- Jeff Beck and Imelda May at the Honors Les Paul Show perform the songs Remember walking in the sand and Please mr jailor. Great music with great artists. The whole concert is available on dvd and Blueray. This is just a teaser. I think Remember Walking n The Sand is how it would sound if Frank Zappa and Peggy Lee performed a song made famous by The Shangri-Las. We must be in heaven!

Rest in Peace Jeff Beck, an incredible musical genius, and also a truly decent human being. This clip says it all.
I had some tears watching Jeff playing Sleepwalk
Just heard... had to come here and listen again...
Wow, after all we lost,,, this one really hurts.
Best guitarist I ever saw live on stage. and that includes Eric Clapton, Frank Zappa, Dave Gilmour, Rory Gallagher, Duane Allman, Hendrix, Johnny Winter and Mark Knopfler. I'm feeling really upset this morning.
I’m well and truly gutted, he was an absolute legend. It’s hard watching this clip without welling up inside. RIP Jeff you will be sorely missed.
Friggin' Imelda May! Why she never became more succesful than she did is beyond my comprehension. What a talent!
The only other female singer who belted it out like Imelda was Marcia ball and she accompanies herself on piano!
@@andrewveghte5027 I was thinking also Haley Reinhart. Such wonderful voices, all!
The problem is always "the Epsteins and Weinsteins".
she probably never sold her soul to the devil like the rest of them....I was thinking the same thing about Alice Smith....Why was she never given the lights of stardom
Love Beck's reaction as Imelda sings her first line! Welcoming her onto the stage in a real way. Class act,
」」
You are so right, both of them are a class act, RIP jeff>
Quel duo !!! Parfaite synchronisation entre l'expression de la voix féminine et le chant de la guitare 🎸🎶 Génial 🙏
I think he thinks what a great great timing!
Oh yes! A Gentleman, Master Craftsman!
I could listen to Imelda and/or Jeff Beck all day.
I hear you, amazing
My God I love Imelda May! Probably the most underrated female singer in the last 20 years.
Sziper
Couldn’t agree more. Can sing anything in any genre. Also an excellent writer.
Amen
Yes! I'd go with that. This woman is a genius, and I've never heard better evocations of jazz/rock standards. She's the best!
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is no bullshit, this is true talent and real music. They're all so good !
Exactly what I thought...what a treat.
After all these years I'm still taken aback by how perfectly Jeff Beck played.
Never a bad note. Just incredible.
What's the super genius part of Jeff is the way he builds his sections, in the opening he states the theme, then he vamps and brings it up to a mini crescendo with double stops to welcome Imelda on to the stage, later when he does his solo it's all bigger than the intro but he stills builds all the pieces of the solo to a climax. Also throughout the whole song he's always complimenting and doing call and answer with Imelda. JUST BRILLIANT MASTERY !!
Never overplaying. Just always letting the songs breathe and others shine
Jeff Beck- it's just incomprehensible. So much ability and musical wisdom and talent, charisma, genius, personality... and such a support to friends and other musicians.
I'm so sorry this happened to this amazing man!
It's gonna happen to us all.
Nice words...
A very sad day with the loss of Mr Jeff Beck. I have listened to him since the 60’S one of the world’s greatest guitarists RIP Jeff
This is the most sublime pairing - two amazing musicians who truly just ‘get it’
Hot shit for sure!!!
You are so right
I guess the rest of the band is ok too 😂
That is one of the greatest entrances of all time.
And then she just crushes it. ❤️🍎💋🎼
Imelda is so incredibly gifted! I could fall gracefully to sleep every night having her just sing to me! There is absolutely no strain in her vocals & comes so naturally!
So blusig und nice 👍
Concur.
One of the greatest intros and entrances i have ever seen.
I cant believe the director went to the drummer, instead of the camera being on her in that amazing entrance!!!
This is just fabulous - Both Jeff B and Imelda are outstanding - and the backing group is right there! Fabulous!
Was watching a PBS musical show. It was broadcasting this show from New York city. I was awe struck. What a performance. When it ended the screen said Beck and Imelda were coming to Chicago. I bought the most expensive concert tickets I could. Bought two tickets for $600 and took one of my daughters. Introduced her to Beck. Fabulous show.

RIP Jeff Beck. Was lucky enough to see this show with my sons in DC. So much joy! His music will live on.
I can't get over how great this is! I just keep playing it over and over realizing how brilliant Jeff's melody lines are and Imelda's counter point is🎉
Amazing how a cover of a really old song, played by mostly old guys, can BLOW AWAY EVERY POP SONG OF THE PAST 20 YEARS.
Mc2-
I. WAS. ABOUT. TO. SAY. ❗️
😒 all of them on stage are just killing it.
mmmm....now I know what all the fellas been talking about. Mr Jeff Beck
Oh my word!
