I am currently living and working abroad and anything to do with technology (or fixing tech) is very expensive here. I nearly had a full on panic attack when my battery status was no longer showing on my home screen anymore and my charger wasn't lighting up when plugged into my laptop. I was worried I would have to pay an arm and a leg to get the problem fixed but I stumbled upon your video, followed your directions, and it solved the issue!! Thank you so very much!!

Resetting the SMC by holding down the keys worked! My charger immediately lit up and my dead 2010 macbook pro turned on. I had so much work on there, this was a HUGE relief! Thanks man :)

Hey can you answer my questions? so you know the 4 gold things on the charger when you trying to charge it to your mac? instead of mine being all gold some of it became kind of brownish how do i fix that

i have MacBook Pro (17-inch, Early 2009) works perfectly running Mojave OS, but today the battery shows 100% fully charged so when i unplug the power adapter the MacBook shut down direct ! the condition of battery is "Replace Now" and the message under the power percintage says "power source : power adapter" , i do an SMC reset but the issue with battery not solve. i need to fix it ASAP plz to finish my graduation project.

Try setting on a hard and flat surface; I was trying to charge my MBP while on the bed and had no luck..... then i placed on a hard surface and that did the trick

That is amazing, removing the battery, pressing power button for five seconds, reinserting the battery and pressing the power button >>> and it works! SMC is reset, it is now powered on and battery is charging!

Yup, mine complete is zero. From the new magsafe L type charger for my A1181, my macbook still wont charge and the charger is not lighting up. Do i need to change batt bricks
Hi I Bought a magsafe (as a backup) but it lights and charge for a few seconds then the light shuts down and no charge. I got another one that it´s working very well with my macbook. Is there any solution? Thanks.
Idk if I misunderstood the the process for a non removal battery Mac, but I held down the shift, ctrl, option AND power button and voila.. it reset the SMC. The light on my charger turned on. Thanks!!

Can I just say - you are my hero tonight! I was even browsing Apply online store to buy a new charger coz I thought it’s my charger! When I did the reset thingy, it worked! Green light in my charger lit up again! Yay!! Thank you!!! ❤️

I was freaking out by the time you said dont freak out and then i thought my brother would kill me and all the memories that i has with this mac book air is now gone snd then i saw the glitch one where you want to press shift and stuff like that and i was soing that and i was waiting 10 seconds and presing them i literally starting to have tears i was sobbing and then magic happend it turned on and i was like hugging mac and soooo happy like sooooooo much happy and now i will take care of my mac book air amd whenever something is not starting i always start to tears and it start like my ipad it was glitched and nothing was working i was also freaking out and then i started to have tears I accidentally pressed the volume botton and it got normal i think my devices love me cuz whenever i start to cry it starts love you devices

So my MacBook fell and my battery stopped working, i got to come on and it worked without a battery for weeks only it fell again off a coffee table on the charger and wouldn’t come on... let’s see if it works but if it doesn’t any suggestions, other than get a new one?

My isn't working, the only thing I can see that it isn't working because of is at the beginning there is a small cut we tried to work it at every angle but still it isn't working. Any suggestions or advice on the problem?

I reset the SMC and replaced the charger port and even bought a new charger.
My old charger, the green light stays on but laptop not turning on.
The new charger the light doesn’t come on. Should I replace the battery to see if that’s the problem before bringing it to a shop ???

Hi, I wanted to know. My MacBook Air a1466 i7 2017 model had liquid damage. I had replaced the battery since it was holding a charge. I notice before my battery came I took that battery out and it worked at half performance but still worked. But now that my replacement came I installed it and the charger light didn’t come on With the new battery installed, I am genuinely confused. I understand there is a whole process of Calibration but the thing it the light doesn’t even turn on. Yet the laptop doesn’t even recognize the battery. I checked the battery port on the logic board and it was fine. I am genuinely confused please help me.

The magnet around the charging port on my macbook pro 2012 is broken into many pieces after 10 years from hitting the magnet hard many times when connecting the cable to charge it. Where can I find a replacement? Apple does not store spares.
If your Magsafe connector seems to not seat properly in the port (i.e.: it "rocks"), check for any fragments of metal that may have gotten sucked in by the very strong magnet. A surprisingly common problem. Staples are the #1 culprit.

Presumably you've gone through the steps in the video. Resetting the PRAM and the SMC is the first port of call as that fixes many different problems. If the machine won't charge unless powered down that implies the Mac isn't getting enough current from the charger. Try a different charger and if that works a new charger may be the answer. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

I think your battery is dead. You need to visit an Apple store and they can check that for you.

m s it's not a problem with your charger, it's a problem with your battery. This could be caused by overcharging it, when it's at 100%. You'll need to replace your battery xd
The light indicator on my charger doesn’t turn on but my laptop screen says it’s charging and it only works with a specific side up. The battery logo appears on screen and I’ve charged it for a while but my MacBook doesn’t boot up. I tried every in the video and no progress. I’m think I’m going to have to buy a new charger and see if that solves the issue.

My laptop is a mid 2009 and when I plug my charger in it doesn’t light up and I even checked if everything was plugged in,it was all plugged in. Why doesn’t it work?? And what do I do???
Im not a pro but checked a friends' (who had the same issue as you) macbook air (early 2014-model) and checked and double checked everything before coming to the conclusion that it must be the I/O board that needs changing. Dunno if the 2009 macs has a separate I/O board, if not itll be a bigger problem for you. Just google 'I/O board macbook' and you will see. Hope this helps to find the problem at least!
