I have known that Jeff Beck was a guitar player since I was a teenager in the 70s. But since I'm not a musician, I didn't follow his career. He was brought to my attention through a guitarist friend about 7 years ago. After seeing the "Moon River" video, I delved deeper and quickly became utterly enchanted with his talent - his ability to bring me to tears with the emotion he plays on his guitar. I have never heard anyone play the guitar the way he does. It's not his technical ability that separates him - it's the feeling he conveys through the instrument that is so incredibly moving. I'm so sorry that I discovered him just several years ago. I'm sorry that I never saw him perform live. But I am grateful for the treasure trove of music he made and has left for us all to enjoy forever. As I'm watching all these videos of his performances, unlike a lot of musicians - especially rock guitarists - Jeff's facial expressions show his love for the music and his respect for the other performers he is playing with. Labeling him as a rock guitarist seems unfair. I have seen videos of him performing just about every single genre of music there is - and doing it all with absolute joy and dedication to his craft. Jeff Beck is truly an anomaly - unique from all others. I hope his legacy lives on to inspire us all...

We're watching this days after his passing. We've been fans since his Yardbird days and were in the process of producing a video of our top five guitarists from 2022 when we heard the news. He was among those five even after over 50 years of listening to him. A sad day for music and guitar fans. We were founded on great guitar from any genre. And whether we're in the mood for rock, jazz, blues or rockabilly we can have us some Jeff Beck. He created more sounds from an electric guitar than anybody who ever picked one up. This was a great performance as always. Subdued and respectful but incredible at the same time. One of the greatest. Maybe the.

This has nothing to do with shredding or the rock star world. The emotion emanating from the stage is like an ocean wave washing over you. You can have technical dexterity but if there is no feeling then it is like listening to someone practice scales. Such a beautiful song with the 3 lead instruments ...and Jeff's solo is brilliant but his interplay in support of the music and the other musicians is off the charts. Just no ego as he sits and listens soaking up the music at the beginning and the little boy smile occasionally. He wanders on, plugs in his guitar with little fanfare to a small amp, bares his soul then meanders back into the shadows like a ghost. Perfect!!! He has left planet earth but he has left us with music gems like this. Thank you. Thank you to Ms. Corr for presenting Jeff like this and her fine musicianship.

I love it when Jeff Beck dials himself back a notch or two, and applies his talent to something beautiful. This was a very moving performance by all three musicians.

