    For those of you for whom this suggestion DID NOT WORK, I was feeling desperate. I tried EVERYTHING. I finally took some aluminum foil and jammed it between the charger and the port. It didn't work, BUT when I removed it, its DID WORK! Not sure why, but I'll be trying again if there's a next time.

    I have a macbook air 2011 A1369. I have a problem with the boardmagsafe but the spare part I find is a1369 2014-2015 though. Can you tell me for sure if it will fit on my Mac because as I told you it is a 2011 model. Thank you

    • @Repair2Renew
      @Repair2Renew  2 года назад

      It should fit as long as it is from a A1369.
      But to be sure, take out the dc-in board. You see the flying leads coming off the board.
      You should see some adhesive on the board holding leads down.
      Carefully scrape that away, the part number will be underneath,
      It should be something like 820 3455-a?
      Make sure the new DC-in board has that part number

      Plug should be fairly solid in the mac, when plugged in.
      As per the video, check for any obstruction the the charging port plug and mac side.
      Staples, metal rubbish, etc. Can be hard too see.
      Otherwise you will have to take it to a repairer

    • @Repair2Renew
      @Repair2Renew  3 года назад

      Check for a obstruction in the charging port. magnets may be being held apart by metal crud, staple, etc. You will have to look closely, especially if it is a staple. Magnet must be a solid connection.

    • @Repair2Renew

      Your macbook has most likely been pulling excessive current, due to a fault.
      I would replace the Charge board (DC IN board), then change the battery.
      If this is not in your skillset, take it to a repairer

    • @Repair2Renew
      @Repair2Renew  2 года назад

      Thanks for the tip, but I am going to pull you up there Manny.
      The green light depends on the "one-wire" circuit, which is a direct interaction between the smc via a controlled gate.
      The SSD port is controlled by a totally separate power supply Circuit, total separate data controller via the PCH, nothing to do with the "one-wire" circuit.
      But if the MacBook does not boot with a green light, it cannot hurt to checkout the SSD connector.
      Cheers MBK
