Dubov has admitted to playing over 100 training games with Carlsen as part of their collaboration.
I really appreciate the work of the chess photographers, it's amazing how they manage to make almost all the players look beautiful in the photos. It looks like magic. But it is not possible that with all the development of technology they have not caused the camera to take silent pictures. If I were one of those players I wouldn't be able to concentrate on that agonizing noise.

In my opinion, what makes someone good at Chess is the ability to make critical thinking decisions in tough situations, which basically means being able to get out of a pickle if you are in one. Which is an exceptionally good trait that shouldn't be over looked!

I know it would've been impossible to checkmate Carlsen with only that queen left, but was Carlsen going to be able to checkmate Dubov within those 11 seconds? Beginner here too.. trying to answer. On that situation, magnus queen already on a great position to support or execute, i think whatever move dubrov go, magnus will move his rock beside his king, then dubov queen will under pressure, after that, maybe need other 3 or 4 move to checkmate. In their class, not resign on that situation only will get you being humilliated by your opponent.

Does anyone else drink water while playing? I have never seen any of magnus' opponents drink while playing him
I think it's a psychological trick. If he drinks water it means they better think because he made a good move to have time to drink and by them thinking that the time is running. But I like how his opponent caught him and moved while he was drinking.

Beginner here too.. trying to answer. On that situation, magnus queen already on a great position to support or execute, i think whatever move dubrov go, magnus will move his rock beside his king, then dubov queen will under pressure, after that, maybe need other 3 or 4 move to checkmate.
In their class, not resign on that situation only will get you being humilliated by your opponent.