That singer ain’t too bad either ❗️
Aint it the truth
Yup and they need to displace the cookie cutter crap on the radio with real music like this is!
This entire band and performance is beyond fantastic.
All are first class musicians ! And Imelda, what a goddess !!!!!
This song rips my freakin head off....every time. Jeffs playing and tone....wtf. Unbelievable.....Imelda...im in love...The drummer is a legend.... the whole band is killer
Every time I watch this I think Imelda might be just about the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen. And the Jeff lets out one of those mind-numbing riffs… Nope that’s the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen.
The whole band is terrific. Fantastic performances.
The other guitar player is married to the singer and this is their band.
I agree
I'm 60 I discovered Jeff Beck 42 year's ago and he's been my #1 guitar God since.I discovered Imelda May 2weeks ago and already have 2 of her cds.
She is something else. Right up there with Delores O and Amy W! I just hope her career takes her well into old age!
I'm almost 60 and after Jeff has just left us i found out how great of a musician this man has been. Greetz John.
This is an amazing rendition...Jeff Beck is other worldly
Wow this is terrific. Love to watch the interactions between musicians and musicians / singers. Love this combo.
You are so missed Jeff Beck ❤ RIP 🙏🙏🎶🙏🙏
Great performance by all. Goosebumps seeing Jeff connect his guitar lines with the vocalists timbre.
Jeff really knew his business... And what a group of musicians !!!
Undoubtedly one of the best renditions of Remember (Walkin’ in the sand) ever. Jeff’s wailing guitar, Imelda’s extraordinary voice and a great band especially, the horn section. Bravo! Thanks for posting on RUclips. Sorry had to edit this comment, How could I leave out the drummer? Probably the hardest working band member on stage. Excellent work Sir.😮
This is the closest I've ever seen to musical sex. Beck's trade off with Imelda during his solo is just so hot. This tune is the definition of a torch song. Right up there with Peggy Lee's Fever.
the most influential guitarist of the 20th century. Rest in peace!
He's the Best but Les Paul invented everything and played guitar so he could be more Influential
Rest in Peace Jeff Beck, an incredible musical genius, and also a truly decent human being. This clip says it all !
It`s a f*cking work of art. Her voice is magic and his guitars are brutal. magnificent
I bet she doesn’t have any trouble hailing a cab.
@@TheEleatic certainly no problem if You're the cabbie, then!
vale mi niño
Wow, there really is no words for this performance, absolutely brilliant, still can’t believe Jeff is no longer with us, just an outstanding musician ❤️
Page said " In a night when he's on nobody can touch Beck" I'd say he was on this night.
This girl can melt icebergs...🔥🔥🔥🔥 Jeff ? Well... could I say more and better than it's been said before about this genius? And the band rocks and cooks as hell. By the way, Lou Marini there. 9:24 minutes to show to a bunch of music industry-spoiled "wanna be" youngsters how is that music is to be made and what it's all about. R.I.P. dear Jeff. 💖
Beck is All Class ... proof: after singing her first line, his reaction... Legend Sir, RIP
I listen to this over and over again and Iwould never get tired of it, it just gets better and better..
So awesome
Genialny Jeff Beck, genialna Imelda May, genialny zespół....wykonanie mistrzowskie!!!!
Even the delay on the snare drum on the breakdown is amazing the band and sound is beyond amazing
No words. Imelda is pure class. Not to mention Jeff
No one else can play a Fender like Jeff Beck. He's got a completely different style that no one else can ever consider competing with. Granted that Eric Clapton is a master of the Telecaster, but there's a complex style involved with Jeff and that wang bar. He's definitely a great musician and I don't believe he's gotten the credit he's deserved. His treatment of the band members says it all. He shows that he's not the star of the show he's always appreciative of the people who contribute to his amazing work. And he shows it with every look after thier performance. Always a nod and smile of appreciation for all.
Don't know if I've ever seen Clapton playing a Tele.
@@davidhartz8902 Looks like a fender in Got to get better in a little while. If not please school me. Obviously I'm no guitar expert.
@@earlblack2914 JB is playing a Fender Stratocaster here. EC usually played a Fender Stratocaster (although in earlier days with Cream he played other guitars, such as a Gibson SG; in the Concert for Bangla Desh he's playing some hollow-body electric). The Fender Telecaster is known for a different sound (Merle Haggard uses one, as does Bruce Springsteen). I'm no guitar expert, either, by the way.
@@davidhartz8902 I thought Clapton was better on LP's, and other Gibson guitars. I find Beck better on Strats.
Clapton plays a Strat…
Love this performance. I have the DVD, and play it periodically. Jeff Beck's a genius, and Imelda May is always refreshing!
I've got it ,too. Must have watched it 10 times in the first 3 months of owing it.
@@ole9421 You bet! Real Rock and Roll.
