Happy birthday, Vita. 🍰 🤗 Wow! The grill makes a perfect birthday 🎉 gift. First, scrape the surface rust down with a wire brush and water. Then get it hot and cure it with cooking grease or lard. The surface should soak up the oil from the lard and seal it. You can make a wood leg guide by nailing four 2X4" boards into a rectangle or a rectangular piece of plywood. Drill four holes the diameter of the thickness of the grill legs, slide/hammer the wood onto the legs. Take four empty and cleaned tin cans and place each leg into a can each. This will keep the legs from sinking into the ground. To travel with it, use a pipe wrench, (sometimes referred to as a monkey wrench) to unscrew the legs. A metal mesh once lay on the bolts protruding into the fire pit. The metal grill should be stored inside your shed, if you aren't needing to use it.
You did such a wonderful job with your pallets on making your bench.. I was holding my breath when you were walking through the Russian dugs you are very brave Ukrainian woman 🙏
That grill you found in your yard, I think its designed to hammer the 4 metal rods into the ground until its stable and stands on its own. Be safe, thank you for the updates!

Vita! You use that little scythe so much it probably needs sharpened. It's a special little stone on a handle just for sickles/ scythes.. $3-5 and easy to do. The hatchet you use a file and then a special puck shaped axe stone. Oh, If you ever se a doorbell on a tree out there in the woods, don't press it.. the Ukrainians blew up a curious orc or two who could't help themselves. 😅 ❤ 🇺🇸

A real war time journalist taking risks (you could fall some distance, be hit by a mine or other unexploded in ordinance, get waylaid by displeased SBU patrols) going into"forbidden territory" showing earlier times Russian bunkers and more. This segment was fascinating! So Kyiv is getting emptier as numerous "Chicken Kyivians" have fled their city. Yes from the Russian point of view Russians are rightfully very angry and vengeful about the Kursk incursion killing civilians and aiming (while failing)to threaten the Kursk nuclear plant. That is terrorism, so Kyiv will be under serious threat eventually and even now a bit. I'm not saying Ukrainians aren't without cause from their point of view with justifiable grievances as well. Still Russia won't target the civilian (unless as collatoral damage) if too close to centers of power, energy and military stuff. If you can cope with the power cuts and sirens, then you may as well stay. Great to see your son visiting and helping you in your village garden! I suppose you made enough improvements to take him. May be the power cuts in Kyiv mean he isn't missing out on too much electronic gaming ( thinking of my same age grandson), allowing him to follow his conscience in helping you and be some company too. Vita! You use that little scythe so much it probably needs sharpened. It's a special little stone on a handle just for sickles/ scythes.. $3-5 and easy to do. The hatchet you use a file and then a special puck shaped axe stone. Oh, If you ever se a doorbell on a tree out there in the woods, don't press it.. the Ukrainians blew up a curious orc or two who could't help themselves. 😅

A real war time journalist taking risks (you could fall some distance, be hit by a mine or other unexploded in ordinance, get waylaid by displeased SBU patrols) going into"forbidden territory" showing earlier times Russian bunkers and more. This segment was fascinating! So Kyiv is getting emptier as numerous "Chicken Kyivians" have fled their city. Yes from the Russian point of view Russians are rightfully very angry and vengeful about the Kursk incursion killing civilians and aiming (while failing)to threaten the Kursk nuclear plant. That is terrorism, so Kyiv will be under serious threat eventually and even now a bit. I'm not saying Ukrainians aren't without cause from their point of view with justifiable grievances as well. Still Russia won't target the civilian (unless as collatoral damage) if too close to centers of power, energy and military stuff. If you can cope with the power cuts and sirens, then you may as well stay. Great to see your son visiting and helping you in your village garden! I suppose you made enough improvements to take him. May be the power cuts in Kyiv mean he isn't missing out on too much electronic gaming ( thinking of my same age grandson), allowing him to follow his conscience in helping you and be some company too. Is your charming kitten a Norwegian Forest Cat? Wishing you the best!
