I am broken up as well. His music has become part of my soul. BAR NONE.
And his range of musical interests is as wide as it gets. Heard him talking about his parents, his father's jazz, Mum's classical and it reminded me that generations of music and sound developments was ours ... and to pass it on to our youth ... not all are ready to listen ... yet.
So right you are. The world is a far lesser place without this master among us. These songs are testament to his otherworldiness , gift , and spirit. Such beauty, keep listening. Thank you lord for letting me hear Jeff Beck AGAIN. And thanks for sharing! God bless everyone
@@johnsantacruz7417 We were lucky to have him. But, I will miss him a lot his playing spoke to me.
😢
Wonderful, Magical, Immortal Music!!! 🙏🙏🙏👌✌️✊🌟❤️🌹
Part of a generation of British guitarists never to be duplicated.
The uppermost top of the mountain 🏔️

As sad, and shocking as Jeff Beck's passing was to all of us, I can truly applaud that he lived life with a passion that very few can Dream of. There was no mediocrity in the way he performed; it was his true passionate genius that was communicated to all of us. RIP Jeff Beck...
We miss the greatness of his gift to us...but cherish his legacy as he lives on to all of us in the joy of his music..from shapes of things to his appearance with E.C....what a trbute.
Abso-fucking-lutely - I actually think Jeff had only one peer - David Gilmour - hanging on every note...Jeff was awesome - as life-long-friend Jimmy Page described himself compared to Jeff - "a mere mortal"
Lovely words
@@iansims8452 Hey Ian ... I love David Gilmour but (always a but) Mr Beck can do things on that instrument which Mr Gilmour would acknowledge is above him.

The best of the so called big three, just ask the other two!
The loss of this maestro still f***ing hurts.
Jeff's music makes me proud to be a guitarist. His gear was auctioned off for charity yesterday. Rest in peace, Maestro.
God chosen.
Fabulous compilation of songs by the late, great Jeff Beck. Nobody can top him as a guitarist. So sorely missed. RIP dear man.😢❤
how lucky all of us are to have been graced by his music
Definitely ❤️
Jeff you will be missed my friend we can no longer touch you but you will forever touch us
I’m absolutely gutted at the loss of this genius Jeff Beck. I’ve been a fan since the Yardbird days in the 60’s. The best guitarist in the world. You brought joy to millions with your outstanding playing, there’s a gaping hole in the world now. You will be dearly missed, Jeff.
It took me months to deal with it and the sadness never passes but the joy when I watch him blends and overtakes -these videos are a gift and a nostalgic reminder that will always be bittersweet

RIP Jeff. Yours was definitely a life well lived. Say hi to Jimi and SRV for us. You WILL be missed. One of the best to ever pick up the instrument. Once in a lifetime talent.
How about saying hi to EVH
Please don't forget Randy Rhoads. And give a shout out to Ronnie Van Zant while you're at it.

Rare guitarist 🎸 ✨️ 💖 ❤
I saw Hendrix in 67 at Bolton Odeon and love all top guitarists but I must admit this guy is number one!
Without question
One more thing, Can you imagine Jeff being brought up in 50 years. I'm tellin' you, we have lived in an era like never again.
His technique is untouchable...A true guitar God
Wonderful maestro Jeff Beck forever...once upon a time....virtuoso Jeff Beck
The greatest British rock guitarist ever. Never for a moment complacent, always looking for the next progression. Leo Fender had no idea what he was making would sound like Beck.
Jeff Beck played that Guitar like it was part of him.Hard to copy

It was part of him. In a sense literally so. At a given time he might position his body and guitar to affect feedback in a particular place within a piece of music. Seems so to me..!

King of the Strat! 🎸🎼🇨🇦
It's not often that I'm impacted too hard by the passing of a musician or "personality". Over the years, Freddie Mercury, Lemmy, Richard Wright, Rick Parfitt, Alan Lancaster are probably only a few who have had any real impact on me. Even the passing of Bowie and others, although noticed, have not had a big impact on me emotionally.
I just learned today the Jeff Beck has passed after a short illness, and this has hit me out of the blue, and has totally knocked me for 6.
In my view, he is without doubt the best guitarist I have ever heard or seen in my lifetime, and that list of guitarists I have seen includes Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, David Gilmore, Brian May, Joe Satriani, and so many more.
He was instrumental in the direction than The Yardbirds took after Eric Clapton left, and that was crucial in the later Yardbirds style, then The New Yardbrds, and that became Led Zeppelin, which changed rock completely.
Luckily, I got to see him a few years ago at Sydney Opera House.
He had a way of making the hairs on your neck stand up and your whole body shiver with a single note. Check out his version of Over The Rainbow (either the album version from Emotion And Commotion, or many live versions including on Later With Jools Holland, or other live recordings on youtube), Goodbye Pork Pie Hat (which was already an elegy for Lester Young by Charles Mingus), Where Were You, Star Cycle, Drown In My Own Tears, Cause We've Ended As Lovers, Jerusalem, and so many many many other performances.
The musicians who've been in his bands over the years is a who's who of music. I really couldn't do the list justice, but start off with The Yardbirds, Vinnie Colaiuta and Terry Bozzio (both drummers for Frank Zappa - you don't even get a call to an audition for Frank without being out of this world as a musician), Tal Wilkenfeld, Jason Rubello, Rod Stewart, Cozy Powell, Max Middleton, Simon Phillips, so many many others over a period of 60 years or more.
His recording with his band at Ronnie Scott's truly is one of my favourite live recordings ever, and I will be watching it again tonight. I've genuinely watched it every few weeks ever since it was released.
I'm truly heartbroken that Jeff has gone 🙁
Goodbye, Pork Pie Hat. Jeff Beck, RIP. 🙁

RIP Jeff and thanks so much for enjoying your godgiven genious guitarplay.

