    This is a tough case. Obviously, the evidence points to her, but isn't it too convieniently pointing towards her? I mean, she could have been framed all along. But , obviously, we won't know for sure.
    I just think, that a death sentence is too intense right now, since i can't be definitely said that it was her.

    • @SnowAnayathatweirdgirl
      @SnowAnayathatweirdgirl 3 года назад +49

      The better choice is life in prison. I don't agree with the death penalty for the what you said. There's no set evidence so sentencing someone to death on those terms is wrong.

      @basil6076 3 года назад +36

      THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING LIKE MAYBE SHE WAS FRAMED, but her other crimes are too much to make it NOT her, idek if Life or Death is better then the other, like... killing ppl especially kids? No! Not ok!

    • @kyo3277
      @kyo3277 3 года назад +25

      I agree I mean, it was her husband that was messing around with that kind of poison isn't it ? if she's just a normal person how could she knew arsenic was letal ? and how much to put in the pot ? no one's talking about him, in my point of view he does have a motive, if they tried to kill people in the past because of money.. **specifically** life insurance benefits, he might wanted to get rid of her too since she would probably eat the curry as well, but the fact that she didn't eat it's also strange, as if she knew what was going to happen. Anyways just my opinion cause I feel we have few to no information on the case.
      Edit: I forgot this bit... she DID try to kill her husband... maybe revenge as well ?

    • @jayennegiselle1836
      @jayennegiselle1836 3 года назад +11

      @@kyo3277 Yeah, if she didn't know that the curry was poisonous,then why didn't she have it too? Her husband was the chemist and as you said,she didn't have any idea on how much to put to kill a person. I think the husband and her both planned this or she's the one who did it. He may have given her the Arsenic or she herself took it and hence didn't know the amount to put in. Like almost 1Kg seems to be too much..It's almost like she didn't know what she was doing and just put however she wanted to. Or that he told her to put in that much and the husband guided her but only she was caught. Her getting the chemical herself seems weird as how would she know what's Arsenic and how much to put in so that it becomes lethal and also how will Masumi have the access to the lab?

    • @tasie8352
      @tasie8352 3 года назад +11

      Exactly. Idk but like If I was a murderer, If she was a murderer herself who was planning to never admit it, Why'd she be so OBVIOUS about it??! Like why'd she use the arsenic from her husband's place Or be careless about anyone witnessing her And attempt to kill so many people without a motive as of lives are jokes? Why'd she think she won't get caught? Idk but for a murderer who's capable of poisoning so many people without a proper reason, I think all of the suspicioun were too obviously pointing to her. If she was such a criminal, I personally think she would've been more careful and have thought smarter. But again, maybe she's a old lady so she doesn't know much about how dna and stuffs work. Also, I'm also confused why she didn't eat it but maybe she was just a cook or smth who makes dishes for guests??! But still, using the same poison your husband sell is just Too obvious

    I was on the fence until you said she tried to kill her husband. As for the son, I would be careful with believing him. While family can be insightful and provide a lot of helpful information, they are biased at the end of the day. I would love to hear what other people in her life had to say. Honestly, this is just one of those cases where any interviews with her would be fascinating to listen to

    • @MorellaReborned

      Exactly! And how did she try to kill the husband? How did they figure it out? And yes, the kid was 11yo, but the husband for sure had to know something was off, right? Idk, the whole thing seems suspish for me mainly because apparently the husband was never in the picture, when he is also accused of the other murders, the arsenic was his, and well, he must've know she tried to kill him, right?

    Terry, you've hit on the perfect genre and length for your videos! I follow many true crime creators on YT, but most of them have gotten so long-winded that I give most of their content a miss these days It's fine if you're in the mood for a (very) deep dive of a certain case, to take time to watch a 5 hour presentation in three parts, but usually I'd rather just hear the bare bones, in a clear and concise manner, and dude, you've already got that nailed. Thanks, and I'll be tuning in to all of your true crime stuff for sure.

