When you see spaces in the videos red timeline, that means the times are in description box as well ❤
We all gonna neglect point out that her moisturized hair is snapping in this video😩😍‼️
I noticed...Tonya, your hair does look beautiful 😍
Beautiful ❤️
I see it girl it’s on point
Your hair is going past shoulder length..thank you for your video
All-around gorgeous!❤
This is literally what's been on my mind: thinking about all that I need to do to baby my hair this winter because I am NOT trying to lose any after a year of successfully nurturing it back to health from the bad breaking off last fall! This has included deep conditioning my hair every single wash. I was already doing that with a moisturizing deep conditioner but I was not doing protein. My high porosity hair thrives with hot oil before every wash, and a moisturizing mask, then a protein treatment. My now High porosity/medium to high porosity hair is consistently soft, strong, and retaining length. But I'm definitely going to try switching to a heavier sealant oil. You are SO right on time with this video. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing! Great advice!!
As a man with curly hair I appreciate this channel very much. Men don’t know anything about hair care and I’m the only one in my group that has curly hair so any tips for healthy hair growth is highly appreciated
God is merciful. He always forgives. Never be ashamed to take your failures to Him. He is for you not against you. 🙏
1. I always pray for hair growth because He said our hair is our Glory.
2. Prayer is essential because what works in my hair may break your hair.
3. I use prenatal vitamins from health food store.
4. Warm to cool water. Never hot!! Have grown my hair 3 times to my hipbone.
5. Grandma said never let people touch your hair. I keep mine covered outside the house because when you grow it really long, people automatically want to touch it. Not always bad intentions but still Grandma said😊.
Any tips for post-menopausal hair? I was completely set in my natural hair routine for 20 years then, poof! Periods stopped and old hair routine wasn't enough. My 2-3 day moisture cycle became every 12 hours. My already fine hair seemed to get finer and lower porosity. I can't seem to get any moisture in unless it's sopping wet and I apply solid oil , THEN leave in and another sealant (typically avocado or olive oil.) Plus, I have these weird hairs that go from black to white to black again. Any tips on evening that out without semipermanent color? Love the channel!!!!
Pumpkin seed oil works. Maca root too, but talk to your doctor about supplements
Have you heard of a sister who goes by Menopause Barbie? I think her real name is Dr. Taylor. She has a channel on hear called Menopause University. I'd recommend watching some of her videos. They cover a lot, most important for me, bone health. But ultimately I decided to go on HRT. I did it for my bones, but all the hair problems you report, which I also had accepted, disappeared within a few months.
Seeing a couple recommendations for hormone replacement therapy: That's my absolute last option! These are minor annoyances that don't outweigh the potential negative side effects of HRT like heart disease and stroke. If that's the only way to fix my hair, I'm okay with being a bald centenarian. Just wondering if a sage tea wash or some new oil is recommended for old people hair. Thanks for the suggestions!!
@@claressalucas8922 it seems the increased risk of heart problems is only if there is already a heart problem before starting HRT. For me it was to prevent osteoporosis, which runs in my family 100% after menopause. Everyone definitely has to look at their own biology and risks! I was fortunate that it worked for me and bonus has been my hair coming back in density, thickness, and strength. Good luck!
Happy Friday love 😍
Hello Shemaine, for the heat and the water, I use The hair therapy wrap 2) my favorite mask is Algae Renew from Camille Rose(the best Mask to deep condition) , i use also once a month a french mask for the proteins. This proteined mask is absolutely great, the name is Masque Soin Sublimateur from Noire o naturel. 3) My hair vitamin is Kéraphane (from France). My hair is stronger now.
Great tips, thank you!
The best channel for natural hair. Thanks a lot Shemaine ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh and by the way love your channel I'm being educated so much and I really thank you for all that you're contributing to us as we go on our hair care journeys.
I would love to see a video about how you style your hair!! It always looks so nice.
