I think you guys might've misread Bess a bit. You said that casting increasing devotion makes her a 6/6 but her ability to put counters on herself says "whenever one OR MORE creatures with base power toughness...". Still seems pretty good but you have to spread out the tokens you make.

Love this series. I'd also be interested in a 5 episode series where you really break down each of your ranking categories. Like, what's a 10 in coolness to you compared to a 1? What are some things you'd like to see in terms of fun or uniqueness? Are fun and power correlated? etc.
Kros is an interesting design. I like the idea of using old cards like Musician and Magnetic Web to put unique counters on other player's creatures

Of course, as we all know, the best aspect of The Beamtown Bullies is *without a doubt* the _superb_ combo potential with Brash Taunter and Infinity Elemental!

Anhelo works great with Poppet Stitcher, you basically have no other set up requirements to copy EVERY instant and sorcery spell. I think the trigger won't allow the casualty to work off the newly created zombie, but every other one afterwards will have free doubleups.
Bennie Bracks looks like he was supposed to be green, from being a zoologist, to an elf druid, to the card draw
That evidence is strong, though I think white still makes sense; categorizing flora and fauna is a big part of ~animal science~ (saying that as a non scientist) and that’s a type of structure, which white is all about

I gotta look up Bant cards with -1/-1 or other negative effects that can target opponent's creatures. Contagion Clasp and Infect creatures are the first things that come to mind.

A little late to the video, but I’m so glad Perrie got the fedora he so desperately deserved. 10/10 for Joes Doofenshmirtz impressions.
Tivit, Seller of Secrets. On body protection with Ward 3 is great, and the fact that it makes 5 treasures on etb and on damage is also great, that's infinite turns with Time Sieve, which is why that card's price is spiking atm. I don't think I'll toss it in there because not trying to play that way personally. I wanted to build it around the voting mechanic but there are only 17 voting cards in Esper and not all of them are viable options for the meta I play in. So I have decided to focus more on the artifacts and added a bit of blink effects for repetition on the etb's the deck has. Brago, Yorion, Thassa, Conjurer's Closet are all in there. Sakashima and Spark Double are also there for doubled effects. With Academy Manufactor out it doesn't matter what people vote because you end up getting 5 treasures, 5 food and 5 clues. With effects like Filigree Angel you gain 45 life (this has gained me over a few hundred life easily with how many times I was blinking the Filigree Angel, so Aetherflux Reservoir could be useful as well?) , or Cyberdrive Awakener you'd have 15x Flying 4/4s if they are not summoning sick, or the same but without flying with Rise and Shine. Marionette Master or Nadier's Nightblade for some artifact artistocrats-y synergy also works well. I am considering keeping Kamiz in the deck since it would either allow for Tivit to pass through, or if he is in the clear, connect twice with double strike and netting more artifacts. I am really hoping that Wizards print more voting cards in the future because they'd be super fun to toss into the deck.

I dont really see how Henzi is a 10 for fun. Sure slamming some big threats is always fun, but the only thing he really does is ramp you a bit. Seems a bit plain to me.
Except you can build the deck in a way where you play various effects that reduce the cost of your creatures. It's easy to cast your 6 drops for 2 mana. The deck can also get into some cool loops. It's not a busted commander but it's being underrated imo

Important thing to note when using Sundial of the Infinite with Henzie - if you blizted in a creature, DO NOT activate Sundial of the Infinite during your second main phase. You have to wait until the blitz "sacrifice it at the beginning of the next end step" trigger hits the stack at the beginning of your end step. Otherwise, the trigger will reappear at the beginning of the next player's end step and the creature will die. I learned this the hard way with a similar commander (Rionya, Fire Dancer).
Henzie would have been a great opportunity to reprint Grave Titan and bring the price down a little bit. I'm definitely getting the Riveteers precon though!

For Henzie and Sundial of the Infinite, it's worth noting the "draw a card when this dies" clause off Blitz doesn't end at end of turn (presumably because the creature is supposed to be dead). If you Sundial to keep your blitz creatures and you get wrathed three turns later, you get to draw a card for all those creatures.

Denry works really well with persist/undying creatures, could go infinite with a sac- mana altar.
Tivit can go infinite turns easily with Time Sieve.
I think the best way to make Syrix is ignoring the “target creature “ and just treating it as “Syrix deals damage…” because Phoenix Tribal sucks but Reassembling Skeleton does more for Syrix than nearly any other Phoenix could.
I was going to go with a Taurean Mauler or Venomous Changeling to control the board a bit. Also infect wincon is on the table too. Power wise probably nothing too special, I'm seeing like a midrange deck that can pick off some small important creatures can be a big deal. Something like Sunstreak Phoenix and Viscera Seer seem okay for the setup
A guess about the design of Denry Kiln. Green was probably excluded because getting first strike counters on deathtouchers is really good. Great video so far.
I'm thinking of an Oscar deck that discards cards to give "flash" to non instant spells