Irish music sometimes has this feeling of sadness or melancholy if you will. This song is very beautiful and imho has a vibe of melancholy. Great performances here and it's cool that you here both Violin and Uileann pipe. And Jeff knows exactly what to add to the song to take it to the next level.
Oh yes it's mournful with beauty in a way the great Yeats would recognise and contribute " for the world's too full of sadness than you can understand." Indeed it's no sweet melody, the women know of heartbreak and the world a vale of tears, "a terrible beauty is born."
@Please permit me to speak oh great one, well, you’ve got company. He’s my favorite guitarist but I can see very well where he’s just not for everybody. I will say this…if you’re not that familiar with him through the years, and you delve into his playing more, I think he’ll win you over. Jeff’s biggest fans are themselves guitar players, thus the “guitarists’ guitarist” label, because no one and I mean NO ONE can replicate the tones and textures he coaxes out of that Strat.
One of the greatest experiences of my life is seeing this truly spellbinding version of a sweet and mournful song. Sharon Corr is a phenomenally talented musician and a lovely & gracious woman. Great performance by the band on a song not easily done so well as they managed here.
Gaz Denny Being of both English and Irish lineage I could not agree more. All people are musical in one way or another, but the 2 groups we're discussing are in a class by themselves.
If I didn't know I was 5000 miles away on this night, I'd swear it was me givin up the big "WOW!" at the end of the tune. This is the best thing I've heard in a long, long time. Like the man says, "WOW!.
Great musicianship and a wonderful occurrence. A special mention please to the man on the Uilleann pipes - that sound for me is heart breakingly beautiful.
Music from heaven! Is there anything Jeff cant do or has not done. God he never stops amazing me and always finds these beautiful talented Women. Ok Jeff i am jealeous 😄 Much Love and respect ☝
I was fortunate to see Jeff Beck and SRV and Double Trouble live in Milwaukee October 1989. Phenomenal loud artistic songs 🎵 👌 😍 My standards of ear listening to 2 of the greatest!
I can’t express how privileged I am to have seen him live, it was truly amazing and luckily Vinnie was his drummer so I got a double bonus. I only wish I could have seen him more in person .
Praising Jeff is _not_ ignoring the other musicians, but the fact that the guy who played the blistering guitar solo on The Shapes Of Things with The Yardbirds in 1966 is accompanying a violinist & a piper on a heart-rendingly sweet folk melody in 2011 -- well, that's pretty noteworthy (to say the least). And more people -- I'd venture to say _many_ more -- got here for Jeff Beck (I'd never even _heard_ of Sharon Corr myself, and have been mining the unbelievably vast & rich lodes of Jeff Beck's work), so it's not _all_ that shocking that there's lots of praise for him here.
The very combination of these instruments played as well as they are put Ennio Morricone in my mind. For those of you who do not know who EM is, that is a super compliment! Purely magical!
Gracias Jeff por hacer mejor mi vida desde que te oi. Sólo espero que las nuevas generaciones te escuchen y oigan ése sentimiento que es la música que salía de su Vender. Por siempre.💕
Every time you think you are starting to to know something about making music with a guitar... as always, here comes Jeff Beck... back to remind you that you're just a trifler, after all. He's the best, for simple reasons: love of music and his instrument, dedication, and hard work.
His touring rhythm guitarist, at one point, Carmen Vandenberg, said, "He plays guitar all the time, like 8 hours a day. He plays while making breakfast." That is the kind of dedication it takes to rise to the very top (no matter what your skill is). Well, that, and a heavy dose of creativity, and a natural ability to get along with others doesn't hurt.
@@pleasepermitmetospeakohgre1504 Interesting. Most of the greatest guitar players in the world say Beck is unsurpassed. He's the guitarist that is the hero of all, guitar players. The best tone and technique of any guitarist since the mid 1960s. Of course, everyone is entitled to their own personal taste in things. There are people who prefer to eat dog caca, rather than a gourmet meal in a great restaurant. You seem to be the former.
@@pleasepermitmetospeakohgre1504 I’ve been playing guitar for about 56 years. Played my first pro gig in 1968. Packed it in about 7 years ago. Beck is considered, by just about every great guitarist on the planet, as one of their guitar heroes. That includes players from the sixties like Clapton, Page, Blackmore, McLaugchlin, Richards, and Gallagher through players in the 70s to 90s like Marr, May, Iha, Prince, Vai, DiMeola, Slash, Cobain, Knopfler, and Greenwood to current greats. Feel free to name any guitarist since the 1060s who wasn’t influenced by Beck. Name a single great guitarist alive today who would have him in their top three all-time. I get that your tastes aren’t developed enough to appreciate what he does. You probably don’t know enough about music, guitaring, And musical or guitar history, in order to realize how ridiculous your comment is… but trust me… you’re either a troll or an imbecile.
Marcus- I appreciate the range. He actually did take the spotlight dramatically when it was his time to solo. The rest of the time, as you say, he found a variety of ways to respectfully enhance their song.

