Alex... thank you for taking the time to do this. I am seriously considering this pedal and your demo and review are so helpful. I really enjoyed the song. The tones are quite impressive.
I'm really interested in this new pedal because I had other boss' processors in the past and they were great. But this is the third demo I watch and, apart from the amazing way Alex explains and demoes the unit, it's most of it about weird hyper-processed, almost science fiction tones. Boss did it very well with the Katana by showing they can do very good amps (and cheap) and for sure this new GT can do the same as the technology behind it must be the same. I would've liked to hear some raw plexis, tweeds, dumbles... Anyway, thank you very much Alex for doing good videos that are nice to watch.
Another great review from one of the humblest and world top notch guitarist we have .. Thanks Boss for making such power in such small unit and to you Alex giving us a reason to practice, play and enjoy great skills from your presentation
Hi Alex, fantastic demo ! I tried out one of these boss gt1000 core models today at my local guitar shop. I'm really impressed with it! The clean tones are wonderful and I was very impressed by he high gain presets! 😊 I love that you can achieve such high quality effects and tones at a reaosnable price! I have been really disheartened by units like Quad Cortex. Maybe when I'm working as a guitarist I'll be able to afford more fancy gear. Then again, this one feels much easier to use than the Pod Go I used! I think Boss make really high quality pedals. Anyway , watching this demo is brilliant for me because I'll be able to explore the pedal more when i return to the guitar shop. I'm not sure.yet if i will buy it. I’ve been looking for the perfect multi fx unit and after trying it a few more times, I'll be able to make a decision Absolutely blown away by your demo and your own unique style of guitar playing inspires me a lot. Are you experiencing the same limitation on stage. Its no fun switching into an unexpected patch in the middle of a song. Think its possible to assign one controller switch to enter manual mode?
Hey Monty Alex here, Glad you enjoyed the jam, sorry to hear of your frustration, I'm not with my pedal right now but I'm 99% sure you can assign manual mode to the Ctl pedal... Hey Alex! nice review! Can you make a Video about the routing? I'm thinking on buying one of these, but my aim is to run drive effects and delay in my tube head and run a separate line with all effects and amp/cab into the PA or my ears. Information on these units is quite rare so far... Keep up the work!
Hey mate, I see what you're trying to do... I'm currently working on some other projects right now but I'm sure it's doable... For example you could send the phones output to your ears and use the mono out for the amp? Just my initial thoughts mate. Cheers for now and all the best
Very cool performance piece but I don't quite get how you were able to stomp in more than presets since there are only three switches on there. Also, I'd like to know if those patches you used were default by Boss, or if you edited them.
Hi Greg thanks for watching. The 3 pedals are patch up/patch down and CTL so you can patch up through all 250 presets if you wish... Some of these patches were preset which i tweaked for my guitar and some I got from the GT-1000 so a mix really. I hope you enjoyed the video All the best. 👍😎
alex! 24 blocks simultaneusly work for gt1000core but for gt1000 it is the same? i can not find on manual or parameters manual if 24 blocks works together for gt1000 too like on gt1000core. also if i want to use outs for direct recording with cab sim i have to use only phone out with y cable trs to 2 xlrs? and with sub out how i can used and in which situation - has cab sim or not. thank you for help
Hi Adrian, yes the GT-1000 can also use 24 simultaneous effects blocks. And you can use any of the outputs with or without amp sim... It's entirety flexible to suit the user. I hope that helps and all the best 👍
@@AlexHutchingsMusic thank you so much , but i asked about cab simulator not amp simulator. which output can i use using cab sim? phone out using y cable or sub out ? thank you in advance
@@crivac27 Hi Adrian, Sorry I misunderstood your question. I just spent a little time looking in the hope to find out exactly for you but I would recommend you contact the Support centre for Boss as I'm not entirely sure what you're asking is possible... I think it may be, but I do not want to misinform you, so to be safe I'd get in touch with them ... I'm currently working on a tight deadline for another project at the moment but I wish you all the best with it. Good luck. ;-)
Alex is this good as Axe FX FM3 or Axe Fx3? I love Ambient and Synth Effects , does this have those capabilities? And can you do MIDI or expression pedal. I have A GP10 and GR55 , could I use it in combo with that, or Would that be overkill? Hope your hand is feeling better as well.
