My favorite is Kiryu vs Majima in Kiwami 2 The way Kiryu fakes his punch into a kick, and yet Majima still dodged is such an amazing opening to a fight like that.
The fact that the entire cutscene into the dynamic intro for Kiryu v Kuze 2 is unskippable, even for the speedrunners, makes it seem like RGG wanting to say “you’re gunna sit there & listen to this DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN!”
I love that feeling of overwhelming danger the intro gives. It really reverses whatever view you might've had of Kuze being some honorless snake, and makes you think "I should've never underestimated this guy fuck fuck fuck fuck fuckfuckfcuk".
It's because the entire cutscene is part of the dynamic intro, oddly. You can see a very very lil' lag spike between when Kuze walks from the scooter and the camera changing over to Kiryu
Note: The dynamic intros in 1 and 2 are not in the originals, they were retroactively added with Kiwami. The first appearance of the dynamic intro was Mine.
An underrated intro is the Majima vs Ibuchi one. Majima doesn't smile at Ibuchi when coming in for a stab, showing that he's seriously pissed off. Ibuchi probably reminded him of Dojima being an orchestrating bastard who got countless innocents killed which is why he was having none of his bull. Ibuchi dodging to point his gun at a descending Majima is so cool to look at.
For me, 7 is my favorite with Tendo. The man just stands there and takes Ichiban's dropkick, and it does absolutely nothing to him. It really shows how powerful he is compared to you and your friends and he will NOT go down easy. You're in for a very tough fight
@@TheRealGlooper not the makato stuff that actually added and untied knots that we would later see into his character being more serious again after he adopted the joker like personality proceeding yakuza 1. I love the two against Aoki, the first one saying "Ryo Aoki, governor of Tokyo", then the depressing finale finally showing "Masato Arakawa", like he can't run away from who he is anymore. Plus that final fight is super depressing when you realise how soft Arakawa is from being a politician for so long, so Ichi really kicks the shit out of him.
I look at it in Ichi's perspective that the first phase he saw Ryo Aoki as his Boss name. But when it gets to the second phase it just says Masato Arakawa add the fact he's unarmed and forced into a max Freelancer shows Ichi is beginning to let go of his Rpg phase and embrace real world. Since this is the only boss fight with a quick time event.
"Leading the Tojo is a heavy cross to bear. I know, because I did it for like 2 hours before foisting it off on a guy I'd met two days ago who turned out to be a secret Korean mole and nearly destroyed the whole thing after letting him be the leader of the Tojo clan and then forcing you to take that heavy cross without actually sticking around to help you either."
Honestly, the Kuroiwa battles are really well choreographed. When I first fought him in the underground casino with that opening cutscene, I was hoping I'd fight him again and the final fight was amazing with that intro too.
If there’s one thing Like a Dragon excels at to make its intros memorable, it’s its amazing ost. I could listen to Cold-Blooded (Mabuchi’s theme) all day and not get bored
So many people are ignoring Yakuza 6 dynamic intros... they're the second best after 0 in my book. This was RGG at the top of their game. Also, just give us fucking Ishin already COME ON.
@Viper Hareous I'm really split on K2. It's one of my least favorites in the series actually, because of the dogshit excuse that everyone and their mother is actually Jingweon Mafia, it just felt too contrived, even for Yakuza standards. The whole Kazuki clone too, it just gave me such a weak vibe. Ryuji wasn't featured nearly enough in the game too, making him a weak villain imo, a problem I feel a lot of antagonists in the series have, including Nishiki in K1, Mine from 3, etc. K2 of course had some moments, a lot of the dynamic intros were cool, mostly the Ryuji fights (excluding the sword fight near the end, it looks kinda lame) and the fight with Majima in the Coliseum. All this stuff contributed to me not enjoying the game as much as many others, cause from what I've heard, people put K2 really high up on their list. For me, it's 0 and 6 at the top spot. After that, I tend to change my mind quite often, but I'd like to hear what you thought of 7, or Like a Dragon??? Did you like the gameplay change and the new protag???
I kind of wish they had given kashiwagi or nishiki a dynamic intro, especially kashiwagi since it would have added a lot of personality for new players.