@@artysanmobile You're one lucky stiff! Not everyone has that chance. I'm keeping the faith that you experience a reunion with these guys. These guys coming together to do a concert is incredible. ..Speechless!...Amazing! 👏🏻💙🌟🎸
Why add "and a beautiful woman" ? Did you add "and an ugly old git" for Beck? Nothing to do with anything!
@@hardlines5472 why do you even bother to comment my remark??
Beautiful. I can’t believe he’s gone.
You will live forever Jeff. Nobody, and I mean nobody, comes close. So sorry for Sandra. Paul Band Snr.
Sharon Corr is a phenomenally talented musician and a lovely & gracious woman. Great performance by the band on a song not easily done so well as they managed here.
A pure joy to listen to.Talent at its best.
Jeff smiled! What an honor to have Jeff Beck make your composition even better.
My wife is sitting here next to me and melts at his smile. Oh Boy!
Whose composition? Sean O'Riada had been dead for decades.
Sharon and the audience put it perfectly...Wow!
Talent is making the strings come alive with music. These two greats Jeff Beck and Sharon Corr..beautiful!!
The incredible Muslc and musicians that have sprung from the islands of Britain and Eire is phenomenal
This is a perfect melding of strings. Just blew me away. A beautiful song played by stellar musicians. Thank you for sharing.
Stunning.Hauntingly beautiful.What a trio!!!
Amazing to see how Sharon, a star of her own, is totally in awe of Jeff Beck, one of the true masters in modern music!!!
Great musicianship and a wonderful occurrence. A special mention please to the man on the Uilleann pipes - that sound for me is heart breakingly beautiful.
The piper is John McSherry...
Doesn't get more Irish than Uilleann pipes but i agree love that sound myself!
@@11tinbum11 A great piper!
@@11tinbum11 It's not John, it's me lol
If you like the pipes, try “Last of the Wilds”,by”Nightwish”. I’d call it metal with melody.Check it out.
Also a pleasure to see Jeff, tnx for this...
Music from heaven! Is there anything Jeff cant do or has not done. God he never stops amazing me and always finds these beautiful talented Women.
Ok Jeff i am jealeous 😄
Much Love and respect ☝
Love this. Her name is Sharon Corr!
Much loved and appreciated all over the world .....,just like Jeff Beck.
Best wishes David
@@marieeames7291 Thank you Marie
Bless your Heart
This sent shivers down my back. Absolutely brilliant. Jeff Beck my you rest in peace 🙏
I was fortunate to see Jeff Beck and SRV and Double Trouble live in Milwaukee October 1989. Phenomenal loud artistic songs 🎵 👌 😍 My standards of ear listening to 2 of the greatest!
Could this get any more transporting? Jayz Sharon n Jeff.....magical, beyond words.
I can’t express how privileged I am to have seen him live, it was truly amazing and luckily Vinnie was his drummer so I got a double bonus. I only wish I could have seen him more in person .
He is so good! We will miss him, but his music will stay forever. Goodbye Great Master!
Sharon Corr deserves SOME credit, too, as well as Jeff Beck.
Very true, a lovely, talented player. Charming too.
Jeff and Sharon doing that song Mna Na h'Eireann absolutly beautiful brought a tear to my eye absolutly phenomenal.😂
This is music.....to me. Thanks for sharing this piece with all of us Maestro Jeff Beck fans worldwide. Wonderful
Man this is so humble just sounds beautiful... fantastic musicians!!!
The very combination of these instruments played as well as they are put Ennio Morricone in my mind. For those of you who do not know who EM is, that is a super compliment! Purely magical!
You're so right, like Jeff, EM was another genius.
Totally awesome. It's amazing to be on the same planet as Jeff Beck, just imagine what it's like on the same stage.
Gracias Jeff por hacer mejor mi vida desde que te oi. Sólo espero que las nuevas generaciones te escuchen y oigan ése sentimiento que es la música que salía de su Vender. Por siempre.💕
Jeff plays so well with others...what a great interaction of styles melded together,,,,quite simply put....beautiful
Not really a fan of this guys playing if I'm honest. Have heard a lot better.

