@archersterling6726 Isn't it also the symbolism of their tattoos? How the Koi (also nishiki) is destined for greatness and has to cross the gate, but the dragon (Kiryu's) is supposed to guard the gate as a final test?
The best part of this fight for me is how much of it is a literal metaphor. It starts with Aisawa rising from the chairman's seat knowing that it doesn't belong to him but hoping killing Kiryu will make him feel like he earned it. Instead, as the fight progresses, Kiryu forces Aisawa out the room, down the hall and further and further away from both it and the dream it represents before finally being kicked out the front door and sent flying out of the building to be left beaten out in the cold. Kiryu quite literally dragged Aisawa out of the chairman's seat and threw him out of the Tojo clan.
In a ploy to maintain some sort of legacy after his death, Kurosawa orchestrates an elaborate conspiracy in order to have his inherit both the Tojo and Omi Alliance. However, Aizawa, having been estranged from his father for so long, finds no value in this. It does not stop him from accepting this position, but he feels the need to prove himself as the strongest in order to feel worthy as clan leader. Kiryu Kazuma stands as the final obstacle in this path. But aizawa basically not knowing why tf he’s the final boss is super funny too lmao
The fact Aizawa has a koi on his back made this all so poetic, he wants to climb the waterfall that is kiryu kazuma to ascend to his dragonhood ( tojo's chairmanship) but in the end is proved to not be worthy, being stopped in his tracks by a true dragon.
This whole fight was Kiryu's best moment in the entire franchise for me. Dude's half dead, past his prime, estranged from his loved ones and still manages to prove himself as the undisputed king of the Tojo clan, all whilst giving Aizawa a true lesson in humility and respect. It's just so cool to see him come this far if your first game was 0.
Kiryu was completely unfazed by Shishido, felt like ‘I gotta get him realise that his dream is dead’, not ‘fighting for dreams of others’. I mean, fight starts with Kiryu casually blocking katana like it’s nothing. Plus, Aizawa has one-hit kill final QTE
@@ИванЮров-т5г Based Aizawa enjoyer Aizawa > Shishido. Btw Kiryu admits Aizawa dream and wants to help him achieve it, but against Shishido dream and stops him

@@cattlecumwewlad6941 The color of the aura on his body is similar, but the swirly effect on attacks is completely unique to Aizawa. Still, it makes sense: Aizawa is a heavy Nishiki parallel in quite a few ways, and his aura only reinforces that.
Nobody talks about aizawa sexy tattoo. The black carp. "According to legend koi attempt to swim against the current of China’s Yellow River and up a waterfall, but only a few of them are able to swim past a point called the Dragon’s Gate. The koi who make it through the Gate are rewarded by turning into dragons. For this reason, koi carp are also a symbol of determination and a strong will to succeed, as well as strength and bravery. The black koi is associated with successfully overcoming an obstacle and symbol of masculinity, and in Japan represents the father. It often symbolizes a successful battle through struggle in one’s life. A koi swimming upstream symbolizes being in a battle or struggle, still overcoming obstacles without giving up. It also symbolizes gaining the strength needed to continue against the current."

The adrenaline rush Aizawa was experiencing must have been a whole new level of crazy. Because how the FUCK do you get your head slammed to the ground after jumping over a flight of stairs, and then get up like nothing happened???
Despite Aizawa being the random copout final boss, at least I give him astronomically far more respect than Yakuza 6’s main villain and final boss. At least Aizawa can fight, be entertaining, and be a threat. Honestly he’s the inverse of Iwami. Where Aizawa didn’t care for his dad’s plan to give all the power to him (and fight Kiryu to believe he’s earned it), Iwami was a pampered little man child who believed he deserved it all without truly realizing what that entailed.
One thing that stuck out to me when I was fighting this guy was how often he would go for cheap shots to Kiryu's wounded stomach. Obviously it makes sense that he would whatever it took to win, but to me it showed a lack of confidence in his own strength. He knew deep down that he didn't stand a chance against Kiryu on even footing, so he latched onto the only advantage he had. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I thought it was interesting.
Another thing I noticed is that when Kiryu-chan revealed his wound, Aizawa kind of hesitated to fight. It was a subtle expression change but it made a change.
I'm actually led to believe otherwise, specially seeing the first QTE, in which he only goes for Kiryu's stomach twice, one being a front kick which would be rather hard to aim anywhere else except your opponent's body (and when he throws a second one, he aims it at Kiryu's chest), and another one being a headbutt, which is the only thing he could try to do in the position he was in at that moment.

