Not inf worked. All I hear the sound as if it is going to start and nothing happens
My fan rotates which stops on shutting down
I removed the cable to the hard drive and connected. But no deal
I disconnected and connected the power cable no response
      What else shoujd I try.
Yesterday once the screen came on. But I did not have the password .
Then after a few hours after I found my password , tried again. No result
      Thank you

LIFESAVER!!!! Did your tutorial on a 2015 Mac 12” in a slight different way and it worked perfectly. The motherboard was/ is broke. Apple shops told us nothing we can do and all files are gone. We started the Mac and running on power cord now and are syncing and saving all documents to iCloud and transferring to new Mac (somehow iCloud didn’t upload 31GB of our data previously). Can’t thank you enough, without this video all would have been lost forever! THANK YOU!!!

Hi Chad, after buying a MacBook Pro from Bay 2015 13 inch. I plugged it in and put all my information on. 8 hours layer, I plugged it in. Alas, no light on the charger. No power, totally dead. After instructions for the seller and going through different methods, like you described. Nothing. I sent it back and my cost to send it. It turned out to be the logic board. It was changed and sent back to me at no charge. It works like new now, with a new battery as well. An amazing seller and very professional. I shows that it can be deeper than a few finger presses and battery discharge. but a good video from you none the less. 2015 and getting 9.5 hours battery life on average.

On Friday, I worked on my MacBook Air (2013 I think). Battery went low, I closed the lid, Sunday I connected the charger, light went orange and after about 2-3hours to green. When I do a SMC reset when the battery is either not fully charged or disconnected I see the charge cable light shortly turn green.
Did all three steps, even with battery disconnected it didn't turn on with 3 key presses on the power button.
Had a similar problem after the update that came after Catalina (can't remember the name), somehow that boot procedure took longer. So after 20nseconds or so I would finally hear the chime.
With the latest updates (kept my MacBook up to date) the power up would chime immediately.
But now after the total discharge of the battery it doesn't want to turn on.
BTW, the plastic pull tab on the battery connector doesn't survive 11 years, it just tore off
      😮

Thanks for leaving a comment Christina! I'm sorry to hear that, but the question mark is usually related to your Disk. Try Disconnecting and re-connecting it from your motherboard. Best and good luck!

Thank you Chaq for posting this!! I have a MacBook Air Retina 2017 - Core i5 and the only thing that worked for me was the last step. Spent all weekend trying to turn it on using the other steps. So close to giving up and sending it in for repair. Finally ordered the screwdrivers and when I unplugged the battery, attached the power cord and opened the laptop…tada! It was already turned on, didn’t even have to push the power button. I was so pleasantly surprised and relieved. I hope others the best of luck!!

My charger light didn’t even go on, and I was sure the issue wasn’t my charger or charging port. But after step 3, both my mac and charging light was back on!

If you live an Australia go to JB Hifi for the XCD precision screwdriver set. It’s the 1.2 screw head - Not the T4.
Thanks so much for the video mate. Saved the day.

Hi, if you carefully followed all the steps and no fan noise can be heard, this might indicate a hardware component failure that needs to be repaired/replaced.
