Jeff Beck was light years ahead of his time. We were so blessed to have him here on earth for a little while. Stanley Clarke a fellow grandmaster and living legend. Thanks for this. Amazing.
You speak truth and wisdom.

as a musician of many years myself, someone show me how they can do it better than Jeff. I have heard thousands of guitarist and not one can do what Jeff does, and those who think they can can't. he is a true virtuoso and he earned every bit of it!
...Those who think they can can't... oddly, the ones who think they can be themselves well can do that better than Beck! HE is kind of a head case, and, like McLaughlin, if you pretty much INSIST on doing things differently every time out, some of that will match up with certain listeners sometimes better than others. I no longer just auto-buy EVERY McLaughlin CD, and I don't think I've spun "Beck goes to the Opera" more than a few times. But with both these guys, they KNOW they're headcases too, and plan accordingly. How many times can you re-write Blue Wind anyway.
He just gets better and better, and he plays with the best musicians too. Not just any old back up band or rhythm section.
Allan Holdsworth.
@@viktormuerte Alan Holdsworth is a great guitarist, but he hasnt influenced as many guitarists as Jeff Beck or even John McLaughlin for that matter. Quick name 3 Albums by Alan Holdsworth. His stuff sounds basically the same, and too much effects.

When Jeff was truly enjoying himself, he played without thinking, and with some of the world's greatest musicians of the era on stage with him we were treated to a magical spiritual awakening. Thank you Jeff, it was a hell of a ride🎸
Well said! As a guitarist, I know that one of the greatest feelings ever is ceasing thinking, opening up and letting it happen. Eric Clapton said of SRV "He was a wide open channel. He channeled the music", and I think he's right. At my level, that channeling happens in fleeting bursts but it's indescribably wonderful. It's a feeling of oneness with everything. It is the dragon I chase every time I practice. Jeff Beck is uniquely gifted and maybe the greatest guitarist of all time, IMO, but he didn't get there by solely his own efforts. I think that he too is a wide open channel. And once you've found that ability and experienced that feeling, why would you do anything else?
I seen him four times in Minneapolis, always with a different band, he only played with people he loved, a true legend 🎸 one of the few that never sold his soul..
Un grande 🙏💰🙏
Jeff never stoped evolving as a guitarist. RIP JB, Thanks for all the amazing music you left us.💔
One of the most original guitarists of our time. Jeff is unreal! No one else plays like this.
Jeff Beck constantly evolved over 60 years, never looking back! Of the Fender Stratocaster, I can’t name any guitarist who used it more thoroughly and squeezed every bit of music out of one like Jeff…
RIP Jeff Beck!
There's nobody.
Notable mentions:
John McClaughlin,
Alan Holdsworth and Stanley Jordan.
Jeff was the best and most interesting electric guitarist I ever heard.
It must remain subjective, but I've heard and seen very many.
❤
Two of the greatest masters of their art. RIP Jeff Beck
I'd argue three, Vinnie is right up there
@@johnthursfield3056 Vinnie is arguably more agreed upon by drummers as *the guy* than Stanley or Jeff are in their respective spaces. Point is, it's 3 legends.
@ColinBurroughs clearly this is a trifecta of masters- meeting of near equals. That said your praise for Vinnie goes a bit over the line
@@rickyschultz5434 Vinnie is a Legend. Your remark is the one... that's actually over the line!
@@cassandragarcia5548 So you took my comment of ‘near equals’ how exactly? I’ll say I’m pretty aware of these players status and regard in the artist community. I’m a fan of all three. Wonder where you’d rank say Jim Keltner and Steve Gadd for a couple top o’ mind examples? In another fifteen or twenty years Vinnie could/might be around Jeff’s level-and yes he is already a legend. I guess what I’m saying there are legends and then there are…#Legends
RIP master of the guitar Jeff Beck you were a shooting star, a one of a kind diamond and will be greatly missed.
Without trying hard Jeff has not only remained at the very top of the guitar world but has kept all integrity and style throughout his career. Ever changing I think he is still year ahead of his time
Yes I totaly agree! Thank you FLINT MI