Hey mate, thanks for watching. I've never tried the Axe fx I'm afraid so I couldn't comment with any level of certainty. Yes you can use an Expression pedal and CTL switch. As for the Midi possibilities I've not had chance to experiment as yet but I'm sure it'll be pretty comprehensive . Hey there, I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the HX stomp but I' sure there are some other viewers that may be able to comment? Thanks for watching mate and good luck with your search. 👍
Hey Alex, Awesome stuff. When your playing live, do you prefer to use the patch mode exclusively? I see some using the patch mode rather than the manual mode. I see some creating a patch for lets say intro, then another patch for verse, then chorus, then verse, then lead, etc.. so using possible 10 or 12 mini patches per song (if you will) in succession, much like you did in this demo, but naming the patches accordingly, (song name intro, Song name, verse, song name chorus, song name lead, etc... Seems like this would work well for live playing. I see others that use maybe 2 patches only in the manual mode and switching the effects from within that. Whats your opinion on this, if you could take a few minutes to reply. I know your a busy guy. Thanks in advance
Hey Monty thanks for stopping by. Personally I like the memory mode but also taking advantage of CTL pedal/s too . This way you can drastically reduce the no of patches you need to use. Like making it distortion on off Dly on off etc etc.... Hope that helps mate, all the best
I pulled the trigger on this one days ago but before I receive it does it come with a power supply and will my Strymon Zuma be able to properly power it with no issues? as I see it draws 670ma.
Hey mate, cool... I know this sounds nuts but I've kind of forgotten, I'm pretty sure it does but if not personally I would recommend using the BOSS power supply to really ensure the safety of the unit... Maybe contact the store or online retailer to be sure... All the very best Dan, and I'm sure you're gonna love it... ;-)

@@nicolasfleuryboss they are ok, but not really designed for the GT-1000. These new patches Alex is playing with sound incredible. Fingers crossed he will make some Boss Tone Central patches soon.
Hey guys, thanks so much for your comments. I don't have a current plans for Bone tone central, but it's a great idea, I'll have a think about doing something with them again in the near future. ;-)
For curiosity’s sake, is the Core suitable for bass as well as guitar? Asking, partly because I’m experimenting with plugging my bass into an ME-80 for its compressor, overdrive and chorus ahead of the bass amp. Additionally, is Zoom currently marketing a similar condensed unit to this one?
L6 helix user /bassist here. Is this suitable for bass? Absolutely. Does it have the greatest amp modeling ever? Maybe not. But I don’t generally use amp or cab sims nor IRs. I use EQ. Which is pretty much what all those things are. So I find this unit VERY interesting. I love my hx stomp, it has some killer features. This unit seems to really go after it. The i/o is particularly interesting. Bluetooth capability is a plus for me, but I understand some may not care or even think it’s a con. If Boss decided to let me check one out, maybe a/b a bit with the hx stomp in the kind of small pedalboard I use, I’d be half way to making the switch. If the GT1kC has a better power adapter out the box it’s already doing very well.
Youve actually responded! A big big fan of yours! Yeah, its like your previous effect with delay/reverb wont immediately fade off when switching to another effect..
Hi mate, thx for watching. Some are and some are from the GT-1000 boss tone central contents, but either way I always tweak them slightly to my playing style and guitar... I think a lot of the presets are really great right of of the box too, it's all down to preference really... I'm glad you enjoyed it. ;-)
Agreed. I've spent the last day working out a sensible way to mix an MP3 player into the headphone out so I could use this as a practice room on the road. Seems like a bit of an oversight, given this is clearly based off the Stomp and the Stomp has an aux in.
@@niloben659 I just carry a little battery powered 2 input mixer now to mix between my mp3 player and and my guitar signal. Bit of a pain and more cables/converters to deal with, but it'll have to do.

Thanks for the thoughts, fingers still a little sore but definitely getting better thank you. All the very best 😎👍
I'm wondering if the midi will play nice with my VG 99. I don't understand how midi works with a TRS cable.
@@vubear MIDI only uses 3 of the pins in a regular 5-pin DIN plug. The TRS ones just eliminate the 2 pins that aren't used.
@@JeffHendricks Thanks for that mate.
Fantastic piece of kit Alex.....what button do you press for 2 sugars!! HaHa!
There's a special one on the back, I'll show you next time I see you. ;-)
How does it sound vs the HX Stomp?
Hey there, I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the HX stomp but I' sure there are some other viewers that may be able to comment? Thanks for watching mate and good luck with your search. 👍
Superb playing Alex 👍😍
Thank you mate.
Nice job.
Hope that helps mate, all the best
best as always. ❤️❤️
Cheers Rahul. 😎👍
All the very best Dan, and I'm sure you're gonna love it... ;-)
Alex is just a fantastic player, wether its just one Boss pedal he demonstrates or its the GT1000, he’s just an incredible guitar player without compromise. Boss needs Alex, if Boss is reading this, Boss needs to do whatever it takes to keep Alex employed with Boss. Lol!