I love all 3 Joon-Gi Han intros but especially the second one, that being said I love how the bell rings in sync with the name card flash in the first one
If RGG ever goes through with their plans of remaking 3-5, I really hope they add alot more dynamic intros like how they did for 2. Kiryu's fight with the Tojo in 5 easily deserves a badass intro to one of his coolest brawls. Or even getting something simple like a small visual reaction from Saejima seeing that Majima uses a knife when fighting in 4 since up until then he probably had no clue.

Titles of Boss Characters in the Yakuza Series (Detailed) The Yakuza takes on a pseudo-family organizational structure. patriarch = 組長 (kumicho or oyaji) = father captain = 若頭 (wakagashira) = eldest brother, next kumicho lieutenant = 若頭補佐 (wakagashira hosa) = brother assisting the eldest brother Just like in a real family, there can be the father of the father and the son of the son. In "Yakuza 0," Dojima was pushing the redevelopment plan to become the wakagashira of the Tojo Clan. The three wakagashira hosa under Dojima, including Kuze, competed to become the next wakagashira in place of Kazama. If Dojima became the wakagashira of the Tojo Clan, he would be a strong candidate to become the next chairman of the Tojo Clan. In turn, the wakagashira of the Dojima Family would likely be the next chairman of the Tojo Clan after Dojima (it's complicated, isn't it?). In reality, Sera became the wakagashira of the Tojo Clan and later became the chairman. There are also titles for the patriarch’s younger brothers, such as "舎弟頭 (shateigashira)" and "舎弟頭補佐 (shateigashira hosa)," but characters with these titles are few. In the early Yakuza series, these titles are used inaccurately, more like "leader of the subordinates." For example, Kiryu is the shateigashira hosa of Dojima. Even though Kiryu should be a child of Dojima, not his brother... Hiroshi Hayashi is also a shateigashira hosa, but from the game's portrayal, he doesn't seem to be the brother of Chairman Goda. It’s hard to believe someone in that position would directly come to fight Kiryu. In the English version, shateigashira hosa is translated as lieutenant advisor, which is a more acceptable title compared to the Japanese version. The term "舎弟shatei" exists to denote a younger brother rather than an official position, but it is not usually used for boss characters. This is more of a personal contract between two Yakuza rather than an organizational position. For example, Shinji is Kiryu’s shatei. The brotherhood contract is a special agreement that remains valid even if they belong to different organizations. In "Yakuza 0," Sagawa, who belongs to the Omi Alliance, has a brotherhood contract with Shimano from the Tojo Clan. However, based on their conversations, it seems they consider each other equal brothers 兄弟(kyoudai) rather than one being a shatei. Characters without special titles are referred to as 子分 (kobun), 若衆 (wakashu), and 若中 (wakachu), who are children of the patriarch. The kobun of a higher-ranking organization is superior to the kobun of a lower-ranking organization because they are uncles in the pseudo-bloodline. Kashiwagi, who is the child of Dojima’s child Kazama, acts superior to Kiryu, who would be his uncle, but this is likely because they knew each other before becoming Yakuza, making it a very special case. In the Japanese version, Shinji calls Nishikiyama "uncle," but the reason is unclear. Both are children of Dojima, so they should be brothers... Among the kobun, only Kazuto Arase is specifically labeled with the insignificant title of "若中 (wakachu)" before battles, possibly to give him an imposing presence as a boss. In the Japanese version, he is called "older brother" by other kobun, so he must be higher-ranking among the kobun. In the English version, he holds the mysterious title of SERGEANT.
My favorite is kiryu vs Aizawa. I just love the fact that Aizawa thinks he can take kiryu and kiryu is just standing there bleeding out but he doesn't care. He knows he's gonna win. He's like "this mountain is too high for you to climb bro" and then you clash with him, it freezes, title card pops up, you press square and punch him in the fucking face. Like "bitch you thought?"
One detail I missed: most yakuza who belongs to a family/clan has their crest(pin) as the background of their dynamic intro Some exceptions are like Kuzes background literally says “king of boxing”
Why is both Kiryu vs Iwami and Kiryu vs Majima both really aesthetically awesome. Also Majima vs Lao Gui(Which literally means Old Ghost in Mandarin) is just cool by itself as it's Mad Dog vs Cold Snake.
crazy to think im on yakuza 4 rn and its only 6 minutes into the video, cant wait to finally see them all and be caught up with the yakuza series. its been a fantastic time so far.
