Unplug the charger, hold down Shift+Control+Option+Power button for 10 seconds, then release all at once. Plug back the charger and press the power button normally. This worked for me. After your system comes on, shutdown and do the SMC reset to prevent the issue from recurring Let's know if this works for you.

This tutorial saved me from purchasing a brand new MacBook Pro. I acquired the very first version from an Apple Store 15 years ago and never had any problems with it until about a month ago when the screen went black. I followed the instruction by removing the back, disconnecting the battery, and the reconnecting it. The computer’s screen turned on immediately. A few days later while I was working on it the screen went black again. I re-visited the tutorial and followed the instructions to remove the internal memory boards, clean the connector, and re-insert them. The screen lit right up and my computer is operating as if it were brand new. The so-called technicians at the Apple Store’s “GENIUS BAR” didn’t have a clue as to what to do and advised me to purchase a new computer. Boy, were they wrong!
I've a MacBook Pro late 2012 model and I merely had any issue with my mac until now. Actually since few months back there was an issue with the charger. I had to put something right beneath or on top of the charging head in order to charge. Recently I repaired it but unfortunately till then my mac's completely drained out of power. My MacBook appears to be stuck in a boot up cycle. The boot up chime rings, then silence for a few seconds, the it does it again. Screen isn’t black, more like a really dark purple. Sadly, none of this worked for me but I found the process easy to follow. Perhaps you should have mentioned that re-installing the OS means losing any data not backed up to external storage. Luckily I had learned this from another online help video but others may not be aware of it.

MacBook 2012, Unable to install mac os. I try with 2 SSD and 2 Kit of RAM (the original one and 2 4G ddr3 (compatible with this laptop) and I am unable to make it work. I change the Termal past TOO. The termal past was VERY DRY. I launch the MAC with ALT+R for the Recovery mode. IT TAKE VEEEEERRRYYY long time to come in the recovery mode. All was VERRY SLOW and the MAC close Before finish someting. Some time the LOADING for the recovery mode NEVER END.... Do a Failed MotherBoard can make it appent?

Worked! Needed to reset “SMC” I didn’t get a flicker in the power light but the screen did flash battery at 100% next time I pressed the power button the Mac book powered on. Whew! Before this, looking at a dead screen really had me upset. Showing a text across the screen in your presentation of each method was very helpful. Explaining what each method was resetting was interesting and shows you clearly understand what you’re talking about. Hello I have done smc option but when macos high sierra appear I have given my Id but they are saying you cant upgrade this version of macos because of newer version is installed so now what I have to do please suggest ?!!!

Hi there. I didn't have any power at all in my Macbook Air 2017 1466. Wouldn't even get a green or orange light when plugged in. Nothing. I just changed my i/o board and have power now but it won't turn on at all. I tried all of these steps and none worked. Pitch black, won't even make a sound. Any suggestions of what my issue could be?

Woah, doing the power cycle actually worked! Hold power button for 10 seconds, while still holding the power button insert the charging cable then keep holding for 10 more seconds. Thank you!!

MacBook 2012, Unable to install mac os.
I try with 2 SSD and 2 Kit of RAM (the original one and 2 4G ddr3 (compatible with this laptop) and I am unable to make it work.
I change the Termal past TOO. The termal past was VERY DRY.
I launch the MAC with ALT+R for the Recovery mode. IT TAKE VEEEEERRRYYY long time to come in the recovery mode. All was VERRY SLOW and the MAC close Before finish someting.
Some time the LOADING for the recovery mode NEVER END....
Do a Failed MotherBoard can make it appent?

Step #5 of this video seems to have done the trick! My Air was 'dead' and I was worried that it was going to the graveyard but by following step 5 (SWC I think you said it was called), I seem to be back up and almost running. Fingers crossed. Thankful that I had a spare laptop at home to find this video.

My macbook is not charging and cable showing its not connected. Did the SMC reset and finally its shows that its plugged but the battery is still not charging so i decided to restart but the battery is 1 percent only. And it never turn on again. Any help? Hope you will reply. TIA

my issue is with my apple laptop. I've tried the first four of your options. I have a light gray screen, darker gray apple, I hear a churning, and orange light is on the power source. not sure what to do. The machine is 2009 but I upgrade ios and it worked fine for about 9 months. suggestions? I did purchanse a Xtra-pc pr0 64 GB but it doesn't work

First my macbook pro showed pic of folder with ? Inside.. then i did the thing to reset the nvram and it turned on... after using it i turned it properly off and i cant turn it on, like it just died.. i tried everything including shift ctrl option plus power, with and without adapter cable... first couple times when pressing power button i heard some click sound but now even that is gone.. help!?

Worked! Needed to reset “SMC” I didn’t get a flicker in the power light but the screen did flash battery at 100% next time I pressed the power button the Mac book powered on. Whew! Before this, looking at a dead screen really had me upset. Showing a text across the screen in your presentation of each method was very helpful. Explaining what each method was resetting was interesting and shows you clearly understand what you’re talking about. This saved me a trip to the “Genius Bar” and the hassle and delay of trying to arrange an appointment. Sincerely, Thank You!

I have a MacBook Pro Mid 2009. When I power up the Sleep Indicator light (front right edge of MacBook) goes on and the fans start running. Suddenly I hear a click and the light goes out then it comes back on and nothing else happens. How would I diagnose a problem like this?

Hi there, thank you for your question! If you tried all the steps mentioned in the video I would recommend trying to enter safe mode by turning off your MacBook Pro then turn it back on immediately by pressing and holding the Shift key then release the key when you see the Apple logo this should help you figure out if its some specific software causing the issue.