cinematically, this is my favorite fight in the entire series besides someya's final battle. When kiryu slammed his head into the ground i was like "DAAAMN". Also one of the best final boss osts in the series
It will always be hilarious to me that this is the most random out of nowhere garbage final boss from a story perspective, but from a gameplay perspective this is the best fight RGG has ever made (in my opinion at least) Edit: Holy hell this blew up wtf. I've seen a lot of replies misunderstanding what I meant so I figured I should articulate my thoughts a bit better. First off, calling it "garbage" was an over exaggeration on my part, but I still maintain the sentiment that this is a pretty weak final encounter from a plot perspective. The twist that Aizawa was Kurosawa's son the whole time has little to no foreshadowing at all, and it feels completely unearned for him to suddenly be important without any buildup to it or anything. The only thing that could even qualify as a hint to it (that I remember at least, it's been a while) is the reveal the Morinaga is also Omi, but that's a stretch imo. I understand the symbolism and how the fight plays into the message of the game, I purely meant from a plot perspective only. And I still maintain that this fight is amazing in terms of gameplay. Also yes Shishido is everything Aizawa wanted to be lmao.
This fight isn't really about aizawa it's more about kiryu's legend status in this series. The entire game he's been running away from his life as a yakuza legend only until the end of the game he accepts his legend status to test aizawa to see if he can become one too. Aizawa is pretty deep too the guy wants to carve his own path but instead was given his position by his father, he has his own dream but is forced to take on the dream of his dad but finally gets his chance to prove himself by beating kiryu.
@@neoarmstrongcyclonejetarms6680 Aizawa for me is more interesting as a symbol. Kurosawa is someone who hate what the series is trying to say and only wants to see his power as something meaningful and Aizawa disrespect that. He wants to be at the top and beat the legends to prove himself, just like Nishiki. Aizawa is the responsibility that Kiryu don't want and already take care and will put a end. He already prove that he can face depression, he can face Nishiki, Ryuji and at the Tojo Clan Aizawa is the final point that Kiryu have to put. Is amazing, is basically a fight against all meaningful battle that we with Kiryu have and this time to protect the dream of others. This entire game has an amazing write

Definitely the most challenging final boss in the series imo, it actually felt like Kiryu had to beat someone younger and stronger than him. I find it crazy that Kiryu not only had a bullet wound in the same place but a second one really close to his shoulder joint in the end of kiwami 2 and still managed to kick Ryuji's ass whom he said was the strongest man he's ever fought.
Yakuza 5 was actually on par with 0 for me. Maybe it's because going from Kiwami 1/2 to 3 and 4 pissed me off but 5 was so much fun that I didn't care about how long the fight was. It's the same length as a long battle in 0 but holy shit it went hard
My favorite memory from this is that I beat this game the same night of my highschool graduation and i woke up late the next day after watching the ungodly long cutscene after the fight, I Would do it again in a heartbeat if I could
Sometimes I wish Yakuza would be more willing to commit to some characters and have some growth through multiple games. Aizawa would've been a good addition in 6 coming back for his 2nd fight with Kiryu.
Say what you want about the plot, in terms of gameplay and cinematics, this fight is by far one of the most amazing. I was really getting down a bit toward the end after freaking Shinada's fight (Because seriously screw his combat style), but this.....this made it all worth it. Kiryu, Saejima, Akiyama, grew to love these characters.
If I had a nickel for everytime RGG studios made a final antagonist called “Masato” I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened twice.
on my first time fighting him I failed the qte after the dynamic intro because I thought there would never be any at that moment.. weak as a main game final boss as is but if you revert it as "Kiryu is Aizawa's final boss' then it becomes understandable.
Aizawa is misunderstood character. His role into the story is very different. He wasn't even the main bad guy of the story. His father was. The Yakuza fans just repeat what others says. Like A Broken Record. It's the case with JoJo fans. Where other listen to others what they say. I remember how the main villain of the eight part got huge amount of hate because it wasn't what they expected. Senator Armstrong also appeared at the very end of MGR yet nobody said a thing. Why does Aizawa sudden reveal is such a big deal? Also weird how the out of nowhere chars gets the best fights.

cinematically, this is my favorite fight in the entire series besides someya's final battle. When kiryu slammed his head into the ground i was like "DAAAMN". Also one of the best final boss osts in the series
Jeez Aizawa is built like the place where they get the bricks for a Japanese brick shit-house
1:26 the naked panther
It will always be hilarious to me that this is the most random out of nowhere garbage final boss from a story perspective, but from a gameplay perspective this is the best fight RGG has ever made (in my opinion at least)
Edit: Holy hell this blew up wtf.
Is one of the best in the entire franchise if you focus on themes instead of plot lmao. This fight is deep as fuck for Kiryu
Sometimes dudes just need to fight. The vision is clear to me. Zenith of the medium.
gameplay wise ranks are
1. Aizawa
2. Shibusawa
3. Ryuji
4. Nishiki
5. Mine
6. Daigo