I just realised how much 4 and 5 really like Saejima In 4 he has 3 dynamic intro, Akiyama only has 2, Tanimura also has 2 and Kiryu only gets 2 as well In 5 Saejima gets 2, Akiyama doesn't even have one, Shinada and Kiryu only have 1 Yeah I think there is some sort of bias at play here
I know that you won’t agree but this intro 18:50 is a pretty good one. It’s simple and unique, because even tho both of them are enemies, Someya shows respect for the 4th chairman, and Kiryu sees this and shows him the same kind of respect starting the battle with a sportsmanship start. It isn’t much but I love it
Where's all the love for both Kuroiwa fights? You get such a good gauge of his character and fighting style just from these intros, and he's menacing as hell, too.
30:16 I both love and hate that Yakuza: Like a Dragon was my introduction to the series. Didn’t really understand how special moments like this were until I started playing the games from the beginning.
Awano, Kashiwagi, Shimano, Hayashi (Y2 fight), Joji, Richardson (2nd fight), Watase, Katsuya, Kiryu vs Saejima (Y5), Baba (last fight) all deserve to have Dynamic Intros and I'm going to die on that hill.
Ryoji is the most respectable villain, he is legit the only villain I would gladly accept going to have a drink with because I can fully relax and trust to not try anything scummy or something while having a drink He is definitely a villain I can see Kiryu being friends with
The quality and quantity of Yakuza 6's dynamic intros are underappreciated (or rather Yakuza 6's high production quality in general). There's almost always one dynamic intro per chapter and I wish other Yakuza games were this consistent. Hoping Infinite Wealth follows the same consistency.
2:19 still one of my favourite, the bgm and the boss name along with that pose, the story between Kiryu & Nishiki built throughout Yakuza 0 and the downfall of Nishiki portrayed in Kiwami, everything all along together just gives me the goosebumps to this very date. I love how you can see ichiban being significantly weaker then the bosses unlike kiryu which is either stronger or as powerfull as the bosses, i think this is because most of the time the reason ichiban wins is because of his friends while kiryu is a one man army that can crush countries

Love how they made the raddest intro for Kei Ibuchi when as far as I know, he's not a major character like Kuze, Nishiki or Shibusawa.
5:12 pretty good for first dynamic intro ever huh?
I want to see the reaction of some people to this first intro...
Thank you for this! One of my fav Yakuza channels
Thank you so much
The Nishkiyama ones (Kiwami Nishiki and Okada Izo intros) are my favorite ones
My favorite has to be Kiryu vs Kuze at the 4th time they fight.
something about that stand off they do at the end always gets me.
One of my favorite things is Kiryus dragon claw, especially visible vs Iwami. Such a small detail but really just personifies him as THE dragon
people ignoring how ridiculously far and high akiyama threw arai lmao
Bro yeeted him
@@bomberman9296 YEET!
man, 4 had some amazing ones. the intros for minami, majima, and sugiuchi are so well done despite the game's age
Bruh you forgot the best one, Daigo Dojima
Why is both Kiryu vs Iwami and Kiryu vs Majima both really aesthetically awesome. Also Majima vs Lao Gui(Which literally means Old Ghost in Mandarin) is just cool by itself as it's Mad Dog vs Cold Snake.
I really likes the Kiryu v.s. Iwami intro and battle @22:15

if Majima is the protagonist of a yakuza game
if he fights Kiryu (Which come on, he will obviously do it) i want the title to be Kiryu-Chan
Like A Dragon Kiwami: Majima Saga
4:33 perfection.
That one always gets me. The music.... damnnnnn
8:03 NOOOOO sugiuchi you cant say that 😢😢
crazy to think im on yakuza 4 rn and its only 6 minutes into the video, cant wait to finally see them all and be caught up with the yakuza series. its been a fantastic time so far.
