      ❤ Hello Rachel ❤
If you do end up deciding to redo the epoxy sculpt parts may I make a suggestion? I think the design would look more "complete" or "cohesive" if the wood headrest went down all the way to the seat instead of only floating on the headrest. Mind you I am thinking about the Pinterest examples you showed us while making this suggestion so I hope you do not mind my suggestion.
I really appreciate you doing this project and showing us how you did it because I plan to do my chair now using the pattern making idea you did. I have been struggling with ideas of how to redo my chair fabric and you have shown me a way that is easier/less expensive for me. Thank you again for your inspiration from a long time subscriber.

I actually thought she would combine the corduroy with the lighter flowery fabric.
But then again, the other corduroy also looks really nice.
I am just working on an underskirt where I had a similar problem (have been felling seams while watching this video): I've sewn a skirt out of a weirdly cut tunic style shirt that an elderly woman gave me, and decided it needed an underskirt for a variety of reasons.
Then I found a piece of linen-viscose mix in the bargain bin at the department store and it was the right weight and type of fabric to go well with the skirt. I thought it was just enough for an underskirt, so I bought it.
While cutting out the pieces I realized that it was just short of enough, and then I also made a stupid mistake and cut some pieces wrongly.
So I took another, coarser linen and made the back part of the underskirt out of that, but also cut that shorter and attached a wide band of the finer fabric to it. So, you will only see the good fabric peeking out from under the skirt and nobody will know it is a mix. ^ ^
I can even justify it by saying I made the part you're sitting on from a sturdier fabric and one that also doesn't yellow because it's already unbleached. Lol.
Anyway, I have to make a whole bunch more seams now because the back is all pieced together.

Basically, you teach me with every video that if you can think of it, you can do it.

@@BrokenDarkFire have curage. sewing is not that hard. especially with an object cover where it absoutely does not matter what the inside looks like. tip for figuring it out: take paper (cheap package paper, the big roles. or paper for covering the floor when you paint a wall...) and put it on your chair. then you can, surface by surface, draw the shape of the chair's textile parts. pins help to keep things in place. painter's tape is a quick way to connect them and figure out closures. and when you have cut off just a bit too much of the piece of paper, painter's tape is a quick way to add that bit of surface again or connect paper. with velcro you need overlapping parts somewhere so the back can open... paper and painter's tape. then futz around and find out. I use this method frequently at work.

Unfortunately, scales don't work. They want you to mix by volume for epoxy clays. One component is significantly heavier than the other and if you went by weight it would be off.
You can make equal sized balls like the instructions say, or I find equal sized discs easier. Just draw a disc on a sheet of wax paper and roll it out to the desired thickness. Cut it using a craft knife. Add a dab of acrylic black paint and smash the two discs together. You'll know they're fully mixed once you can't see anymore black paint swirls. The paint doesn't seem to affect the curing that I've found at any rate.