My favorite hair mask is a DIY one I made a while ago. It has fresh aloe vera, avocado, honey, (and maybe Olive oil?). This hair mask was the first thing that got my hair to curl. I never bothered with another mask.
Thank you for sharing! I love how it happens to match the natural mask ingredients she casually lists in this video! Going to try it once I run out of store-bought DC, which is so expensive!!
I love diy banana aloe vera mask. I love the slip and the way it leaves my hair feeling so soft and detangled
You are literally the best! Love your videos 💕 The proud natural hair moment you get watching this and realizing you're already doing these things because you're high porosity lol! Any more tips for us high porosity gals?
This video came at a perfect time. I've had to oil up some more and we live in Los Angeles. It's dry here and want to make sure I'm moisturizing. Thank you sis, for getting us winter ready!
I love my q redew steamer and it's on sale! The deep conditioning mask is a winner as well.
Great tips/hacks. Thank you❣️🥰😊🥰
Thanks Tonya.❤️
Thank you for all the informative info I love listening to you getting all the hair knowledge thank you you are a blessing to us and you are not selfish you are spreading the knowledge I love it🙏🏼😇🤲👍👌
Thank you so much, it’s truly my pleasure. So glad I can help! 💜💜
I have been wearing a fabric shower cap to let my hair conditioner or Scalp oil really soak in and help retain moisture in the shower! That helps a lot
Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you for this! I’m definitely going to try to poke holes in my cap for shower hair steaming. Why didn’t I think of this sooner! 😂 Can you give straight natural hair tips in a future video? ❤️
Hey Curly Girly! 👋🏾 Funny, I’d just started my pre-poo when your notification hit! 🥰♥️
Yay! I'm about to start mine as well. 🙂
Great video! Love your hairstyle so much in this video! How did you achieve this look? Tutorial please!!
I love steaming my hair! Currently doing it right now with the Miche pumpkin deep conditioner (first time using it but so far so good). I had a Huetiful steamer for years but it broke. My current steamer is from Amazon and it works well just wish it was bigger.
Same thing happened to me
Sheena Davoul miche is my favoriteeeee products. I tried the pumpkin spice I love it. Waiting for the Black Friday sale to stock up.
Thank you! ♥️♥️♥️
You’re welcome! 💜💜
I use okra and avocado, the steamer I use is boiling water over the stove and hold my hair in the steam until I buy a steamer, I also use
Great vid! I take a prenatal every other day alternating with a regular woman's vitamin. Once I feel like I don't need it any more I'll just keep up with the regular woman's vitamin. My nails are really happy about it!
Great tip about going from a liquid to a cream! I've been doing that lately and it's been a game changer for me.
Right now I am truly enjoying the new deep conditioner from Melanin
Thanks a lot for giving tips that's good for relaxed has as well. Because it's all hair that needs to be taken care of whether it has a chemical on it or not.
I use my facial steamer for my hair which works really well also love blending avocado DIY into the Shea deep conditioner to make a hair mask. Also make sure to get regular trims in the winter ❤
Yes!!!!
I got this from a hairstylist. Just bought bought a face steamer yesterday, washed and used a mask. My hair looks amazing, definitely more moisturised.
Thank you for your time. Really appreciate the content of your videos.
I use avocado and banana mask. Sit under my hair dryer. I definitely will invest in a steamer . Thanks
My favorite deep conditioner is Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Masque.
Love my hooded streamer from Amazon
I have the Kingsteam hair steamer that I purchased from Amazon, and that works well. The shea moisture honey and yogurt mask is my all time Favorite mask, my curls always feel moisturized and are more springy after doing this mask.
I tried out the Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Yoghurt Mask as protein treatment for the first time in October 2022. I use it every 2 weeks, I’m HiPo. I used it yesterday and can attest to it making the hair super moisturized and yes, springy! It smells heavenly too. Totally love it!
Hi! Could you do a video on correcting heat damage back to healthy hair? I love your videos!!
