Do you appreciate the synchronized clocks in the corners?
Yes!
Great thinking from the editor
Yeah good idea..
very much
Yes
His mental strength is insane. I find it so hard to stay calm and carry on without doubting myself after a mistake.
How dare these guys playing chess during a coughing tournament.
It seems louder than it is due to the Mike :)
You win lol
Unoriginal comment
Chess coughs for its self
This never gets old!! 😂 😆 😂
"End Game" that's what makes magnus the GOAT.
It’s not really the ‘end game’ it’s the whole game setting up for the end game..
@@zeekzeek9088 shut up lil bro
It was a draw right? So how is Magnus the goat?
@@kenharry4370because even in a losing position he always has a chance of pulling out of it because his end game is so strong. He has saved losses with draws many times. Hikaru the same.
Thanks for this format! I really like that they show the players close-up and that their emotions are visible💖💖🌷
regarding tracking each move: bit of a time delay in showing the trail. Also i prefer a yellow trail to see the move faster & more clearly
Thank you for your input! Good idea :)
White should have played Ng4 around the 12 minute mark. It adds a 4th attacker on the black knight, and knight can't move because of the attack on the f7 pawn. Once that pawn falls both the queen and bishop will start taking pawns and black either loses a rook or gets checkmated.
Thanks for posting these!
You are welcome!
It's easy to look at the game with an engine and see what Richard missed, but there was no mating the king with his rooks, he was focusing on that and missed the EASY win by just pushing his g pawn, nothing Magnus could do to stop it
As a spectator with engine evaluation it's always easy. You are right - He just missed the g-pawn push under huge time pressure...
Exactly. Its easy for us to see, but we could never get to this position against Magnus , we’d be theoretically lost by move 15. No doubt about!
@@lionmane1979not really unless you don't know opening theory, I can hang with any Gm for the 1st 15 moves as can many very good players , ( by good i mean at least a 2200 ) yes magnus would probably take a much lower rated player out of book much earlier ( maybe maybe not cause it doesn't matter your going to lose no matter what so he might just play main line shit anyway , and quite a few mainlines go beyond 15 moves. So to say everyone would be theoretically lost by move 15 is rather silly against really good players .

Thanks for sharing.🙏
You are welcome!
Yes I do appreciate it
3:37 holy smokes i did not see that move 😱 look how the body language of rapport changes from before to after
Yes, the clocks are very good, they are adding a useful information. 😁👍
Glad to read this - Thank you.
The part where that dude went hmhmhmhm and drank a sip of water was fucking legendary
42:28 Magnus was going to play Qd2, stopped himself and realised instantly, shaking his head later
He could have take one of the tower after the check tho
@@dailydoseoffoose3806 qd2 check rook to g2 pinning the queen to king
Even GM can miss such a simple move to win the game under time pressure. Probably that is what differentiate those in 0.01% with 0.1%.
Which simple move?
I wonder if there's no time limit style of gameplay, who would actually be the #1
@@Viettzz Fabi or magnus.
@@aytaccevik9693 fork with the king and rook

It is a bit like Sumo ringing.
😅😊
That is the beauty of classical chess.
@GRENKEChess
Yes but the video would be much more appreciated if it would stary where the players begin the the game up until the end.
Thank you for your feedback! You mean that oine camera angle would be enough and just this one with the crowd in the background?
Richard is something special. I mean that in a really good sense. Once he learns to have more confidence...look out!
Rapport at the end: sorry
Whoa, would love to hear the reason or the background for saying that.
Same; tbh I’m still figuring out if it was a draw or what
He often says sorry to his opponents after finishing a game if they can’t win. After beating Pragg he even said sorry. What a gentleman.
@@lindastina thanks!
Yeah, I'm always rooting for my man Richie :)
it's draw?
@@Hascienda27he forced a draw by threefold repetition

45:19 why magnus not gone for pawn promotion their.... pB8?
That's moving backward
Ohh i didn't notice this...Lmao😂😂😂

Duel of chess titans
yes, indeed.
Very irritating that the end game are never clearly stated who won or drew. The formalities of chess end game must be changed to allow viewers to know how the game ended !!!
Use your eyes omg..
It was a draw
@@tianzhou1244 that is not the point i don't care what it was, the etiquette in Chess sucks. The end game should be clearly visual by toppling the king piece when resigning.
@@ericastier1646 bro nobody resigned, it was a draw
the cameraman should respect the player by not moving arround to close, its so annoying. Bobby Fischer would angry if he still alive.

