Been waiting for this one for a LONG time I've been subbed to you nerds since way back last June, but I wanted to wait for this message on my birthday because the nerds ALWAYS wish a happy frickin birthday to everyone whose birthday it is. Very few channels have the engagement and charisma to hold me for this long and this channel has almost single handedly pulled me back into Magic and straight into commander. I'm still working out kinks to play consistently but I'm super excited to find a good playgroup and try it out Thank you nerds. As soon as I find myself another job I'll be financially supporting you as well
My favorite creature for Kamiz is Spawning Kraken, even when its the only Sea Monster in the deck it is insane. You choose it to be unblockable with Connive and it turns into a 7/7, makes a 9/9 Kraken and next turn you can jump up to choosing the 9/9 to be unblockable, and the 7/7 to have double strike. It’s very likely you are making at least two more 9/9’s from there, copy Kamiz and there is your win.
I really like lazav the multifarious in this deck. He adds an additional layer of fun, when he is on the field and has some nice targets with the other creatures in the deck, especially since kamiz lets you discard.
Great video y'all. I think the only cuts I disasgree with are Cephalid Facetaker, Obscura Charm, Currency Converter, and possibly Dusk//Dawn. Cephalid Facetaker - You're copying the best attack ability on the field, including your opponents' creatures. It'll also be your double striker. Obscura Charm - IMO this card is just way too versatile to cut. You mentioned not having enough counters, and there's one built in here. The first mode can also be relevant based on build (revive Thief of Sanity, Satoru, Shadowmage, etc.). The third mode is helpful removal. Currency Converter - You're basically discarding a card every turn, and this is a way to turn those discards into treasures or Rogue tokens for FREE. The loot ability probably won't be used much, but it can help if you're digging out of a hole. Dusk//Dawn - I pretty much only use the Dawn side, so I can see why you cut it. However, it's an easy way to get more value off of what you discard and creatures that died. On average I'm getting back about 3-4 creatures every time it's cast.
Don't understand the hate for Facetaker? Have it become a guaranteed unblockable double strike of any of your good combat damage triggers? Imagine hitting them with a Lord of the Void or wrexial or silent blade oni double strike that is basically guaranteed with only needing your commander in play as well as one of the previously mentioned creatures
I Said this last video, they Just want easy content without actually studying the precon/card interaction A shame, I was feeling a huge potential in this Channel, not the First time I got disapointed
Shhhhh! I want to be able to buy a bunch of them for a cheaper cost. I don't mind if they poop on this card. If the cost of the card drops, the better it will be for me.
@@gutofercos just because someone doesn’t like a card certainly doesn’t mean they only reach for easy content. Sounds like you have issues that have nothing to do with this, and it’s projecting here. Hope you figure it out friend. Remember, when you have a library of 20,000+ cards to choose from, not everyone will see them equally. If you don’t like their opinion, that’s ok. I have managed to build it up around infinite turns, with Tivit, Time sieve, Medomai and Satoru (but it actually gets boring after a few times cuz you are playing alone basically). But Kaito Shizuki its a good card to add. When you get the emblem, whenever you deal damage with a creature (commander makes one unblockable and another double strike) you can search your library for any blue or black creature and then put it on the battlefield. You are basically adding so much value to the table.
I think on the note of wonder, glory and filth are good semi budget adds for the deck. So excited to try building a deck with these upgrades, I've wanted a combat damage trigger commander for a while and this one looks great.
One of the cards that i think is the best cheaper card that wasn't added in this upgrade is the ghost of ramirez de pietro, it turns connive into pure draw a card, and you can just get the best card back out of your yard. Since he already comes with an unblockable clause, he just gets better if you slap double strike on him. Also, since we're on a budget, varragoth is another thing i think people should be considering, a repeatable demonic tutor, that we are able to get back out of our yard with various connive synergies. Also i think you guys are very wrong about identity theft, you can stack the attack triggers so you can double up your relevant attack triggers, this is the kind of deck for the card. I think the general curve is still too high, 3.54 is slow, gotta get that down to 3-3.20 imo
I'm not a fan of quietus spike because it cost 3 mana and equip is also 3 mana, so you wont drop it on turn 3 , you gonna drop a creature and you are not gonna drop it on turn 4 because that is when commander is getting in. Instead of spike I would put in vorpal sword, why cut your opponent in half when you can cut him whole. Also drumbellower and dowsing dagger are great addition to the deck
Shout-out to Moxfield Tags! Tags are the best tool in the multiverse for deck building. I see people go on EDHrec and try to build around a commander. They say 'I put in the three enchantments, four artifacts, 7 sorceries, and 5 instants it said a deck for this commander should have'. But that misses the point. You need to measure your removal, your card draw, your ramp. Tags make that possible. Moxfield is the best.
I've been doing this stuff mentally for years. Like with a notepad and a calculator and my brain. It's not a hard as you think and you learn your deck waaaay more than any website will ever allow. Admittedly, it takes time, but it's the worth it. It feels good to know you didn't need to have your hand held thru the building process.
should I throw in midnight pathlighter? He make everything unblockable except by legendary creatures and I think that's really good since we are focusing combat tricks
I tossed this guy, raffine and toluz in my Sefris cycle/reanimator deck. Probably not worth, but very fun getting an unblocked big boy and a double striking archon of cruelty.
You can ninjutsu an unblocked card in and then ninjutsu it out after it deals damage. And then on the second turn you ninjutsu in medomi, and get another turn. Then do that infinite times
I was confused as to why the Counsels dilemma alternate commander managed to stay in. Am I missing something or is it synergistic and I just didn't know it was.
When it enters OR deals combat damage, its enables the voting. If you have double strike on it (from Kamiz) itll activate twice each turn. Therefore netting you up to 9 votes since you can vote an additional time.
Why does everyone hate Identity Thief? It's absurdly brilliant and broken??? You can essentially exile your opponents creature under your control, and guarantee fewer blockers (or none) and deal more damage using their own creature. It's just a cheap solid creature removal turn after turn if your synergies with commander and unblocking/flying haven't synced up yet. Explain to me why it's considered bad. Also Strionic Resonator, you don't even want to know how many games I've just obliterated with that as a combo with the precon cards. Tivet or whatever that high mana card is which causes opponents to vote on Treasure or Investigate tokens, I've amassed like 10 tokens a time on the field and just farmed an extra 6 mana minimum per turn due to retriggered its effect. And you're hating on Profrane Command, but I've paired that with the huge mana ramp I can build and just tapped 18 mana and dealt 18 damage to 1 player, and either just nuked the best card on the field or gave myself something tanky/combo that I've discarded
Yes, quite unfortunate. I know personally I’ll be cutting my commander precon purchases down to maybe one a year now. Absolutely not worth keeping up with this product anymore.
No this is false, as WotC no longer publishes MSRP you have to rely on mass markets to get an accurate price tag. These decks were all at my local Barnes and Noble for $49.99* and LGS for $45.99* on the day of release. (*plus tax in PA, USA)
Yeah, I ended up finding these decks for about 50 dollars, no clue where Joe and Beezy bought any of these decks for 60 dollars, but that place ripped them off.