Jeff Beck remain at the very top of the mountain. He was not a shredder. Yet he remained a true master. Shreddering has nothing to do with artistic integrity. a true artist through artist through and through. May he rest in peace.
R.I.P. dear Jeff Beck. A mighty genius of the guitar. There’s a great big hole in the world now. You will be sorely missed.
RIP Jeff you will most definitely be missed but your fabulous sounds will live on for ever
Taste, musicality, and shear virtuosity doesn't get any better in the rock/fusion/jazz world RIP Jeff Beck!!!
He has a touch unmatched in it's originality and intensity. No one sounds like Jeff Beck.
Nice to see people in the crowd fascinated with real music 🦉
Jeff has been blowing minds for over 50 years and still going strong. His style of playing can only be described simple as...Beck! I would have to say his is the most accomplished guitarist (ever)! No-one has a more recognizable touch and feel as Beck.
Bacterial Meningitis took him on January 10th. It is a sad day, indeed.
@@joypresleyify Was it that? I'm only reading that is was a heart attack. But no definite cause. Was it meningitis?

Man!!! Do I ever love Jeff Beck!! I have followed him since the Yardbird days, even before Page joined them. I have seen him 3 times since "Wired" and he NEVER disappoints. Such a great talent and the music still makes my brain flow. He was one of the reasons I picked up a guitar, but to be able to play some of his songs would be like taking a trip into space (thank goodness for air guitar.... and even after a couple of tunes, I'm out of breath).
He's always been in my top 3 list, and whenever he plays, he looks like he is enjoying himself so much. Thank you Jeff.
Who’s in your top 3? Jeff Beck plus Jimi Hendrix plus…
@@davidharding200John McLoughlin. ..Pages tutor and Jeff's mate.
One of the best things about being Jeff Beck would be the huge number of brilliant musicians he's played with.
He's as brilliant as any of them so it's a gift for them to be playing with Jeff Beck
AMEN! If a musician's resume includes playing with Jeff Beck and/or Frank Zappa, they are King of the Mountain/Master of the Universe/Top of the Heap! Only the best need apply.
"One Of The Best Rock Guitarists Of All Time" has been carelessly bandied about for decades. When applied to Jeff Beck, the phrase actually has substance.
One of the best the man crushes it he is by far the best has played so many ganres
👍👊✊👏👏🤙
Oh my what a master we lost. True virtuosity, and such kind tones.
Beck will always be one of the most expressive guitarist. Heartstrings!
You will be hugely missed Jeff Beck. Totally unique.
The term GOAT is thrown around a lot these days, but Mr Beck actually spent the 80's waiting for the music world to catch up to him! My favorite guitarist of ALL TIME, the soundtrack of my life thanks Jeff.
Hendrix' "Third Stone From the Sun" riff at 12:07 and they all smiled! Jimi lives on!
Some of the best and cleanest playing i've ever heard from a group.
There is something going on here between his brain and his hands into his guitar that isn't normal. Many can learn to ' play ' the guitar , but , Beck does something that is only ' gifted ' to one person in a lifetime!!............RIP..Jeff
UNBELIEVABLY BEAUTIFUL AND AMAZING!!! RIP JEFF BECK!!! I'm watching / listening to this for the second time in a row ... Am I imagining things - or do I see a pick very briefly in Jeff's right hand, particularly during the lightning-fast single notes, for "Scatterbrain"? Regardless, this is a Jazz / Rock Fusion tour de force!!! I loved Jeff since I was a little kid in the mid 1960's when he was in the Yardbirds ... Every evolution of his musical choices and guitar style has been a revelation and delight to me ... I saw him five times - the last time being with Stevie Ray Vaughn in 1989 in St Louis ... It seemed like he never got old - and he NEVER LOST HIS GUITAR PROWESS!!!
Saw him in Kingston with the Yardbirds back in the day been converted to his style of play ever since. Amazing how he's developed his playing style. Brillant !!!! can't compare him to any one else
If you saw him with the Yard birds, than you must sleep every night with the best memories. That must be an amazing memory for sure.
This little performance of Jazz was nothing less than a Musical Treasure; with every musician bringing the best out of each other. The duet between Jeff Beck, and Stanley Clarke was extraordinary. I never heard Jeff Beck go totally Jazz. There's one recording that's totally instrumental, where he combines Jazz with R&R. The way that this Great Guitarist evolved truly Amazes me, as I'm sure it constantly does others...
One of the top five guitarist to ever walk planet earth...
I cry every time I hear this. Beyond beautiful.
This is just...insanely awesome!!! Genius with a guitar, Jeff Beck. So sad to see you go!!! RIP💔
Love stumbling into UTube Beck clips as he proves time and time again he is thee Master Innovator I still remember how the Blow by Blow and Wired albums both smokers came out so close to each other in release
As a guitar player myself, Blow by Blow changed my perception of what an electric guitar can do!
absolutely! blow by blow marked a major shift in my music appreciation, as a teenager, but wired just blew my mind. it was my first step into the world of jazz fusion, and then led me to mahavishnu orch., larry coryell and eleventh house, cobham and ... well you get the idea. those two releases by beck were really important, pivotal moments for many of us.
@@brendanm.buckley7082 Yep, Blow by Blow was my introduction to jazz/rock fusion too!
My All Time Favorite Drummer is Back there on the Drums. Mr. Vinnie Coliauta. The Drummer Supreme.
Superb session drummer, vastly under-rated, video worth watching and listening for his contribution alone.
Yep. Vinnie is amazing.
Most musicians that played with Zappa were/are phenoms. Vinnie included. I like him with Beck very much. He's a monster on that kit. Such immense talent on that stage. Thank for the vid!
He's simply on another level of musicianship from normal guitarists
I can play just about anything on guitar, but I'm not going anywhere near Beck. I don't even think Steve Vai could do it justice.
@@po-tay-toe7920 ....Steve Vai would burn that silly toupee off old Jeff's head.
There's better guitarists than Jeff Beck. I'll take Tony Iommi any day if the week. And yes he will play Jazz much better than that