The fact that this wasn't all the qte's in the fight, its almost a short film at this point
As good as the final battles in Judgment/Lost Judgment were, they are lacking in the QTE department. Just look at how many badass QTE moments are there in this fight alone!
While that may be true the stage transition in judgement's final boss is nothing short of legendary and spoilers for the fight...
The fake out where kuroiwa climbs back into the area for round 2
5 and 0 just have banger QTEs in general, for nearly every major boss fight.
Tell me that both of Kuroiwas dynamic intros are not absolute fire. Also Soma has very good dynamic intros and Tesso’s is pretty simple but damn good.
The most epic battle in yakuza series! I at least dont hate aizawa as 99% of the public, so i like the Boss, the battle, the music and the QTE's
[GAIDEN SPOILERS]
Coming back to this fight after Gaiden's final boss is really interesting. It was cool to see that the battle with Shishido was basically a giant callback to this bossfight. Hell, even thier themes are similar.
I did not read this but I'm here to thank you a lot for warning me unlike certain other individuals in the comment section.
Much appreciated. Have a wonderful day!
Unfortunately, in the end shishido was taken somewhere else and maybe got killed ☠️, while aizawa is unknown afterwards, even until now 🤷🏻♂️
This is was the best final boss fight in the franchise
I want Aizawa to come back.
He could make a return honestly, and he could become a good guy too
@@kazatori Right? I want to see him on the top, or at least with his own family. Maybe that way Kiryu would be convinced he's grown up and they'd become allies. That's my *dream*
Tojo Omi none of them exists anymore
@@58HeccYUME
@@samyadeepdatta9043 still they have to get a job somewhere or go to a different yakuza clan. The substories would go nuts
Can we talk about Kiryu fighting style in those Qte my man is so fluid like in 1:10
Holy shit, this is sick. I know you said you might do something like this, but I didn't expect you to make it so soon. Also, I love what you did with the fights end cinematic. I wasn't a big fan of the og theme they used for his defeat, and I thought it would've fit if they used his actual theme instead. So glad you made this.
It's funny how Gaiden final boss it's Literally just Aizawa but with a better story lmfao
RGG took fans criticism seriously LMAO, they took a good gameplay Aizawa and put him in a good story, they definitely redeem themselves
@@andresashura5550 100% like they literally made the best final boss the franchise ever saw in a freaking side game also deadly struggle goes hard
This boss was so much fun.

"At the end of the day its just a battle for the dream"-john yakuza
so far this my fucking favorite track in yakuza series🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
One of the best song of 2012
Did I make this up but wasn’t there a qte where Aizawa grabbed that massive wooden statue in the lobby and swung it at Kiryu, and if you got the button press Kiryu rolls over it?
Yep, that one exists. This video lacks several qte scenes
Yep, one handed too
Funnily enough, I remember reading somewhere that Saejima made that massive wooden statue.
Yeah, there were also the following QTEs:
1. Aizawa and Kiryu get into a test of strength, butting heads.
2. The aforementioned Wooden Statue QTE.
3. Kiryu and Aizawa trading blows.
Aizawa is so rad. He got multiple QTEs.
Still one of if not my favorite boss themes from the series
I like how he’s basically wearing kiryu pants from 0, I think there is some symbolism there maybe
@eduardo cabaleiro I’m saying his pants in 0 could be based of Aizawa pants in 5 for symbolism
@@sirpiss1708 what symbolism

@@sirpiss1708Kiryu won with a lot of things to overcome against the dragon, with Aizawa and his “training” under the shadows shows as no effort to get to overcoming the dragon
Aizawa started with nothing, then was willing to betray his oath brother for power, and proved his strength against Saejima. He's Nishiki if he had beaten Kiryu, so the black koi is REALLY fitting
Definitely the most challenging final boss in the series imo, it actually felt like Kiryu had to beat someone younger and stronger than him. And the game didn't give you any kind of disadvantage because he was injured either as far as I could tell. Assuming you weren't maxed out and had all the moves of course.
He’s difficult but the hardest in the series is most definitely Kuroiwa
@@anatoliasmercenary.Kuroiwa ain't that hard imo
@@moron4I mean his ultra attack is a one shot kill on legend. I also agree, he's the hardest final boss in the series gameplay wise besides mine bc of yakuza 3 physics