Why not ng4
I'm also wondering
This is loosing for calsen
Gambarnya suram bos tolong di perbaiki

Doesn’t rapport have Rg1, Qe1 forced, RxQe1# checkmate at the end?
The rook on g3 can't go to g1 because it's pinned by the queen
3:37 - Why didn't I see the bishop move???

Can't grasp the feel of what my next moves might be
Too much background noise
This is a coughing contest
@44:10 richard made a blunder. If he moved his king up one square. He had good chances to move his castle to g1 and it woulda check mated. Idk what his thoughts were? Maybe magnus queen to h8?
interesting idea
@@GRENKEChess QH8 check and endless checks until draw.. think richard was looking for a win there at the end
Dam. Its so long
What rule made it a draw?
threefold repetition, i think.
Who is the winerM
It's a draw
Why did the clock on Richard's side change at around 42:03?
And Magnus time at 42:33?
they get a few secs after every move
its a tie?
He should have taken Pawn at B7 @35:35 then try to double up Rooks and try to checkmate or trade 2 Rooks for the Queen. Still up 3 pawns to 2 .
Are you SERIOUS??? The other rooks falls WITH CHECK. STUPID MOVE!!!!

The eval bar is making a mistake at 42:30
Not enough time to do all the movements to get the pawn be converted in a queen
Bagaimana mau melihat partainya.. layarnya kurang jelas (warna hitamnya buram) waduuh..pengemar catur tdk semuanya anak muda..(ada yg penglihatannya sudah kurang jelas)
They repeated the pieces 3 times or 4 times.
44:11
Who won? was it a draw?
At 8 minutes 31 seconds , rapport missed knight g4
What a superhero trying to defeat such an ogre!
20:52😂
Richard would be a really good poker face because you can’t tell if he is happy, angry or sad.
After Magnus played g4 Richard was way up
that black castle destroy only using bishop 12:11
How? Write the move!
Magnus played well against the great Richard Rapport
42:33 why didn’t Carlson move queen to D2? Check and takes rook on F4? Am I missing something?
As I posted this comment I realized the focus was on the G4 pawn. It all makes sense now.
Block check with Rg2 and white gets the queen for rook
you just hung your Queen!
Rg2, Queen pin.
44:00 all he had to do was move his king to H3, and he would've won
Magnus the GOAT 👍
true
Way like this play one baby can win very easy
Connect the rook
Sometimes it is good to surrender. Like when Magnus forces you out of any good options as in this game.;
Magnus Monster in engame
It's insane how he is holding here...
For a cush person like me , time will end 😂😅😅 up relapsing thinking it is magnus who is playing
Magnus is a machine and Rapp isnt. Computer had rapp with a big advantage but he could never take advantage of it and he cough cough choked. Which is sad i wanted to see more games played. Least Hans won in his tournament held in the same place future world champion! Hans would of made it a much funner game to watch.
Hans was called out by the arbiter during his game (unheard of) and returned looking perturbed. Something DEFINITELY happened and no one is saying
Muito barulho
Why did Magnus not fork the rook and the king with queen d2 checking the king and attacking the rook? Free rook surly?
What timestamp?

Both very handsome men considering they the top of the chess world.
especially rapport
They're just white
that white knight should have been used.. i saw the move before the queen sack
Was it a draw?
yes
Ayo main ro aku, Sekali sekak KO 😅
i think.its draw?
Yes the end result of the game was a draw. Magnus defended a lost position like a tiger...
Why did he said sorry at the end ?😂
Porque repite la jugada
It was a gentleman act - He knew that Rapport deserved the win in this game. Magnus defended a lost position to a draw.
please stop the camera man moving around!!!!!
You prefer static shots instread of a change of perspective?
I am a 1500 elo player and i found Ng4 under 3 sec and after Bb3 it's all over. A 2000 will finish Rapport with ease after Bb3. I really don't know how Rapport could have missed that one. But ok it is always easy to talk about others mistakes. I guess all the stress played tricks on him. Still that was a really easy (bad) one!
I am only a 1200 and I saw it right away too and had to rewind a few times to make sure I wasn’t missing something obvious. It has to be the time and stage pressure combined with the thing I struggle with all the time…. In timed games…. I assume my opponent will make the best move and am only prepared to counter that move not a mistake or inaccuracy. I have figured out how to avoid missing most blunders finally but alas the other two are what must be pounced on the most
Ng4 does not really work because of Qe7
Ookey ookey Magnus let off hookey!
Draw?
I'm just a noob but I think so yeah, 3 moves repeated. Not sure why Rapport did that. If Carlsen was ahead in games, maybe he only needed a draw to win.. I don't know if they have to play again tomorrow.
They played the first match, carlsen won@@alpacamybag9103

Actually raport can win, if he forward the free pawn
This was the winning plan.
