Ugh I Really don’t like the f38 mounting system. I tried it briefly with the f38 version of the Zero tripod and found the plate to be too wobbly on the bottom of my camera. And it only works with specific f38 stuff of course. While everything I have is arca Swiss. The quick release plate on the original Weebill is actually arca Swiss when you remove the camera. The half plate fits perfectly! Solid design!
I got this gimbal the other day. My Sony a6700 with cage on and sigma 30f1.4 balances well. I need to try it with my Sony 18-105 and if it doesn't balance well I will return it. A great little gimbal and the fill in light is a great bonus.
@@WesPerry It’s because the gimbal has really short axis, it’s not just about straight up “weight”, it handle heavy setups as long as the center of mass is closed to the normal (center) position of the Axis. If you put on a lens that is front heavy, like you did, it will overpower the motors easily, if that same weight was closer to the “body” the motors can handle it better.
Hi Wes were you able to control the auto focus on the gimbal or it had to be via the camera shutter button(halfpress) A9 user but info on it is lacking via Zhiyun site
Question. When you say it took half an hour to update, was that through your phone connection? I would be very distrustful of anything attached to my phone, sending and receiving information for half an hour.
Is there an adaptor to mount a GoPro on the Weebill 3S? My first view of one of your videos. I like the straight forward, honest presentation. Well done. Good graphics support along with your content.
As long as you can get your GoPro mounted on a 1/4 20 socket, you can mount just about anything on this. But if you're using something that small, then the M3S is certainly a better bet... unless you need it to also pull double duty and work with a bigger camera as well.
I was wondering how the 'Zhiyun Crane M3S' compares to an APS-C camera, for example, a Sony A6400. Or which one would be better for an APS-C camera. I've had both gimbals on my radar for a while and was planning to purchase one of them.
Thanks for the video, Wes! Btw I loved the mount you're using to rest the gimbal when you're not using it! Might look terrifying but it is clever and seems practical as hell! Good job. I even want one haha.
Heard about this coming but had to get something asap. Got the DJI RS 3 mini and love it. Glad I didn't wait for this. If course I didn't get that awesome bag
The RS3 mini costs more, but has a much higher weight rating, so they're kindof apples and oranges. You pay more and get more with the DJI. Generally speaking most people prefer the stabilization algorithms from DJI as well.
@@WesPerry Interesting! I actually really want the 'auto locking' from rs 3/pro but it seems like such a big gimbal for me for that one small feature, hopefully the next rounds of gimbals all have it.
You can refer the camera compatible list of crane M3S: zhiyun-website-shenzhen.oss-cn-shenzhen.aliyuncs.com/instruction/20230725/1690274300318-PGCQ6rRh.pdf
I can see both sides of this. One cynical reason is to just obscure things. But a technical reason is weight is a very vague measurement when the shape and size of what you’re putting on it is just as if not more significant. So say I put a super long but light lens on this thing and it craps out the motors after a few days. Maybe it was within the weight rating? It’s a bit messy.
⚠️ WARNING : OBJECT TRACKING with SMARTPHONE via ZY PLAY APP interface is NOT POSSIBLE with Crane M3S. It only provides stabilization for smartphones. It doesn’t support the keys.
I've used it's predecessor at one longbeach wedding and returned, it was to slow to operate the qr plate and it was to weak under gh5ii plus panaleica 12mm 1.4. But light was so cool and i just figured out yesterday that they have a new version so ordered right away because of qr and BT feature.
I don't like your clumsy handling of the gimbal and the high level of complaining! And on the list of features that the Zhiyun M3S can't do is that you can't shave with it! - Sorry but I have to say your video review was a waste of time, unfortunately!
Solution by Ulanzi for this gimbal is a f38 mount. You set up once then you can use with their standard f38 plate.
Ugh

Hey I am missing camera mounting screw in my package with this gimbal. Did you receive it?
I believe the 1/4 20 screw was already in the quick release plate in mine.
Great video, do You know if this Gimball, works with a fx30 and Sigma 18-50 f2.8

You also didn't mention whether you used the ibis or warp stabilisation?
Neither.
To be fair, that is a chunky lens you mounted on it, I don’t think it’s listed on the supported setups.
Zhiyun being cagey about weight limits (they don’t mention them at all) is pretty unhelpful in this.

