At least for me, 99% of what you do on these boards are well above my head. I subbed to you due to one of your many great videos with a solid perspective on the topic. You have a great way of processing information and relaying those thoughts to us. All RUclips Channels start some place and then end up being something else. Roll with what works!

I’m commenting for the first time because I really want the algorithm to make repair videos popular
ur awesome
i liked your comment because I like it
I'm an auto mechanic and I love watching these videos. The diagnostic principles are similar and it's just satisfying to watch. Honestly though, the future of automotive is going in this direction anyway. I've heard of guys doing board-level repairs on engine computers!
love the board vids. I'm a PC "tech", two man operation in VT. It kills me that we can't profit on a board level repair level of service.
Adam by any chance are you in White River🤔
Another VT viewer here!
Same problem here in OK
@@ObamaFromKenya no the company is in Mendon
@@SICresinwrks :)
Honestly, I'd watch you work on anything. I enjoy your videos because you're charasmatic and insightful. I get what burnout feels like tho. All I gotta say, I've learned a bunch listening and watching you. I don't know about practical use of the knowledge, but you've planted the seed. Thank you for being you.
That poor Koala made me sad. I wouldn't call it dumb, it was meant to be in nature climbing trees and then someone kidnapped it and put it in a cage with trees painted on the walls.
I do get your point tho
koala 🐨 matrix
Imagine wasting that much of the only four hours of wakefulness you have each day trying to climb a wallpaper tree. Sad.
Sounds like you need that vacation that your favourite battery company helped you skip.
Watching you repair MacBooks is relaxing and soothes a part of my brain that loves to take things apart and see how they work
As long as it's you in the video, I'm happy, and I'm happiest when I get to see that you're happy. Do what works for you, man. Thank you for all these years of vids!
I find your repair vids oddly calming and fascinating. I'm glad to see them back.
I'd also love to see more about your modded E bike. 🙂
Louis you should get ready for the *New MacBook’s with the M1 chip*
Let’s see how repairable it will be
Most likely everything is serialized
He won’t even be able to open the case it is probably welded
Well apple "claimed" that "the design has not changed" only the CPU so maybe it will just be as repairable as the other models
The ram and the ssd was already soldered in to the boards in the previous models so I see no difference there.
@@BlackDragon31000 yeah, but you could still desolder the ssd or ram from the board, now it’s literally part of the chip. So it went from hard to impossible.
Please don't stop your board videos, I have learnt so much and they are always fun to watch.
I'm using that koalaed term moving forward, I work in IT professionally and trust people as far as I can throw them. Too many times in the past have I taken statements at face value to waste time troubleshooting the wrong thing.
Most of my revisits are going back to find out what someone else koalaed
@@stewartbrands if that is the case let's appoint a koala to be your primary doctor, the point is that koalas are lazy/inept compared to a competent human in that task. The term stands
Last!
And if you don't enjoy doing MacBook videos, don't do them! It's better for your mental health in the end.
This video is different to previous ones as where the voice sounds noticeably muffled.
When I was involved in consumer/professional (especially professional) I never took the customer's word for anything, because they were usually wrong.
You have a variety channel. You're not a one trick pony, so having a mix of content is perfect for your viewers in my opinion. Just do whatever you want to do. It's always interesting.
I will never own an Apple product but I enjoy watching skilled people do things but I also enjoy your takes on government, right to repair, NY issues and such while you sit in your comfy chair chilling with your cats.
"It's kinda fun doing Detective work ..."
Yeah, until you find the dead body 😬
That is usually the first thing that's found though lol
bro remember when you could ask siri where do i hide a dead body :D
PLEASE keep making these vids. You are an inspiration. I got into Electrical Engineering because of watching these... And I'm supposed to be reading up on MOSFETS and hearing you talk about them irl helps.
I like to fall asleep watching your bord repears. Im not roasting you, it is genuinely usefull for me in this regard.
That was the best yo mama joke I've heard in my life!
I honestly believe you have helped so many people in the 7 years of you doing these repairs. I personally have gained lots of knowledge and I have fixed iMac 27 inch Iv fixed MacBooks / pros / Air / even done my own iPhone repairs Apple Watch and honestly im grateful that you are still creating these videos as I know im not the only one Motivated to Fix my products or even friends. If I moved to NY from LA. I know for a fact that I would Love to work at your shop Because I have a experience with apple products and I know with a great mentor like you Nothing Gets in the way of success.. I am thankful so much Louis. Keep up the Great work you are really talented.
