Jay has the best job in the world. People stop by with the most incredible cars and ask,”would you like to take it for a ride?”
And the best thing is if he really likes it, he has the money to buy one. It's like an endless test drive for Jay
Not just people the ones who make the cer
well cars are more his hobby i think

Not sure you would call it a job when it’s his own channel
It's not a Jay Leno video if he doesn't mention his Mclaren F1, Mercedes 600, or Carrera GT.
Yea and takes a dump on Ferrari, and that’s fine with me too.😂
If I owned a McLaren F1 I would make sure to mention it in every single conversation I have 😂
@jfkayne That's the way I'd be. I could be checking in at the dentist and I'd tell them I needed a cleaning and I have a McLaren F1.
Jay’s so right. Nothing beats the sound and feel of a great NA engine.
absolutely!
>Straight piped VQ noises intensify<
Are you sure about that? lol
That is the perfect ignorant statement
I love my Pacer.
Except a twin turbo anything....Jay's becoming Grandpa who tells the same joke every time you go to his house.....
"Ya know, I remember when they used to say you'd never be more than a mile from a phone in any direction.."
I met Patrick a few years ago at COTA before a race. He was standing by the car, cup of coffee in hand. It was freezing outside, and I asked for a pic. He set down his cup and smiled. Really nice guy.
Great video guys! The Carrera GT managed a 7.28 back in the day, almost 40 seconds off this weapon, amazing when you consider the GT had 80hp more and weighed a bit less....
I thought that didn't sound right - Must have been thinking of the Porsche 918.
Love Jay's humility. He's such a gift to the automotive world. And Patrick Long, what can you say? One of the best things about Porsche is the people. The Porsche community is so well represented by Patrick Long. The cars are world class, but the people are even better.
Well said.
What a way to round out an incredible career. Porsche couldn't pick a more enthusiastic and knowledgeable guy to represent the brand.
Porsche has been my all-time dream car since my early thirties. Maybe someday I'll get to drive one.
Come to Germany and do a taxi lap on the Nurburgring with a 911. You will not understand how that car stays on the track, but it does 😅
996 is a great starting point. Got mine and I friggin love it!
Always was a fan of 996 GT2, this gt3 is first one that looks good since the 996.
@JayLeno-rz3if yes i always loved the look of 996 GT2. My uncle owned a mint never driven white whale tale 930 turbo so i been around these kinds of cars up close. I would still chose 996 GT2 over both.
@JayLeno-rz3if i went to a Porsche dealership in 2003 to look at the new Carrera Gt in showroom, I left with the free 2003 dealership brochure I still have it. Wanted the silver 477hp GT2 listed in the back of it 🤣
I wish I could get a new episode everyday! So much knowledge from Jay!
Jay is a walking legend without a doubt but I somehow believe he would be more of a GT3 Touring Type of Guy :)
Why? He has the money to own and enjoy driving any car he wants
@@4Kandleznot everything is about money. I suppose motorconcierge meant that it’d fit Jay from a use standpoint: the GT3 is understated, very fun and very fast, yet refined. And not a cheap car either
Nahhh he is more of a TRX kinda guy…specially when he drives home from Burbank
The Carrera GT did not go under 7 minutes at the nring like Jay said. It did 7:28 👍🏻
this RS is not 8500 rpm redline either Patrick stated
I thought 7 minutes was a little fast for the time
@@robertpsotka3525 The Carrera GT has an impressive time especially for its day but the actual first car to break the 7 minute barrier was the Porsche 918 Spyder
@Brian Himmelman you're right, peak hp is 8500 redline is 9000 bur maybe post 8500 it cuts fuel as it gets close to 9k
@@catinthehat5140 It doesn’t “cut fuel” ……it will run unobstructed to 9000 !
I drove a 2019 example of the GT3 RS and it’s hard to even describe the precision and instant response to any and all input. Incredible car! It really made me feel like a much better driver than I actually am. Great video as always. Thank you!
