Thanks for sharing.... Nice Gimbal but, for me it lacks one thing, a longer adjustable / tilt arm simiular to a GoPro 3-way for vlogging. I don't care to see all or part of my arm along with having the camera so close up in the shot. I'm used to having the GoPro 3-way angled up with my hand resting on my hip along with the ability of having myself and another in the shot. The Zhiyun Crane M2 looks to be very robust which can handle a variety of camera's compared to most other compact gimbals that fall way too short. Thanks again, great job! 👍😊
Thanks, I’ve been looking for this set up for a while! You just saved me a month of research, confusion, indecision and uncertainty. I also agree with all your review!
Just pointing out that you threw the tracking information in there without discussing you were using the phone. I know someone else here mentioned it. I have the Sony rx100 vii and just bought this. I have an iPhone 5s that I use with my ronin s mounted on top of my cameras. I'm going to try it with this setup as well. The weight is below the max even with my cage and phone on top. This way the phone does its thing and the sony will be running too. So it will hopefully work just like when on the ronin. Will make balancing trickier. The iPhone 5s is dedicated to this type of use. It's the lightest and smallest I found that can run active track on the ronin s. Need to be a 5s or higher to work. And they are super cheap. I picked one up for $80.
Yeah man it's basically an FS700 in your pocket. Slow motion is amazing too. Btw Smallrig makes a coldshoe mount that shifts external mic mounts out of the way of the screen. Just a few bucks as well.
If you had a choice and you already have a crane M2 gimbal....Would you purchase the Zv1 or would you purchase a larger gimbal Weebill S or Ronin SC to use with Canon and Nikon mirrorless cameras?
I don’t own an osmo. But from the footage I’ve seen... I’d rather have the Sony. Cini modes is dope plus 120 in 1080!!! Rx100vii + gimbal + OneWheel = most buttery broll ever.
@@emmettshort Cool, that's good to know. I did get some nice footage from the RX100v when I was stationary so maybe the zhiyun crane is the way to go. I would just need to fix it to the side of my back pack securely so I can just take it off and shoot. The Osmo would still be useful on hikes where you can't be bothered to get all the zhuyin set up out.
ok.. I found you today.. and watched several of your reviews. you are fucking good to go in my book man. excellent content, delivered well. really appreciate the effort you put in. helping me to save some $$$ and get the best gear possible.
Can you maybe tell me what lense(s) you've been using it with and how well it worked with them ? :) I also have a 6400 and plan on maybe buying this gimbal.
I LIKE your review! I'm interested in this gimbal and am going to buy it. I'd like to use it with my reasonably small and lightweight Panasonic Lumix DC-FZ82 (LUMIX DC VARIO Lens), but it's not on the list of supported cameras. I suspect the reason is the size of the lens (at 120x zoom mode) and the corresponding balancing restrictions. Could you answer to my question? Or what kind of gimbal would you recommend for this camera? Thanks in advance, I look forward to your opinion
I live over in Silverlake, Loved this video you made! I'm going to purchase this exact setup, but the Rode Wireless Go mic is not available to purchase and I don't know how much one costs.
you forget to mention that you can connect micro USB on gimbal to micro USB on camera to have gimbal charge camera as camera's battery is so small and runs out quickly.,
Hiiiiiii thanks for the great review. Currently looking for a gimbal for my rx100 vii, Is the update out to be able to take pictures with the gimbal now? Thanks
hey buddy nice video clip. where can I get the bracket that has it connected between wirelessgo mic and the body of crane m 2? it would be really appreciate to put the link here :)

how does the tracking feature work that you showed briefly at 9:57? Did it track directly from the camera, or did you have to mount your phone on top of the camera to track a subject?
No that was synced with a phone for that shot. I don’t think there is any gimbal on the market that syncs and uses tracking with a point and shoot camera. I actually went to Zhiyun’s booth at CES and made that exact comment to them. Hopefully the next gen does that.
@@emmettshort thanks for the help. Is there any hope that I would be able to balance a phone on top of a canon m50 +22mm f2 efm lens. The weight of camera, lens and phone (galaxy s8) comes out to 744g which is a little over the 720 limit.

Great little review of the Crane M2! I've been using it with the a6400 and it handles it very well!
