    i just started it again after i played it a lot when it came out and i really like it for the atmosphere in the different areas. If you read the journals and desktop entries, and talk to all the people for background info (the blue conversation bubble some NPCs have) it really gives you a deeper understanding of the situation. You have to ask a couple of times before all Answers to a certain topic are given to you but often it is worth it.

      Yeah, the atmosphere in this game is top notch! I occasionally consider going back for some more questing (which so far I haven't done 🙁) and it's all because of the atmosphere. Exhausting the dialogue options just sounds like plain old RPG gameplay, I've done plenty of that in my time 😄

    There is nothing unnecessary regarding a deep dive into the meaning of this song. Its the album's namesake for God's sake. This isnt the first song from them that is heavily thought proviking nor will it be the last. There is a clear connection to Disciple which in turn have a strong connection to Kool Aid Kids with the solution being expressed in Z. As opposed to 23 snd Animosity. Those being very personal. These 3 are clearly social in nature . These sisters are much deeper thinkers than they let on. It doesn't just show in their songs. It shows in interviews and is what i believe what is behind Alejandra's declining to speak much. When she was very young she had no problem with speaking for the band. Then she goes silent for literally years. Now you see her speak up but she will not go deep on anything. Even music. Look at her mannerism and facial expressions when she plays. This is not a shallow uninterested woman. There is a video of her ripping an apple in half with her bare hands. Look at her face when she does it. She takes a hard spill on stage, i think an untied shoelace being the culprit. She doesnt stop playing. What is inside of Daniela manifests itself in her vocals. More so than her guitar playing. Unlike Paulina. Het drumming is clearly the expression you notice the most. Her voice although beautiful is not particular in any way. Compared to Daniela's signature growl. But Ale's mannerism is very telling. Look how she ends Survive. she will either throw her right arm up in victory or thrust her chest out when her bass line is done. With the chest thrust not being sexual in nature but a dominant posture. Her height making it very intense visually. She has this same chest forward posture when she strays from her mic and then has to run to it for her backing vocals. Shes very interesting to watch. I read a comment that the attention she gets from her beauty, which I admit is about as beautiful as it gets in this world, is the reason shes became less outgoing. Making her uncomfortable. Thats possiible but her sisters are just as hot and they dont seem to be bothered by it. Look at Dany without makeup on and Pau with her glasses on if you dont believe me. Dany can even pull off that adorable look which is something considering her facial features. Which, well clearly match her voice. Just think about this, all three of these sisters are full on undisputed 10's when it comes to physical beauty. They just are. But it takes you some time to notice that when they are playing on stage. Thats how good their music is. Anyway your analysis is spot on in my opinion. Good job brother.

