    Thx man for the vid, but what was the main issue with the battery?
    I got a brand new battery (Not genuine Apple one) and dead after 3 cycles only, after disconnecting the charger for once since i installed it, and when the Mac was unplugged last time the charging was dropping instantly!

    Question: I think most people here do not have a proff power supply. Would it work with a standard AC-DC power supply, that gives 11volt and 1 ampere??

    This video was extremely helpful! Thankfully Apple didn't designed it's battery pack to be so complicated where it would prevent us charging the battery manually. This means we would never need to charge the battery using apple products, instead we can use a $1-$3 small BMS chip, do some little hard wiring with the battery, and charge the internal battery manually with zero effort after modifications using the BMS chip. Drill a tiny hole in the macbook side for the new charging cable.

    Are there still no bms that have a battery rescue mode? I would bring it up a bit slower than that. 0.4A. Is there no BMS inside the battery? Why would you take the connector to pieces when you can just stick 2 pieces of wire down the holes. kegs from resistors work well!
    I'm trying this now on a 2009 13" macbook pro. I'm using 0.3A initially. For some reason this battery was fine but after pulling it out from the draw after 2 months it was 100% dead. No voltages across any pins. I found this strange. The laptop must have been sleeping or something without me realising.
    Yes. Confirmed. I charged to 10.4 and it is now charging with orange lamp.

    Hello. I have a MacBook air 2015 with the same problem. Battery healthy, 86 cycles, but no charging. But the connection to the motherboard is not really the same. The plastic is melted with the pins. This method works with my model if I just find the way to touch the 2 extreme pins? Im not sure which is the + but maybe an electrician will figure it out?

    Hi,
    I have a macbook pro 13" early 2011 . The battery wont' charge after a shutdown period of approximatively 6 months. When running coconut battery, it saids that the battery is at 86% of it's initial health, with only 250 cycle counts.
    However, the macbook thinks it's dead, and it advises me to replace it. (Well done planned obsolescence !).
    I've tried SMC and PRAM reset as adviced by many, but without no success.
    Just to be sure : does your method works with my model ? I do not own such power suply, but I'll seek for one.
    Thanks a lot !

    Did not work for me. Used a 10.9V 6A power supply with A1322 battery, and the process did charge the battery to 2% but it did NOT change the battery condition , it remained unchargeable. I tried it with two different 3rd party batteries that were new (1-2 cycles) but were never been able to charge with my macbook.

    • @sto2779
      @sto2779 4 года назад +1

      That has to be because you have a faulty SMC chip in your motherboard or most likely the IC chip is faulty in your MagSafe charger's Tip. The charger's Tip has 5 pins, the middle pin talks to the macbook and tells it to charge the battery. That middle pin could have no contact with the macbook or inside the charger's Tip, the IC chip could be damaged. But as long you can manually charge the battery is a good thing since you can buy a $1 BMS chip to charge your macbook battery. A little effort in hard wiring is needed. The BMS chip needs to know when it should stop charging the macbook battery.

      @@sto2779 you sound like you know a thing or 2. My macbook pro mid2015 battery is flat and wont charge, sometimes it would not charge but restarting the laptop cured it, this time the battery is too flat to even turn on. I am unsure if its the charger or the battery itself. If my charger was good, would i have been able to charge the battery? Or is there a thing in the battery telling my charger to not work?
      Battery glued in, is it possible to disconnect it which may possibly reset the battery to allow me to charge? Is it simple? Do i need a new battery? I am so lost on what to do. I dont know anyone with a charger i could try...
