I like the idea of Roman being alive and Oz's meat puppet. This works better than Oscar because Roman is someone the audience and the characters already know. Another point is that at the end of vol 3, Roman talks to Ruby about how the world isn't as simple as she think it is. No black and white. This works since Roman can show and teach the team how the world really operates.
And because Roman would actually resist Oz and try to stay himself as long as possible. I hope Phoenix read some “Roman is Oz’s next incarnation” fanfics for inspiration.
Celtic Pheonix: I'm gonna rewrite Volume 5 from the ground up. Oscar: So I get to be rewritten, right? C. Phoenix: *smiles just like teen Anakin* Oscar: So I get to be rewritten, right? *More concerningly*
Volume 5: "Oh? You're approaching me? Instead of running away, you're coming right to me?" Celtic Pheonix: "I can't beat the shit out of you without getting closer."
I'm very happy for y'all to finally see the original opening for Fixing RWBY Volume 5! JayJay and I spent a lot of late nights and early mornings getting it done, and of course it couldn't even exist without the work of Mollie Rhymemaster. This is a piece she originally created when she was 19, and she graciously allowed us to use it. Watch out for more of her music this volume! Also a big thank you for NOL, she just joined the Sketchy Huntsmen this year and she lent her lovely voice for the sponsorship section after the opening. You'll be seeing her art soon! Finally enjoy our ending! Done by JayJay, -cough cough- there might even be a little surprise for observant viewers~
1. I did not expect to see Junior or the twins again nor did I expect to find out how tragic their fates would be in the aftermath of the Fall. 2. Leo actually has a spine in the rewrite? I can't wait to see the next set of episodes.
Welp, Melanie looks like she’ll be taking Neo’s original role and with her lack of knowledge and insanity/split personality, she’ll become an easy puppet for Cinder. An interesting and affective use of a character who only appeared twice in the whole show.
@@andrewsung3965 And if you add new characters, it needs to serve the story to explain adding them or if old character doesn´t fit the role where character is needed and only if it is absolutely necessary.
@@Cooldude-ko7ps I agree, but I think there is a bit of a split personality given her use of us. Especially given how demented she is and the 50/50 look of her design now.
It was a pleasure to help redesign Mistral! The environments were probably the best bout of studies and practice I've had in a long time outside of class. :) I drew 18:32 - 19:18 , 19:37 - 19:52, 20:03 - 21:13, and 30:34 - 31:33 ! Though my favorite one is from 20:03 - 20:25 .
36:39 Honestly, I would've loved a mute joke where Yang went "How could you get us lost?" While Neo communicating to her, "I tried to tell you I didn't know where we were heading but you were too focus on the road." Yang: You could've spoken up Neo: *She just gives her a look pointing at her mouth* Yang:..... OH.... right. Sorry
No lie, that was debated, but by this time they’ve spent so much time together that Yang doesn’t forget Neo’s mute. They have a tactile system to convey info, though we never had a good way to explicitly show it, though you’ll be able to Intuit it later in the volume. Remember, comedy is nice, but don’t sacrifice character for it. If Yang isn’t regularly cognizant about Neo’s muteness by that point, she comes off like an asshole in the long run.
@@CelticPhoenix yeah you're right. Though I always thought of it like a Toph from Avatar thing where they spent enough time to get use to it but every once in a while it slips their mind. (Like when Katara held up that poster)
@@herodarkydark3995 the difference here I would argue is that they are cognizant that Toph can see in most circumstances but it's the edge cases like reading ink on paper or walking through a shifting desert where she struggles and it takes them a moment to recognize why that would be a problem. While on the other hand, Neo is always mute and outside of Sign language or an impromptu language they would have made, that doesn't simply disappear.
@@aaa1e2r3 Fair enough, though I would argue that it can still happen. I mean, I forget my name and age more times then I think I should but that's a me experience.
@@CelticPhoenix I just wanted to compliment you on your awesome ability to create a good story while staying on the general plot line. I can easily imagine that if RWBY gets a work over than the new crew will use your story to try to save it. I think the writers have forgotten about consistentcy and other such things that keep the story interesting and it might be because RWBY while still having some good scenes has devolved into a shipping/political kind of show. Well, the political part I heard from someone else's overview. I think that if the writers and animators take a break and think about what they are doing than they might be able to save the next 2 volumes.
My patience has paid off. Waited 8 hours for this. LET'S. GO... into what the product of mental horror and a circus of the OG V5. Now into something... digestible. Edit. Got another day to wait this through. Going to keep this open regardless until then.
Can't wait for The Roman/Neo reunion. If you commit to the battle of Haven as it SHOULD HAVE been, It'll be neat to see Roman/Neo fight alongside RWBY and co. And it must be said again, you give more love to the supporting characters than the writers of the main show ever have.