Very kind of you to say so mate.
Much appreciated. 😎👍🤘
@@AlexHutchingsMusic thank you Alex, you’ve inspired me to get better with my guitar playing, been following you on RUclips for almost 10 years now, so yea! Thank you kindly Sir!
@@rockkstah2550 Nice one man, thanks so much for the support and all the best. Keep working hard man and I'm sure you'll reach your musical goals. 👍😎🤘🎸
Great video as always Alex, hope you're recovering well ? you've made me want yet another piece of gear :) LOL !!!
Hey thanks Marcus, yes getting better now thank you. Yep this is definitely a sexy bit of kit. ;-) Cheers mate.
Great! Boss is boss!
Thank you Wesley. 😎
@@AlexHutchingsMusic I love your sound Alex! Have a nice day man!
im sold
Cool, I'm sure you'll love it.
So nice! Alex !
Thank you mate. Cheers!
How is your hand doing now Alex?
Hey Michael, Thank you for asking, in fact I recently did a 6 months on video which will let you know in a little more detail. ruclips.net/video/X8_qTlZgxuQ/видео.html
But essentially things are moving on really well thank you still a little numb but getting there. All the best mate. 👍
Are you going to have your patches on Boss Tone Central? They sound amazing!
ink There already are patches from Alex on Tone Central. The collection is named “Creative Tones”. Give it a try, they sound amazingly good ;)
@@nicolasfleuryboss they are ok, but not really designed for the GT-1000.
There’s always the option of purchasing one on the return policy and sending it back for a full refund.
Just bought one
Awesome, I hope you'll enjoy it. All the best 👍
Hows your Finger Alex! Love your playing always !!
Thank you Hei, they are getting a lot better now thank you for asking. ;-) All the very best to you
Tendonitis?
12ème preset like Mesa sound 😱❤️
Glad you enjoyed it. 👍😎
does it have a trail function?
What's that mate? Do you mean the ability to carry over delay trails etc? If so yes definitely. Thx for watching.
Youve actually responded! A big big fan of yours! Yeah, its like your previous effect with delay/reverb wont immediately fade off when switching to another effect..
@@jekoigatapia7759 Cheers mate... Kind of you to say so. 👍 Yes it definitely has this feature. All the best mate.
Bestman
Good alex
Thanks Edwin 👍🙏🎸
Alex great demo and great song though your drum track was a tad loud in places, still awesome though!
Thank you mate, yeah I do need to improve my mixing.. Thanks for the tip. All the best 👍🙏🎸
The music reminds me of a corporate video with bits of Joe Satriani sprinkled on top.
That's a pretty fair description, I'll take that.. ;-) Thx for watching.
Alex Hutchings demoing boss/roland products. 2020 isn't so bad after all.
Hahah Cheers Hunter, yeah it's nice to be playing with all of this new gear again. Thanks for watching mate. ;-)
Hi Alex, very interesting device. Is it a smaller version of the big sister GT 1000 or is it completely different?
Thanks and I wish you the best
Hey Luigi, it's got the same engine as the GT-1000 just in a smaller box... It's really cool. Thx for watching.
Are these factory patches or custom patches? Great performance Alex.
Hi mate, thx for watching. Some are and some are from the GT-1000 boss tone central contents, but either way I always tweak them slightly to my playing style and guitar... I think a lot of the presets are really great right of of the box too, it's all down to preference really... I'm glad you enjoyed it. ;-)
NO AUX IN ? I use this on my gp10 TO FEED IN ANY SOUND SOURCE for rehearsal...and when gigging feed my gr 55 into it....SO HANDY!
There's the USB input, hopefully they could come out with something
Agreed. I've spent the last day working out a sensible way to mix an MP3 player into the headphone out so I could use this as a practice room on the road. Seems like a bit of an oversight, given this is clearly based off the Stomp and the Stomp has an aux in.
@@gregarmstrong2500 Yeah no aux in is crap, have you got backing tracks in via usb?
@@niloben659 I just carry a little battery powered 2 input mixer now to mix between my mp3 player and and my guitar signal. Bit of a pain and more cables/converters to deal with, but it'll have to do.
@@gregarmstrong2500 Same, I'm using a mixer too, absolute pain. What about audio over USB?
I have a Balinese cat that looks just like yours!
Nice one Ryan, 🐈 👍
Whats that guitar you are using ? sounds good, great licks :)
Thank you mate. It's a hand made guitar from the uk. This is the NuVo guitar by Waghorn guitars. Thx for watching. ;-)
Olá Alex, tudo bem, gosto muito do seu trabalho, você é um excelente guitarrista, teria como vc fazer o Review da me 80 e colocar legenda em português
