The idea that Shishido would rather prefer a world of violence, servitude and emotional/sexual abuse because he simply could not conceptualize his own life without the Yakuza’s existence makes him one of the most tragic characters in the series. Had he let everything happen without lifting a finger he would’ve, as Henry Hill said: “lived the rest of his life like a schnook”. But he was so scared of having a "normal" life, of what living a normal life *meant*, that he was willing to fight a losing battle in an act of true desperation. Had he lost this fight, the destiny of the Tojo and Omi would not have changed. He just never wanted to wake up from his dream. It’s actually pretty sad.

This fight was so cool, the bar with the pretty lights, Someya fighting with a sword showing his desperation to win against Kiryu, Sugai and Koshimizu watching the fight on the screen, the music.