OMG I wonder what it'll do for me? I'm already a better driver than most people. Agree about the video, great!
i can tell you the new one is mental. For people who are more experienced the tweaks you can do on the fly with the suspension is something else! hope you get the chance to drive it! Greetings from Zuffenhausen Germany ;)
Ah, the 991.2
In Lizard Green, that is my dream car.
@@bernibeckmann9753 I'm a better driver than most people as well, this car would make me supreme above all others!
@@4Kandlez @Berni Beckmann Maybe you two should get a room and compare pee pee sizes? Btw Pinocchio wants his nose back
Great video. Loved the casual chat Jay and Patrick had about what the future was supposed to be like when they were young compared to how it has turned out.
May internal combustion last for a long time.
💯💯
Save the manuals
Jay driving @ 16:09 light turning yellow well before entering , go faster through light, camera edits that out, drives like most of us! Forget about the +100MPH; lol. that'l give you a ticket too. Great episode - again! Plus Patrick says it's affordable to "pound" cars on tracks lap after lap - betcha he doesn't pay for his tires!
Thank you, Mr. Leno for another awesome history lesson, nothing better than a naturally aspirated Porsche!🙏🏽
I thought I was the only one, that just enjoys driving my cars.
Spot on Jay👍🏻
Good to see you back and Healthy😊
Yes, you're the only one. No one else does. True story.
"I thought I was the only one, that just enjoys driving my cars" Come on Karl don't be silly now
@@bongobob7079 I'm not into street racing, beating them to death. Sad to see someone trash a great car.
Remember when 7 min lap at the Nurburgring was astonishing? This thing does 6:45? That's crazy I'm off to find a video of it.
Camera man needs to work on their white balance.
If I was ever fortunate enough to be able to afford this masterpiece, this is the EXACT spec I would choose. Those blue wheels are unbelievable. Thank you Patrick Long and Jay-that was great!
is it just me or is Jay abbreviating the "Welcome to another episode of Jay Leno's garage" more and more for each episode?
Yes. He's also starting to look like my grandma.
O gee, not the intro. 🤦😑
Yes! Today it sounded like, “J-Lo’s Garage.” Jay is a national treasure. Long live Jay, our brother in auto appreciation!
Jay has definitely aged pretty hard lately. I feel like he’s on his way out.
@@dabearcub dude is ONLY 70. HUSH YO MOUTH !!! 😡
Love that channel!
Love that man!
Love that car!
Conversation doesn’t skip a beat at 26:30 with that quick transition. Love it!
Porsche just have a distinctive aura. Other car manufacturer just put in as many horse power as possible, while Porsche engineers come up with brilliant ideas
There Is
N O S U B S T I T U T E
Glad Jay is back n looking good. Crazy a guy worth that much still works on all his own cars n ones that may be dangerous to work on apparently the older ones. Must be amazing to work at his shop with all those cars
They should have made this Mid Engine before going Electric. If the GT4 RS is Insane, imagine this!
Let's see some of your own iron, Mr. Leno. That's always my favorite stuff.
The same car over n over making small changes to sell the same product over n over.
It's impossible for Jay Leno to get old as long as he drives all these sport cars 😌
The Carrera GT did it just under 7:30, not 7:00. In the past 20 years, tire technology and aero has advanced tremendously to the point a car with less power can run a track 45 seconds faster.
Porsche is my supercar dream. Just because of their engineering of the 911. I watch a RUclips channel called carwow and these guys put different 911 models against some cars and the 911 outperforms them.
I always look 👀 forward to a new
Jay Leno’s Garage episode
The 4 liter Porsches will be like the 356 Carreras of the future. Very collectible I’m sure
Stunning! Another car in my virtual garage.
So as jay say if you race allone at the street you not going to jail..
But if you race aigainst other guy you are going to jail and you gonna burn into hell...😊
Sadly the lowest price this car will ever have will be at the time of initial purchase. Depreciation is NOT in this car's future. Great for the initial buyer but not for any of us who buy the soggy seconds or tired thirds. 😢
Always look forward to jays Monday car videos. 😀
It's Monday?? I'm late for work!