I enjoy the videos where you just sit in the chair and talk to the camera. Do whatever makes you happy
Most of the repair videos are way beyond my knowledge, I just love the channel for the brutal honesty you give and the fact you are one of the few channels that keeps it real. I enjoy watching any video you post, do what makes you happy!
Louis, please keep bringing us the repair videos. I love all of your uploads, right to repair, shop hunting, life lessons... all great stuff. But, I need the balance of the repair vids to keep me going :-) Maybe you could show more of the other staff doing repairs. More data recovery would be great. Hungry minds love your channel!
your logic is what we like. make videos on anything
I will miss you sir. (If you decide to never make a another repair video) You have provided many late nights of education and enjoyment. Do what makes you happy, what ever it may be... Your videos/forms will always be my 1st source of help when diagnosing a crapbook.
Your board repair vids Louis are like watching the great Bob Ross paint pictures. Only SLIGHTLY more intense.
Times change, so do your interrests....
Was really cool you showed us your tech for so long.
Thank you !!
I think it's good you're mixing it up with the content you're providing. I've seen so many videos of YT'ers going through a burnout phase. Even my son went through that (at age 11) and totally stopped YTing altogether, which is something he truly loved to do. He got out of it for about a year and now he's back into it. Even for him, it was that same issue of too much of the same thing over and over. I actually mentioned this to him at the time, but you know kids. Now he does videos on different things.
totally understand if you no longer want to do them. thanks for all the ones you've done.
I keep watching you for your glorious rants ;) keep 'em coming ... and Mr. Clinton
Rossman, these are the best classes I ever had. None of the usual, time-wasting school bullshit where you don't learn anything.
I love the board repair videos although I will probably never try doing this myself, but I find it very educational and entertaining.
Thanks for the video everyday I learn something new and a better way to approach a problem thanks again
I love your board repairs I know you haven't been making many recently. I have missed them. Not only are you very knowledgeable but you are very entertaining. Your mama jokes and getting Kolallaed LOL you are awesome. Please keep doing the board repair videos. I do like all your videos and insights. You are a very intelligent guy
10:00 - I knew I didn't do my electronics right - I needed more attitude :) LOL
Louis. I hope you find your joy for board repair again. It's still there! - you just need to find it again. After all, it's what attracted me to subscribe to your channel in the first place. I'm not a repairer, just an ordinary 66 year old Joe with a huge amount of curiosity for all things tech/scientific. I miss your enthusiasm for repair videos and whereas I fully enjoyed your videos when looking for a new premises, I'm not really enjoying much of your recent content. You're free to do what you like, but please don't give up on the board repair videos. They are surprisingly compulsive. Take care of yourself.
Your awesome bro keep up the enthusiasm. I you don’t know how much you helped people with your videos.
I've been doing diagnostics & repair in a number of fields for over 50 yrs.
1st ask the customers what symptoms the device has / what does not work .
Some history .
The last thing , never let the customer , or another shop direct / diagnose what is possible .
Those 2 sources can be a conversation --- after the diagnostics , or when the estimate is given .
I really enjoy these videos. Thanks so much! If you don't wanna post them, we will understand as well
Thank you
I love to watch your Videos when i am on Break from Work ^^
Well that’s a bummer Louis...we love them!
my mid 12' still working great
I enjoy all your videos, repairs of all types and opinions. So mix them up or do what is best for you, it's all cool.
Damn it man!!
I enjoy hearing you as you speak on your masterful knowledge of shit I have no idea what's going on. I've gone to sleep just listening as you do these repairs (I mean it in the best way possible)
As a follower from Chicago, unless you recommend a local shop...ima spend the extra money and send to you.
I enjoy your bike rides through NY the best...
Great repair
Great video, Louis.
@10:08 I almost crapped my pants from laughter:
"Perhaps it spoke to the battery, and the battery said:
- Yo momma so ugly that she writes ISL6259 in her schematic, even when it uses an ISL9239!
And then the ISL9239 said:
- Well fuck you I ain't charging you!"
That's another reason why I love your board repair videos. Louis, if you don't enjoy making these videos anymore, you should not force it - but if later you will feel like doing some more again, do not hesitate please! There is market for these type of contents, too. :)
Keep up the great work, and be safe in these crazy times!
God the auto repair business is so similar its not even funny. Never trust the customer or what they think. Our stories are similar on how i opened my own shop and the 90% / 10% analogy ive been thinking for years and now u put it in words. Kudos good sir!
I understand something getting stagnant, but you sure do a good job providing entertaining content
Great vid!
Nice repair
Louis.
1) dont do vids if you do not feel like it.