I love my tgin duo deep conditioning system. I also use fenegreek in my jojoba and vitamin e oil. I will take in consideration your idea of using hair grease as a sealant. Thanks for your work and your input. Also my daughter and I used a steamer before for a while and we purchased it from Amazon. Sorry I forgot the name of it but worked well for us.
I really like the Shea Moisture Raw Shea butter deep moisturizing masque and the Sheas Moisture intensive hydration hair masque. I have use these two before and my hair really likes it. I also like Alikay Naturals Avocado Cream Moisture Repairing mask. It makes my hair so soft. And I also use oil rinses with avocado oil last winter. My supplement that I take is nature's bounty hair, skin, and nails. Thank you for all of your amazing videos. Love and Light.
I use the qredew steamer and the TGIN Honey miracle hair mask.
Thanks for another great video.
I would love to buy one but I live in Switzerland and the taxes would be so high...🥺
Hey. Tonya. Hope you are doing great. I started using Honey products for mask, never used an steamer, and natural bounty women vitamins. I appreciate your advice keep it up.
I have the red pro hair steamer I purchased from Amazon and I love it.
I’ve been watching you for a while and I love your videos but I never seen you do a video on natural hair with people with dreadlocks no disrespect we are a big part of natural hair too so what do you recommend for us to take care of hair doing the winter months or do a video or people with locks because people with loose natural hair get all the videos all the love just my opinion
@curlychemistry....one that's really goid to add in the deep conditioner is coconut milk powder. I add it in my hair masque and Holy Grill!!!!! It really helps. And banana too...helps soften the hair. Happy journey beauties 👸🏾🌻
Great information always💕. I currently do not have a steamer for my hair I always use the steam from the shower. My favorite hair mask is the avocado, honey, African black castor oil and the vitamin that I take daily is in a vegan Biotin gummy form is by Tabitha Brown called Donna’s Recipe and they are amazing in combination with the strength hair oil. Thank You for sharing🥰.
I bought my steamer from Amazon & it is amazing it also came with an attachment to steam your face. My favorite deep conditioner is the miche deep conditioner. Haven’t tried a hair vitamin yet but I plan to. Thx T
I don’t have a steamer, but my new favorite hair mask is the TGIN Hair Mask miracle repair. It’s amazing! I use a cocktail of different vitamin and minerals.
Yes the steam cap
Can you do a video for swimmers? I’m trying to do a few laps once a week but idk the best way to help my hair 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I love Soultanicals Afrotastic Curl Elastic deep conditioner as well as the Fenugreek glide and go. Any limited edition Miche dc is amazing but the Pumpkin ayurvedic one is best. I use my Afrosteam cap every wash day and sometimes my Q redew.
Great information...can I alternate the steam treatment with the green house method?
Good Morning!
I love ❤️ your videos. There so informative. If I have high porosity 4c hair should I use a hair steamer? My hair is constantly dry.
Yay. Good tips. I’m a steam shower girl. (Love the holes in a shower cap idea. Thx😊) Olly ultra hair vitamins for now. And cholesterol conditioner with what ever deep conditioner I still have. Yes I do a conditioner first. Than cholesterol treatment. Then the deep conditioner. Every time I wash 🧼 exfoliate my scalp and clarify my hair. Tea rinse then oil rinse. {{{I 🗣️Hoping not to forget to prepoo then pre shampoo. AND have my cap with holes in it next wash day }}} 👀
My favorite hair mask is the Shea Moisture Mask. It makes my hair very soft. I am relaxer free and I need advice to getting my hair back long and healthy.
Who still has their Heutiful hair steam??🙋🏽♀️…it’s perfect because it has a hood for deep treatments and another attachment that’s for steam facials but I have since started using it to help while detangling and while pre-pooing. My favorite DC is TGIN deep treatment mask and I’m currently taking the natures bounty advanced 5000 mcg softgels. My hair is growing so I guess it’s working lol.