    If she really did murder 3 people before, then she would have alot of experiance and not have soo many evidences pointing at her. For all we know, a person could have framed masumi, the husband could've also done the poisoning. They should have found more evidences before concluding that she is guilty

    • @jayennegiselle1836
      @jayennegiselle1836 3 года назад +12

      Also the fact that the husband was the one who had access to the chemicals. Masumi probably didn't have any knowledge on chemicals so how would she know on how much to put in the curry so that it's poisonous? And I think chemicals like Arsenic are kept in a lab and only certified chemists have access to it. So the husband should be the one who would have the acess,unless he has a whole lab in their house. On the other side,as Terry said,she put almost 1Kg of Arsenic which was enough to kill hundreds. She probably didn't know the amount to put in and hence just threw it all in. She also didn't eat the curry herself. I think it's either that the husband was involved with her or that she somehow obtained Arsenic and just did it herself.

If you were a murderer would you actually let someone witness you, Use the same arsenic from your husband's factory and attemp to kill 60 people for BARELY ANY REASON? The suspicions are too obviously pointing to her it seems more framed tho. Maybe they planned the murder but still

    • @jayennegiselle1836
      @jayennegiselle1836 3 года назад +5

      @@tasie8352 The people just accused her because they saw her near the pot. It could be that someone put it and Masumi was standing there and was accused falsely. I'm also wondering if she scammed her neighbours too as that would make her untrustworthy and they would assume it's her. And she put in the amount to kill hundreds but wanted to kill only 60. It seems like if she did it,she had no idea on how much to put in. And if it was planned by her,wouldn't she research about Arsenic and study it? Also that her family and even her could have eaten the curry too but didn't and if they didn't know about the poison then why didn't they? There are so many loopholes in this case and so many possibilities.

    • @tasie8352
      @tasie8352 3 года назад +4

      @@jayennegiselle1836 exactly so what if You were the murderer? Would you just stand in front of the food after putting poison in it Or just run away from the scene? You def would try to escape right? Isn't it too weird that the witness "Didn't see her put the poison but saw her stand near the food instead?". Like what kinda murderer stays at the crime scene?
      She even used her husband's chemical it's like she dug her own grave Which is why It feels like she kinda got framed

    • @jayennegiselle1836
      @jayennegiselle1836 3 года назад +5

      @@tasie8352 She was so easy to be framed too. Like her list of crimes were long and nobody would be suspicious if she was to commit another. This could have been taken advantage of and she was falsely accused. I don't get how they concluded that it was her when nobody saw her putting it in but just standing their and being weird. And how would she know about Arsenic and how poisonous it is when she didn't work as a chemist? And if it she knew about it,wouldn't she erase all the evidence and try not to be so obvious.

    The format and everything is on point, as always.
    But as a true crime doc/series follower, I never seem to find one where they talk about asian (and I mean ALL of Asia) true crime stories, serial killers or mystery (and even less committed by women!), they are always, as great as they are, talking about north-america (mostly all the time), canada, europe, australia maybe and not much else.
    I never realized it untill your videos started, and I am ALL for it.
    Bad people do bad things not matter where they live or where they come from, and I think I'll get to learn a lot from your videos that I never knew even existed!!

    I think there might be two possibilities. Either that the husband,who had the acess to the lab,and Masumi both did it or that it was only Masumi. The husband had the access to chemicals and had knowledge on it. I don't think Masumi knew about Arsenic. Like how would she know if it was poisonous or not and what dose causes it to become highly poisonous. And chemicals are generally kept in labs and only her husband would have an access to it then. Also the people accused her as they saw her near the pot but couldn't there be another person who wanted to frame her so they put in the poison and Masumi was just there at that time.
    There is also the possibility that Masumi did it. Like Terry said,she almost put 1KG of Arsenic which was enough to kill hundreds. Maybe she didn't have any knowledge on the chemical so she just threw in how much she had. She also didn't eat the curry herself. It's quite complicated. Some things don't make sense and some point towards her being the killer. There is also the fact that Masumi doesn't have a clear motive to kill. Just wondering if she also scammed her neighbours? That would've led them to hate her and accuse her.