"No, you won't." Kiryu overpowers Aizawa and throw him like a doll.
It was a shame that the boss was this character, but at least the BGM and direction of this battle was the best of the final bosses of all time.
is it just me or i think in the intro, it looks like nishikis dynamic intro and in here 3:15 it looks like the elbow counter in ryuji bossfight
and one more, here 3:35 which is same as the final qte in ryuji bossfight
I find it crazy that Kiryu not only had a bullet wound in the same place but a second one really close to his shoulder joint in the end of kiwami 2 and still managed to kick Ryuji's ass whom he said was the strongest man he's ever fought.
I did this battle without healing since the fight in front of Millenium Tower. Was amazing since i was struggling to keep myself alive.
Yakuza 5 was actually on par with 0 for me. Maybe it's because going from Kiwami 1/2 to 3 and 4 pissed me off but 5 was so much fun that I didn't care about how long the fight was. It's the same length as a long battle in 0 but holy shit it went hard
Going from Kiwami 2 to Yakuza 3 was actually an upgrade going backwards
wth Yakuza 4's combat was pretty refined and good, dare I say the most balanced we got
Yakuza 5 is actually better than 0 imo.
Yea fr, Idc what people say, Yakuza 5 is peak yakuza. Yk 0 takes the second place.
i wanted to agree but part 2 and 3 were just snoozefests 😢
Best fight in the series next to ryo nozaki
The last thing aizawa hears before getting grab comboed to death
love it
Kazuma Kiryu vs Masato Aizawa.
The fight that destroyed my controller on legend difficulty
My favorite memory from this is that I beat this game the same night of my highschool graduation and i woke up late the next day after watching the ungodly long cutscene after the fight, I Would do it again in a heartbeat if I could
Just love to see how koi want to be dragon so bad
3:05 omfg
When the boss literally makes zero sense to be there but the music is such a damn banger you don’t even care
Sometimes I wish Yakuza would be more willing to commit to some characters and have some growth through multiple games. Aizawa would've been a good addition in 6 coming back for his 2nd fight with Kiryu.
相沢は個人的に好きなキャラだから、
もっと出番多くしてラスボスの器に仕立て上げて欲しかった😢
Say what you want about the plot, in terms of gameplay and cinematics, this fight is by far one of the most amazing. I was really getting down a bit toward the end after freaking Shinada's fight (Because seriously screw his combat style), but this.....this made it all worth it. Kiryu, Saejima, Akiyama, grew to love these characters.
Shinada’s fight style is so fun
Honestly the energy this fight offers can not be matched with the others, rgg surely put a lot effort into this fight specifically
perfection
If I had a nickel for everytime RGG studios made a final antagonist called “Masato” I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened twice.
Who's the other Masato?
@@suckassmork2972 Masato Arakawa

The Kiryu saga peaked at 5. Even 6 couldn’t compare to this.
true, you really don’t see all that many people talking about the post 6 kiryu stuff as often
Shishido is Masato but better ngl
i like the fact that both fights took place in each respective HQ, Tojo and Omi
A cornered beast Shishido against the reigning beast Masato, that's different
Shishido if he was a bad antagonist:

Don't know why, but from some angles, Aizawa looks like Kaito.
Amazing
on my first time fighting him I failed the qte after the dynamic intro because I thought there would never be any at that moment..
weak as a main game final boss as is but if you revert it as "Kiryu is Aizawa's final boss' then it becomes understandable.
If this song ain't played at my funeral, I ain't dying lmao
Aizawa doesn't even know why he is the boss💀💀💀
1:58 damn perfect timing
Also, really nice video man
With the calming of the song, it just looked like aizawa just died right then and there lol
Kiryu is fighting Aizawa, epitome of Kurosawa’s, the man who wanted to destroy everyone else’s, dream.
holy shit is that the Yakuza 1 - Hideout motif at 2:00 or am i hearing things
Idc what people say Aizawa the best boy and boss
Aizawa is misunderstood character. His role into the story is very different. He wasn't even the main bad guy of the story. His father was. The Yakuza fans just repeat what others says. Like A Broken Record. It's the case with JoJo fans. Where other listen to others what they say. I remember how the main villain of the eight part got huge amount of hate because it wasn't what they expected. Senator Armstrong also appeared at the very end of MGR yet nobody said a thing. Why does Aizawa sudden reveal is such a big deal? Also weird how the out of nowhere chars gets the best fights.
@@MasatakaEbina He's still bad in the sense that he massacred those tojo guys to prove he can make it to the top by his own hands. But yeah, his father forcing the dream upon him under the assumption that Aizawa is incapable of doing it is still pretty shitty.
@@angelusvastator1297 Didn't he just beat them up? That's the least bad thing.
@@MasatakaEbina No it's clearly a massacre. You can see blood stained on the walls.
@@angelusvastator1297 If it was a massacre. Shit ton of blood would have been on everywhere. However it was mostly just on some few places. And blood on the walls? The heat action where you punch someone on a wall exists. Aizawa did held a katana but it wasn't even bloodied. It was the tojo clan katana. And the dudes were actually gone in Aizawa fight. And remember how Aizawa and Kiryu were bloodied after their fight.
I liked how Aizawa had way too many health bars so you can thoroughly enjoy clowning on him one last time.