Hi Roy, showers are refreshing too. Doesnt Imelda May warrant a bit more praise than that? IMO she is absolutely fantastic and like so many ladies does not get the recognition they deserve! ALL THE BEST...TONY.
@@tonydeeble6959 Can't disagree, but in this day and age, "refreshing" is to me a very high compliment. All the best!
No kidding...thank you! Another rock and roller! Glad to say "Hi," my friend!
This is real music! Not like what is played nowadays with all the rap and crap. JB one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Imelda May knocks it out. What a great, great jam session. 💜💜💜💜💜💜
Musicianship at its finest..Eminem who? Jay zee wtf..
Absolutely!❤❤
OK Boomer.
Yeah, this is great music! But why mocking other good music. Punk rules Ok, and so do Eminem and Kendrick Lamar, and a lot more. Good music unites. Always. Anyway. And even when we don't like it (but have to admit it). He he.
@@kareskollerud4094 Agree. I enjoy these guys, but not at the expense of other music. It's not a zero-sum game!
Man JB is just so AMAZING!!!! I love how much he respects and enjoys the people he plays with. He always get's so excited at a great riff or a powerful vocal from others and to ME that shows that he's playing for the SONG, not just to be "the lead guitarist".
Agreed 100%. He is purely 1 of the best imo. Now as far as Imelda goes, she has the most raw/pure talent & deep soulful voice since the late Amy Whitehouse again IMO.
No one has pipes quite like our Imelda. Beautiful
@@SB-uk5wx agreed
@@russcronsr.6559 yes, I thought Amy Whitehouse!
The Shangri-Las! Digging it. It is a bit ironic however that Jeff is shredding on a strat in a tribute to Les Paul.
Thank you Jeff for all good vibes and emotion
I just love Jeff’s expression when one of his protogés does something exceptional. It’s a joy to watch !
Jeff Beck, Вечная память великому гитаристу и музыканту!!!
100 раз слушаю , еще буду слушать и смотреть это видео.
Это чудесная музыка!
I have never seen a woman enjoy so much pleasure with a guitarist. Orgasms of guitar and voice. That's music!! Please, wherever you are Jeff, make her cry again like that. An awsome duet sustain by a such a great rythmic.
What an intro and what a song! Fabulous performance, pure class!🔥🔥😊❤️
Two of my faves together... ABSOLUTE SOLID GOLD...
.
I cried tonight for the first time in years cos my hero just passed....god bless you Jeff and RIP
I did too when it happened and no one can take the place of him. I followed him through the Yardbirds years and bought every album he made afterward.
she is killing me with her voice ❤
she's beautiful and her voice is amazing
Sadly her new stuff is quite far from this....but I still dig her alot!! Hope that she will get back to something with some power and this kind of excitement!
Darrel was what drove her to be all that she could be. I knew him when he lived in the states, he had the drive then!! That was in ‘92!!
I saw this same gig in a smaller theater venue in PA. Truly remarkable. There was no one better than JB may he rest in peace ❤
Jeff Beck with Imelda May truly amazing retro rock n roll and what a band fantastic❤
a great performance of a great song during a great concert! Thanks to Jeff, Imela, and the band.
Astonishing playing and Imelda. Incredible. The drummer is terrific. JB magnificent.

Не нахожу слов, что бы выразить свое восхищение вокалом и музыкой !!!!!
Aerosmith 1979 г. композиция 3
Саша! Да я сам аххху...л! Всю жизнь блюзы любил, люблю, буду любить!
Имельда клёвая. Джефф кросавчег
wow, that was the very definition of "bringing it". that band slayed.
Every bit of this performance is just FENOMENAL! Steve Rushton on drums.
Love the way he always stood in the back and let everyone shine.
Pure gentleman……..
You got it.
I love Jeff's reaction to her when she starts to sing and the drummer is so into it! Her voice is awesome, all of them are❤❤❤
Fantastic band, Imelda and of course Jeff Beck. He always chooses the coolest female vocalists and bassists. Little else to say except this track should be on an album, Mr Beck!!!!!
can you believe this? I love his response to Imelda taking the mic.
work of art. Her voice is magic and his guitars are brutal. magnificent
The drummer boy is awesome!!! Love JB, this is an amazing performance!
Кличка у него Аnimal:)
Jeff was my first inspiration and my last. Incredible performance by one and all, great band, vocalist and Jeff Beck par excellence! Kudos to the Recording and Studio Mix Engineers.
I love her style from her hair to her shoes. What a amazing voice!
Jeffs playing is a thing of beauty. Pure feeling ✊😎
That lick as Imelda walks on stage - incredible.
Yeah that's FRESH!
like a boss
Wonderfull music and amazing jeff Beck and also a great singer Imelda!
I loved this concert. I always hoped that Jeff, and Imelda, would make a few albums together. They made such an awesome pair!
