Pau(lina) Villarreal Vélez also left the drums for at least two songs in this concert. She is also the creative head of the band. But she composes the songs at the piano. Guitarist Dani(ela) is the main vocalist. All three learned piano at the age of five.
The Warning comes about when Pau and Dany are six and eight and their parents give them the video game Rock Band. Ale(jandra) is only three and claps. The two ask their parents to pay for drums and guitar lessons. Their father gives them half a year, then they would give up. In 2014, aged 9/12/14, they release a cover of Metallica's Enter Sandman on RUclips for their friends and family. The video goes viral:

An EP and two self-published LPs follow. In 2020, they signed a 5-album record deal with Universal sub-label Lava. Before the pandemic, they had planned a tour with over 20 stops in North America via crowdfunding. With Lava it will be over 100 in 2022, along with Halestorm, Pretty Reckless and others. They are now headliners themselves and will be appearing at festivals in Europe this summer.

Here is some basic information about The Warning just to get you up to speed, but there is always more to learn.
They are bilingual, fluent in both Spanish and English. Although they compose their music primarily in English, they have two Spanish language songs, both are crowd favorites no matter where they play them.
The three-member band consists of Dany (Daniela) Villarreal Velez who is 23 y/o on lead guitar and vocals, and her sisters, Pau (Paulina) who is 21 y/o on drums and vocals, and Ale (Alejandra) who is 18 y/o on bass guitar and backing vocals. They are from Monterrey, Mexico. All three are classically-trained pianists. Although they have yet to use the instrument on any if their compositions, both Dany and Ale also play saxophone. Clearly, they are musical prodigies.
They fell in love with Rock music at an early age through watching concert videos of such bands as Queen, Pink Floyd, and AC/DC that their parents played for them. Also, their parents bought them the game Rockband which Dany and Pau loved playing even when Ale was 3 y/o and too young to join in. Note: later versions of the game include songs by The Warning. Ale loved watching her sisters play. Luis and Monica, their parents, noticed how skilled Dany was playing the mock guitar at age 7 and how coordinated Pau was on the mock drums at age 5 and asked them if they wanted to try learning the real instruments. They hooked them up with instruments and professional lessons.
Dany suffered through the sore fingertips that comes with learning to play the guitar, but her love of the instrument never failed. Pau loved hitting things, so it was natural that she become a drummer, even though she had difficulty finding anyone who wanted to teach her because she was barely bigger than a toddler and being a girl playing a traditionally male instrument didn't help either. But before long, her tenacity impressed a professional drummer enough that he took her under his wing to turn her raw talent and coordination into skill. When Ale was old enough, she wanted to play an instrument as well and fell in love with the bass guitar, even if the half-scale bass she started out on was as big as she was. When they realized that the instruments they were learning to play formed the basis of a rock band, they started learning to play them together.
They officially formed a Rock band in 2012 when they were 12, 10 and 7 and like most bands, they started out playing covers of their favorite songs. They recorded their mini shows to share with their grandparents and other relatives. But, since the videos were too big to send via email, they created a RUclips channel and uploaded their videos. Eventually, strangers started to watch their videos as well and word began to spread about the three sisters from Mexico who played Rock music.
In 2014, a cover of Metallica's Enter Sandman went viral with millions of views, and the rest is, as they say, history. Based on their new-found fame, they ended up the subject of interviews on local TV shows due largely to the novelty of being a Rock band at their ages, but also how well they played. In the US, they appeared on The Ellen Show. Ellen, along with Target, sponsored them to attend the summer session of Berklee College of Music in Boston where they expanded their knowledge of music theory, song composition, etc.
Ale's bass teacher was also instrumental in encouraging all of them to compose their own music. So, each of them has written complete songs although over the years they have arrived at a system for writing their original music. Pau starts off a song with a basic beat, the main riff, and some lyrics. She usually does this on a piano at home or on a midi keyboard plugged into her laptop computer. When she has the basic structure of a song, she demos it to her sisters and the three of them decide whether to continue work on the song or to nix it altogether with a simple vote of 2 out of 3 majority rules. Although they are sisters and of course have sibling squabbles from time to time, they usually argue the most in the process of composing their music. Their first songs explored their range of interests and musical influences as they searched for a sound and genre they wanted to pursue. They compiled an EP of their early music titled Escape the Mind. Though they didn't initially intend to release it publicly, their growing following persuaded them otherwise.
Their first full album was released in 2017, titled XXI Century Blood. The album also contains some of their earliest compositions and the process of recording helped solidify their sound and musical direction showing a great deal of maturity for their ages. Several of the songs have become fan favorites and still appear on their concert setlists.
Their second album was released in 2018, titled Queen of the Murder Scene. It is an ambitious undertaking, essentially a Rock novel about a girl falling into love unrequited, eventually stalking and murdering the object of her obsession, and subsequently, her descent into self-destructive madness. It was during the composition of this album that the three truly arrived at their present system for creating their music as a team. Several of the songs presented unique challenges for them as they continued to expand their knowledge of music and experimented with key changes and varying tempos. They learned that working together was often the best way to resolve the problems they faced in creating their music.
Over the years, they were approached by several labels and production companies wanting to sign them to a contract. But each time, they wanted to change their look, their music, or both. Even Disney approached them about creating a series based on their lives. But they refused to change what they envisioned for themselves, and they stayed true to their musical dream and ambitions. Late in 2019, they were first approached by Lava/Republic Records and for the first time a label was interested in them for who they are and their music for what it is. After several months of negotiation, they signed a five album deal becoming the first Latin American band signed to a major US label.
They had also planned a major tour of the US for 2020, which was cut short by the Pandemic, but it also afforded them plenty of time to produce their third album, to be called Error. It was recorded in the fall and winter of 2020 in New Jersey with award-winning producer, David Bendeth. They began releasing singles from the recording session in mid-2021 with the intention of supporting their releases with an extensive tour. But because of the continuing uncertainty of the Pandemic, those tour dates kept being pushed back and the plans for their album's release were also impacted. As they had released several singles already, and their fans clamored for more, they issued an EP consisting of six tracks, including the aforementioned singles from their upcoming album, titling the collection Mayday.
With the relaxing of restrictions on touring, The Warning started appearing live again in early 2022 as part of their Mayday tour with shows in Mexico and Las Vegas before opening in Mexico City for the Foo Fighters. In Mid-2022, they released the full album titled Error, consisting for 14 tracks, 8 new tracks added to the six previously released on the Mayday EP.
Over the course of the past year, in addition to touring the US as a headliner, they have played at several festivals and have also opened for Mammoth WVH, Halestorm, Stone Temple Pilots, Three Days Grace, and in early 2023 they opened four shows in Mexico for their rock heroes and musical influence Muse. They have also been working on new material in songwriting sessions with several songwriters and producers since December while also planning their first European tour, during which they are already scheduled to open several more shows for Muse.
For the love of god please stop describing them as "classically-trained" pianists. Yes, they are amazing, but no embellishments required. And yes, I'm well aware of the videos of them playing the piano as young girls, this does not equate to "classically-trained".

