Used mine in London last October, and got tired of taking the attachment off and on, putting the camera on, taking it off, locking up the Crane, etc. With a little practice, I was able to leave the attachment on the Crane with the camera attached to it and the Crane unlocked, after having tested the balance in the hotel before going out. If the the balance went a little off now and then, while walking around, travelling on the train, packing and unpacking it in my bag, etc., I just loosened the attachment slightly (with the camera still fastened) and would carefully move it in the slot until it balanced, and then hold the camera upright to make sure it went straight ahead. Of course, the camera should be 'on' as the lens will be extended, affecting the balance when adjusting the balance. Of course, don't be alarmed turning the Crane and camera back on (while trying to conserve power) which usually causes sudden jerky movements on the Crane and camera, as you are sort of 'waking them up', and they have to find the proper balance.
Hi, few doubts. Is it mandarory to connect the gimbal with the phone?. Is it mandatory to use the gimal controls to move the camera in different direction. Cant i just balance the camera, manually switch it on and manually press the record button and start shooting ?
Where We Went 1) not necessary to connect to phone to operate 2) the gimbal control is to move the camera to the direction depending on the modes use. For pan follow mode , the camera will move according to your hand movement instead of gimbal control , but you may use the gimbal control to move up/down 3) you can operate manually without connecting gimbal to phone/ camera . It is more convenient to operate via gimbal to prevent jerky Intro / ending
To me, you may have missed the best feature on this combo. Connecting a USB data cable to the camera and to the USB micro port on the Pan arm motor will charge the camera.
The Wacky Duo understood, however as I own both I have fully tested thin. Not only can you use the usb cable to charge, you can simultaneously connect to the wifi in the gimbal and still have full rec button, zoom control! Perfect combo.
I have the Crane M2 and the RX100 VII. I can get it to record with the button, but for the life of my, can't get it to take a picture when I double click. Do you know if there is some setting I have on that is not allowing me to use this function? Tried on Auto, A, and S like you said.
@@TheWackyDuo Yeah. Everything step by step. I can verify all components are connected. I can see the live image on my phone and control the crane movement with my phone at the same time. Partly because of your review, I bought the Crane M2 just before I went to London at the beginning of October. In London, that damned little button kept falling off- just like yours! Luckily, i noticed each time, otherwise it would have been just about impossible to operate it, without the button! Since coming back to Toronto, I recently used some Gorilla glue (something like Crazy Glue) and very carefully, (with something like a tiny pinpoint), I used a very small amount of the glue to adhere between the button and the inner part it attaches to, and it seems to be staying! Obviously, anyone trying this has to be very careful, otherwise excess glue on any other part, may make the button impossible to maneuver. Obviously, Zhiyun have to fix that! Also, I recently did a lot of research on various cameras (as my Lumix LX100 in London was a bit too heavy and bulky) and decided on a Sony RX1005A! This time, not because of your video, but simply by a coincidence!
@@TheWackyDuo Sorry for the late reply- I don't get notice sometimes when someone replies to a comment- I really don't know why! I love the RX100 and think it's every bit as good as the LX100 even though the LX100 has a four-thirds sensor! I think the four-thirds sensor on the LX100 is divided into four different parts for different aspect ratios or something, from what I read. So, I'm not sure I was really getting much more than what the Sony's 1 inch sensor offers anyway! Also, of course, the RX100 is lighter and smaller. Still haven't used it with the Crane M2 yet, because of the damned Covid19 causing me to not bother trying to go to London or anywhere again until things get better. However, I just looked at your video just now, before practicing with it again and actually trying it with the RX100 VA (10 months later!!) for the first time, in order to see which slot to attach the camera to.
