Alocasias for sure. My Pink Dragon and Maharani's got sunburned in too much light. They are all off to the side of south facing windows and are doing very well there.
My Monstera Siltipecana seems to be happy in a lower light setting. I appreciate plants that are both beautiful and tolerant of different lighting situations.
Greetings from Claremont,NC ! I enjoy watching your videos . I’ve had good and bad luck with agloenemas but find they do well in low light. I have a white rain one that is doing well right now .
I grow some Hoya in lower light and they do well. Also rhipsalis and zz zamicro. The zamicro is pretty hard to find but does great in low light. Zz zenzi I’ve found needs more light. Peperomia, rhaphidophora and asparagus ferns also do great. Hawarthias can take lower light.
Good morning Ashley! I learned the hard way on the importance of grow lights. I've been using the two-strip grow light from Amazon ($20). Their doing its job but I want to see on the light bulbs next. I heard HausBright is really good. We shall see. Have a fantastic weekend.
Great video Ashley. I'm very fortunate that I don't have low light conditions anywhere in my home, but if we do get that rare cloudy day, I'm ready. I have the GE Par38 Light Bulbs strategically placed thru out my home. But I do know of one that does not like direct sunlight and does great in the shade, sago palms. Dappled light is fine, but they crisp up in direct sun.
Thanks! I just bought a grow lamp and more on the way. I'll be working on a small plant room which has a large window with Eastern light. So hoping the plants do well in there.
I know people with high humidity that require mold resistant drywall, paint, and use a dehumidifier. Where I am located up north, mold would spore in high humidity. The only way I would be able to keep tropical plants would be in a greenhouse or something of the sorts.
Thanks for sharing. Great informative video. With your great assortment of plants, how do you handle repotting, soil mix, water (filter or tap water) and bugs?
ASHLEY! HOW DO YOU GET ALL OF THESE AMAZING RARE PLANTS.... I sorta got into the hobby about 6 months ago, and I've totally been enthralled by rare plants.. but they're so EXPENSIVE!!!! how and where do you get them? lol
I have a Hoya Chelsea & it's in a South window. But had a carnosa princess in a westish& it did well. I have a aglaonema & it's been everywhere in my house. It did well in the lower light. I haven't has good look with the micans 🤦🏾♀️🙁🤷🏾♀️ but just got another one🙏🏾
I would love to see a video one day on all your plants and how they were when you purchased them VS now. If that makes sense. It's almost like a then and now video. Where you see how much the plant has grown since getting it VS how it is currently.
I only have north and south facing windows except for one and it is a west facing. I have had to get creative. Lol my bedroom only has north but my problem is that I like it cold in there like 50 to 65. I would love to have plants in there but scared to freeze them out lol. Any suggestions on that lol
Do know which rare plant does well in an office setting? I’m far from a window so all I have is florescent lighting in the office, the lighting is about 70 foot candles and humidity is about 30-40% average. I would like to bring one of my rare/ non common plants however I don’t want to risk any of them dying without knowing. Thanks!!!
Rare low light plant Homalomena Maggie. I have it on a top shelve, medium size plant. Growing very large leave but needs humidity for the leaves as they are fin leaves.
Just wondering where that great greenhouse/ nursery is? Maybe an address? We’re visiting our daughter in Va. and we’re thinking about making a road trip to North Carolina, I’m thinking around Charlotte. If it’s not too far out of the way I would like to visit some plant shops around the area because I have almost nothing in my area for house plants.💚🙃💞
I prefer these informative videos. More than all the hauls / thrift ones.
Thank you for your work!
Thx! 🪴
For any Canadians here, I use Globe 100w equivalent Led daylight bulbs for $4 from dollarama and have never had so much winter growth in my life. 🌱👏
Love!
So do I!!
Ive never bought a “plant grow light”. Ive been using the Amazon Brite White basic light bulbs you put in a normal house lamp/ceiling fixture.
thank you for this!! I always thought the rare ones need a lot of light so I never even think about it!! Also love the earrings 💕
Thanks Katalina!
Love aglaonema!! Any variety. Such a wonderful plant 🪴 to grow. Great video Ashley 💕

Aspidistra (cast iron plant). You can get pretty variegated ones or the Milky Way variety that looks like a star studded galaxy 💚🌿
Calatheas! absolutely love them 😍😍😍

You're plant room is looking so awesome 👍👍.. thanks for the great info!!
Thanks Jamie!
Love the information new to the page
I think grow lights are helpful but dislike the pink glow. Glad you have found white ones that work.
Agree, I like the ones that have a more natural look
I love your channel and info. Thankyou
Thanks you Vania!

@@LifewithAshleyAnita, that's the snake plant, right?

I get ya, I love plants but like to keep my bedroom cool 😉
They would probably be fine with 65, but you are right that usually warm is best
Thanks for this video ❤❤❤❤
Thanks for watching! 🪴
What humidifier do you use in your plant room? I'm looking to upgrade mine!
I use Kyvol, and elechomes
@@LifewithAshleyAnita Thank you!!

Is it ok to use grow light bulbs in fixtures in people rooms (vs designated plant rooms)?

i love watching your videos
Thanks Linda!
I've found that Aglaonemas get a lot smaller foliage in lower light
Thx for the info!
Great video 🌿🌿🌿
Thank you Joy!
Not me having my alocasia frydrek by the window and under a grow light 😬😬
Is this why her leaves look droopy???
Maybe!
@@LifewithAshleyAnita
With my A. Frydek it gets droopy when its getting ready to put out a new leaf
I was wondering if your Dragon Jade would be considered to be a lower light plant or not?
Hmm I’m not sure, I’ve had it in a higher light situation, but I’m sure it would be ok with medium light
What humidifier do you use please. I love your channel I’m a crazy planty lady too
Kyvol and Elechomes
💚💚
I have philadron xanadu I guess mines dont need alot of light?

My three Hoya plants died. They don't like low light.
I love your earring. Please let me know where you get them