2) ive had customers come into my car repair place with a long list of issues theyve been trying to remedy. I remember specificly a customer coming in w a 1995 mustang not running right. ”Weve replaced the spark plugs to no avail”
Guess what, after more than 10 hours of fault searching we replaced the spark plugs with 8 new oem plugs, and after that it ran great
So, after all, you had some fun time, Louis!
I swear this NEVER happens. I never come this early
Bruh.
Maybe don’t take some viagra next time, relax, think of rubber duckies
😂😂😂
EleriLeigh burn
I love it when there's an apple head just before your videos
Fare well my good friend, catch ya on the flip side.
........ why am I here? I don't own a macbook, I don't repair computers, I understand very little of technical jargon Louis is saying. HOWEVER every time he makes apple looks silly I giggle, so heres a sub. Thank you Louis.
I'm pretty sure I speak for most of your followers here by saying
We all love the board repair videos bit if you don't want to do them any more then so be it....we will still follow you mate
I love your editing for some reason lol.
That small flex cable above the battery was a real bastard for me because it would no longer communicate with the battery and the board. It took me two purchases of the same flex cable for the board to recognize the battery.
I was just in your shop ..
Yesssss the boss is back!!
i fucking love board repair videos i hope you make more
whoohoo board repair video!
I do enjoy watching your repair videos but completely understand if you stop because you don't enjoy making them anymore
LIFFE changes and we grow....When it is no longer "fun" it is time for your next adventure. You have it, and you will exceed at the next challenge. If it is no longer 'fun' you will hurry and make mistakes. A word from the master
In Australia Koalas have a saying, it is that you're a Rossmann. It's when you should have a clue, but you just don't. When the Koala turns and looks toward the camera, he's saying "I'm a Rossmann".
Really like to hear your opinion on Apple silicon project and your comments in M1 chip.
Thank you sir, your honesty is therapeutic, sorry that you no longer enjoy teaching.
Looking forward to your video about the Apple M1 chip! The good and the bad!
I didnt understand a thing of what you are doing here, but you figth planned obsolense and i stand whit you my bro
I see the new mac mini last night looks like the logic board is about the size if the one in a iphone max looking forward seeing how long befor you have to fix one
i barely understand anything, but i love it.
Hello Louis, congratz on the new Apple ARM chips and lack of cooling, I hope your business keeps booming with Apple's help.
Best regards from Portugal
Hi Louis, love all your videos. Just curious, what’s your opinion on the new Mac’s?
Hey man, take it easy
Although you sit there alone working on a board, there is a virtual stadium 🏟 full of people watching you, at the 50 yard line, and cheering.
You do you! I love all of your content and it's always nice to see someone with more careful hands than myself repairing boards. You're commentary and fight for right to repair has always had a forefront in my mind but in the end, don't burn yourself out, please take the time you need or do what you wish. I just hope its good
in short, just write a nice note saying thank you for working on this poor little macbook, got it
I enjoy repair videos...
Make any video that you like and ill still watch no matter what it is
I watch for your comments, not repair information on a product I refuse to support.
Because of you I have mustered up the courage to fix my own screens and batteries on my mobile phones.
It's nothing compared to your skill set but you are an inspiration for many.
Btw our government don't give 2 fucks about koalas. #koalakiller
I subbed for the Board Repair, I stayed because of the Rants and Cat Videos.
Maybe give iphone repair a try to switch things up
hey man we love ya, do what you like and we'll dig it I'm sure - rawk on!!
FYI I came to realize I don't actually enjoy watching any of your board repair videos. Maybe it's because I've been watching them for several years. But, let's watch one today anyway.
Is an A1989 board with a corrupt T2 chip unrepairable?
love the board vids
Cant wait for Louis opinion on the new SoC macbooks lol
Hi Louis:
I was wondering with OpenBoardView if you had a PDF schematic, how would you "link" it to the .brd schematic? Like how you have a "PDF" button for every component that jumps to the PDF
Okay, I'm a couple of days late here, but I understand that you're feeling that way Louis, regarding not finding it fun any more.
You need to start repairing Microsoft Surface units.
Good luck with what ever new things you decide to stream about, if you ever keep with that.
No worry won’t be to long before you can’t even open the case to do any repair. True $1000+ “disposable” machine.
Make the videos you like to do if you want to. I try to make sure to watch them.
Wait so did you replace the connector?
Louis please comment on new Macs ASAP.
Hey Louis, how would I go about getting a quote on a MacBook repair my friend? Love the videos also.
That's the cleanest MacBook I've seen in some time.
There isn't even any pubes.
What do you think about the new Apple computers with the new M1 processor with integrated RAM, GPU, etc..