I have a face steamer that I use to dC my hair, I am loving Mielle pomegranate deep conditioner moisturizing & protein treatment in one. And while I don’t take hair vitamins I am planning to now. Thanks for the tips.
The current hair vitamin I'm using is Hairfluence by Zhou. I like to use it and add saw palmetto or pumpkin seed oil as a dht blocker to it. I would like to try other vitamins but so far these have been working for me.
My favorite hair Care vitamin is Donna's Recipe by Tabitha Brown. And my favorite hair masks are She Moisture Intense Hydration Manuka Honey, and TGIN DEEP CONDITIONER.
Yes to steaming- Zeny From Amazon sku A9-1123A it does facials & hair. It's collapsible. For me the hood could bigger, but the facial attachment can treat your strands. DIY masks are my chosen option 100%. I include honey always with ayurvedic herbs bonu if my wash day permits a either a tbsp of charcoal or any clay. Vitamins that has improved my hair since covid lock down liquid biotin, MSM, consumption of any 1 or a combo (pumpkin oil /flaxseed oil/black seed oil/ b complex liquid/ Irish moss) & drinking water daily. Switching up what I consume daily doesn't allow restrictions on what nutrients my body receives. Thanks again Curly Chemistry great content.
Well hello Tonya. Love the hair. So, here are my answers to the questions that you asked at the end of video:
#1. Hair steamer: I have the Kingsteam hair steamer. I purchased it from Amazon. I also use the Afro steam cap that I purchased from their website. I use that one every wash day.
#2. Deep conditioners: when it comes to deep conditioning, it depends. If I’m going to get a protective style, I’ll use the ors mayonnaise, the ors max moisture deep treatment conditioner and my oil concoction all mixed together. If I’m not doing a protective style, I’ll use the That’s Intense deep conditioner from lil little.
#3. Hair vitamins: right now, I’m using mielle healthy hair adult vitamins with biotin. It seems to be working for my hair and skin so far along with drinking lots of water.
I love the briogeo avocado moisture mask (green collection) and curls blissful lengths liquid hair vitamins are the pricey truth😅
Hot oil sisters before a deep conditioner is also great. I take a separare vit D suppliment aswell as wellwoman muti vit and an omega oil daily all year round. Do the most layer up the hair ammo and win!
The 2 best treatments are Mizani clay steam mask and Mielle babbassu and mint DC. Makes my hair so soft.
My favorite deep conditioner/hair mask is: Avocado Infusion Restorative Conditioner by Kinky Tresses
Sometimes I use Suave Avocado and Olive oil smoothing conditioner as my Deep conditioner. I add my oil mix to my hair first.
Hi! Do you have any tips for naturals dealing with postpartum hair loss?
Thank you!
I change deep conditioners quite frequently among half a dozen I use. I find that balances out my hair needs. My go to is 4C Only with some fenugreek powder added (thinned with a little filtered water). I also like K18 monthly to boost elasticity. Sometimes one with hydrolyzed keratin. I use a heat cap instead of steaming usually. Rarely steam. But you're inspiring me to steam again next wash. I use a facial steamer.
My main thing is using a revair on low suction to stretch. That's been most gentle to my hair. I get no tangles if I keep it stretched and moisturized. You're also inspiring me to consider adding a bit more castor and avocado to my oil mixture, which is currently heavier on jojoba, olive and sweet almond oils. Thanks, sis!
... I wonder though, for the scalp, do you recommend only allowing our natural oils/sebum on our scalps or applying a moisturizing or sealing oil after washing?
I love using steam in the winter. I use table top facial steamer OR the steam in the shower. ❤
I DC weekly. 😊
I just started taking women’s daily vitamin that has B12 and biotin it’s a gummy for beauty. 😊
Feeling like I’m winning!! 🎉
The Red Pro steamer is a good one. I have had mine for yeaaarrsss. It’s easy to set up, easy to clean, and easy to put away. It also comes with a facial steamer.
