Zhiyun used misleading images to convince you to buy this product. When in reality, this gimbal is not suited for a full-frame camera (or sometimes any camera). Does that make it a SCAM? Probably... Not sure how they got away with it.
Have you ever bought a product after watching a review and it's 💩💩💩💩?

If you see a reviewer who has tons of videos and they are switching from one brand to another and from a lens to another, and most of their reviews are indoor...that is a big red flag, unsubscribe, comment and dislike. It will help that viewers, reviewers and even marketing firms more than you think!

Nice review, im running the M2 with zve10/viltorox 23 f1.4. it works fairly decent when shooting landscape. but is inconsistent when shooting vertical. I experienced the tilted horizon as well, but fixed it after ensuring it was PERFECTLY balanced and did the 6 sided calibration. I think it comes down to weight. I dont have an issue when using the kit 18-55mm. I think it gets the job done, but really frustrating when i come home and see my footage looks like it was taken during an earthquake. I ordered the Yongnuo 11mm 1.8 and going to test with that. I dont think its a great run and gun gimbal

Help, I’m stuck on this gimbal?
I couldn’t decide choosing DJI Ronin-SC Gimbal Stabilizer between Feiyu SCORP-C 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer or Feiyu AK2000S. The reason why Zhiyun WEEBILL-S Handheld Gimbal is popular for some users is the batteries are replaceable and each user would need to carry 4 or more batteries to used their gimbal for long events.
Because Both are fantastic gimbal, DJI Ronin-SC body can be separated into two parts that can fit inside your small bag for travel purposes. On the other hand Feiyu SCORP-C had that comfortable grip body curve shape. If only the Feiyu Scorp-c can be separated by two parts I would go over them. Hoping that feiyu would come out with two parts separate like dji design.
I’m not sure about Feiyu AK2000S. It a older model line of gimbal.
Maybe it isn’t the right time to buy a gimbal for me and I wait until feiyu would come out that can two parts separate for easy travel.
I would stay away from zhiyun for quality issues and some users reporting their gimbal breaks easily in couple of days ☠️. Also their service can be painful to deal with it. Because you have to shipped back the broken gimbal.

I'm ever so slightly confused, online and on the box it pretty clearly states it has carrying weight and size restrictions. I'm not sure if it's honest to discredit a product for being advertised as something it isn't supposed to be by third parties and funky marketing (I mean, there's so much stupid marketing for camera's and camera products... Like videos shot on much more advanced products sold as shot by the camera offered, we should know better by now) because you didn't do your own research.
I've been on and off considering a gimbal for two years and never have any stores told me anything but 'this one is good for crop sensors and camera gear up to 900g' so I'm absolutely mystified how you got stuck with this issue.

@Jack It’s a bit curious how you never actually respond to any arguments and just keep telling people off when they criticize your presentation. I mean i’m not even close to being a pro on any of this, but after analyzing this gimbal I can already tell that even the first issue you listed, which is the camera hitting the gimbal, can easily be fixed by adjusting the back slider, which you have pulled out all the way for some reason. Regardless, obviously this doesn’t take away from the fact that if your camera isn’t compatible you’re still going to have issues. And yes even other reviewers pointed this out 2 years ago when this came out. Are other reviewers paid to advertise? Sure. However, just because others might be wrong in whatever case, that doesn’t make you correct, that’s simply not an argument. And for every overly positive fake reviewer out there there’s often a negative counterpart. What matters is if you’re correct or not.