I think this is the best version of this song EVER.
Hallo! I dont found the Titel of the song! Please!
@@7cornel545 first song is called walking in the sand, second one is please mr. jailor
@@samdamusicnerd9838 walking in the sand ShangiLas first hit before Leader of the Pack
She is brilliant . so much talent never gets the limelight it deserves . Heff Beck a genuius proves his versality again and again . one of the Best guitarists of all time and so modest .
One of the things I love (and it amazes me in equal measure) his how JB gets the notes he does without ever using a plectrum/pick. Like the great Albert collins, he does it all with fingers and thumb.
Guitar was and still is played with the fingers... it gives more sound variations and better sound. Problem is only (for me) when comes to fast tremolo picking.
What a flawless performance, total rock'n'roll mastery
Imelda May was born to rip our hearts out on one song and have us dancing on them the next. Talent, looks and
class, without any of the supposed rockabilly trashy look and antics. Jeff, Imelda and Darrell Higham were a rock,
rockabilly and bluesy force.
And not a tattoo ,just Imelda..
That drummer is a beast.
My my my... Imelda. Way to burn down a torch song, so sultry, good god. JB of course just makes it completely epic talking thru his guitar, and it's great to hear and see the band get into it with their perfect backup. They knew what they were going to do, too. Knowing smiles all around, just great stuff.
Maravilloso espectáculo lleno de talento y experiencia. Gracias a todos por este regalo
Wow! I just heard Imelda May for the first time. She is fabulous! Of course Jeff Beck was always great .
What a great singer!! and great guitarist and super band!!!
Always been an admirer of jeff.. So cool.. Made me listen 100000 times this song..
What a Great voice 👌 and a maestro on the guitar
Jeff's playing,GOOSEBUMPS.
Imeldas vocals,GOOSEBUMPS.
The band,GOOSEBUMPS.
IMO,Jeff Beck was the most complete guitar player EVER.
R.I.P.Jeff ,you deserve it.
My fantasy would be to hear Jeff Beck in his prime [like this cut] play it with the original Shangri La's in their prime. The "La's" version is classic and that's with all respect to Imelda. Maybe if I make to heaven, I can hear it there. I'm sure Jeff would be Jamming with many of his favorite female vocalists. Imagine Jeff playing with Aretha, Janis, Diana Ross, Big Mama Thornton, and jamming with Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Wow.
thats some band upstairs i hope i get a ticket to get in
Can’t stop looking for more and more Jeff Beck, what a great pair. Like the jazz artist look
I’ve never been into Jeff Beck before, but this was riveting! I loved his playing on here. Imelda May was new to me and her voice is spellbinding. The whole band is wonderful!
Go online and listen to some early Jeff Beck...he's Amazing
I was fortunate enough to see him live once! He surrounds himself with talent.
He’s brilliant
Jeff Beck at Ronnie Scott's just Brilliant!
Not into Jeff Beck? Go back to school
That is so so so good! World class musicians in a small venue….Live music does not get any better.
word Virtuoso is not enough to describe the jeff becks talent. Rock in peace💔💔
One of the most under rated masters of the guitar, brilliant and so is Imelda
A me non pare che jeff sia sottovalutato / un grande visto concerto a luglio - PORDENONE ! SUPER JEFF BEK- SUPER IMELDA 🥰🥰✌🏽👍
He is far from underrated. He is a legend who’s name is mentioned in the same breath as Page, Clapton,Hendrix, and Van Halen.
@@boataxe4605 jessssssss
I am 69 years old and in the seventies he was already an guitar icon, named with Hendrix, Clapton, Alvin Lee, Rory Gallagher, Al di Meola. And he still is, but probably unknown by the Justin Bieber fans.
JB wasn't underrated. He was under appreciated. He was widely, and quite rightly acknowledged as the greatest of all time.
Amazing talent here and Imelda just slays it with those vocals. Damn she's beautiful!!
she is fantastic
This is a reason why i love music
*What an incredibly deadly sound...*
*Beck, that brass section and the second to none soulful vocals of Imelda! BaBaBoom!!!*
You’ve put that perfectly !! 👍🏼
This is so powerful! Always makes me wanna cry how beautiful is this :)
Jeff Beck to geniusz gitary! Uwielbiam go i podziwiam.
Imelda też świetna.
Cudowny koncert.
One of the greatest pop songs ever and never performed better than this video.
Perfection - and just LOVE the drummer.
Que hermoso Blues, Jeff Beck un grande, descansa en Paz Jeff❤
FABULOUS ~ She's pretty great and Jeff's response when Imelda begins the song, Jeff thinks the same ~
🎶💞🎶 LOVE YOU JEFF 💓
Quite a remarkable team on stage. Imelda is sensational!
Beck is super tuned to the talented artists and he brings out the Best in them.