He never got old and never sold out!
I remember many times saying you don't know who Jeff beck is ?
Mesmerizing evenings!
That is because he mainly played in America and Japan, where people adored him. Cynthia Allen McLaglen

His art never gets old....!!
Jeff was 55 yrs old when this was recorded. And he just recorded with Ozzy. He never sat around. Damn. What a prolific musician!
Yes I agree with you!!
except when he was building cars
Can't build a car sitting down
The one & only: JEFF BECK! 🤘🤟✌
🙏🙏🙏
Jeff is the greatest guitarist ❤💙🇬🇧
Sometimes he plays like he's angry, and then he beams that smile, saying it's cool!
His unique guitar style, sets him apart from the rest of guitar icons, sonically done, with a lot of climaxes and episodes to compliment his extraordinary feat, as guitar legend. Everything from tone, distortion, flashiness, monumental trademarks, signatory licks, outside combinations, variation on the theme, space futuristic prog rock, jazz, lyrical long lines and very memorable stuff, away from standard rock and roll variants typical approaches of playing, so sad he exited very early, May God give him peace amen. We lost a deemed guitar hero. Prolific and nimble.
R.I.P BECK 💜💫Amongst the stars phenomenal guitarist
love that man, beautiful soul, flawless. no pedals, totally in control of his sound
Live is to short for jeff and all good people❤❤❤❤❤
Greatest showmanship to apply to Berklee college.

Every single time I hear him live his phrasing in some of the bends makes me just shudder and melt and praise his inhuman talent and execution.
They are breathtakingly on point. Just so expressive and perfect.
Best Guitarist there ever was.

I’m reading hundreds of comments about Jeff Beck sound, his amazing technique … I think that on top of all that (where he was unique), he was a Musician. An incredible musician. Still devastated by his loss. Enjoy wherever you are…

I want to be this Jennifer Batten to live one night on the stage with Jeff. To the cliff of the Guitar Music.
Le plus beau toucher de guitare nous a quitté. 2023 commence mal. Love Jeff RIP
Another brilliant thing about Jeff Beck (apart from being one of the most innovative guitarists ever) is that he was forever playing with folks who are also great - here, Jennifer Batten is also contributing some very cool backing....every where you look, he did this again and again. incredible. what a loss.
Definitely ❤️
He was an uplifter of so many talented musicians always giving others their due and many times a hand up!
Beautiful man and the best damn guitarist to ever pick up a guitar and wrench forth from a piece of wood, otherworldly sounds nobody else will ever be able to replicate

My only guitar hero is now dead. Thank you for the music, Mr. Beck.
The world just got a little darker.
Jeff could take you threw a musical journey with his guitar playing style. His fusion was unmatched. Blues up there amongst the best. Jeff Beck we where blessed to have you play for us . R.I.P
12:28pm I’m so devastated that Jeff passed away. I heard this song with Jeff & Johnny Depp “what’s going on.” I actually thought someone was playing the saxophone, but it was Jeff. R.I.P. 💔
Absolutely ❤️ 💯
It’s impossible to get anything else done when I play Jeff Beck. I have to listen to every note and watch every action and every interaction and expression. And it’s so hard to turn it off to get anything else done. He was and is unbelievable and so passionate in his life. God Bless you for your life Jeff Beck and RIP you amazing man ❤🎶🙏🙏🙏
Truly a one of a kind player! Had stunning ability to make a guitar talk, sing, scream, cry, laugh! Only saw him in person once in 1976, it was amazing!
Heartfelt condolences to family and those fortunate enough to have been friends with this man.
An amazing talented individual Jeff was.
A shocking and devastating blow to us fans! I always had a deep admiration for his playing.
And the chemistry magic he displayed with Max Middleton.
Especially in Blow by Blow! Rest in peace Jeff, you will definitely be missed!

I learn every time I listen to this. Pure Beck
Jeff always had that intensity in his fingertips, he is the king of the "tasty lick".
Beautifully done.
Thank you for these 7 tunes from Jeff live. Each is wonderful 🙏🙏RIP Jeff
Glad you enjoyed it
Haven't stopped listening to him since I heard the tragic news...an icon and I was lucky enough to have worked with him twice at Parkgatestudios( proprietor) in East Sussex. Setting up the mics in the main room whilst Jeff, Pino Palladino and Stewart Copeland were jamming was a privileged moment and is etched in my memory. My favourite guitarist of all time, his improvisation taking the guitar to places you never expected with such emotive tones that tore into your soul, growling like a tiger, heavy like a tank, delicate and sweet like a dove and crying like a baby. Never one for small talk, straight out of the car, into the studio and pick up the guitar...can't think of many musicians that can evoke such feelings. In bits this morning, writing whilst listening. A true great has gone and will be sorely missed.
I like that you say you were in bits , Las 3 weeks I learned people get ready , so it shoked me to hear he slid away from the earthly bonds , no free to fly with. His waves of sound All round ,
@@johnryan527 apsalut amazing listening to in my life time one of the greatest players I think there as ever been he will all ways be loved by is followers and family and friends r.i.p the one and only jeff beck

From the first time I heard 'shapes of things' by the Yardbirds I was hooked on the incredible talent of Jeff Beck. GOAT? What about Hendrix, and others? Can't compare because each of them was unique, and I celebrate that he was amongst us and gave so much joy. RIP Jeff.
