Dude, you put the final pieces together for my core. 2 months after buying the pedal I was still so disappointed with it I began to question my whole purchase. Ran without the pedal for a month. So much happier now. Learning curve isn't bad at all. Now I think I need a second pedal ha ha......Back to happy with Boss Core and Roland EV-5 pedal. Thanks
That’s a very similar story to me. 3 buttons just isn’t enough. But I’m really happy with mine now. I’ve added a tonne of other pedals, but totally worth it.
Nice! Only issue I’m having is that I cannot figure out how to assign EXP 2 in the core. I have both EXP 1 and 2 jacks from the EV30 going into EXP 1 and EXP2 on the core. I have the Wah assigned to EXP 1, and wanted to assign EXP 2 to Pedal Bend, but I cannot find a way to do that. It seems only one trigger button can be assigned to the pedal, so I can’t figure out how to use EXP 2 with the core.
I think I have an answer for you. Only use one EXP input, assign that to Pedal FX, and assign one of your buttons to turn it on and off. Then assign another button to toggle between Wah and Pedal Bend. Boom! Works like a charm.
@@DaveWebbMusic Thanks! Not sure why there are two EXP jacks on the pedal if you only need to use one. Guess that’s where I got messed up. I was experimenting a little, trying to figure out how to use only one toggle switch, since there are so few available on the Core. I figured out if I leave the pedal FX on by default for every patch, then I only need one toggle switch to flip between wah and pedal bend. I lose out on the volume pedal doing that, but I can always use the volume on my guitar or have a separate patch with a different setting if a need a song with volume swells. Thanks again!
Yeah I don’t think it’s gonna work with only one button. For example, if you were toggling between wag and pedal band, one of those would always be on. With the GT1000Core you have so many assign options so you don’t need both. If you were to use the expression pedal with 2 individual pedals, such as delay and tremolo, you could adjust the delays decay time and tremolo rate at the same time. Hope you figure our a way that works for you. 🤘🏼
@@DaveWebbMusic Ok, well I set it up that way last night and have been using it, and it seems to work. I have the pedal on at all times (just as wah and bend, not volume) I have one of the 5 small knobs by the screen set to toggle the pedal type between wah and pedal bend. It is in pedal bend by default, and I toggle it to wah when needed. The pedal is left at the minimum position at all times when not using it, so it does not affect my normal sound. Then when I want a bend I use the pedal and it’s always ready, and when I want a wah, I tap the button first. So far so good. Only drawback is you have to make sure the pedal is always at minimum position when not used so it doesn’t alter your tone, but that’s not a big deal for me so far. I also set it to slow sweep, so it doesn’t really start changing tone until you get it up to around 15-20% or more.
Ah yeah that’s smart! Of course it wouldn’t affect it when set at minimum. Honestly didn’t even cross my mind haha Sounds like it’s totally workable! Good job man. Happy jammin.
Hey Dave. Great video as usual Can you answer a question about outputs. I want to run one output to FOH and one to a back line amp visa the amp return. It’s just for stage volume and a “just in case” scenario. I know it’s possible with the Hx stomp but is it possible with the Gt1000 core? I’d like to bypass the cabinet for the amp output and have the cabinet on for the FOH. Hopefully makes sense.
Oh geez.. I have no idea. I know you can run a 4 cable method using the send/return on GT1000 Core, but I’ve not even tried that myself. As for separating them, I really don’t know. Sorry mate.
How do you set it up to control gain within a patch? Toe up is your overdrive/crunch sound at 60 & as you toe down it's increased to say... 90ish. No additional drive pedals needed; same sound just *more* of it. I used to run my BOSS IR 200 this way but can't figure out how to get the GT Core to operate that way.
On the GT-1000 the expression is built with a button. So yes, 100% you can. For the Core you would need to buy an expression that has a button built in.
@@DaveWebbMusic thanks Dave! I guess I should have specifically asked HOW do you assign the expression pedal to click on and off like a jim dunlop? I do have the GT-1000 with the built in pedal
Hey mate, turns out I already have a video about the expression. ruclips.net/video/xjkvDFXqXRw/видео.htmlsi=O6EDUeO-6gNkodt9 jump to about 4min, it’s been broken up into sections so you’ll find it easy. 🤘🏼
I have the GT1000 Core. When the expression pedal is 100% in the forward position, I want the WAH to be off. When the pedal position is any other position, I want the WAH to be on. Have you had any experience with that? Any recommendations?
I’m actually not sure. From my understand though, impedance doesn’t matter with an expression pedal as it is only controlling parameters within and doesn’t pass audio.

Hi. Yes its possible. Thats my setup. L or R main outs to FOH, Send / Sub Outs to amp return. Just make sure to turn off the cab sims on the sub outs.
Fuckin' awesome!
Waiting for your video with the GT-1000 and the Silver Jub!!!
Cheers from Portugal 🤘🍺🇵🇹
