    Anyone with this issue. Hold down the power button for 5 seconds. Plug in the adapter while still holding down the power button, hold for another 5 seconds and it will boot.

      @@krishiyadav5659 it's something to do with a failure on the motherboard. You should prepare for issues of that sort some months down the road or it not booting at all. But when issue is still new this solution always works. 👍🏼

      If fan isn’t working then it needs replacement. Also possible cause is bad memory(ram). Trying removing one of them and turn on mac and vice Versa. Still if it doesn’t work the you need to visit apple service.

    • @agentsan23
      @agentsan23  2 года назад

      In that case I m afraid to say it could either problem with both or any of the ram or issue with the logic board. You can try removing one ram and turn on mac and vice versa. If it didn’t work then logic board is corrupt. Don’t try to replace logic board as it’s too expensive and better to get a new mac. Your data is safe, third party vendor and remove hard disk and recover your data

    I have a mid-2009 MacBook Pro that I've recently done a couple of upgrades on. When I turn the power on now the power light comes on clicks off and then comes back on again and stays on. The fans are working so there's power getting to the machine both with the charger attached and without the charger attached. That's all it does though the screen remains black and I can't hear anything that would tell me that it's booting up. Removing and reattaching the battery did not help. I've checked the LVDS cable that I detached to replace the Wi-Fi card and those two connectors look like they are properly re-seated but I'm not certain of this. I believe the new 2x4GB RAM cards are in the slots properly. None of the keyboard reboot alternatives (eg NVRAM) has any impact. I have no idea what's going on. How would I begin to diagnose this problem?

    • @agentsan23
      @agentsan23  2 года назад

      It could probably be issue with ram. Remove one ram 4gb and check if it boots up and vice versa.

    • @tubular26
      @tubular26 2 года назад

      @@agentsan23 Thanks for your reply. I did as you said and even tried the old 2 GB of RAM in each slot but nothing worked. I should've also said that the backlighting on the keyboard doesn't work even though the fans do.

    Why didn't you remove the battery first... before removing the other components...?

    • @agentsan23
      @agentsan23  2 года назад

      Ideally it’s not required to remove battery. According to instruction from apple(link below) for removing and installing Ram. I presume the same applies for hard disk. However there is no harm in disconnecting battery before removing other component

    Took out the new wifi card and reinstalled the old one. Now it starts, stops and then starts again (doesn't go to sleep like before). Fans much louder now as it runs but still won't boot up. Do you still think this is a logic board issue?

    • @agentsan23
      @agentsan23  2 года назад +1

      Yes and I suspect the memory slot could have gone bad. Only few third party repair shops replace the memory slot. I would suggest go for a new MacBook as your MacBook model is too old and getting logic board is difficult and even if you managed to get it will be expensive. Don’t worry about data as there are some adaptor available to use your old MacBook internal disk to be used as external hard disk