Definitely not first
... and proud of it!
Lol Pat putting up with Jay's comments 😂☠️
Nice looking car and great info from Patrick Long
My life really sucks and has since I shattered my pelvis and spine! I really need this car!
Luftgekuhlt is not a german word. Thats embarrassing…
Incredible piece of machinery 🥰
Mid $200ks, then the dealer adds a $200k markup
How did it take 200 comments for someone to say this fact? My guess is even if you had the money, with $200k over, if you haven’t bought a new Porsche every year for the last decade, they won’t give you an allocation for one….
This car is great and all but I’d still take the GT3 Touring. That manual gearbox says it all and it’s an overall usable package.
I would still take the GT3 Manual, Bucket Seats & Carbon Ceramics! It's just so much money! 💸
918 Spyder is the first 6:57 min. @Nurbugring Nordschlife.
I really like the blue rims and seatbelt 😊 nice touch
Jay is correct the Aero is pointless
Back in the 1960s-70s, certainly a different time, agility and mental coordination was needed for the manual shifting, while working the clutch, and drinking a beer, all while driving around.
I LOVE that you raced against the bike!! The opening clips of the same shot first caught my ear's attention, but when you cut to the biker pulling up to lane split (20:03) , then switching camera to the car's view/audio, oh my! Them's two different redlines! WOOT! Great as always, good sir!
This car is going to be a classic someday. I'm sure somebody will build a business around making it cool again.
When will this car ever not be cool?
Won't happen. It will never not be cool.
@@memyself5337 Tastes change. Haven't you heard? I bet there are already people around who don't think it's cool. That didn't take long. The original air-cooled 911 was just another old used sports car for a while. In fact Porsche was thinking of dropping the 911 line at one time. But my original comment was just for fun. I like imagining a Singer type company making these new Porsches into something special 40 years from now. What's that you say? These cars are already special?! I give up. Commenting is hard.
@@bernibeckmann9753 Didn't mean to sound aggressive. Sorry about that. I love 911's since I saw the 930's as a kid. In my eyes, a 911 will always be a classic. Cheers!
Jay I’m a loyal viewer like everyone else, but I much rather watch the “average guy” videos with cars worth 20-40 grand that they fixed up themselves come to the garage, these 6 figure cars are way out of reach for 98% of us,and the corporate reps come with them, the people who own and can afford these cars don’t even watch your videos,JMO
What would one of the chins videos be if he couldn't tell everyone how much money he spends on his hobby, which by the way is all written off on his taxes. I bet you don't get to write off your hobby, 99% of us can't. He just another of the 1 percenters.
Jay, that car or one just like it would Great in your garage.
6:50 at the Nurburgring?! I took a physics class in college many many years ago, and we calculated how it was virtually impossible for a street car to ever lap the ring under 7 minutes. Now here we are, 2023 and theres several road legal cars that are under 7 minutes.
Carrera GT Nurburgring time is 7:29 , far from this car lol.
For natural births, my mom used the Le Mans technique: she screamed like a Ferrari. 🤪🤦🏻♀️
Synthetic fuels are first so we can continue ICE racing. And for the future when ICE cars are for hobbyists only. If everyone was still riding horses, no one would pay $20-$30/bale for hay. As a hobby, it isn’t outrageous.
Porsche truly knocked it out of the park with this one.
Such a beautiful car. It looks so awesome!
Amazing track focused car! Btw Jay the Carrera GT did Nurburgring in 7:29
I wonder what it'd run on modern tires. Probably close to 7 min.
The only time a seatbelt matched the double denim. 😂
Great to have Patrick Long on the show! Great driver, and a walking Porsche encyclopedia. Not many people would, but I would daily drive this car. After all the exhaust sound of cars being dampened by turbos, it's great to hear the sound of a naturally aspirated engine (especially this one)! Thanks Jay, Patrick, and crew for another fantastic episode! THAT SOUND!! ✌️❤️🙂🇨🇦
Nice to see u back after motorcycle accident 😊
That wing looks hideous!!!!
