I honestly don't understand why so many people down in the comments are saying how Magnus took a moment to judge Giri for being a, "Draw machine." In my opinion, what makes someone good at Chess is the ability to make critical thinking decisions in tough situations, which basically means being able to get out of a pickle if you are in one. Which is an exceptionally good trait that shouldn't be over looked!

For all the knowledgable people out there, this might seem like a dumb question... I know it would've been impossible to checkmate Carlsen with only that queen left, but was Carlsen going to be able to checkmate Dubov within those 11 seconds? Couldn't Dubov have just tried to escape with his king until his timer run out or is that bad sportmanship? Or perhaps at this point Carlsen's moves were going to be so fast that he'd just gain seconds on the timer? Beginner here too.. trying to answer. On that situation, magnus queen already on a great position to support or execute, i think whatever move dubrov go, magnus will move his rock beside his king, then dubov queen will under pressure, after that, maybe need other 3 or 4 move to checkmate.
In their class, not resign on that situation only will get you being humilliated by your opponent.
