Wow I was super frustrated because my mac had not turned on for 2days and I spokd with apple support like 3times. Your a lifesaver!! Its also handy to know this about a laptop if you own one! Ssaved me a trip to repair store so thanks again!!
Thank you so much!!! This video saved me and I'm a novice about going into the computer but it was so straight forward and easy and it def worked!!!! Thanks again!!!
Something to try before you replace your battery and def do after you replace your battery (If you need to). Go to HD>Library>Preferences search for any file that has "power" in it and delete them. Mine had 4 on my 2010 Unibody and 3 on my 2012 MBP. Then restart your computer. Check your battery info. When you put a new battery in your Mac its important you do this step or it may have old info on the old battery being utilized. When I did this it fixed 2 of my Macbooks. They suddenly got better battery life and charged to almost full capacity. There is def some software bugs of sorts in Mac OS with the battery.
Same problem happened to me. I tried to plug in a damaged external memory device and my MacBook just went "Bleh" and blacked out. Tried to plug it in but only came back with the same characteristic faint blinking orange/green light. I found your video and it worked like a charm. Thanks dude.
hello, my mac has disabled all the usb, and after the battery is completely discharged, now i can no longer turn it on again because it has the usb blocked and the charger cannot charge it ... what should i do?
I have had same issue and it didnt work at all so i tried replacing the battery still have no power could it be the charging brick what model is yout mac the one i have is a a1278
@@fast-wheels i got another power supply and when i plug it in no light comes on at all buy when i plug in other one in blinks orange what are my other options do you think the power jack is bad or just the board itself
My macbook is getting started but showing black screen (i have changed the battery also try after changing the ram also remove and add the HDD ) but issue not solved if any solution please comment
Sounds like you are facing various issues. Sorry it's difficult to pin point from your description. What was it doing before you changed hardware? If you found a solution, please post it here, as it may help other folks. Good luck Soham!
You should use a chopstick or plastic wedge to remove battery cable. If you touch the circuit board with your hand you can create a static shock and harm the motherboard.
That sounds to me like it is a charger issue. I had something similar happening and I went to a local apple store and tried plugging in one of their chargers and it worked, so I purchased it.
I installed a new from amazon battery on my 2012 macbook air. When I plugged in the new battery I had the same issues.. I tried zapping the pram, didn't change the problem. The new battery had power to power the macbook, but it wouldn't charge, wouldn't recognize the battery. nothing.. I tried this, but also held down the power button for ten seconds a couple of times while the new battery was unplugged ( I think this drains any residual charge on someplace - resetting the battery info???). Anyway this work!!! thank you so much. I was about to send the new battery back and deal with that nightmare. You saved me a bunch of pain. Thank you..
375GTB 15 minutes ago (Random Quits OLD MBP's..) If all else fails Try unplugging the Clock Battery ( plug by the DVD drive on the right side ports board on my A1260...) For a few minutes THEN Re-set the SMC with it unplugged.... Seems to have worked for me... So far... Early 2008 MBP A1260 15" 2.5 ghz. J.C.
The battery looked good after you plugged it in with the indicator showing 75% charged. Therefor you probably didn't need to open it up and unplug it. Before doing all that I would reset the SMC. Press and hold SHIFT + CONTROL + OPTION + POWER BUTTON for 10 seconds and then turn it on as usual. In my case the battery was completely dead so it only works with AC adapter now. In which case reset the SMC then press and hold POWER connect magsafe cable, let go of POWER after 3 seconds. It should boot. Made a video about it --> ruclips.net/video/1te3uGftxFc/видео.html
Doesn't work for me. I've done it million times, I'll try to reset the battery. I've seen many videos of resetting the SMC, but those steps are for people whom their charger at least turn on the light on any color, but the laptop won't charge anyway. I think that resetting the battery may help in this case.
Bro I can’t even do that my Mac is discharged and when I plug it in and still says to get the charger and plug it in when it is so should I try this videos method ?
Thankyou for helping us to not get panic the steps are so clear and I did the same Thankyou once again for get my MacBookpro on track .

I'm having the same issue. My current battery is totally discharge and not able to charge.
Hey my still not working i dont know why help me please!
I have had same issue and it didnt work at all so i tried replacing the battery still have no power could it be the charging brick what model is yout mac the one i have is a a1278
That particular model was a MacBook Pro 13 inch 2012 (custom order). Likely a power cord... you should be able to check it at a Mac store.

Resetting the battery works, but what is the permanent solution for this problem? Do you think I need a new battery?
This should be enough. It never happens since...
@@paulo.andrade I have to do this every time to turn mac on. :(

You don’t need to make that. Just reset the smc and that was it
That's it

Yes, but there was no power meaning no combination of keys worked.