      I'm not sure I see the connection between Error and Disciple, but the other songs in the 'chain' make sense 👌 I think generally speaking going with the simple explanation is the right approach. I think Ale doesn't speak much in public appearances because she doesn't need to, whereas the earlier vlogs were not, or at least did not feel like, public appearances. There's a chance I believe this because I do the same thing so it seems very obvious to me, but if someone else is going to answer the question, unless I think they'll do a bad job at it, why would I answer it? Meanwhile the vlogs were closer to having a chat with her sisters, so it's more natural to butt in here and there. But, again, personal experiences color that opinion so I might be off. Then, seeing as "Ale doesn't speak" became a thing, I suspect the band decided on a few questions that they get asked all the time that Ale would answer so the spread of who speaks in interviews would be more even. At least as far as I've noticed in recent interviews when they are asked how the band got started everyone knows Ale answers that. She's definitely a smart cookie, too, by my reckoning. It may be hard to spot because she doesn't waste energy talking unless the situation calls for it, but in one of the older videos the band was talking about pros and cons of being sisters and working together (which is a question they have since perfected answering, which is more efficient but less interesting) and Pau was looking for cons so she said something along the lines of "because we know each other so well we argue a lot" and Ale said "that's a good thing" since that way they move through things they need to work through more efficiently due to the lack of filter. Based on my observations in life (which are not very expansive, admittedly), that's a rare and valuable mindset to have, and she was around 14 at the time. That was a massive +respect points moment for me. I do wish we could get (really) long form 1 on 1 podcast-esque conversations with each band member (and Rudy) so we would get to see more of them that's not just the music stuff. It's one of those things that makes me wish I could do it myself so we would have it. As for presenting on stage I'll trust your analysis of Ale, because I'll admit I have not paid deep attention, so to me it looks like she has a collection of moves that she cycles through. As for Dany though, while I agree that her vocals and stage mannerisms are the bulk of her expression, because I'm learning the guitar I've dug through the tabs of some of the songs and I feel like there's a lot of her in the guitar as well, it just takes a deeper look to see. I love the things she does on the guitar especially in the context of the specific song (in saying that I should note that I'm not sure how unique some of those things are because I haven't looked into what other guitarists do all that much). I'm sure this is true for all musicians and their instruments, but I only understand a bit of guitar, so that's the only place I can spot cool stuff. And with that said and while on expression, to me it's not the drumming that stands out the most about Pau, but rather everything else she does from behind the drum kit. She will sing, dance, mime, hype, scream, even front for the band, all that while committing unbridled violence upon the drum kit. It gives off force of nature that can not be contained feel, and to me that's what stands out the most about her on stage. Lastly, since you spent a number of sentences on beauty I'll say I few words as well. I will make no objective statements since "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" and everyone can make up their own mind, but I will say that I'm quite happy they don't lead with their physical appearance the way some (most?) female musicians do. That would not enhance their art. On the contrary, it might distract from it. Let the performance do its thing instead 👌🤘⚡

      @bsdsuPASTA you know now that I think about it Disciple doesn't really connect to Error. I also don't play any instrument. I have no talent for it and never have. So I'm sure even someone who is just beginning with their instruments can spot what I never could. The music these ladies put out is freaking amazing though. I thought their new album Keep Me Fed was more of a pop album. But it seemed like their agenda was Let us show you how a pop album should be done and they succeeded. From what I've seen all their albums are considerably different from the others. So it's probably a case of that inconsistency being consistent. I have a hard time picking a favorite song of theirs. But I tend to fall back on Red Hands Never Fade, Automatic Sun, Survive, Free Falling, & Animosity getting rhe most play. Turns out to be one from each album. So they got that going on. I'll say this, Error is kind of a creepy song and it seems like it's a message from AI when I heat it. AI is good stuff no doubt. Buy I hope as humans we tread lightly regarding it. I'm sure we won't. But one can hope. I'm also glad they dont rely on their looks for fame and fortune. Because they easily could. I hope they're doing this in their later years Susanna Hoffs style.

    • @bsdsuPASTA

      @@jodylivengood4061 Having no talent just means you have to be more stubborn. Only lack of desire can stop you from learning an instrument (and anything else in life). One way I could describe The Warning's music is "all kinds of stuff, but rock", although some songs were later adapted to be non-rock ballads. That's how I feel about KMF as well, I wouldn't call it pop even if some songs have a pop vibe to them (pop, but rock). This quality of their music is probably what I like the most about it, that different songs feel different. With some other bands I hear 4-5 songs and then I want something different. With The Warning whatever song plays next will be something different 😄 I believe the point of Error was to elicit such feelings as you are having. That's much more effective with the correct point of view, which is something TW do quite a bit (and I love). They'll show you the point of view of "the other side" and let you see what that's like. I find it very effective (think Disciple, Money, Kool Aid Kids, Escapism, etc.). I'm not worried about AI, personally, but at the same time I'm glad there are people who are. It's better to have some of those, just in case 🤞

    I think that the line "plucking roses but keeping the thorns" is conected to the line "yet there is no rose without its thorn, prickled fingers are just part of the ways into the heart" from the song Crimson Queen.

    • @bsdsuPASTA
      @bsdsuPASTA Месяц назад

      They are connected in the sense that "rose" and "thorns" mean the same thing metaphorically, so "plucking roses but keeping the thorns" would be "getting rid of the good but keeping the bad" and "there is no rose without its thorns" would be "good stuff usually have downsides" then there's the example of prickled fingers being the natural downside of being in love. Unless I'm missing something?