I use the hair vitamin gummies from nature’s bounty. I take this one because I don’t get headaches from it. I’ve taken other hair vitamins with biotin and have ended up with migraines in the past.
I don’t own a steamer never done a treatment. I love Shea moisture the same one you showed and garnier fructis has one too that I really like. Anddddd I drink a collagen and a biotin supplement ❤
Hi Tonya! Quick question, you recommended use of Kuza’s Jamaican Black Castor Oil Moisturizer as a moisturizer BUT glycerin is the third ingredient. Since winter has arrived in GA with lower dew points, what other moisturizer would you suggest?
My go to vitamin is the Nature's Bounty Hair Skin Nail capsules (NOT THE GUMMIES) But I want to try Nutraful.
Recommended hand steamer: Q-redew steamer! Also recommended are their conditions.
I love Amika hair mask. Zhou hairfluence vitamin supplement.
Heeey 😍. I've not finished to watch the video, but the steam treatment made me think on prepooing the hair with humectants such as aloevera juice, gombo, lino, oat cream... I prepoo either with oils or with slippery products to detangle my hair and to have a moisture increase. Especially when my hair feels dry.
I don't know if that make sense ☺️
I hear great things about Adowa Baomint Deep Conditioning Treatment as well as Blue Tansy Reparative Hair Mask.
Hey there! Thank you sooo much for this video and your channel; it has helped me so much with my natural hair journey. I do have a question, can you recommend another hair moisturizer that does not have coconut oil in it? I'm allergic. I've been using more liquid base moisturizers and with it being Fall/Winter, I need something heavier.
I’m always luvin your videos 🥰💙.. I have so many DC that I luv but here are a couple: CR Algee Renew; Natures Little Secret Mixed Fruit & Melanin Hair Deep Conditioner.. I picked up my steamer last year from Amazon nothing fancy but it works for me .. KingSteam (which it states it’s a facial steamer but I also use it for my hair 😉)
Thank you for sharing!! I’m going to check it out! ☺️
I also have the King Steamer. I absolutely love it for getting the. Moisture back in.
Hey sis! Do you have a video on what Afro hair is made up as in chemical makeup or properties etc?
I used a coconut hair mask I love it....I use one also with a mint which I also love...can't remember brand name at this point😁😁😁
The hair steamer I have is the one recommended from Naptural 85’s YT video
HI!!!! Grape seed, avocado I use a/ I have a steamer you can get one at Amazon don't know the name of the one I got but it's really good it's put up I got to bring it out soon can't say I love it but I use emerge deep conditioner only once though sometimes I just go with a hot oil treatment my leav in I ain't going to never leave it my as I am leave in conditioner..
You are the third person who shared about steamers from Amazon, I definitely have to check this out. Thank you!
@@CurlyChemistry you're very welcome I hope you find one that suits you with all the help you give us all trust WE THANK 😊 YOU!!!
Thank you so much for this information, Sis! I just purchased an Afro Steam Cap from the company Afro Steam Caps. I’m praying it will be worthwhile. 🙏🏾♥️
I ordered from them over a month ago and I'm still waiting to get my steam cap. I hope you have a better experience!
I bought one recently.
@@adriennen6433 Omg!! I’m sorry to hear that. 💜
@@taw2tad Do you like yours? 🥰
I love my Afro Steamer!! I hope Adrienne receives hers soon.
These are good tips. I never really thought about switching my liquids to creams for the fall/winter months and using hair vitamins.💚 For my deep conditioners I alternate moisture/protein with As I Am Long & Luxe Pomegranate & Passion Fruit(strengthening), Design Essentials of Almond & Avocado(moisture) and S.H.O conditioner(for both). I use Design Essentials and S.H.O both leave-ins they are both creams. ❤️😊🙋🏾♀️
P.S. I would like for you to talk about grey hair and what oils or products help to soften it. You may have discussed it before. I'm thinking about getting this new product called MANHATTEN grey hair cream. Can you check it out let me know what you think about it?🤔🙂
😮
Did you straighten your hair to get it like this in the video? It looks so soft and moisturized lol
Electric steam caps are cheap, good quality caps. Steams just as good even better than a hooded one I kid you not.