Never ceases to amaze. Always fresh. New. Expressive. Old songs, new life.
Jeff Beck is the most unique and innovative guitarist in rock. No guitarist plays like him because no other guitarist can. A joy to listen to and a wonder to watch! I always wondered how he got those sounds out of a guitar. Seeing him do it is amazing!
Awesome song and arrangement. Two legends and a great band. RIP Jeff Beck.
He is the best guitarist ever.
Yep. And our generation was blessed to grow up with him! My favorite since I first heard him with the Yardbirds when I was a young teenage guitar player. Yeah, he is the best. Thank you God for this small blessing.
Yes he is really something great

There will never be another Jeff Beck! Period!
I love how he emulates Ian Hammers Moog style it is so brilliant
Not just a one of a kind guitarist - but a one of a kind musician. I keep thinking of what Jimi might have done had he gotten to grow and evolve over the past 50 years like Jeff. But we had Jeff for all those years and musical adventures. We won't see another like him.
Vinnie C and Jason Rebello. Top-shelf all the way.
My god , the camera work is so good . This is mind blowing . The Greeks would have made Beck a god .
Simply the finest guitarist in the world 🤘
Classic Beck when he is trying to please someone he doesn't really care about. Better than studio. He's having fun, and so is Stanley Clarke.
le premier morceau est magnifique je ne m'en lasse pas que c'est beau merci Jeff ça fait du bien......
Incredible.........just INCREDIBLE!!!
One of a kind guitar player. He has got all the tools and has really created a style of playing completely unique and very technically difficult. You hear lots of guys playing Chuck Berry riffs, you don't hear too many trying to play Jeff Becks solos.
He's super hard to play convincingly. After 40+ years of playing I can do me some SRV, Gilmour, Walsh, Page, Blackmore, Knofler, Iommi, bla bla, but Jeff Beck has a deft touch that is truly unique. Although not the fastest nor the most 'popular', he certainly is very musical and in total control of the instrument. He crosses genres and creates interesting sounds like no other and is still a master of the instrument in his 70's. Truly devoted to the craft. He is revered among his peers for good reason.
Thank you for posting this video!!!!! How wonderful, LOVED IT!!!
I saw Jeff on the ..Guitar Shop tour, one of the best gigs i ever went to

incredible how 3 of best axe players came from the one group !
Phenomenal....... must be
Yet to hear someone cover his stuff. One of a kind .
Beck never misses a note. He is perfect!
Jeff Beck comes from my early schooling in guitar playing and is an originator and author of songs and of capabilities that are still a rare find even today. There are many more fine musicians out there than in my youth but it is what they do with their talents and also how long their career will be that will dictate that they can compare to Jeff Beck.
Jeff Beck is the Greatest living Electric guitarist. Even when Eddie Van Halen was around (God rest his soul and with much respect) Jeff has the stamina to endure through all of these years (since the sixties!) and through all of the great guitarists that have come and gone, he still is a shining star. He has always evolved and morphed in a way that is truly amazing, yet with complete style and grace. With Jeff there are no wrong notes, just notes that start out raw and turn into a diamond every single time! I don't like the comparison mentality, but with Jeff there is truly NO comparison.