  • @Skywolf370
    @Skywolf370 Месяц назад

    I think the line "my hands, your blood" may mean something else. And thats perhaps The Queen accusing her darkside of being responsible for the blood thats on her hands, in other words "i have blood on my hands because of what you've done" rather than making a threat.

    • @bsdsuPASTA
      @bsdsuPASTA Месяц назад

      That makes sense, yeah. I still prefer to see that as 'fighting words' which goes well thematically with the following line - "Won't let you win". That makes the song feel more like a battle for control over the body, but the Evil Side telling the Queen to cut herself after raises less questions with your interpretation so I can see the merit in both 👍

There's still the "remember me as I was before" line, which suggests the love interest and the girl from the story at least kind of knew each other, but it's possible that refers to a brief encounter at a diner. It's an adequate theory, I'd say! Also, yeah, RUclips replies confuse me sometimes as well 🤞

    so last time I commented I thought of something that I think is interesting. in the art booklet there is a picture that you commented on earlier where the band is in a diner looking at a reflection of the waitress who is looking at them. obviously this is the queen and it reminds me of stories where people later say of a murderer "oh I knew who that was, she worked at the diner". but then I thought, because of the overall sense of tension in this picture, what if the queen suspects that they know? could the queen be thinking that the band could become her next victims? 😬😁

      great point and I do believe that she is lying to herself if she has no regrets. for instance the fact that she has constant nightmares indicates this to me. so I will disagree with Dany on this, and as the band said, they themselves have their own versions of what happened but others may interpret it differently.

    • @bsdsuPASTA

      @@itsratso. It's worth noting that it's possible for someone to regret doing something but still believe it was the right thing to do. Us humans can exist in such contradictions 😄 In other words, if we separate "I don't regret" to an intellectual and an emotional statement, the Queen/Girl definitely feels deep emotional regret based on the text of a lot of the songs, not just The End, but intellectually she, presumably, does not regret her actions. That's how I understand Dany's words and what I went with in my interpretation to stick as close to what's written as possible.

    Dull knives cut “better”because they hurt more, & leave more scars (scarlet letters). Which is the intention of cutting(psychological behavior), pain & scarring. “…pain’s ripping up my skin(pain). Can’t take it back now.(scars)”

    • @bsdsuPASTA
      @bsdsuPASTA Месяц назад

      I wouldn't know about the levels of pain or the quality/quantity of scars so I'm willing to believe both, but as far as I'm aware there are 2 reasons for self-harm (excluding fringe situations, which this story probably qualifies as) - one is attention seeking, and the second is because pain demands attention in the absence of adrenaline, so it's essentially a shortcut to a messed up form of meditation for people who are very stressed/anxious/etc. (I do not endorse such behavior, of course, actual meditation + therapy are much more preferable). Neither of those really fit in that point of story but if you have more info on reasons why someone would want pain (aside from what I mentioned) and scars, I'd love to hear it. "Can't take it back now" referring to scars is something I missed, thank you for pointing it out! It fits neatly, I like it.

      @@oregonlt3 I view this line from s!ck metaphorically, but in a way it still fits with causing yourself 'pain' just to feel something that's not whatever you're currently feeling (such as depression, as you mentioned). In a way, the whole song s!ck can be seen as presenting that concept but without the actual self-harm. Looking for some chaos to break out of the oppressive and mundane order of daily life. Or, to borrow from Thoreau, seeking escape from a life of quiet desperation. It's been way-too-long since I've seen it, but as I recall the movie American Beauty explores that idea as well. Except while 's!ck' can be done right (and also wrong), self-harm is like snorting cocaine to cure depression - it doesn't work.