Honestly the idea of Roman being the one at risk of being subsumed into Ozpin sounds, kinda brilliant, think about it, Roman is based off the main character of "A Clockwork Orange", one of the motifs associated with Ozpin are gears, or clockwork. By becoming Ozpin's next host/incarnation, Roman is being run by clockwork. Also since some Rwby's characters are on some level, twists of the fairy tales they were based on (Red Riding Hood except she has to be the hunter who saves the day, Beauty and the Beast except the Beast succumbs to his worse aspects and Beauty ultimately has to put him down, Cinderella except the Fairy Godmother is evil and actually far worse to Cinderella/in general than the step mother ever could be). In the case of Roman, we have a villain who was brought to his lowest point and had clockwork put in, but it's potentially going to lead him down a better path, as opposed to the original character who never improved himself and was "broken out" of the clockwork, ultimately staying the same terrible person. Honestly I don't know what would be the better ending here narrative speaking, Roman's ego vanishing into Ozpin (presumably after a long character arc ending with him doing it willingly/reaching some level of peace with it) the character who began the series as the ultimate example of selfishness ending his journey with an act of pure selflessness, or him being freed of the Clockwork by Ozpin finally being freed of his immortality, but Roman always carrying the time they spent as part of each other.
Holy freaking hell. Got off a rough work shift and come home to see this in my Recommended. I am beyond ready. I’ve waited this long, I can get through one more day.
Five minutes in to the remake of this volume and I wish this was the actual story it really shows the difference in writing talent excellent job man keep it up
I’m beyond excited for this. This season has always been my least favorite, so seeing how you improve it makes me super hyped!!! I can’t wait to see what you do with RNJR and Blake storylines. The Weiss and Yang reunion showed also be a great to watch. And I’m really ready to see how you pull everything together! I’m ready for tomorrow!!!
it's a shame what happend to rwby after Monty's death. Nice to see fans like you still giving the show a chance to be something amazing. Monty would be proud
I honestly wish Monty was more interested in the story side. From my understanding he wasn’t as interested in writing out the story and left it mostly to the two main writers. What stinks is the few parts of dialogue or plot he personally wrote were stinking good and make me wish he at least wrote out a loose storyline of the big beats.
YAYYYYYYY, ITS HERE!!!!! First off, I got to hand it to the sketchy huntsmen this volume, everything looks great. The art has been incorporated so well, and really breathes new life into fixing rwby. Also the op?? I love so much. It looks and sounds great. Kudos to everyone who had a hand at it. Second, the character usage!!! One of the things that I love most about fixing rwby is that you use the characters. Instead of making one-off characters to use for only one fight scene, you give each character an actual personality and relevance to the plot. And my god, it’s been only the first 4 episodes and it feels like you’ve used that characters better then the entirety of volume 5 proper. Love it. Third, the characters themselves!! You have consistent and understandable growth for all the characters and I love your presentation of that. A great example of this is Ruby. She isn’t set as the comic relief that much anymore and from that, gives the impression that she is much more serious and mature the she was in season 1. Nora on the other hand, is still comic relief, but it works because that isn’t something that she needs to change, rather it really emphasizes her ability to look on the bright side and make things easier to handle. Other things, like Weiss wanting to save people and fighting ability, Yang and Neo’s partnership and Blake desire to help and do something more is great and really adds to everything. 3 actual questions though, first the outline for the oz house only had two bedrooms. Is that actually the case or was that just one floor? Second you mentioned (in the previous fixing rwby season) that Team RNJR would have there own story, one separate from Roman. Assuming Roman is with Qrow, does that mean there is a new problem coming that they are going to be wrapped up in or are they gonna work with Qrow while Roman does his own thing. I don’t know, but I’ll probably find out soon. Third, how many episodes? You never said. Super excited for this season!! I have been looking forward to this for forever and I am truly ready for everything that you bring to the table. As long as it’s something cohesive and story actually happens, I’ll enjoy it. See you whenever!!!!
I totally forgot that you started to create intros for your volumes starting in Volume 5! It looked so good! I wish it would have stayed in each of the videos like you did in Volume 6.
After watching this first, then going back to catch up on the other fixed volumes, I'm now deeply invested and can't wait for the future ones. I'd especially love to see Volume 6: The Brunswick Farm arc, considering Roman's addition to the group.
