There's a lot stories of missing people in the woods in my coutntry as well. Most known is related to dissaperance of 9 teenagers. They were celebrating last day of highschool, and decide to make a camp in area with long, and dark history, near Cracov city. One old man, who's lived in near village warned them, to not stay after sun goes down, as it might be dangerous for them. Long sotry short all of them vanished in thin air leaving almost no clue for Police, and families. After couple months man who walked with his dog found a camera which belongs to one of them. There were only couple photos, and on some of them you can see strange lights and mist. This case remains unsolved for almost 15 years right now..

This is interesting. Something that needs to be looked into, maybe someone can shed new light to this mystery.
Would you know how long the search was on? I mean, for 9 teens to disappear all at the same time with no trace, that's a huge HOW?!
Were there like caves in the forest or rivers?

It's possible for people to go into what is called a fugue state where they have no idea what happened during that time once they come out of it. That sounds like what happened to the guy that was missing for 15 months. He could have been wondering around as just another homeless guy, having no idea who he was or what his purpose was. Then one day he just came out of it. The mind can be mysterious. It's possible he had something stressful going on in his life at the time it happened, which would be a cause for the dissociation.

It was standing on my face directly over my left eye. I vividly remember waking up and seeing my bedroom walls and ceiling around the legs and body of that damn spider. altho I had no idea what it was, It still terrified me beyond description. I have no idea what happened after that, just that it was on me and total fear surged thru me to my core. To this day I have an irrational, life altering fear of spiders. I also remember and described exactly what our screen door looked like, the landscape of our yard, and my favorite neighbor girl's hair done up in a million multicolored hair bands. The highlight of my day was sitting in my walker and looking thru that screen door, just waiting to see her and the other neighborhood kids get off the school bus and walk up the hill. My parents never told me a thing of this but confirmed when I told them. I'd have no way of knowing if not real memories. They confirmed I was 1 to 1.5 when we lived there. Some people do have very early memories.

In the case of Ida May, you got to wonder how 350+ people searching overlooked the spot where she was found a mere 100 yards away from the location she initially disappeared. The biggest issue I have with the National State Parks is the total lack of cooperation they have given David Paulides. The fact they dont keep any records or documentation of the 100s of people who disappeared within their borders is more than concerning. As much as I admire & appreciate David's research & dedication to this, I'm left wondering why it has taken so many decades for someone to conclude there is a serious problem going on & the upmost priority to make others aware of this frightening issue. It's bad enough that it's going on, but its unfathomable that they are allowing unsuspecting visitors to go in the exact same areas. Without any response for why they do not keep documentation of the missing, it's easy to assume they dont want the information to go public. Without a doubt the result would potentially deter the amount of visitors & revenue to these parks, but how wrong is it to know this is going on, yet daily letting 100s of thousands of unsuspecting & unaware visitors go right into the same area where others have vanished without a trace?????. I personally could'nt live with myself if I allowed that to happen to 1 person, yet alone several.
That being said, its frightening to think our government puts greed as a higher priority than the well being of its own citizens. Citizens they are responsible for protecting no less. Is this the reason for the lack of cooperation & concern from the parks in the 411 Missing Project???? Sadly, its beginning to look that way.

There's nothing weird or strange here. On any given day, there are over 90,000 persons missing in the US every year. Experts will tell you the biggest sin anyone can do while hiking, is to be alone. For toddlers to come up missing out in the wild, is not uncommon. In many cases, wildlife is responsible, in many cases, toddlers get lost and crawl under a log or into a cave and the elements take over. Adults who should know better, hike alone, get lost, have an accident and again, the elements/wildlife takes over. To generally state that there is no explanation, is a huge leap of judgement. There are lots of explanations.

It for me at least felt a bit too distanced or even dehumanized when I was watching the Missing 411: The Hunted documentary despite them interviewing friends and even family of some who have gone missing. There just somehow wasn't that feeling of it being a real person that has gone missing but that it was just another case sort of and I personally found that very off-putting.

The last case Dave talks about in the Hunted documentary was the most bizarre. I was hoping you'd talk about the last case where the woman that was sitting at the top of a tree on a metal chair looking out for deer to hunt, where all of a sudden she sees a transparent figure move across trees. It looked similar like The Predator when he goes transparent. Also in a nearby high school a UFO light could been seen in the sky while kids were at a football game.

we have this phenomenon in Finland called Metsänpeitto (lit. forest cover). It's used to describe people or domestic animals who went missing in nature for unexplained reasons.
People "covered by forest" are described as not being able to recognize the terrain around them, even if they were on familiar grounds. In other cases they might have walked endlessly through unfamiliar terrain, or were rendered completely paralyzed, unable to move or speak. Unnatural silence devoid of the sounds of nature was also common. People or animals under the influence of the phenomenon are described as becoming either completely invisible to other people, or looking like part of the nature around them, like a rock. In one story a man had been looking for a missing cow for days. When he finally gave up and returned to his work, the first tree stump he struck with his axe transformed back into his cow.

My first thought was could there be a large species of eagle that could have picked up the smallest children and moved them at least some of the distance that they travelled. Eagles are often seen or depicted on boulders and can be quite silent. It could have happened quite quick without the child seeing it and realising what happened, however you would expect claw marks to the clothes or skin to be noticeable in this instance perhaps.

Uh... DNA isn’t more “pure” in children. It remains the same from birth to death... please be careful of what you say. When people have a large platform and spread misinformation, it just perpetuates incorrect information. A lot of people take things as fact without double checking simply because “well they have a lot of followers, they know what they’re talking about”.

@@julesfromjupiter that is a pretty misleading statement on epigenetics. Pure is not the word i would use since the DNA chain is still exactly the same, it is the "on off" DNA that is different. a very basic explanation is that your DNA gets methylated turning a particular code on or off. The DNA is still the same it is just being told to work differently

Someone soon realized that the child was missing, so they got a search party together to try to help find the child. After a span of several days, the efforts failed to come up with anything. Many people believed that the devil took the drowned child, giving it the name “devils lake”.

Not that I don't think the wilderness disappearance phenomenon isn't a bit bizarre at times, but I don't think people give nearly enough credit to a child's stamina as they should. From 4-9 years old I and a pack of kids in our town ranging from 4-12 years old would run around the mountains of southern California like a pack of wild animals. I went back as a teenager and traced some of the routes we used to run. It was not uncommon for us to cover 25 miles from sunrise to sunset in rough, rocky, mountainous terrain shared with mountain lions, bears, rattlesnakes, and coyotes and covered with pine needles (which makes everything slippery), cactus, and mesquite. And that we did just for fun. 25 miles.
When you stop to consider the fact that a truly terrified child running scared in the darkness all alone at night trying to find their way home in the freezing cold, you've now added adrenaline and increased heart rate to that stamina. That makes it possible for a very young child to survive in conditions that would have killed an adult.

Is there the slightest possibility that the very young children could have been taken by a large bird of prey? I saw recently, in 'Fortean Times', a Sea Eagle flying off carrying a lamb, which is a large piece of prey - young children probably don't weigh much more than a lamb. Large Raptors are present in mountainous regions, and the child being found high up suggests to me that he might have been dropped from a height, perhaps by a tired bird.