    My personal diagnosis, using my PhD from the university of the internet😊, is Schizophrenia. While often co-mingled with dissociative identity disorder in fiction, multiple personalities do not interact with each other the way they do here. I differentiate them into “the girl” generally voiced by Pau, and “the queen” (& the reaper) generally voiced by Dany. Hence the Pau whisper track throughout ‘Dull Knives’. The words are the girls (Pau) but ‘The Queen’ is subsuming her at this point hence Dany is the main voice. Now that Pt 4 is out I look forward to your interpretation of the reaper in ‘Hunter’.

    • @bsdsuPASTA
      @bsdsuPASTA Месяц назад

      Hey, we graduated the same university! 🙂 As far as I know Schizophrenia can be responsible for a lot of the behaviors present in the album, but D.I.D. still gets my vote as the most likely main culprit due to the distinct personalities. Communication between the different personalities being impossible would make me reconsider, but upon quick check with ChatGPT, apparently DID personalities can interact with each other internally, as in hearing each other's voices and having internal conversations (among other things). I know LLMs are known to hallucinate occasionally but the sources it cited (traumadissociation.com and did-research.org) seem legit on a quick glance. A lot of the info I saw on the first website specifically makes me lean even more heavily towards DID. If you have information to the contrary, however, I would love to hear it. Also, I personally don't like the Pau sings character A and Dany sings character B, mostly because Dany sings Crimson Queen, which should be the main personality, but she also sings in The Sacrifice and she is the evil one in Sinister Smiles. If anything, Pau is the one who shows up later on, but then she's also the one who ends the whole thing in The End and the one in the afterlife of Dust to Dust? I haven't been able to make coherent sense of the separation, so I just jot it down to musical preferences (such as we can't have the drummer sing most of the album and we need different people for the different characters in this one song, etc.). The reaper in 'Hunter' is an interesting situation indeed! 🤞

    • @oregonlt3
      @oregonlt3 Месяц назад

      @ yes, ‘Crimson Queen’ would appear to be the outlier & took me a while to reconcile (force into my square hole😂). But the infatuation is a manifestation of the illness hence falls under the Dany side. Delusion, false fixed belief unchanging in the light of conflicting evidence. Auditory verbal hallucinations attributed to an external source, rather than internal, are considered the defining factor for the diagnosis of schizophrenia. It’s generally believed that the Queen/evil side are an internal source (voice in the head are ALL internal, it’s the perception that matters) but it’s never clearly expressed how the girl hears them. Now the Reaper clearly seems to be an external hallucination hence not DID. Also the Queen/evil side is clearly destructive & emotive lending to the AVH diagnosis. As opposed to DID personalities, while being complete & unique identities, are most often benign. Eventually we will get Psychology of Rocks “official” diagnosis as she’s said she’s working on a QotMS analysis 🧐 😊

    • @bsdsuPASTA
      @bsdsuPASTA Месяц назад

      @@oregonlt3 Why would the infatuation be a delusion? Being in love is not a mental illness, even if it manifests as such 😄Unless I misunderstood what you mean? As for external hallucinations, wouldn't assuming that the Reaper is an extra personality in the girl's mind mean that it's not an external AVH? Especially considering that the Reaper kills the Queen, so if it's all in her head then she does it, which kind of sounds to me like it's a personality rather than an external force (as per her perception) which doesn't actually exist. Furthermore, I found some website that goes over DID myths and I also checked specific questions with ChatGPT (such as is it possible for a personality to form later in life and is it possible for one personality to prevent another from taking over the body) and from what I found the story in the album is not a common DID experience but it's technically possible. I don't know much about Schizophrenia and how well it fits (or doesn't) in this story. I'd love to see someone with actual relevant background tackle the topic, so I'm looking forward to that "official diagnosis" 😄

The haunting wails at the end of Dust to Dust is the Queen's lament that she knows she has to live it all over again? The lyrics start out neatly written and clean and precise, but “starts to get messier as her mind gets messier” (quote from Pau in her Pau Day May 30th 2020 Vinyl Collection video). These ladies use "facade", "bemuse", and "debase", which are not exactly in common usage, so I doubt they would let these errors pass if they were, indeed, errors.