The Warning are three sisters from Monterrey, Mexico that started making music very young Alejandra (Ale = Aleh, not the beer. Bass, backing vocals and keyboard, the youngest- 18) and Paulina (Pau = Pow. Drums, backing/lead vocals and keyboard, middle sister 21) at 3 and Daniela (Dany = Dany. Guitar, lead vocals and keyboard, the oldest 23) 5, all learning classical piano. They got the video game Rock Band and fell in love with the feeling of performing on other instruments. Their father asked if they wanted to learn another instrument and the girls jumped at the opportunity and gravitated to the instruments they played in Rock Band.
They had been uploading their musical journey to RUclips for their family to see and had wanted to try and play music together as a band around 2012 and started rehearsing for a small performance for their school xmas show. Well They loved the experience so much they began learning and playing cover songs of hard rock and metal bands. One song in particular shot them into the limelight. That song, "Enter Sandman" by Metallica had gone viral (currently over 22 000 000 views) and had gotten the attention of Metallica, Dee Snyder and The Ellen Show! The Warning wrote, composed and recorded an EP called Escape the Mind in 2015 to experience that whole process and to determine what type of music they liked to make... Thankfully they chose Rock/Hard Rock! Ellen Degeneres invited the band to play live on her show, to which they accepted and played "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne, after the performance Ellen and Target awarded the sisters $10,000 each to attend Berklee School of Music in Boston, Ma. USA.
They performed a number of small and large shows afterward and began writing and composing new material for their first full length album "XXI Century Blood" in 2017. They supported this album with some very high profile gigs like opening for Def Leppard and separately The Killers for two shows each in Mexico. Also following other large rock bands in a couple music festivals. In 2018 they wrote and recorded "Queen of the Murder Scene" and released it in November of that year and have toured Mexico and South American venues.
In June of 2019 they released a single, "Narcisista". A scathing rebuke of their Mexican critics that had accused the band of being "Malinchista" a Mexican term used to call out cultural traitors, because the group has only recorded English language songs. Well this song is in Spanish and it is full of attitude and angst fired toward those critics. The Warning is totally fan-funded through Patreon, RUclips and crowdfunding platforms like GoFundMe and Kickstarter. They have turned down offers from record labels and talent shows like American Idol because they did not want to lose their control of their music, image and wanted to focus on learning. In fact in one interview with a record label they were asked if they would rather play to 12 people or 12000. Paulina piped up and said The Warning would rather play in front of 12 if it meant they would keep their integrity and could play the music they want to play, how they want to play... That is the most Rock n Roll quote ever!
So after a very successful Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for a North American tour and to record a new album achieving their goal within 24 hours and surpassing that goal by 600%. Unfortunately the Covid-19 Pandemic forced the band to cancel their tour plans and postpone making their album. Their last live show before the global lockdown was March 14 2020 at the Vive Latino 2020 Festival in Mexico City.This did not stop The Warning from performing though, they played a full concert set from their basement studio/rehearsal space for free for their fans on RUclips and Facebook achieving well over 50,000 simultaneous viewers on March 25, 2020. They have since performed from The Warning Cave a couple more times including for the city of Brownsville, Tx. for the Fourth of July virtual celebration and later in the summer for a charity event with rock legends like Slash and Ringo Star.
On August 9th 2020 The Warning announced to their Patreon community that after seven long months of negotiations they had signed a five record deal with Lava Records, a label under the Republic Records and Universal Music family. During the announcement they reiterated their dedication to their own creative integrity and dedicated fans on Patreon and were able to retain both in their record contract with Lava. In Sept of 2020 The Warning traveled to New Jersey, USA to begin rehearsal and eventually recording of their third album. After three months of recording and a month and a half of mastering, mixing and editing the third album was completed at the beginning of February, 2021. All that remains as of 22/02/21 is the album design and artwork and logistics of the release which will hopefully happen by the end of 2021.
In March of 2021 The Warning was invited to cover a song from Metallica's eponymous 5th album (The Black Album) with Canadian Grammy and Juno award winning pop star Alessia Cara for Metallica's Blacklist album. A 30th anniversary celebration for the Metallica album. They selected to record Enter Sandman, a fitting song because it was this song that propelled The Warning 7 years previous into stardom. The Warning reimagined the song with Alessia and produced a fresh new feeling that goes above and beyond what others have done with the song...