I absolutely love the idea of Ozpin ending up in Roman's mind. The dynamic between these two certainly feels much more compeling than Oz and Oscar's, since Roman is already an established character and an unruly one at that that could present a challenge for Oz when it comes to trying and get the guy to cooperate, and Roman isn't exactly the type to get pushed around, even by a thousand-year-old man's conscience starting to live in his head like it's free real estate. Another thing that I couldn't help but notice is that, now that Oscar is out of the story and Roman is back and has taken his place as the meat suit, the story has diverged heavily from the original canon. Since the point of the rewrite was to tell a more cohesive story while changing as little as possible, wouldn't this change veer the rewrite to a full-on canon-divergence or even an alternate universe? As Fixing RWBY has progressed, the story has been diverging more and more from the canon, that much was staring to be noticeable during the rewrite of volume 4 and now in volume 5 with Roman's addition to the main cast as Oz's meat suit, the change is a very significant one when you consider that in canon he's dead for good. (that be like if Pyhrra suddenly came back, the story simply wouldn't be the same as she had significance to the original story with the maiden thing and Jaune himself.) What I mean is, as of this volume, this story is starting to feel less like a rewrite of some specific aspects of the show to make them work better and more like a completely new take on the original canon as a whole, to the point where I don't think it can't still be said that this is making certain "fixes" to the story as much as it is completely ovehauling it. Why not just classify the story as a whole thing of it's own instead of it being a "fix" of the original? With how much the project has now grown in the form of artists and musicians, I think classyfing this story as a "fix" feels like a disservice to itself as it has now evolved well past that term. tl,dr; Why still keep calling it "Fixing RWBY" when the story has now diverged so much from the original show? (Hope this makes sense and doesn't come across as pure rambling lol;; I really do like the changes you've made to the story and characters, specially Roman :D)
With the writing getting worse, isn't it inevitable that anyone fixing the story would have to make larger canon divergences? Sure a person could make less changes, but would it still be able to be a rewrite that the person making it and the audience consider good? You can cover a dumpster in a new coat of paint but it'll still be a dumpster. So long as the larger plot points and character personalities stay the same/very similar, I think it's still a rewrite. Not to mention it's been called the RWBY Rewrite for a few years now and would be strange to change the name of the series
I've enjoyed the emotional punches and the honest attempts to show some levity midst the despair and strife. The various gags put a smile on my face and I'm happy just to see you make progress and do so in stride
I love the opening animation! Sounds like something you’d hear in nier automata. I hope you do Raven more justice then the show did. I mean the talk with her and Yang in the vault was half good(except for yang acting like she knew Raven her whole life and talking about Salem like she knows how big of a threat she is even though she’s never actually met her and only knew about her recently) but the angst from from yang towards her just made her look too gung-ho with everything. Especially after the revolution in volume 6.
O yes, after seeing this had go back review Celtic Phoenix fixing Ruby Volume 4 to freshen up what happened. Still get chills about the ending, Torchwick and, Oz can't wait to hear the explanation! 👍
Here I am trying to come up with my own version of RWBY and then I stumbled upon your channel and got instantly hooked. Your version is much different and actually has more sense and reasoning behind it. Roman is the perfect host and how you got characters that we haven't seen in a long time involved is AWESOME. Seriously, I can't do what you did because trying to come up with something else is hard. I'll keep trying though and in the mean time, I'll be looking forward for more of this Fixing RWBY series.
I would say excellent as always but this is such a cut above the last time we saw Fixing RWBY, thanks for all the effort, time presumably money you've poured into this project.
Oh boy I can’t wait for this to come! I’ve been a fan of this CP/RWBY Series for years now and I’ve loved everything about this! I’ve watch the original series and the first three volumes were good and entertaining but the later volumes started to degrade in quality for sometime now that I no longer Watch the series itself but reviews from like Eruption Fang who’s Awesome, It’s disappointing how now I’m just watching RWBY by secondhand, it’s a good good concept for a show but with the pacing, writing, along with just a total disrespect for certain characters, cough “Adam” “Taurus” cough So seeing you fix RWBY with so much efforts is Awesome to see, I’m glad there’s people who’s trying to make this a better show for people who genuinely love RWBY and want to see it’s potential show, That’s why I’ve been following this Channel for quite some time now, perhaps more than two years? I don’t know I don’t track of this but it’s still the best I’ve seen when it comes to fixing RWBY, Celtic Phoenix deserve all the LOVE! He gets from his fans & supporters, One thing I’m looking forward to seeing a hypothetical sister fight between Ruby & Yang, Something like this video explains it best (ruclips.net/video/ZA7Clb0PSZE/видео.html) It would be an very emotional fight scene to witness, it’s something I always wanted to see for myself, besides that one thing there’s nothing else I want from you besides continuing this Fixing RWBY series, Thanks for reading my comment! Your Awesome!❤️
So excited for this! Let's go!!!! • "We may have had to make some severe changes to how this volume works." Good. • While I do think Roman's death served a purpose in the original, I do think his inclusion will be fun and I can't wait to see where you go with it. • The encounter with Melanie was pretty entertaining. • The new opening looks GORGEOUS. I love the water effects and the combination of all the petals. • Mistral looks way too beautiful! You guys put so much effort into this! • I honestly think it would have worked better if we didn't find out Leo was a traitor until we see the W on his desk. That's more a critique for the OG, but I hope you don't stick to Leo's OG parts too closely and make him an actual character this time around. • Glad you're having RNJR do more than just sit around looking bored. • Love the redesign of the airship and Weiss' design is still my favorite. • No idea where Blake's storyline is going, but I'm interested. I can just hear the cries of nepotism from that announcement. • Hoping you do Yang's PTSD better this time around. • The RNJR and Roman scene was gold. • Weiss' fight scene, like everything else, looked gorgeous. Overall, I'm really impressed with this! Everyone did an amazing job and I can't wait to see the rest.