    I think in Sinister Smiles, what is actually happening is the evil side daring the queen to cut herself, knowing she wont. It's a "you want to end this but I know you wont, so just pick up the knife and kill them". I think you can fit both the Queen murdering someone and the Queen threatening to kill herself in the same interpretation. On one hand, the queen wants to stop it, but can't go through with it so she follows the evil side's instruction to just finish the kill. I also highly agree with the other commenter that there are a LOT of murders in this album, with particularly Queen of the Murder Scene having the majority of them. "IM A MACHINE NO EMOTION" to me is probably what the evil side is saying to themselves as she kills more and more. As a note, DID (dissociative identity disorder) is 100% the correct interpretation of what is happening with the Queen. It is NOT psychosis. Often, alter egos are made when something traumatic happens, and for the Queen that is when the love interest dies. She creates Evil to rid her of the burden, and the two constantly fight for control over their body. Sometimes Queen has control and sometimes Evil has control, which is a common understanding of how DID works. Since in this story, it seems the Queen only has two alters, it is likely her brain is able to keep both fully conscious, when people with multiple alters will often have alters 'wake up' and 'sleep' in accordance to what the brain needs. The Queen and Evil are both fully aware at all times, at least is my interpretation

    • @bsdsuPASTA
      @bsdsuPASTA Месяц назад

      The way I go about my interpretations is I try to keep them thematically consistent to their respective songs and I consider the chronology of the story (within and across the songs). So for example, while your interpretation of Sinister Smiles is entirely possible, I choose to not interpret the Evil Side as daring the Queen because she only says "grab the dagger, cut through skin and stain the water" after the Queen has already given up. That and the events in Dull Knives as I interpret them are why I choose to view those lines as instructions. The Queen has already given up and I know she will cut herself in the next song, so I interpret those lines as the midway point between those two things - the giving up and the self harm. Furthermore, there's no mention of harming others in Sinister Smiles or in Dull Knives (unless you interpret it differently), so I choose to interpret the events as no murders until Queen of the Murder Scene. Speaking of which, I am 100% latching on to that scream in the song on the last "I'm a machine no emotion" as the second overall murder and the first murder since the Evil Side took control, purely because of that scream in the song. A thematic choice more so than anything else. I also highly agree that there are a LOT of murders in this album, but to me there's 1 in Stalker, 1 in QotMS, many in P.S.Y.C.H.O.T.I.C. and 1-ish in Hunter and The End (depending on what you count as murder). Thank you for mentioning DID! I briefly considered going into it in these videos, but ultimately decided not to because I worried I'd get too deep in the weeds of it at the expense of keeping the focus on the story, and there's no need to explain it when it is shown so well in the story itself. Although now that I think of it that might be a reason to at least mention it 🤔 I've only briefly looked into the whole concept and it was a while ago so I don't remember the specific details, but isn't dissociation often tied to psychosis? The way I thought it works in the story is, the Queen has some underlying condition, then the first murder triggers the DID, and when the alter ago takes over the Queen starts getting psychotic episodes, so her condition keeps getting worse the further into the story we go. Or is that not how this works?

    I have a couple of thoughts on Dull Knives. First, I’m one of the ones who sees he story repeating in her head over and over (I know Pau said she didn’t mean it that way, but it sounds hat way to me). The line “I found out dull knives cut better” is in past tense, implying that she has done this before, and dull knives are more painful and do more damage (the other option is that she used a dull knife for the murder, but there is no mention of her doing that). This is when it briefly occurs to her that she has been through this before. The scarlet letters could refer to the shapes that the drops of blood make after they hit the water. The queen is also telling the evil side to choke on them as a last sign of independence and control. Plucking roses could represent what she sees when the blood starts pouring out of her arm and it spreads out as it hits the water resembling a blooming rose. She’s plucking that rose by spilling her blood, and what she has left is the cut on her arm resembling a stem, with the tears in her skin that stick out along side the cut that are there because she used a dull knife resemble thorns. In the next song, the evil side is trying to save herself, desperately trying to take control back and hopefully be able to save the body but realizes that “you can’t always kill what’s immortal but it doesn’t apply to me” as she sees the blood comes out from the queen’s body. She thought she had a lot of power and would never die, but is now aware that that isn't true. The rest of the album occurs in her head as she is dying.