On October 8th, 2021, The Warning released six songs that were recorded for the new album on an EP titled Mayday with the remaining 6 songs to be released at a later date.
Starting on the 18th of Feburary 2022 The Warning started out on their previously twice cancelled North American Mayday Tour. Their forst show was on Saltillo Mx followed by a short set openning for Mammoth WVH in Las Vegas, NV and another short set opening for Sammy Hagar in Austin Tx at the SXSW Festival. Three sisters from Monterrey, MX. They started in 2012. They became The Warning in 2013. Today they are Dany, guitarrist 23, Pau, drummer 21, and Ale, bassist 18.
In 2022 they did over 100 gigs in North and South American along with Halestorm and Three Days Grace. They recently did four shows with Muse.
They are all three classically trained pianists and Dany & Ale can play sax. All three sing lead and background vocals. They were inspired by the video game Rock Band and two of their songs are available on Rock Band IV. They appeared on the Ellen Show in 2015.
They attended Berklee College of Music Summer Program in Boston in 2015. They are fully bilingual as they attended a bilingual Catholic school in Monterrey, Liceo de Monterrey.
They started as a cover band and now have 46 original songs in an EP, three albums, and a single. No bad songs. They have a rich collection of live videos, music videos and lyric videos on their channel. There are also vlogs and individual performances.
At home they are humble down to earth individuals.