Holyshit that opening was badass, wish we had like a metal guitar at the end of it tho You should talk to Cake Station about animation scenes. It doesn't have to be much but he does have a cool way of showing Monty's style in his animations, even tho we would only get like 15 seconds of it I'd be happy with just that
@@SuperPianogirl123 yeah but it would be worth it if it did happen, it's more like wishful thinking, speaking out loud. If it did happen then it would be awesome right?
Volume 5 could have easily been the best season of RWBY but the writers still found a way to mess it up ! I love this series of yours I’ve watch all of it at least twice !
Oh boy. I was just thinking about this the other day. Raymond will probably release these weekly by 4s and have 12 ep so I'll binge everything in September.
I would love to see Ren's storm flower get an upgrade that allows it to become a sword specially a hook sword or a Jian that replaces the grappling hook function that was given to him in the atlas arc.
I have been vocal of my criticisms of the fixing RWBY series before (where I believed it was warranted), but so far I have none. Perhaps some combat action in the 1st episode (maybe between Roman and the knights) in true RWBY tradition, but other than that nothing comes to mind. EDIT: Oops, nevermind, forgot about the Melany/Melcha fight with Roman.
i've tried playing the houseki no kuni opening on top of the fan-made one for this rewrite, and it's work pretty well ! both of those opening are really pretty
Episode 1 of Volume 5 made me drop RWBY when it came out. I'm really excited to watch this. I've been binging this series for the last week and it's made me feel pretty good about my own process (trying to write/create a massive project myself lol). Just wanted to thank you for making these ideas engaging again! i'm pretty hype honestly xD
I summon the Obnoxious Celtic Editor, in attack mode! Celtic Phoenix: "I'm so- holy crap! This volume's an unbearable slog!" (read, read, cut, cut, rinse, rinse, repeat) Well, I'm enjoying what you've managed to put together so far.
I really can't argue with your intro because Volume 5 is what made me drop the show for the first time. It took the Apathy to bring me back, and I still haven't watched the last couple of Volume 5 episodes. I won't ever, I think, since I dropped the show again after Volume 7.
Edited comment: Holy fuck I just saw the time, this is almost an hour long. Okay. Seriously man,my respects for doing this. Volume 5 is... Something. *Now my thoughts!* _Episode One_ First of all,I LOVE ROMAN SO MUCH. Even if I never disliked Oscar, the change feels nice,Roman had tons of potential and I'm glad it's getting exploited here in such an interesting way. Ozpin and Roman is definitely quite a dynamic I'll enjoy. Oh,and his outfit it's amazing,he looks good in green. Neo being his only priority is cute too. Junior? Truly another pleasant surprise! Good to see the dynamic with Roman being used, since they do know each other. Seriously. The genuine love Roman has for Neo,the way it was made so obvious and it probably connects to his trauma. I'm already begging for them to find each other! _Opening_ I'm just really surprised!! And it's good! So good!! The models, the music. Everything showing how this is a very distinct story even if at its core, this is exploring everything OG RWBY sadly didn't. Oh and the Japanese part made me laugh lol _Episode Two_ Mistral is so pretty!! Will it be explored more? I don't return to Volume 5 at all,but I remember them staying at the house and not really looking around such a beautiful place. Leo! Forgot he existed. I hope he'll do SOMETHING significant this time,I don't feel the show proper did enough. I like the conversation between him and Qrow (and RNJR),it's very well thought out. So,Raven is still the Spring Maiden? The detail about her having a fake maiden wasn't so bad,it's like royalty having a replacement so they don't get... Y'know, killed. OH HEY MEMBERS OF TEAM SSSN! THEY'LL DO SOMETHING!! These bits with actually 3d models showing a bit of an example of what it looks like are marvelous, very well made, the designs work perfectly! At least in model. We won't think about animation too much here anyway. "Red?" and I'm here doing Zuko jokes. _Episode Three_ Weiss! God I adore her new design the most. And Blake too! That uniform looks awesome on her. OH SUN IS USING SOMETHING ELSE,I LOVE IT! Yang and Neo dynamic gives me life! It's sweet how there's still a bit of tension but it became friendly tension,y'know? The interrogation bit makes sense. And I'm sorry but I just adore these uniforms they look so good. OH AND KALI WILL BE WHAT _Episode Four_ Here we go. Direct eye contact between RNJR and Roman lol. Poor Roman didn't even want to be here and now has to fight feral kids ready to break his legs. Thanks Qrow you're very useful when drunk. And you can't convince me Qrow wasn't at least a tiny bit into being tied up,I can't make kink jokes cause we're both adults. He's into it. Oh,a nice explanation on Ozpin's reincarnation power thing. It never really seemed to make that much sense in Canon, yet again,I don't return to these Volumes that often. I imagine the fight and I adore it. And Nevermore summon! Awesome!! Aaaaand Raven!! She's here! _End_ OOOOOH ALL OF THIS IS SO GOOD!! The wait was absolutely worth it,and I'll happily wait for next part! Oh,and the end card is cute.