That’s some superb technique and unreal playing! That’s a level of expression and creativity that most musicians strive for.
There will never be another Jeff Beck. He will be missed forever.
That 5th fret open flick at 10.11 is simply stunning by Beck
I got hooked on Beck ,simply never heard of him until I picked up "flash" at a secondhand CD store.
Its like certain sounds that he continually produces are the same sounds that I produce by mistake, but only for a split second, yet hes in complete control and is able to continue - obviously. He is the master bar none, so suttle and wickedly explosive. Then Buck Then Michael, IMHO. Rock on!
I can't remember who caught my attention first. Stanley Clark was always one of my favorites. To see them both together seems like a bit of magic.
Jeff seems to become more and more of legend every day since his recent passing. He loved hot rods. The recent portrayal of him working underneath an electric guitar on an auto lift will last me a lifetime. Thank you Mr. Beck!
EVERY TIME I HERE BECK IT'S FN SO DEEP IT'S 4 SURE SPIRITUAL!!!
LIKE HOW CAN SOMEONE BE SO GENIUS...
Truly magnificent artistry. Thank you Mr. Beck.
I was there in the audience in 2006 😃! So good!
Nothing like two old friends getting together for a jazz festival!
On THIS given night, this was the best band playing on planet 🌏...not sure what galaxy JIMI was playing in but HERE, these 4 were best😎
Jeff and Stanley taking each other to different places. Outstanding. I will always love what Jeff brought to us. RIP.
Jeff is SO lyrical - he has to be one of the best in the world at bender / dynamics on guitar. Love it! This wasn't a strong performance by Stanley. Solid work by Colaiuta and Taylor!
Yes. After Jeff's lead in, there's not much anyone can absorb anyway, after that. Not dissing Stan but, you know..
There was no guitarist on the planet that was anywhere near capable of doing what Jeff Beck did! He will be sorely missed!
Absolutely beautiful!
Jeff Beck's phrasing is so unique, it's unbelievable.
I've admired Jeff Beck for decades. I'll finally see him in Atlanta on October 1, 2022. I've seen Stanley Clarke twice.
Hello super fan !! Thanks for the love and support, Where are you watching from ?
No doubt Beck is phenomenal but I LOVE when he rocks out!
Amazing talent. Jeff always surrounds himself with the highest caliber of musicians.👍👍🇨🇦
I saw Jeff Beck twice, once with Jan Hammer and then with Jennifer Batten. I carried my jaw out with both hands both times. I saw Stanley Clarke in 2008 with Return to Forever. Any bass player that can stand up to Jeff Beck AND Al Di Meola...Sorry Tal Wilkenfeld. You're gorgeous and very talented but Stan's the man.

Stan is the Man! Saw him many years ago in Rochester N.Y. - RTF with Chick, Al & Steve Gadd..., sick concert!
But Tal.., Well, you're right..., she's Samokin' gorgeous and can plunk a might fine bass!
The first time I heard Jeff Beck was on the album " wired". And there's no doubt that he is hard wired. I have been a fan ever since that day. Jeff can best be described as totally unique in his style. Totally!
I don't think there's another guitarist out there who is as much a virtuoso with the whammy bar as Jeff Beck...
Steve Vai comes to mind too
Beck is #1🎸
@@BornToShred6900 close, “HE’S GREAT”..... BUT ‘NOPE’!!! LACKS Jeffs EMOTIONAL OUTPUT

When I was 13 a friend put Jeff Beck Wired on his insanely expensive stereo and before Led Boots, the first song was half over, I KNEW I wanted to be a guitar player. 45 years later I still can't play most of what he's done so I can tell you with some authority, his genius, his incomprehensible talent and guitar-musicality will NEVER be matched ever!
Me dad was a bass guitarist in the sixties, around Liverpool, playing with different bands…one time brought an album…journey to live by Stanley Clarke….what a bass guitarist
Just magic!
