>Replacing Velvet's Hologram Camera cloning weapon with a generic grenade launcher with Not Dust Ammo Eeeh Like I get the point of the series is trying to "make it work" and we've really been dialing back how powerful the characters are to make the Grimm a real threat, but skewering the rule of cool anime stuff that was actually foreshadowed during the volume itself to try and give Velvet what little characterization they even deigned her in the actual series with the quirk about photographing people- implying both a hobby in photography and weapon nerdery she could have potentially lead to her getting along even more with Ruby, for something "More effective" in the form of BIG GUN seems kinda...bland.
If it was still a hologram type weapon I'd be like that would be cool or at least have it so she switches weapons a lot because she's very talented at multi tasking and learning how to use more weapons etc etc
Not gonna lie, not a fan of Yang punching the lieutenant into his certain death instead of back into the ground which would very likely shatter his aura after everything that's happened to him. It feels very out of character for Yang to just...purposefully kill a guy, even if she's pissed off. And the idea of changing Velvet's weapon to a grenade launcher feels real redundant since we have Nora already. If not for Velvet straight up copying other character's animations, then her weapon could've had a lot more potential, like comboing with the original user while using her own style of combat with the weapon, or even using weapons from people from other teams to combo with them. Say, if she copied Qrow's weird scythe and found a way to make it work while comboed with Ruby or Yang. Honestly I guess I just don't like the idea of her weapon being a grenade launcher.
Velvet's weapon should never ever change, it's too good. if it changes, i want her to create stuff from any kind of dust, such as Simon's jacket from Mark Zhang's Team SLVR trailer(s)

I actually quite like the darker themes you're adding in early on. Personally I've always found it a mistake on Rooster Teeth's end that they didn't introduce the darker elements till the very end of Volume 3-as 3 real world years had passed with very little hints of anything till then. I personally like darker stories but to go so long with everyone thinking it was a lighter story was rather irresponsible-little kids, less dark-story inclined viewers, casual watchers-to get invested in a story only for it to suddenly change so drastically can off-put a lot of people. I find it especially worse since Rooster Teeth's notice that the show was no longer PG was done in a 'Sorry! If a darker story was the goal they had to introduce those elements from the start or at the very least early on, no glossing things over till the Fall of Becan. You and Fatman's rewrite of the story has fixed a ton of those issues however, as well as plot-points and characters I initially disliked. Keep up the great work!

I think that removing fun moments and style stuff in favor of making the Grimm overall isn't really the best way to go about this. I think the Grimm just need to have a more defined ranking system. An example of how it could be done: Level 1: Newborn Grimm like the Beowulfs Ruby fights in her trailer. Strong enough that ordinary humans cannot do anything about them but someone with an unlocked aura could deal with one or two and someone talented or well trained like Ruby could fight a larger number. These exclusively travel in packs. They can only really threaten a real Huntsman through overwhelming with truly massive numbers or delaying them until something bigger shows up. Still these are arguably the most dangerous to humanity overall since they will be drawn to hunt down those who run from the attacks of older, more solitary Grimm. If not constantly dealt with, these are the Grimm that make settlements disappear over night. Level 2: Older and stronger Grimm like the Ursa Minor. These are Grimm that are a challenge for huntsman students individually and a nightmare if they are the kind that still move in packs. It is an impressive showing for a single student like Yang to take on 2-3 such Grimm alone, but in any larger numbers and even entire teams of huntsman students or a lone adult Huntsman, would need to focus on opening up a tactical retreat rather than trying to fight them all without a strategy. Level 3: Boss Grimm like the Nevermore and Ursa Major. These Grimm are each individually as dangerous as an entire pack of of Level 2 Grimm, with even proffessional huntsmen needing to aproach them strategically or in a group to ensure victory and students needing to do both to have a chance. Thankfully all Grimm at this level act alone and under normal conditions you would never have to deal with more than 1. Level 4: These are incredibly old and powerful Grimm that require an entire team of expirienced huntsmen acting strategically to have a chance. Thankfully these tend not to be as interested in humans, though every couple of years one does become a threat. This is the reason that the academies emphasize teaching teamwork and are considered the ultimate challenge that a huntsman might normally expect to face. Level 5+: These are truly ancient and powerful entities capable of threatening entire nations. The Huntsmen teams through history that have managed to deal with such threats have become immortalized as legends. Honestly there should be figures from such teams mentioned in the show. We don't need to explain all of this immediately, but the show and your rewrite provide plently of examples where people just mentioning the level of the Grimm would give the audience a general feel of the levels. Then we get to keep our cake and eat it too, as the existence of level 3-5 Grimm is an ominous presence that shows that the Grimm are a force to be feared, while also having level 1 and 2 Grimm that can be styled on to keep the really fun moments of combat.

I’m not sure if this version really fixed Volume 2. There were some times where it was better, and sometimes where it was worse, so it kind of evens out to just being as good as the original, not better. I didn’t like how you changed Velvet’s weapon to be a boring version of Nora’s. This is small, but I wish you included Jaune getting excited over Team SSSN becoming Junior Detectives. I also found it a bit jarring that Yang basically killed the Lieutenant. Not sure if you’re including the scene of Yang and Blake killing Adam, but Yang and Blake killing Adam feels more heavy in the original show because that is their first kill. I feel like Yang punching him into the ground would’ve been enough to immobilize him and arrest him. I am excited for Volume 3 though!
??? Yang are just okey with killing a man like that? Not even a look of sorrow? That it had to come to this or something like that from team rwby? Then they just got the lieutenant killed? I don’t imagen them beting used to sending people to their deaths even though it may seamed like it was the only way to defeat him ( he could had been just slamed into the ground and get arrested?right? Or am I mässing something?) don’t get me wrong I really liked how y handled the writhing of all of this, (I actually really love your rewrites on rwby and I really like your content☺️💕) but that just feelt velart qrong to me, but maybe I missed something or it Will come up later Idk, bye have a great day 😊👋🏽

LOL. That hesitancy about giving more characterization to characters you know are going to be tossed aside soon.
The bartering ram compartment is the Buster Sword from FF7? Lol
Celtic Phoenix
Are you going to fix volumes 6 , 7 and 8
Why no doggy cannon? It doesn't break anything in the setting or lore and is so fun.
Well she has a glock so it's not exactly impressive to have a spare mag lying around.
Thank you for letting zwei be funny and do something useful without the dog punt - I dunno I think it’s funnier when it’s not an adult punting a dog
Is that the halo theme
Velvet weapon is lame, give her the Control C back!

Just one question. WHERE'S THE RAVEN SCENE?!?!?