I want an Oscar cameo like him being a atlesian recruit with the personality of gatekeeper from FE three houses for compensation for replacing his role to Torchwick.
I enjoyed how you integrated Torchwick so far. Also the Clockwork Orange inspiration has come full circle. I do wonder how the gang gets Torchwick to even step foot into his old home unless he's in a bit if muse, mabye Qrow knocks him out cold and he only wakes up once there already at the farm and has a panic attack. Eagerly waiting for more.
I love the relationship between Roman and Neo here, it's really sweet and a fun dynamic. Also, glad to have Roman back and given more of a part in the series after being criminally underutilized (pun intended).
me: "why do I hear boss music" *fixing rwby volume 5 appears in recomended* me: "ohoho lets fuckin GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
Wow I love how this volume is coming together so far! Also huge shootout to the Sketchy Huntsmen for all their amazing work!! I remember when Celtic was joking about how difficult it would be to have his own opening sequence and here we are! I love the idea of bringing Roman back as the next Oz, but tbh I was kind of looking forward to see someone actually address Oscar well. Like every time he got shoved around in the main show, no one pointed out they were beating up an innocent kid. And we never really saw Oscar dealing with the idea of slowly losing his own identity and autonomy to a collective. Final sidenote, Celtic your Qrow impression is amazing lol.
When you finally get to Atlas proper in 7 and 8...give them some teeth. That heavy lift airship is good. But give it guns. Make it the Remnant version of the AC-130. Bonus points if the Battle of Atlas rolls out with a dozen of those things coming in, Angels of Death style, popping flares the whole way.
I really like the idea of Wiess fighting in the airship like this. In terms of design, the way Weiss’ fighting style works reminds me a lot of how Monty would use Rinoa in his Dead Fantasy series. He started work on RWBY before he finished it, but there were clips of a planned fight where Rinoa would use magic to fight a bunch of fighter jets in the air. Would have been so cool to actually see….
Speaking of Rinoa, the opening sequence you guys created also reminds me a lot of Final Fantasy 8. Was that intentional, given that game already feels pretty similar to RWBY anyway, or was it a coincidence?
I hadn't even considered the opening of FF8, though we do reference back to FF8 a lot since it was such a central inspiration to RWBY. Interesting how the mirrors have cropped up without us realizing it.
This was a good way to go into volume 5. I have one small grip about malatrie or however you spell her name. The twin that wears white. Wouldn't the soldiers hear her scream or hear the chase? To me at the very least you made it sound like they where close by.
Rewatching to remind myself what happened, and I don't think ill ever get over how much I love the new Mistral. Theres so much detail that goes into the worldbuilding in this series, and I love all of it. Also just realized that mistral was made this way because its a natural defense from both grimm and invaders. Nice!
Finally! The true RWBY series that I've been waiting for! XD With how you and your team had progressed with V5's fixes, especially with the meticulous amount of effort with the larger script, I'm really curious to see how you'd carry this series onwards. V5 was a great opportunity to explore the parts of Anima and Mistral, So I'm thinking that It'd require A LOT more chapters than the original to accomplish the task, not to mention bringing the casts together since Blake was still far from reuniting with her team in the earlier half. Then again, her reuniting in the final battle kinda felt too crampy for my taste. I'm also curious as to how this would carry on towards the "conflict" on V6 later on. And yes, I used the quote-unquote because it felt more like a bunch of petulant children whining and one-sidedly ostracizing a millenia-old traumatized old man. There was no real conflict nor divide from the group. It would've made sense if one side wanted to leave Ozpin and the other still wanting to follow him because he's basically an asset for their quest to defeat Salem. What's worse is that they got away with it. Perhaps with Roman on the tow, he could be the one to teach everyone the hard lesson of following an inevitable obligation that he must carry himself. Plus, having the Huntsmen in training being lectured by a former crime lord would hit really hard. :P
Love it! Thank you for helping Roman. I personally don't even think he's dead, I think he has a survivor's semblence, one he can't control and that automatically activates when he's in danger. I think he's hiding out in Vacuo.