I have the gimbal and I used it with a ZV E1 and Samyang 24mm F2.8 and it would loose the horizon 2 or 3 times in a half hour shoot. I used the same camera with Tamron 20-40 F2.8 and it was very good in another half hour shoot. It didn't screw the horizon line which is very weird because this is a heavier combination. I will test it further. I have to say that you are not completely right when you say reviewers are over hyping products because they want to receive free products perpetually, they give glorious reviews because they want to sell more through their affiliate marketing links which is way worse😢

Everyone trying to buy a gimbal, do yourself a favour and read the camera and lens compatibility guide. Every gimbal manufacturer puts one out when they release gimbals. Zhiyun as well. If you dont see your camera and lens combo listed there, assume its not been tested. In the a7 series for example Zhiyun has specifically said you may need to remove the eye piece on the camera to balance properly.
Another thing is its one thing for the camera to balance straight on but there definitely is guarantee that it will work perfectly when tilting or trying to do 360 movements. For some that works and for others they want full functionality.
As far a watching reviews, I have NEVER bought anything based reviews that come out day one or that contain pre production models. You never know what they are testing. As far as the reviewers themselves, they dont have every single camera model and lens combo to test. So just rely on what they show you on the video.
Remember the basic concept of gimbals is balance. Payload means nothing if you have a light body and a heavy lens. Thats the mistake I see a lot of folks making. Just because payload is 8 lbs doesnt mean it will balance if its front heavy.
If you have no practice using gimbals it doesnt matter what gimbal you get. You will not achieve the same level of quality someone with more practice and time has.
I'm still using the trusty Moza Air 1 and recently picked up a Zhiyun Weebill S.
The main issue with all of Zhiyuns M lineup of gimbals has been that there is no room to use a dummy battery or charging cable because the ports are blocked by either the pan arm or the tilt arm. And these smaller cameras and phones (which is the target of these gimbals) run out of battery very very fast.

    • @JackWoodhams
      @JackWoodhams  Год назад +1

This one literally didn't have a payload listed anywhere when it was released 😬
Blaming the user is pretty annoying, I know how to balance a gimbal. Nothing you can do would fix this particular model it would always slant over time.

I just got mine 2 days ago, and the vortex mode just doesn't work, my Canon M50 is much lighter than the weight this gimbal is claimed to be supportive of (~1500 grams) but the vortex wouldn't go pass 45degrees on either side and noticed the motors are overheating. I do see some videos where people were able to achieve it it with the same camera and gimbal but it's not working for me and there is definitely clearance issue at some axis/angles. This is my first ever gimbal use/test, bought for my upcoming trip videos but totally disappointed. May be I should stick to my GoPro

    In a nutshell,
1.) your lens is too big.
2.) I think you need more balancing practice. fine tuning. oil the rails to make it easy.
3.) joystick - heavy use/wear and tear, It's low quality I agree but it can be fixed with superglue.
4.) horizon issue - recalibrate the gimbal from time to time. it's recommended even in complex machines. it's "homing" the gimbal to the horizon. It's going off center due to the changing magnetic fields, gravitational fields, heat, temperature inside the encoders/gyroscopes. It's called drift.
Your issues are highly noted. I hope Zhiyun can improve on this

      1. the lens isn't too big. It comes under the weight "tolerance". Also the 24mm is one of the smallest and lightest lenses available.
      2. I've used gimbals on plenty of shoots and know how to balance them. Bold of you to assume that I don't know what I'm doing.
      3. The joystick shouldn't just come off. Whether you fix with super glue or not.
      4. Again, shouldnt be required every time you use the gimbal. This has never been an issue on any gimbal I've used.
In a nutshell, Zhiyun marketed this incorrectly and used false advertising.

Sadly both feiyu tech and Zhiyun is creating crappy products. Also they are releasing gimbals like phones, every 8-10months a new one is out. Suddenly the gimbal you just bought at 600$ is discounted by 300$ and guess what? there is no more firmware updates. And if the last firmware update is buggy and they release a new model, they wont even care go back to fix it ( i got this issue with feiyu tech )...I also lost the joystick on the crane 2s but good thing it was in the car and notice it indeed had no glue, so went put it back with some glue. It does hold insane amount of weight but very often i have to do a hardware reset as it starts to lag heavily and not follow my movements. Good thing i barely use gimbals but lately its becoming more used and after using my friends ronin rs3/rs2 am thinking of going dji route.