      That's an interesting interpretation, thank you for sharing! You say that there is no mention of the Queen using a dull knife for the murder, but there is no mention of the murder itself either 😄We only really know it happened because Pau said so. With a little bit of creative thought pretty much any interpretation can make sense, and especially if we ignore or choose to interpret some lines very generously. For example, before I found out about the booklet I thought one of the bits in Sinister Smiles where Dany and Pau sing together was said by the wrong character (the colors in the booklet suggested I had it wrong) so I had to reconsider the whole 2nd half of the album. Technically speaking that interpretation is still possible if I choose to ignore the colors and interpret a few lines generously. That said, for your interpretation we would have to be generous with our understanding of what the Queen means when she says "Do what they say or else there will be hell to" in Sinister Smiles, since that suggests that she's caving in rather than resisting, and also the actual line in Queen of the Murder Scene (the song) is "You can always kill what's immortal but it just doesn't apply to me", rather than "can't", so we'd have to come up with something about that as well. It makes for a cool and unique version of the story though 👌

Either that or she didn't believe the Queen would do it at all (not at that point anyway). Is there anything in the text/art/styling/music that makes you think the Evil Side wanted the suicide? @bsdsuPASTA my (IMO, blah blah blah) take on it is that I think people take the story too literally. there isn't multiple characters here, there is one. a very scared, confused, panicking girl with mental illness. the evil side is her, the grim reaper is her, the rational side is her. the voices she hears are her psychosis, which further scares and confuses her. she is at times defiant, at times remorseful, at times despondent and suicidal. eventually her dark thoughts drag her down and that's it for her. btw when the voices tell her to spill blood and stain the water it might not be hers. I think it's insinuated that she might have had more than one victim I think.

That's why I would say even if the monolith of The Queen would want to commit suicide, the fragment that is the Evil Side probably doesn't. It's all up to personal interpretation, of course. Spill the blood and stain the water could be referring to someone else's blood, but I went with the self harm interpretation because the next song is all about self harm, so it makes sense. Also staining the water in my mind refers to bathtub cutting, but there's nothing specifically indicating that, so it could be anything.

On an unrelated note, what do you write? I'm a casual writing enjoyer myself 🙂

    This was an amazing concert and the Bluray is stunning. Here was a COVID venue show (50% attendance, social distancing, no yelling, screaming or singing allowed and only clapping permitted), yet the band brought the house down. Miyako/dark hair was 4/5 months pregnant here and still managed to play the guitar, piano, keyboard and keytar during the entire show. This band is special especially when it comes to LIVE performances.

      Pregnancy is no impediment to shredding and COVID is no impediment to good heavy metal performance, apparently 😄

    Great analysis of a great thrash song ! Check out something slightly different from this band that truly underscores their talents - "Swan Song with Chopin intro" LIVE : ruclips.net/video/WBhtqgiXEA4/видео.html (use this link since there're a few LIVE versions on YT that does not have the Chopin piano intro)

      Thank you, I'm glad you liked the analysis! And thank you for the suggestion + the link! Someone else also mentioned Swan Song and specified I should check out the version with the Chopin intro. It's good to have a link to it to make sure I don't do the wrong version 👌

    As you have already done the inevetible "Soldier Stands Solitarily" and also some of the other stuff, it may be time for "Edge Of The World" (live 2023, released 2024 as the latest live video) as the first "E" song (explanation later) or if you admire piano play, maybe "Swan Song (with Chopin intro)" (2020). The part "with Chopin intro" is essential, believe me (there's even a good but worse version from 2023 available)...

      I have added "Edge Of The World" and "Swan Song (with Chopin intro)" as per your specifications to my list, thank you for the suggestions and the extra info 👍 I do quite enjoy pianos in metal/rock songs. If other songs don't get suggested a lot, maybe I'll go ahead and check Swan Song next 🤔