You have EARNED my sub, cause I feel like while everyone knows the flaws rwby has youve been the first ive seen to actually present those fixes in a story type fashion!
"I swear, it'd be easier to talk with these people if they were mute."
*cut to Yang and Neo*
I see what you did there! XD
And both use canes, so easy transition enough.
@@skyrogue1977 A definite plus where you can make it believable that Roman can stand up to Huntsman with 'training' from Ozpin (unlike Oscar).
Best idea of that is NOT to kill Roman in the first place. He was to decent of a character to be rid off the show.
I for one actually still like Oscar being Ozpin’s reincarnation because I like his character and for “Rose Garden”
Celtic Pheonix: I'm gonna rewrite Volume 5 from the ground up.
Oscar: So I get to be rewritten, right?
C. Phoenix: *smiles just like teen Anakin*
Oscar: So I get to be rewritten, right? *More concerningly*
When Cinder sees Torchwick again: "A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one"... before being knocked by the cane.
Volume 5: "Oh? You're approaching me? Instead of running away, you're coming right to me?"
Celtic Pheonix: "I can't beat the shit out of you without getting closer."
4:20 his hat flying away also explains why Neo would think he’s dead. She might even have the remnants of his cane too.

Fantastic work thank you for the great effort you and the sketchy huntsmen have done already
It’s a beautiful opening! It reminds me a lot of Final Fantasy 8
1. I did not expect to see Junior or the twins again nor did I expect to find out how tragic their fates would be in the aftermath of the Fall.
2. Leo actually has a spine in the rewrite?
I can't wait to see the next set of episodes.
The "fixed" mistral looks better than canon.
Thank you.
That's the meaning of "fixing" I guess
Welp, Melanie looks like she’ll be taking Neo’s original role and with her lack of knowledge and insanity/split personality, she’ll become an easy puppet for Cinder. An interesting and affective use of a character who only appeared twice in the whole show.
Indeed
Yes, better to use characters that we already know and only made two appearances than make a new character that we do not know.
@@andrewsung3965 And if you add new characters, it needs to serve the story to explain adding them or if old character doesn´t fit the role where character is needed and only if it is absolutely necessary.
Split personality? Seems like hallucinations to me
@@Cooldude-ko7ps I agree, but I think there is a bit of a split personality given her use of us. Especially given how demented she is and the 50/50 look of her design now.
I must admit, how its written, I can see Roman being a reincarnation working. You did an amazing job on it.
It was a pleasure to help redesign Mistral! The environments were probably the best bout of studies and practice I've had in a long time outside of class. :)
I drew 18:32 - 19:18 , 19:37 - 19:52, 20:03 - 21:13, and 30:34 - 31:33 ! Though my favorite one is from 20:03 - 20:25 .
You did a really good job!

Nice
Incredible work Floof. I expected nothing else.
@@kaikaproductions Thanks Nol! I'm excited to see your pieces in the upcoming episodes too. :)
The image of Nora trying to smash a chair over Roman's head is now stuck in my head
36:39
Honestly, I would've loved a mute joke where Yang went
"How could you get us lost?"
While Neo communicating to her, "I tried to tell you I didn't know where we were heading but you were too focus on the road."
Yang: You could've spoken up
Neo: *She just gives her a look pointing at her mouth*
Yang:..... OH.... right.
Roman being Opzin's next reincarnation is such a good idea!
Finally, Weiss is actually using her Semblance like she did in the first Team RWBY fight not being a D&D mage with timers and turns
I almost forgot this existed, MEANING IT'S TIME TO BINGE!!!
I never would've considered Roman as the Oz reincarnation but in hindsight it works SO well! Can't wait to see where this goes!
Also the whole bickering dynamic is always fun
You too!?
Gira 40:48: I recognize the counsel has mad a decision, but given that it's a stupid-ass decision I have elected to ignore it.
My hat off to sketchy Huntsmen and, too all those working on fixing RWBY.

Basically, Weiss is the "A" in "AC-130".
Five minutes in to the remake of this volume and I wish this was the actual story it really shows the difference in writing talent excellent job man keep it up
The story! The world actually existing! THE ART!!! And these are only the first four episodes, oh my god
This has made my day. I’m stupid excited to see what you bring to the table. High hopes for tomorrow
it's a shame what happend to rwby after Monty's death. Nice to see fans like you still giving the show a chance to be something amazing. Monty would be proud
I'm just waiting for the day we can buy and fix the IP via a crowdfund project. You have my 100$ right now.
