prong is a great band, but I really wished they would take on another guitarist, esp. when playing live. Prongs guitars are really densely layered in the recording process and Victor cant possibly play all the parts, simultaneously. Another guitar player would eliminate the problem.
I agree (I often thought the same about Pantera too but Tommy's also doing lead vox!). I think that around the time of Rude Awakening they had an extra guitarist for live shows, but then they also had John Bechdel on the keyboards/samples etc in the mid 90's (definitely in the Cleansing era), it filled out the sound to be more like the records. (Coincidentally, there was a video of Prong playing Controller in the 90's with Tommy only handling vocals, not even carrying a guitar I believe).
Heger Levine (one of their sound Engineers) told me Pantera was doing digital replay along with their live tracks to fill out the sound... Then he gave me and my buddy 5th row with backstage passes because I made a local hair band leave the stage because I alone was heckling them about playing some metal. :) Fun night, and he is good people.
Yes...he´s definitely not tight enough for such a groove oriented band! He ought to play like a machine but unfortunately he lacks timing far too often!

Prong has had multiple guitarists at various points in their past, so they might take one on again!
Pantera pulls it off so it *is* possible.. but buddy's doing vox too, which always takes away from the guitaring a bit.
