I just can’t get over the emotional delivery of Dany’s vocals! Chills. The tiny scream, I’m glad you caught that, just awesome. I would be remiss not to mention that bass line - incredible. The whole composition of the song is brilliant and Dany's haunting vocals shoot it into the stratosphere for me. I am super impressed with how each song on keep me fed is distinctly different, but yet so obviously The Warning! I love this song, but i say that about every one of them on this albom! lol...just incredible. Thanks, nice analysis! That guitar solo is freakin fire! she has said she had to learn to use a slide guitar style playing to do that and it is just fantastic!
I am also super impressed. For some reason I keep thinking the next song by The Warning I listen to won't blow me away, and yet so far I am always blown away. This song, especially the pre-chorus, haunts me. I know that at this point it's a meme that the last song by TW you listen to is your favorite song, but I do think Satisfied might just become one of my favorite songs. I'm not ready to call it because it's still fresh, but I have a feeling. I did hear in some interview she had to learn the slide for a song but I forgot which one it was! Thank you for reminding me of that and untangling the "mystery" of the sOuNdS~

The person is telling her "I don't care" instead of talking about their true feelings, and she is telling them that is such an easy lie to keep from dealing with the problem. Many people would rather just say "I don't care" than open up about how they feel and risk being hurt, or looking weak. A lot of the time people who say "I don't care" actually care very much, they just don't want to show it. The Warning's lyrics are often left ambiguous, and that is brilliant songwriting. That scream sounds like someone who is so frustrated with the person saying "I don't care" to the point where all they can do is scream. I've been to that point and I'm sure many others have as well, lol. Keep going with The Warning Reactions and you will discover that every song can have multiple meanings and interpretations, they do that on purpose. Absolute genius.
The Warning's lyrics are indeed brilliant! I can, and have, spent so much time digging into them. My mental image of this song was a bit different than what you described but I think if we were to look for "canonical" interpretation what you said makes more sense. Although, broadly speaking, it's the same thing, just on a different scale. Seeing different people's interpretations that all make sense even though they are different is one of my favorite things.
@@bsdsuPASTA i heard it in my first listen and watch if others hear it too... when pointed out, some respond that they thought it was like a different filler vocal sound... kind of like how some songs have a distant wailing in the back, for example... listening again with the realization that it is a scream does change things a little bit...
@@WaldoKitty Yeah, realizing there's a scream between the pre-chorus and the chorus does add to the feel of the song. Right between "I will do anything" and "Can't keep hating you" is just the right spot for it! I'm still surprised many people missed it, there's only drums (that I can hear) when the scream comes, but at the same time, knowing how focus works, it's understandable. For reference, there's been a study where they asked people to watch a football game (or soccer, if you're American) and count how many times they pass the ball. At some point a guy in a gorilla suit walks to the center of the field and stays there for good few seconds, then leaves. When asked about the gorilla most participants said they didn't see a gorilla. That's because they were laser focused on counting how many times the ball was passed. I imagine something like that is happening in other reaction videos.

Yeah, I noticed while editing that the bit where I talked about the "I don't care" line wasn't very clear :( I put some extra text on screen but there's only so much that can do. The way I understand it is that the speaker is trying to avoid the "I don't care" reaction in people (or someone specific, I personally imagine the speaker as a public figure but she doesn't have to be) and like chalk she spends herself to try and satisfy those people (or that person). "Is such an easy lie, is such an easy lie" to me is the speaker repeating to herself that when people say "I don't care" they are lying, and she's repeating it because she wants to believe it. That scream felt more subtle than some of the other screams in TW's songs. For a second I really questioned whether there was a scream or the thunderstorm was making funny noises outside 😄 The slide sounds were the right choice for this song. The whole lyrics + singing voice + overall sonic experience fits so well together in this song ❤ I'm glad you liked the reaction.