@@ladygrey4113 what scenes were those?
@@TJCID22 I think you can decrease that. Give it a few more volumes and we can buy it for a cup of coffee
This series made quarentine bearable, I was so hyped for this
Love the getting over it ending theme with the shot of ruby in a field of flowers outside of the city
That floor layout shown in the video is just for the first floor! There is a second floor with additional bedrooms, as well as a basement.
i like the repeating gag of beowolves going "arf!"
41:05 Suns face is hilarious!! 🤣🤣🤣
(that be like if Pyhrra suddenly came back, the story simply wouldn't be the same as she had significance to the original story with the maiden thing and Jaune himself.)
What I mean is, as of this volume, this story is starting to feel less like a rewrite of some specific aspects of the show to make them work better and more like a completely new take on the original canon as a whole, to the point where I don't think it can't still be said that this is making certain "fixes" to the story as much as it is completely ovehauling it.
36:20 Perfect writting right here, cutting to the Neo who's a mute is just brilliant
Having Ozpin go into Roman is a stroke of Genius

Here I am trying to come up with my own version of RWBY and then I stumbled upon your channel and got instantly hooked. Your version is much different and actually has more sense and reasoning behind it. Roman is the perfect host and how you got characters that we haven't seen in a long time involved is AWESOME. Seriously, I can't do what you did because trying to come up with something else is hard. I'll keep trying though and in the mean time, I'll be looking forward for more of this Fixing RWBY series.
My excitement CANNOT BE CONTAINED!!!
The intro was awesome, also I love how you actually make the characters feel like characters instead of largely just kind being “there”.
I would say excellent as always but this is such a cut above the last time we saw Fixing RWBY, thanks for all the effort, time presumably money you've poured into this project.
Oscar: How could thus happen to me? I made my mistake. Got no where to run. The night goes oooonnnn~
Oh boy I can’t wait for this to come!
I’ve been a fan of this CP/RWBY Series for years now and I’ve loved everything about this!
I’ve watch the original series and the first three volumes were good and entertaining but the later volumes started to degrade in quality for sometime now that I no longer Watch the series itself but reviews from like Eruption Fang who’s Awesome,
It’s disappointing how now I’m just watching RWBY by secondhand, it’s a good good concept for a show but with the pacing, writing, along with just a total disrespect for certain characters, cough “Adam” “Taurus” cough
So seeing you fix RWBY with so much efforts is Awesome to see, I’m glad there’s people who’s trying to make this a better show for people who genuinely love RWBY and want to see it’s potential show,
That’s why I’ve been following this Channel for quite some time now, perhaps more than two years? I don’t know I don’t track of this but it’s still the best I’ve seen when it comes to fixing RWBY, Celtic Phoenix deserve all the LOVE! He gets from his fans & supporters,
One thing I’m looking forward to seeing a hypothetical sister fight between Ruby & Yang,
Something like this video explains it best
(ruclips.net/video/ZA7Clb0PSZE/видео.html)
It would be an very emotional fight scene to witness, it’s something I always wanted to see for myself, besides that one thing there’s nothing else I want from you besides continuing this Fixing RWBY series,
Thanks for reading my comment!
Your Awesome!❤️
Ozpin taking over roman is a stroke of genius
I loved how the other characters are added into the story without them being mentioned out of context and it naturally flows without it be forced.
Holyshit that opening was badass, wish we had like a metal guitar at the end of it tho
You should talk to Cake Station about animation scenes. It doesn't have to be much but he does have a cool way of showing Monty's style in his animations, even tho we would only get like 15 seconds of it I'd be happy with just that
I think animations would be a bit more difficult to obtain and would probably set things back both financially and temporally
@@SuperPianogirl123 yeah but it would be worth it if it did happen, it's more like wishful thinking, speaking out loud.
If it did happen then it would be awesome right?
Get this man a budget
Volume 5 could have easily been the best season of RWBY but the writers still found a way to mess it up ! I love this series of yours I’ve watch all of it at least twice !
Oh boy. I was just thinking about this the other day. Raymond will probably release these weekly by 4s and have 12 ep so I'll binge everything in September.
I wonder what makes you think he'll be releasing these on a weekly basis? xD
I wonder what makes you think there'll only be 12 episodes total? xD
Wait there 12 episode?!!! XD
One thing I really miss about this rewrite is the characterization for Emerald, Mercury, and Cinder grated by hopping over to Salem’s castle.
I would love to see Ren's storm flower get an upgrade that allows it to become a sword specially a hook sword or a Jian that replaces the grappling hook function that was given to him in the atlas arc.
