      @@motorconcierge OK. Touring is still visibly looks like a 911, so the "sleeper" qualification is out of the equation.
      Concerning the clean design.. I'll give you that, yes, it is clean.
      But in my mind (and, yes, my mind might be "twisted") when I go for this amount of performance (the GT3 amount of performance), then I want the real GT3, not an "apologetic 911" which left its wing at home in order not to look too "racy".
      Who gives a crap? Have you ever heard of "go big or go home?"
      Well, that's exactly IT!
      The only thing proving I'm partially wrong is PORSCHE's Marketing Abteilung who just knew "some" wanted it "discreet"...
      Amazing. Just almost as amazing as people who purchase a Cabrio.. With a diesel engine. Hats off to you people 😉

    This car seems perfect for the green hell.
    I was at a car maintenance place (body shop?) where I dropped off my old Volvo for some bits and bobs and he had the 991 GT3RS in his showroom. Of course in many ways similar to this newer version but oh my, what a car. Funny you mention the hp and torque. I was amazed to see he had a '22 model RS6 which has 600hp (roughly 100 more than the Porsche).
    Those safety regulations killed much of the available import cars. I am glad here in the Netherlands we can get almost any car, as long as we pay regular tax and import tax!

    I’ve had 3 GT3s including an older RS. My current ride is a 991.2 GT3. This new RS is so far over the top, I’d be embarrassed to drive it on the street. The rear spoiler is cartoonish. Even AP of Porsche said you’ll probably get sneered at on the street. It’s a cup car for Gods sake. The 991.2 is the last organic gt3 you can drive on the street

  • @BrianStDenis-pj1tq
    @BrianStDenis-pj1tq Год назад +1

    Assuming limited production numbers like previous RSes, many will be bought and used as as investment, and they'll never see the track or street. That's too bad. So, when you see one out and about, its really a rare occurrence.

    I really appreciated this review as I felt it got more real than by far the most. My takeaway is that perhaps the GT3/RS may both be a bit too much for the public road as fantastic as they are. Can’t quite figure out whether a Carrera T is all the 911 you need or the GTS is where it’s at.

    • @commanderrussels2612
      @commanderrussels2612 Год назад +1

      I bought a GTS, and I'd suspect a T is all you need. My car before was a 991.1S and that was enough power for the street, the GTS I feel like I'm eggshelling the pedal a lot. Everything has SO MUCH POWER now. The GTS does look a bit cooler than the T, since it has the lower ride height and the front end is neater.

    • @AndersChanTidemann
      @AndersChanTidemann Год назад

      @@commanderrussels2612 I agree with you. I drove a base Carrera and it didn’t feel super quick in acceleration but I bet it’s more than enough in real-world driving. It’s more about the handling to me. Of course the GTS has a quite different chassis too so wondering about that as well. These cars have become so pricey and I wouldn’t mind saving €30-40k on a T over a GTS.

    People say "race car for the street" quite a bit, but I promise you will always face only one of the following scenarios: you absolutely won't want to drive it on the street *or* it's not a race car.
    The 992 RS is wicked fast, yes. But it doesn't have brakes / tires that barely work at road temps, it has ABS and AC, the ride wont rattle you to death, the transmission won't jolt your body and hurt your ears. Would I take one as an incredibly track capable road car? Absolutely, but if I want a race car, it would be a 992 Cup or otherwise.

    Let’s be real, any car with over 400hp is too much for the street. I remember Joe Rogan picking up his RS 4.0 from Sharkwerks and saying no person should be allowed to buy this car and drive it on public roads lol. Where I live you’re either going to be stuck behind someone going slow, driving in a 30-35mph zone, avoiding thousands of pot holes caused by 7 months of snow plows, police desperately trying to pull you over for speeding, and usually a combination of all 4.