You have found the cure for the sad state of rock the past several years. These young ladies have been restoring rock to it's rightful place for over ten years now. They started as children showing amazing talent while doing covers. However, it was when they started writing their own music that they really started the journey they're on to becoming the biggest thing in music since another big thing in music happened in my early teenage years - that was called Beatlemania and I really am that old. I'm convinced the world needs to get ready for The Warningmania. Since they've been writing great music from such a very young age, there's already a large catalogue for you to choose from. Frankly, it really doesn't matter what you choose, every single thing they've done is just about perfect. You will find that their live performances are every bit as great as their official videos, with the added bonus of the energy exchange that takes place between them and their audiences. The Villarreal Velez sisters are amazing songwriters and performers from Mexico who live in Monterrey, San Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon. Each one of their original songs is great. Their second album, "QUEEN OF THE MURDER SCENE", is a concept album. It follows a girl's journey into unrequited love; from infatuation and obsession on into stalking and murder, then madness and the fight over her soul. It is a masterpiece. It was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2019 Independent Music Awards.
Their 1st full-length LP, "XXI CENTURY BLOOD", is also very good and is packed with many great songs. The video for the title track, "XXI Century Blood", was nominated for and won many awards.
Their very 1st released recordings are from their 6 song EP, "ESCAPE THE MIND"; and it is amazing.
Despite being courted by numerous offers from many major record labels, The Warning have stayed independent through the years; relying on crowd funding to finance their projects. They refused to give up creative control over their material ... down to even the clothes they wear on stage.
After 7 months of negotiations, The Warning signed a 5 album recording contract with Lava/Republic Records/Universal Music Group in the fall of 2020.
They decided to release 1/2 (6 songs) of their completed 3rd full-length album in an EP called "MAYDAY" October 8th, 2021. The entire album was released June 24th, 2022: called "ERROR". "Disciple" is my favorite track!
The Warning do not come from a family of musicians, however, their parents are huge fans of classic rock.
Both parents are professionals (civil engineer and dentist) and they enrolled their daughters into a private Catholic English speaking school Liceo de Monterrey, Mexico.
They also started the girls with classical piano lessons at ages 6, 4 and 5 years old.
Regular family functions included gathering around the TV with popcorn and watching LIVE concert dvds of legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and AC/DC.
When their parents got them the video game Rock Band at ages 8, 6 and 3, they went nuts playing it obsessively. A year or so later, they got "real" instruments with lessons from professional teachers: and the rest is history. Amazing they are 23, 21 and 18 years old and have already written, arranged, and released #46 original songs.
I was fortunate enough to get to meet them after their show January 16th, 2020 at The Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood, California. I had the opportunity to meet with them 2 more times during the 6 shows I attended on their recent North American MAYDAY Tour. And I just got tickets this morning to 4 more upcoming shows next month!
Aside from their music, they are just normal, sweet, intelligent, and fun-loving young ladies who are truely grateful and endearing to their fans.

The best power trio sisters in universe.
I first discovered The Warning back in mid 2015 when they were literally children doing covers and their father was posting videos of them on you tube for friends and family to see the girls progress. I knew right off the bat that there was something special about these three “little girls”. It has been nearly eight years since I saw a video of them doing a cover of Metallicas Enter Sandman and have not missed a single day since in which I have listened to or watched a video of these amazing young sisters.
In my 63 plus years of life I have never been so into a band as I am these young ladies. They are simply in a class of their own as no two songs sound alike. They exhibit a very wide range of “styles” in their music, yet at the same time have created a unique and distinct sound that is unmistakably their own. I believe it is impossible for them to produce a bad song.
I have been saying for many years now that they would one day be known world wide and be recognized as one of, if not the greatest power trio of all time. The drums girl is Pau (Pow!! - short for Paulina), and she's one of the most talented people I've seen in a long time. She has very quickly become my favourite drummer because of her amazing energy, and she is also the band's primary songwriter, beginning most of their songs on piano first.
They've been doing this for years - I believe Ale (Al-lay, short for Alejandra) was 10, Pau was 12, and Dany (guitar and vocals) was 15 when they put their first video on youtube. They've come a long way in the eight years since then, and are currently writing for their 4th album. There's a lot of great music to hear from them, and they are best heard in their live performances. Check out Dust To Dust live at Lunario, to hear Pau singing a whole song.
They've been the opening act for a few bands across North America recently, and have opened a couple of huge shows in Mexico for The Foo Fighters and Guns N Roses, but this concert was their own headlining show in Mexico City, and was a very special moment for the band. All the songs they've released from this show are highly recommended, especially Animosity - my favourite.