Hey Floof if you’re reading this you’re fucking art has come such a long way :)
I am indeed reading this, thank you so much! >w
I don’t understand half of this stuff I’m here for the ride
The quality of this series video representation jumped from a 20 to a 70, and the story twists have been great keep it up!
Proper Side character representation let's fucking go
edit: this is now the fourth time i have watched this video in full HELP-
I really LOVE your birdy VTuber idea, it works really well, looking forward to your Volume 5 episodes!
i've tried playing the houseki no kuni opening on top of the fan-made one for this rewrite, and it's work pretty well ! both of those opening are really pretty
As the OP animator... that's a fantastic alternate song and really lines up well, good choice and thanks for the compliment
they are quite pretty together, nice find! It really enhances the dream-like, unreality we were trying to go for in this opening
This volume's an unbearable slog!" (read, read, cut, cut, rinse, rinse, repeat)
Well, I'm enjoying what you've managed to put together so far.
The two twins did the fusion dance 💃 🕺
The claws plus the winged boots
A cyclone a capoeira and death
That intro was beautiful.
Omg thank you mixed coffee really help me get it good and molly's music was fantastic. I'm just glad you liked the intro
I am not far enough into everything to know the consequences but all hail cop cat mom
I really can't argue with your intro because Volume 5 is what made me drop the show for the first time. It took the Apathy to bring me back, and I still haven't watched the last couple of Volume 5 episodes. I won't ever, I think, since I dropped the show again after Volume 7.
Edited comment:
Holy fuck I just saw the time, this is almost an hour long. Okay.
Seriously man,my respects for doing this. Volume 5 is... Something.
*Now my thoughts!*
_Episode One_
First of all,I LOVE ROMAN SO MUCH.
_Opening_
I'm just really surprised!! And it's good! So good!! The models, the music. Everything showing how this is a very distinct story even if at its core, this is exploring everything OG RWBY sadly didn't.
Oh and the Japanese part made me laugh lol
_Episode Two_
Mistral is so pretty!!
_Episode Three_
Weiss!
OH AND KALI WILL BE WHAT
_Episode Four_
Here we go.
She's here!
_End_
OOOOOH ALL OF THIS IS SO GOOD!! The wait was absolutely worth it,and I'll happily wait for next part!
Oh,and the end card is cute.
Man I'm just happy my boi Roman is back in town. I don't think it's a coincidence that the show went down the shitter shortly after he died
According to RT, he was supposed to die in V2, but people liked him enough they gave him a "better ending" in 3.
I want an Oscar cameo like him being a atlesian recruit with the personality of gatekeeper from FE three houses for compensation for replacing his role to Torchwick.
Only part 1 and its already 1000 times better then the real thing
I 99% agree. I want Oscar to show up in this though...
Loved working on this project with everyone, all the artwork turned out great!
Thank you thank you thank you!!! I love your RWBY videos, your storytelling made me not hate this show.
You are (and all the guys helping) awesome!!!
I love the relationship between Roman and Neo here, it's really sweet and a fun dynamic. Also, glad to have Roman back and given more of a part in the series after being criminally underutilized (pun intended).
me: "why do I hear boss music"
*fixing rwby volume 5 appears in recomended*
me: "ohoho lets fuckin GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
You're a great man, Phoenix. Thank you for making me love RWBY again.
NOT A DRILL NOT A DRILL, ITS HERE
I really like the idea of Wiess fighting in the airship like this.
As the person who pitched then created the airship scene... I can't tell you how rewarding it is and complementy you saying that is.
Speaking of Rinoa, the opening sequence you guys created also reminds me a lot of Final Fantasy 8. Was that intentional, given that game already feels pretty similar to RWBY anyway, or was it a coincidence?
@@olivegem6853 not intentional, more just placing the characters how we felt would be best... good to know it sturs some interesting conversations
I hadn't even considered the opening of FF8, though we do reference back to FF8 a lot since it was such a central inspiration to RWBY. Interesting how the mirrors have cropped up without us realizing it.
Time to listen the last volume and prepare some snacks
XD
With how you and your team had progressed with V5's fixes, especially with the meticulous amount of effort with the larger script, I'm really curious to see how you'd carry this series onwards.
Thats a good idea,
So they are not gonna do it.
Ep 1: Outta state, Outta mind, Ep 2: Welcome to Mistral(with open bar), Ep 3: Big News Menagerie, Ep 4: Faces old and new.
47:45 seems like flak rounds would be most effective against these lancers
I’m really excited for this.
Damn. The production quality went up 10 fold.
You have EARNED my sub, cause I feel like while everyone knows the flaws rwby has youve been the first ive seen to actually present those fixes in a story type fashion!
17:59 Vernal got a redesign
Nice
You guys have outdone yourselves
This has healed my soul.