So you put a 550g lens on it and expected perfectly stabilized outcome? hehe

No I haven’t been able to get that to work.
@@WesPerry thanks Wes ! Got it .
would u choose this over the rs3 mini? my dilemma is that the rs3 is harder to fold and put in a travel bag but can hold more payload
Certainly not. The RS3 Mini is better at handling larger loads. This one is really all about that compactness.
Read the compatible camera and lens list for this gimbal. You would’ve known about the clearance issues with some cameras
Question. When you say it took half an hour to update, was that through your phone connection? I would be very distrustful of anything attached to my phone, sending and receiving information for half an hour.
It’s through Bluetooth connection to the phone app.
And I just got another update two nights ago and a full half hour again

Thanks' for the quick reply. The Weebill 3S has some great features, seems like an excellent value.
can i use a manfrotto quick release base for the crane m3s?

Compared to what though?
I’ve used it some and it balances well with APSC and a small prime. I ordered the QD plate from Falcam/Ulanzi to make it easier to mount quickly.
Thanks for the video, Wes! Btw I loved the mount you're using to rest the gimbal when you're not using it! Might look terrifying but it is clever and seems practical as hell! Good job. I even want one haha.
Well at least One person doesn’t think I’m crazy… 😂
I think that's a power tool device. You'll see carpenters with these carriers.
They recently came out with it for power tools, but this one is camera specific, and actually where they started as a company.
Heard about this coming but had to get something asap. Got the DJI RS 3 mini and love it. Glad I didn't wait for this. If course I didn't get that awesome bag
Hello! Would you also indicate the weebill 3s to a sony ZV-e10?
Yeah that’s more or less the sort of camera it’s designed for
This looks perfect for smaller mirrorless cameras like Sony ZV E1. I think it would shine with that...
Oh for sure. I think I said that in the video? Haha
@@WesPerry oops 🙈🙈 (I thought you said ZV 1 - my bad!)
@@SiddharthaJoshiFilms I mean, they'd both be better for this than my a7iv is ;)
Does fuji xs20 work with viltrox 27mm F/1.2 pro.?

$170 M2S or $300 M3S? Is it worth the difference?
That's a pretty great price. Where are you finding it for that much?
What can you say about the comparison with DJI RS 3 Mini?
The RS3 mini costs more, but has a much higher weight rating, so they're kindof apples and oranges. You pay more and get more with the DJI. Generally speaking most people prefer the stabilization algorithms from DJI as well.
Hmm I've seen another video where someone used an 35-150 and a7iv (so like 5 pounds) and it worked great, maybe firmware helped weight capacity?
I have no idea how that would be possible!
I have latest firstware and if I put too many filters on my 35 1.4 it gets cranky 😂 (even when rebalanced)
@@WesPerry Interesting! I actually really want the 'auto locking' from rs 3/pro but it seems like such a big gimbal for me for that one small feature, hopefully the next rounds of gimbals all have it.
@realMysta all I want is auto leveling, but I think I’m hoping for too much 😏
the crane m 3s can support a zv e10 and a 75mm F1.2 viltrox?
Hmm that’s a tough one. The 75 is a pretty heavy lens. But I Think I should be able to. Can’t test it myself though.

Also, why doesn't Zhiyun put weight ratings on their gimbles?

That new plate of m3s is pain in the ass. Can't use it in other tripod, monopod with the popular heads like 501PL.
I eventually swapped mine out for the Falcam F38 system 👌🏻
@@WesPerry Thanks... I couldn't find anything in the market. So Falcam F38 is compatible with manfrottos plates; Thanks Wes!
It’s compatible with most arca Swiss mounts.