Interesting.
@@SheepOnDrugz
Your taste is poor then, and you obviously don't play guitar if you seriously think he's one of the best guitarists since the 60s.
@@pleasepermitmetospeakohgre1504
I’ve been playing guitar for about 56 years.
I have no words to say,coz music is beyond the words..just listen.
Que joya por Dios!!....Ninguna duda, Jeff Beck en el podio de los mejores de la historia.
Wow! Can't think of any good words to do this performance justice! Wow is best I can do!
Simply dazzling! HIs playing is as beautiful as she is!
What a great setting to see a Jeff in. One of the all time greatest guitarists.
Indeed he is a very special soul . And he picks up souls along the way.
What a craftsman. Typical Beck - step on, enhance someone else's material rather than smother it with ego and politely leave! That's why he's "great".
Marcus David Yes, he has nothing to prove. Just pure music.
Marcus- I appreciate the range. He actually did take the spotlight dramatically when it was his time to solo. The rest of the time, as you say, he found a variety of ways to respectfully enhance their song.
Definitely! No ego-tripping here. Classy guy through and through! Looks like Sharon is honored to have him perform. I would be too. Music is really gooood!
Petr Slivinski I just had the opportunity last week to work with his favorite colleague Rod Stewart. They are off to do a whole month together in the U.K. in November. How awesome is that?! I’m hoping they will bring that joy to us here in America soon after. I saw them together in 1969 or 1970 and will never forget it.

You're one lucky stiff! Not everyone has that chance. I'm keeping the faith that you experience a reunion with these guys. These guys coming together to do a concert is incredible. Beck with his guitar playing is a moment to enjoy and Corr with her violin is beautiful: what a combo for a memorable evening. Cheers guy!
I was there and this song brought tears to my eyes!!! AMAZING!!
Sharon is the best!
I recognized the song as the opening theme to the film "Barry Lyndon", but I never knew its name or origin. I only remembered its haunting beauty. And I certainly never expected to hear Jeff Beck play it. I am blown away.
How can you give this a thumbs down! This is utterly amazing.
cnniz fakenewz People do that just to see this tired response. Get over it and maybe they’ll stop.
Seen him , recently, a couple times, and, she's right. Totally awesome is scratching the surface watching a virtuoso. Here, you get to see two.
Hypnotic. Enchanting. Magical.
this is why his music is so beautiful...he is a beautiful soul.
Quite right. And when did you see a great musician grin at all let alone a few times as he helps make truly brilliant. If anyone were to ask me why Beck is my favourite musician I'd put this in front of them, press Play and say, 'This!'
Awesome, one of my favorite Jeff Beck songs.Sharon was wonderful and Jeff was Jeff . Rest in peace my brother .
Loving this - what a lovely tune, played with great feeling !
Well said Marcus, Beck is a sympathetic accompanist and so lyrical be can move you to tears. As a patriotic Briton from a Welsh/Irsih/family I feel enormously one to what this sort of stuff can do. "We are not worthy moments all over the shop" indeed Sharon. Chapeaux.
Just bought a new Sony headphone , i had forgotten how bloody good Jeff Beck really is, wonderful technician , has to be the best guitarist that Britain has produced , thank you Sony.
Still miss you Jeff, always will, the most creative guitar player of all time, bar none. Wish you were still with us Jeff.
This takes the love of the craft to another level - paradise -Jeff you are and still the Benchmark for the Guitarist out there every time you play is Magical he's an had another player of Extra Special musical soul in the fraternity
I've been listening to Jeff Beck since the first "Jeff Beck Band." ( I was at the mercy of my older sisters) :). He does though just get better and better ....and better. Such a treat to have grown up with this most talented and compromising of musicians. If it's a sound to be found on an electric guitar, he will.
Probably longer than that: didn't your sisters listen to The Yardbirds? In '66 ("The Shapes Of Thhgs") he was their guitarist (between Clapton & Page).
This is what is called chemistry on stage, awsome
why oh why did this beautiful man take so long to come to my attention
WOW! First time I have heard this combination and I LOVE it! The combination of pipes, violin and Beck is unbeatable. (Incidently IMHO, with far more subtlety than Hendrix alone ,much as I might like and respect him. )
