Hi! I had this problem with macbook pro mid 2012. Sleep light blinking abruptly but after unplugging the battery, when I plugged the charger again, the sleep light indicator blinks thrice with one beep then the fan dies out after 2 or 3 seconds, the same thing happens - sleep indicator blinks thrice with 1 beep and then the fan turns off. But when I plug the battery back in, the sleep light only blinks once and dies out abruptly. Kindly ask for your help, what do you think is the problem and how can I solve this? Thanks.
UPDATE!!!! well i got the new trackpad and cable, installed them, and no go. so i brought it to my friend marco who is a real mac tech to see what he thought. he also swapped both parts with same results. now heres the weird part: i then tried to take my stuff off the hard drive and to hell with the thing, but the drive wouldnt come up on any of my external readers. so i brought it to marco to give it a shot. It mounted right up! no way! so he pulled the data for me and i went back home to look for a new macbook. a few days later i thought, what the hell ill slap this drive back in and see what happens. well it then worked! and its been working for 2 months now. so i really dont know what happened. maybe you have a theory?

battery light indicator thing on the side is also not blinking if the laptop is not plugged to the charger.
I have the same problem
When i press the power button the sleep light blinks once... and the fan spins for 1 sec ...
