    ⭐️ Buy the Zhiyun Crane M2: geni.us/XVUC (affiliate)
    What's up everyone?! I hope this review of the new Zhiyun Crane M2 helpful. This is definitely my favorite small gimbal at the moment. I have it with me essentially every time I go out shooting just in case I want to get some stable footage. That is not something I was willing to do with any other gimbal because of the size and weight.
    Would this work for your setup? If you have questions about a particular camera+lens combo, ask me below. Would love to know what you think, good or bad. I am grateful in advance 🙏

      Hi, enjoyed your review, do you think I could mount an iPhone 8 Plus in an otterbox case on the gimbal? it is 170mm long by 90mm by 15mm deep, the weight is well within its limits. Thanks.

      @@SteveSantoianni hey. It works pretty well with the Kit Lens because it's not too heavy. When I put my 50MM lens on with the adapter though, it becomes a lot more difficult to balance properly. Pretty sure it's because of the added weight. It still functions, but not as well as it does with the kit. Haven't used it as often as I would like so I'm still learning.

    I used it for a couple of days with my A6400. Some issues:
    1) couldn’t find the setting to control motor speed with the camera. I believe it works when you use a phone on the gimbal, so not useful for camera users. The speed in my opinion is quite slow.
    2) the plastic body can induce some serious scratches on the camera’s body especially while moving it around with the gimbal off. There is only one axis lock and the camera can become super wobbly while transporting. I have scratches on the back of my flip screen and some around the lens cover.
    All in all if you’re okay with carrying a little bulkier but more robust and safer gimbal for your camera then go for the DJI ronin-SC or something in that range.

    • @TechGearTalk
      @TechGearTalk  4 года назад +1

      Hi there. One question:
      1. Do you mean motor speed of the zoom?
      2. All 3 axes can be locked if you line them up and press down. This way the camera does not wobble at all.
      I hope this helps. I would also consider something like the Weebill S ruclips.net/video/urugXDg3hnM/видео.html Thanks for the input

    • @InkVision

    I purchased this gimbal a few months ago to use with my Lumix G7. I've tried it with the Lumix 25mm f/1.7 and the Olympus 17mm f/1.8. It works fantastic with either lens. I even added a Rode Video Micro as well. With that set up, I couldn't go into vortex mode, but it's not something that I use even without the Rode mic. The only issue that I have is that if I connect the camera over wifi to the gimbal, maybe after 30 seconds, the camera display will go to sleep. As if the camera thought that it was connected to a phone or tablet. But this is a limitation of the camera.

    Kinda surprised on your rating. I bought one for the Sony a6400 and it was one of the most difficult gimbals to balance. I was using the kit lens. The AK200 was a breeze to balance. I 100% agree that it is more difficult to balance than my other gimbals, but it never takes me more than a minute. I have over 10 gimbals and I use this one the most. It's a case where I'm willing to give up some features (locking axes during balancing, etc.) for the convenience and portability of the gimbal. Of course, I also have to accept the limitations. I'm super glad that the AK200 is working well for you!

    I think this is an awesome gimbal, but it kinda locks you in to what you can use if it's your only gimbal. I think, for the money, the Weebill S would be a better investment, unless you can get both. It would be nice to have this if you are using gear that can be held by it, lenses that will allow you to balance it, but if you are using longer lenses, the Weebill S would be better. More future proof, for sure. But this is an awesome piece of gear, for sure.

    I just purchased this gimbal a few days ago-got a great price, love how small it is, but honestly, I have not yet been able to balance it with my new Sony a6600 and any of the kit lenses I have (note that I also have the A6000 but don't want to bother trying to balance that old camera with this gimbal since what is the point of having spent the money to buy a newer, better camera that I can't use due to the gimbal?). I am committed to small cameras, gimbals, and lenses because I want to shoot documentaries while traveling and the APSC line-up is the way to go. I don't see this gimbal honestly working for the A6000 line up-it's simply too small. I'm watching this very nice review gimbal, watching how nicely balanced the A6400 camera seems to be with a very tiny lens, but it just is not working for me with my slightly heavier A6600 camera. This gimbal, that I actually love quite a bit for its form factor, looks to work very well with the Sony rx100 iii that I have. I'm tempted to keep it for use with my cell phone and RX100iii, AND buy the Weebill S. Honestly, this is a gimbal I wish would have worked with my set up of the Sony A6600 and various zoom and prime lenses.

    • @TechGearTalk
      @TechGearTalk  4 года назад

      Hi Paul. I have used this gimbal with the a6600 and a very small lens. Of course it's limited in terms of which lens you can use, and it's more difficult to balance because the adjustments are not as precise - but it's definitely usable. It's perfect for the RX100 III
      The Weebill S is probably the gimbal I use most, after this one: ruclips.net/video/urugXDg3hnM/видео.html I would have zero reservations about buying one. It's a great gimbal.

If so, what lighter camera would you suggest for between 1000$ and 1500$. ? I am asking for much info, but will accept what you have time to give me as a response. Merci beaucoup! Michel.

      I really need to publish the next video in this series. I'ts compatible in that you can balance it and use it. You can't point it all the way up because the eye piece hits the roll motor. That is not super important to me but is a limitation you should know about.

      Hi Aaron, you can use the SL2 with something very small like the 50 or a 24. You can definitely NOT use it with the 18-35 because that lens is so heavy. I have set up the SL2 + sigma 18-35 on this: ruclips.net/video/urugXDg3hnM/видео.html and still needed to buy the smallrig plate and 150g of counter weights. That way I got it to work and it did a great job.

      @@TechGearTalk any comments to Canon M6 Mark II + 16mm 1.4 fixed? I'm curious to what limited in movement actually translates to specifically? I do mostly skate videos, where I am skating behind a rider with my Camera and filming them as smoothly as possible. Not too much creative stuff happening with the gimbal, I'm in it more for just the stabilization. Sometimes I would want to use the joystick to tilt the camera a bit upwards, and then do really low shots to give the impression of more speed, but that's about it.

    Hi Sigi, thanks for your awesome advice and reviews on your gear! I own an M50 and have followed a lot of your recommendations reagarding lenses and also this gimbal. So far I am pretty happy with all of it. I have run into one issue with the Zhiyun Crane M2 though, which I am hoping you might be able to help me with: In another video you mention that you can make the Sigma 16mm f1.4 lense attached to the M50 still work on this gimbal, which is the reason I got it because the Sigma lense makes outstanding footage and the gimbal was affordable. However, with that lense, I keep getting 'jumps' in the footage when moving around with the gimbal. So there are these sort of jolts or stumbles of the image, although I am not moving too wildly (in my opinion). I sometimes even get it with the Canon 11-22mm lense... Now I'm not sure whether this is because of the wight of the lenses, with the gimbal having trouble to balance it, or because I move too much with it (I film dance videos mostly, so I walk around and tilt the gimbal a little bit faster than just when I'm walking straight). But even while walking slowly I get these jolts, which is really annoying since it disturbes the otherwise beautiful shots. Do you have any idea why this is? Did you make that experience as well? I'm thankful for any advice you might have :)

    I recently bought this gimbal and the ZV-1 with a wide angle lens and rode micro. So far I am really disliking this gimbal, I cannot for the life of me balance this with the camera and so the gimbal gets to a point where it wont even hold up the camera (I have turned up the motor). I definitely cant balance it at all with the screen extended. If I do happen to get close to balancing it (enough for it to run, it doesnt get close to great balance) I then have to unscrew the bottom plate whenever I change the battery and I lose balance again. I feel like I may have wasted my money unfortunately :(