9:12 I haven't played any of the games yet beside yakuza 0, but goddamn I was not expecting that mf to be thrown *that* far
31:16
Ok that was a Massive Spoiler for me like I DON’T KNOW MY GUY BECAME A LITERAL BOSS FIGHT LMAOOO
@@revbladez5773 Technically, it could be for a third time
I just realised how much 4 and 5 really like Saejima
In 4 he has 3 dynamic intro, Akiyama only has 2, Tanimura also has 2 and Kiryu only gets 2 as well
In 5 Saejima gets 2, Akiyama doesn't even have one, Shinada and Kiryu only have 1
Yeah I think there is some sort of bias at play here
I know that you won’t agree but this intro 18:50 is a pretty good one.
It’s simple and unique, because even tho both of them are enemies, Someya shows respect for the 4th chairman, and Kiryu sees this and shows him the same kind of respect starting the battle with a sportsmanship start.
It isn’t much but I love it
I really wanted to tear Iwami's polygon head off so much in the end
Where's all the love for both Kuroiwa fights? You get such a good gauge of his character and fighting style just from these intros, and he's menacing as hell, too.
I think the 2nd kuze fight had the longest dynamic intro no cap
30:16 I both love and hate that Yakuza: Like a Dragon was my introduction to the series.
Didn’t really understand how special moments like this were until I started playing the games from the beginning.
Shimano and Awano deserved one of the these in my opinion.
My fav: Kiryu vs Nishiki
2nd: Majima vs Ibuchi
3rd: Kiryu punching Kuze
Kei Ibuchi is by far my favorite intro too bad he is the least important from all bosses from all the series
For all the intrigue he tried to pull, he was only there as Majima's stepping stone lmao.
Yakuza 3 certainly wasn’t my favourite game in the series but that final boss against mine slapped way harder than it had any right to.
massive man
I will say that Ed's theme with his intro actually got me really excited to fight him.
Kiryu vs Mine first dynamic intro and one of the best in the series
the Mine VS Kiryu intro from Y3 has to be the sickest one.
Ryoji Goda, best villain throughout the serie. Enemy or not, still gives respect to people.
Ryoji is the most respectable villain, he is legit the only villain I would gladly accept going to have a drink with because I can fully relax and trust to not try anything scummy or something while having a drink
He is definitely a villain I can see Kiryu being friends with
The quality and quantity of Yakuza 6's dynamic intros are underappreciated (or rather Yakuza 6's high production quality in general). There's almost always one dynamic intro per chapter and I wish other Yakuza games were this consistent. Hoping Infinite Wealth follows the same consistency.
Did Kiwami really only have one? I swear I remember more.
Just one, other intros where just bosses standing around while their name is being showed
DYNAMIC STARE CONTEST
Unless you count Majima Everywhere as a Dynamic intro 😅
My favorite will probably always be Kiryu vs Shibusawa it's just so damn epic all the others are great as well tho what's your favorite?
Cant decide between either majima vs ibuchi or kiryu vs mine
kiryu vs nishikiyama
@@maddogmajima7244 kiryu and mine felt so anticlimatic tho
Kiryu vs Ichiban. There’s a nice mix of emotions as you go from “oh god, I’m fighting Kiryu!” to “oh god, I’m fighting Kiryu.”
Mine is tanimura vs munakata
1:00 this was so hype
2:19 still one of my favourite, the bgm and the boss name along with that pose, the story between Kiryu & Nishiki built throughout Yakuza 0 and the downfall of Nishiki portrayed in Kiwami, everything all along together just gives me the goosebumps to this very date. Now that's what I call a FINAL/BOSS FIGHT !!
soma vs yagami dynamic intro is just an absolute banger both first and second fight
I love the fact that if akiyama threw a bit more to the left, Arai would do a Mine.
Man Kiwami 2 is so glorious

李さんマジで生きててほしかった
I love how you can see ichiban being significantly weaker then the bosses unlike kiryu which is either stronger or as powerfull as the bosses, i think this is because most of the time the reason ichiban wins is because of his friends while kiryu is a one man army that can crush countries
I know kiryu is strong but crush countries? Nope
@@wow-zc1fq idk the man fucking got double team by two bigass tigers and destroyed them and single handed 100 tojo men all by himself if kiryu went to any other country he would still roundhouse everyone in existence
