it was refreshing to fight him again once i got the hang of yakuza's combat as i was still new to yakuza and i wanted to redo shibusawa's fight, i absolutely do agree that his theme slaps
Surprisingly it's vice versa - Iwami was a more potent Shibusawa. Shibusawa basically fucked up big time because he tried being Kuze for a day and by interfering with Dojima's orders - which eventually bit him in the ass and brought the entire family down. Iwami, on the other hand, only lost due to deus ex machina trick with Hirose guys.
@Batt1nsonsolos because they are jumping on a bandwagon. Iwami was among the biggest threats Kiryu ever faced, maybe even the biggest - and that's taking into account that he had no personal ties or grudges againsy Kiryu, just business as usual. He caused Kiryu the most personal damage, not even Nishiki did this.
iwami imo is a good boss because you don't fight him for honor or to win against his conviction you're just given freedom to style on the worst creature to walk the earth and i don't exactly think the hirose appearing to help against iwami is deus ex machina but i could see why you'd think that
Shibusawa is probably the best possible antagonists for yakuza 0 Kiryu , other than being a rival for the title of dragon of Dojima , he is the polar opposite of Kiryu for his scheming personality and his willingness to walk over the corpses of dozens of people to reach his goal. And he is the experienced Yakuza going up against the new generazione before they get strong enough to defeat him

Despite all the new instalments of the series that have come out over the years, I'm constantly reminded why 0 remains my favourite.
Yup.
To be fair 0 is still a fairly recent installment as well
that's reasonable cuz 0's difficulty is extra easy and its combat system is the worst but the easiest in the news(original 1 and 2 not included)

i love how after shibusawa, the next 3 final bosses for kiryu are basically just "we're orphans so we're sad"
Shibusawa's whole reasoning was based on him losing his father in such a young age. What are you talking about?
@@ikarovski12 oh shit i forgot....
so they are all orphans until yakuza 4

Daigo also lost his father in Yakuza 1, though he was already an adult at that point

one of the best final boss themes in yakuza. No honor, just primal rage + A more badass Iwami
Nah. Shibu is no humanity businessman Kyriu.

Shibusawa and lao gui to my knowledge are the only times the protagonist and the final boss actually speak mid battle
Aizawa has a line during one of the QTEs in his final battle in 5
It was subtitled in the OG game, but not the remaster for some reason

I absolutely love Shibusawa's Dynamic intro and obviously the OST as well.

Both Shibu and Ryuji are Kyriu as businessman or thug if he gave up on his kindness and wisdom.
Ryuji is like Kiryu if he was more rougher and tougher in a way but he still is honorable.