Amazon eBay has loads
Thank you for sharing, I’ll check it out! ☺️
My favorite hair Mask is Shea moisture raw Shea butter retention
I don't take vitamins for some reason they give me heart Pelps So I eat a lot of vegetables especially green vegetables and this really helps I eat a lot of fruits as well and I drink water at least 64 oz and this really helps my skin organs and my hair.. Thank you so much for this video your hair is very beautiful God-bless you🙏🏽💕✨️
Greens are the way to go! Thank you! God bless you too! 💜☺️
By chance do you have any tips on how to moisture low porosity hair while in braids during the winter?
Henna Sooq Goddess Hair fav DC and 4C Only TOO Thicke ❤
Thanks for the great information. I'm having a lot of problems with shedding. I did a big chop again, and my hair is still shedding. It just sticks to my hands...I hate it!!! I hope some of these tips and hacks will help me. Thanks again ❤️
Yes! Also try doing green tea rinses after you shampoo your hair, green tea is great for reducing excessive shedding.
Sorry about your shedding. Try the tea rinse. After you shampoo rinse your hair in the tea, do not wash it out. Instead go straight into you deep conditioning. Green tea rinses really work. You should do it every 2-3 weeks with your wash. Don't wash every week give the hair a break from all the manipulation since it's shedding excessively. Use a liquid leave-in that has protien the crame of nature is great. I would avoid heavy products like creams and hair grease since you shouldn't wash every week. Also d'étranglé get that shed hair out every other day to avoid tangles and breakage. Take supplements and avoid combs be gentle. Good luck 👍🏿
My hair was shedding excessively. I had to use the Aphogee 2 step and it was a game changer. They have a 2 minute protein with keratin that I use for maintenance every 2wks
(for now)and the shedding is very minimal. I deep condition every week applying conditioner on my hair then sealing with oils throughout my hair. w/ plastic cap and sit under dryer 15-30 mins. Blue magic hair grease is my friend. Hope this helps.
I was taking Nutrofol but I was growing hair everywhere except my head! I did see a reduction in shedding but the full beard was not worth it.
Elite Care USA has a nice steamer I plan to buy.
I love your hair. Did you do a blow out and a rod set?
I like to ask you a question. How do you feel about mousse for styling?
I'm first💃🏿
How are you Hair Doc?
I'm doing great! I hope you are too! :-)
@@CurlyChemistry Yes love😘😘
Thank you for the recs. Will definitely amend my monthly hair regimen. I am 4C, low porosity with fine hair. Dramatically reduced my excessive shedding, but still struggle with dryness. Would you recommend using an Ayurveda hair mask followed by a moisturizing deep conditioner? Thank you in advance.
I’ve been moisturizing my scalp with aloe Vera gel due to my seborrheic dermatitis but it doesn’t seem to be effective anymore, what can I use? Also I take biotin, vitamin D, cod liver oil, iron and multivitamins. I am no longer bald!
You do know that those Pure Hair Vitamins are gonna sell out on Amazon now, right, lol! I have the QRedew Steamer which I absolutely love and use more so in the colder months. I had an old tabletop steamer but the design frustrated me, cap was too shallow, so I got rid of it. My all time go to GOAT deep conditioner, and I have tried quite a few would have to be the Camille Rose Algae Renew. That thing melts the knots and tangles away and leaves the hair so moisturized! A very close 2nd would be the Kinky Tresses Restorative Conditioner for more of a strength/moisture balance….both topped with a spritz of ACV of course!