From your accent, I think you are Eastern Eurpoean. Are you based there or based somewhere else. I am from England and saw them live in Texas last year, and I urge you to see them live if you get the chance. They are so good live as you have witnessed yourself. The girls have over 45+ songs as you have seen on Spotify, and each one will not disappoint whichever you choose. There are 3 more songs released from the same I hope you will react to them too on your channel. Choke, Animosity, and their version of Enter Sandman as requested by Metallica themselves, which is awesome too. Other songs such as Dust to Dust will see Pau the drummer take full lead vocals whilst drumming ( although an older song will impress you much ). Inna, now you done it. A lot of The Warning Army discovered this band by chance from their You Tube videos. Me personally when YT recommended a 2014 video of them playing Enter Sandman some 4 years ago. The lucky ones are the people who discovered them in 2014. Now a lifelong fan of The Warning, Patreon supporter and over the moon to finally have a band that brought the sound that I've been craving for over 35 years. Thank you, The Warning. Peace.

Yes, you heard correctly that Dany was speaking Spanish. The sisters are from Monterrey, Mexico, and this concert was in Mexico City (CDMX).
There are no bad The Warning songs!...the ladies are incapable. Any song you will enjoy, oddly enough, you will enjoy them completely differently. Each song emotes a different feel while keeping The Warning sound.

Unfortunately there aren't any live versions on spotify as of yet. But since they released more and more songs of this show on youtube I kinda have the hope they could turn it into a live album and also release it on spotify at some point. Fingers crossed! 😊

I discovered The Warning about 9 months ago and they very quickly became my 2nd favourite band (after Nightwish) 🤩❤ They've been growing rapidly in the last year or two, opening for big bands like Guns N Roses, Muse, Foo Fighters & Metallica (in Mexico). They played over 100 shows in North America last year and are coming to Europe for the first time this summer!
As well as being fantastic musicians, I think one of their greatest strengths as a band is that they can appeal to everyone, from tween girls to 30-year-old metalheads to 60-year-old classic rock fans...

Dany sings most of the leads, Pau sings almost all the leads that Dany doesn't, Ale can sing lead but doesn't like to. All sing backup to the others.

The Warning has fantastic songs written, arranged and performed so well that anyone would think that this band is made up of older musicians. The Villarreal sisters, DPA will be giving us for a long time, God willing, many pure rock jewels. Bravo The Warning!!!!
Yes in this song the drummer Paulina(Pau) sings some of the song, most of time the guitarist Daniela(Dany) sings lead, but on several of their songs Pau sings lead while drumming and the bassist Alejandra(Ale) sings backup.
FYI Pau is pronounced Pow and Ale is pronounced A-lay.
To remember their age the trick is for Dany as she was born in 2000, just use the year, so right now she is 23, Pau is 2 years behind so 21 and Ale is 3 years behind so 18.

The BOUNCE. There is a documentary highlighting Pau and how she BOUNCES while she plays...not hops.
Here is what I wrote about "that drummer girl" a week back specially in context with this song. Her name is Paulina "Pau" as you may already know by now. The chorus of this song hit her when she was in a Canadian supermarket in 2019. She wrote & composed the song including the intro bass line on her piano and then called her sisters. And Disciple a song about how social media is influencing us was born.

This is a song off their third album. My favorite song to date is "Crimson Queen" off of their 2nd Album, Queen of the Murder Scene" . I have not heard a bad song yet. These ladies can really perform.

Making long history short, they're pretty much one of the best bands you can come across today. Their music is fantastic, some of the many strengths they have, are their music composition and their lyric writing, which is second to none. I'm sure you'll like them much much more. Get to know them well, because they're heading to Europe between late May and June, to open for Muse in 4-5 shows, and will also be at Download Fest in UK, Rock Am Rim, Rock In Park in Germany, Loud Fest in Switzerland, and maybe more. Check the other HQ videos from this same show at Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City, 4 by now, but they'll be releasing the whole 22-23 songs they played there. Amazing show.
