Being following you like everywhere from social media to RUclips. I came from the 4k pocket then to the 6k OG, finally ordered the Pyxis. Will be so happy to record my first image with it and my son who will be 9 months when it arrived. Merci 😊
omg that little teddy bear camera he has! dude so cute, when I have my kids, I want one of those for them. that's awesome you get to share you passion with him.
It looks great! But it's easy to forget that it's the person behind the camera, not the camera. This guy could make anything look good, I'm sure. Reminding myself of this because I just stumbled upon someone else unboxing a Pyxis who's footage looked like your uncles 1990s home wedding video. Filmed at 60fps, playing back at 24, everything front lit, sky completely blown out etc etc... lol
Wow your videos are soooo good. Every single one of them. Your footage compared to others using the same camera is unmatched. Please give us another documentary soon. Beautiful family also. I know you are a great dad! Much love from Tennessee, USA!
Great work. I don't understand why some folks are hating on this camera. For the price it's basically a win. I'm gonna pick it up for narrative work. Look forward to seeing more.
This is a beautiful video. It really makes me feel gratitude for my family, and a sense of connectedness knowing that you obviously feel this way too. Some things truly are universal. Love your music and editing choices. You’re very talented and I am deeply inspired by your work, my friend.
Dude it look like it was shot on an Arri for the fraction of the price👏👏. And the fact years can pass by and your son can see himself as a toddler in 4K👏👍👌.
@@OfTwoLands Thank you for sharing what this camera is capable of. I have the old 4k camera and will soon be using it for recording of games. I got it years ago and really never did much with it. Now I’m using a “cheap” Sony vlog camera to take pictures of stuff like my family’s dog and soon architecture that I think is cool. Right now I’m just using a proFX6 phantom powered set up with a Sennheiser MK 4. Only have one video on this channel that is related to gaming. Dont worry not going to ask you to check it out. Definitely do more with this camera. Have you thought of a script or monologue about something to use 1 or two people to shoot more with this camera? I’m thinking of taking my 4k camera down to Washington DC at the memorials on the past wars. Have a monologue from my dad to voice since he’s a former Marine.
Bloody hell When I'm just on the fence on getting a second hand ZCam E2 F6 with BM Video Assist, you upload this absolutely beautiful cinematic footage. I loved my old BMPCC Camera, but due to a number of reasons and issues with it, I stepped away. However, I always keeping peeking and glancing towards Blackmagic, and the Pyxis definitely got me yearning for it. Guess I have to think really hard again, and perhaps save up a little more. 🤔😅 Thank you for making me think again. 😂
Looking good man 🙌 Been shooting non stop on location with the PYXIS since Sunday and loving it so far, can’t wait to get back and start looking at the footage 😅
Great shots Flo, love the stuff. This camera looks like it’s worth a try. I assume you got the EF mount version since your lenses are probably all from the BMPCC6K. Compared to the BMPCC6K Full Frame you recently acquired would you say there is much of a noticeable difference? Is the appeal here more of a form factor thing or is usability that much nicer? I definitely like the way the Pyxis looks kitted out online.
That's beautiful footage as always. Enjoy every second of your son at that age as it is only moment of time that will fall out of your hands like water. It's great to have a 6K record of his childhood. I see less wobble/rolling shutter on the Pyxis than the BMCC 6K on the hand-held shots. Is that my imagination or is the does the Pyxis have less rolling shutter?
@@OfTwoLands Very impressive, I thought you ar least used the gyro stabilization in DaVinci or something. For me, cinematic "stabilization" is the hardest part to achieve in my filmmaking - even though I have a LUMIX S5IIX, which many claim to be amazing at that.
The footage is very very good quality. When you have had it a while longer, it would be great to hear from you about how it compares to your previous cameras in terms of handling, workflow etc.
Nice! I love the COLOR of the shots too. Nicely done! I'm planning on getting the Pyxis when it comes out. The camera also seems pretty steady for being a smaller camera. Did you stabilize it at all in post? Does the camera feel light, but heavy enough to get a good stable shot when shooting handheld?
@@OfTwoLands Awesome! I currently use the Blackmagic Ursa Mini Pro 4.6k G2. I'm hoping the Pyxis will be a little lighter but still heavy enough to get those steady shots.
I really hope metabones comes out with some L mount Electronic ND adapters! This camera would be sweet with an ND. What ND solution are you using here? Great footage!
Beautiful! As a father myself my biggest question is, do you think this camera will "get in the way"/prevent you from being in the moment. Sometimes I already have trouble grabbing my BMPCC 6k Pro due to its size, but really want a body with open gate. Considering this or the bmcc 6k full frame
Thank you!! I have always filmed my everyday life and adventures since I was a kid and even today I love having moments captured like these. I don't think it gets in a way and I am always super quick and never prioritise the camera. He also enjoys looking at it and learning :).
Lumix S9, the ultimate dad cam. Full frame sensor, nearly identical size to the Sony FX3 but 50% thinner, 6K open gate 3:2, 4:2:0 V-LOG. Unbeatable combo complete with anamorphic desqueeze, anamorphic stabilization, and LUT previews in-camera if that’s your thing
Question for you Flo, obviously the PYXIS 6k is a game changer - but why would you choose the Blackmagic system over the Sony system where you have Autofocus, 2 full xlrs, auto e-nd, and an easy to work with codec to hand over to clients. I'm about to pull the trigger on the fx6 but after watch this you make think I should just put my order in for the Pyxis instead.

Especially since the sensor from what I've read is the basically the same. I think it comes down to showcasing improvements in overall handling of the camera and the importance that has on just workflow, and managing, etc. thank you!
Thank you!! I’ve talked about it more in depth in my review and comparison videos but I prefer the 6K FF image. I love the one from the 6K Pro a lot too and my favourite projects have been done with it but there’s something special about the 6KFF sensor :).