@@gypsieking3280 I'm not 100% on it, but I believe bc it's a cast and not play it doesn't follow timing restrictions. If not then etali, primal storm could only cast instant spells off the top

pro tip for anyone thinking of stuffing dauthi voidwalker in a mari deck: i wouldn't. it's a replacement effect, which will exile any creatures that would die before mari can "see" they died, and you won't get the hit counters. and on top of that, a good thing to note is that because mari's effect ISN'T a replacement effect, dies triggers still happen. she sees the creatures go to the yard from the field, and then exiles them, where the voidwalker sees any card that would go to the yard, and exiles it instead, never actually hitting the yard. mari won't hose self-mill or discard decks, though she kinda half-hoses aristocrats. they still get all the good dies triggers but will only get to do it once, and definitely can't do any infinite sac combos with her on the board (which, most have as a wincon usually). of course, you can always stuff ya boi in there anyways for the extra value, and he is a rogue, BUT the only time that'll likely matter much is when mari's on the field at the same time, which is a huge non-bo as stated in the beginning. if you do include him, i would sac him with his second ability before you want to start putting hit counters on things. in any way though, mari's still gonna be an absolute menace, with or without the voidwalker in the deck. definitely keep an eye on that player at the table.
tivit is such a cool commander and is honestly THE time sieve commander. gives you 5 artifacts on ETB as long as you have a standard pod, so thow in some blink and infinite turns!
I don't see me tapping vazi to give treasure, but I do see myself casting her as a hate piece, treasures are so rampant now that you never have to tap her to draw a card
Yea. I think she has some mileage there too if your meta is rocking treasures.

Kros works if you're putting -1/-1 counters or other types of weird counters on your opponents' stuff too. You don't have to buff them. This might be good for a surprise infect strategy with proliferate, especially with G/U. Bennie Bracks is totally Newt Scamander. They should have had Bennie's Suitcase as an artifact that can store creatures. Seeing Balthor brings back memories. He was my very first Commander. I already had a 100+ card all-black Halloween deck. So I modified it so that it was 100 cards and Balthor was my Commander because the Command Zone gets around exiling him. Kitt Kanto's deck adds a bunch of new cards for the Mardi Gras deck I'm working on. Anhelo would be perfect if I wanted to create a Vampire: The Masquerade Toreador theme deck. Since he's Grixis, you can use all of the Prismari art-themed cards.

Yeah, about your comments on Syrix....I have a phoenix tribal-ish deck with Tevesh Szat/Dargo at the helm, and uh, they're stronger than you think they are.
I would suggest to rethink the power level of tivit. I play him in my blink artifact deck and its absolutely terrifying. People concede just looking at my clue and treasure army. Nadiers nightblade, tezeret master of bridge, cyberdrive awakener, expropriate... Sooo many win cons. I won all of my last 4 matches in PL8 EDH. Not even talking about a 6/6 flying ward 3. Brutal commander.
Oskar seems like fun especially because if you have instant speed discard any nonland card effectively has flash

Anehlo + twinning staff = gg. Basically 2 free copies and it's not even limited to your own turn, its "Each turn". Tested it out in MTG Forge and it's brutal quick. Magecraft stuff loves him too. The new inistrad sets have some great 2/2 token generators that help anhelo go off every turn.

Also, Jolene's pumping move could be a pump-handle slam, especially since she is handling stolen goods!
I think Oskar is way stronger than a 3, if you go for more of a stax deck. He breaks parity with cads like oppression and chains of Mephistopheles or any other card that forces discard. You can play all sorts of other wheel synergy cards too and probably make a really strong deck. I've even seen some cEDH lists floating around

I have no idea why but when Joe didn't realize that ozkar was reclaiming rubbish that's why he casts stuff from the graveyard not that he was rubbish really annoyed me more than it should have.
Denry Klin can enter as a 4/4 as that triggered ability triggers for Denry too. Nontoken clause makes it a slightly less powerful Cathars' Crusade, but 1 CMC less to cast.
As far as gangster therapists go, you should check out “The Sopranos” and “Analyze This.”
Tivit also goes infinite with Time Sieve. I didn't see them mention this.

I think Tivit’s power level is a bit higher than you rated him. He goes infinite fairly easily and he works extremely well with any of the fair blink cards as well.
Idk why but Vazi is like one of my favorite cards for whatever reason. I like her suspenders and that was enough lol.

Sadly Bess doesn't get five +1/+1 with a card like Increasing Devotion because of the clause "one or more", so it will only get one. So it's even weaker than you thought
I think personnaly that you underestimed Kitt Kanto. This card with an amount of token can break your opponents and make an area of anger. This commander is strong in normal commander game with 6-7 power
Anhelo seems like the closest analog to The Joker that MTG has created.

I was SO very disappointed with Syrix. I have a mono-red phoenix tribal sitting in my commander box, but I don't want to use it because it is so clunky. Its like trying to play bears before Ayula was printed.

These lists would be so much better if the "coolness" category was removed completely. Everything else has to do with actual gameplay, but a card could be fun, have great artwork, and be powerful, and still fall down the list because it gets a "2" on some insignificant category about lore...

have been testing with Tivit and OMG is he a house. takes a silly politics deck from janky to a real threat. opponents get stuck trying to answer him when he pays for his own commander tax and just can play him again next turn. also play him with Inspiring Statuary and just play all the spells in your hand in one turn.