These clips with new cars seem more like commercials, hoping Jayson will buy it😅
COOL Road Testing 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 RS with Patrick Long
Anybody else suspect that Jay and that bike were messing around at around 20 minutes? Definitely sounded like 2 engines winding up.
STILL MISSING THE MOST IMPORTANT CAMERA ANGLE….. Facing dashboard and road
what is it 100K over MSRP? I'll get one once I cash out my tesla puts later this year once Musk goes to jail...
Super high hp is old, boring news. This is what real engineering looks like with that sweet spot around 500hp combined with proper weight/aero.
The problem with the GT3's is that even if you have the money you can't get them in the U.S if you're not Jay Leno or Seinfeld.
The car is too smart, I need a race car driver ridding shotgun to help me drive it.
@ 20:03 it sounds like jay races the bike and they kept the audio but cut the scene to a different rolling shot 👏🏾 👏🏾
Jay needs to change the format. Show more of the car ffs. Showing dudes talking is weird. Were there any shots of the dash area? I just don't get it
The Porsche Carrera GT is not even close to 7 minutes mr. Leno! 😅 The six speed manual GT4 with a manual and 200hp less is nearly as fast as the Carrera GT @Nordschleife 😉
Sorry guys, but we really needed to see that thing going uo the canyons............
A fabulous car, an interesting yet, relaxed conversation between 2 great and intelligent car guys.
Thank you and congratulations
One of the highlights of my entire life was driving a GT3 around a track at full bore. I still fantasize about that experience and I WILL own one someday!
"so how many are they going to make?"
"lets talk about how much carbon is on it"
I mean I could have just read the press release and saved myself the time.
How much will 2023 GT3 RS cost?
Image result for 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 RS It'll be part of the Exclusive Manufaktur customization program. The new Tribute to Carrera RS will cost $314,000-about $89k more than the '23 911 GT3 RS's $225,250 base price.Oct 21, 2022
The Carrera GT done the Nurburgring in just under 7:30 Jay !!!
💯💯🔥
This thing is a missile. Porsche continues to lead the pack in the sports car world.
looks like leno's recovering well from recent mishaps
I want daily Jay's garage episodes! They are like mini documentaries! Soo much knowledge from Jay.
Jay is so well studied
Not really
He is marketing for Porsche, documentary, muhahahahaha, you get fooled easy !
You do all coupons too, buy it all they say, lol !
Hey Jay, did you place your order? GREAT Video!👍
Value for the money IF YOU CAN GET ONE !!!
Jay: "do you really need the extra aero on the street?"
porsche guy:
This guy avoids straight answers for a living.
Jay is true legend and he have life
Late to the party, but in the intro Jay drops into his Massachusetts accent and says “cah” and quickly corrects himself to “car” - 😂 He finally slipped!
I will always prefer a manual transmission...
thats what the GT3 is for, RS is for racing, for max performance, thats why its only PDK
I saw a video of a Tesla on the Nuremberg ring…..boring.
Amazing car
What an amazing car and amazing channel too (still the best on RUclips!).
I wonder, would a 911 ‘fan’ assist aero car make some
sense for ‘street’ driving speeds?Could they perhaps one day build a 911 GT RS ‘McMurtry’ edition?
What car you drive yourself, this is not a real track car at all.
You need to remove all the crap, do cage inside
@@lucasRem-ku6eb I have a few cars but none as exotic as this (if only!), I did have a 911C4 for a bit and I loved it (I now have two old Rolls Royce’s one pre and one post war, a couple of v12 Jags one a genuine TWR, a Porsche 928GT, my daily motor is however a LS 600h Lexus). I just like the idea of adding electric fans to provide increased aero at lower speeds. I am sure these will be used more to help fill in aero effects at lower speeds for cornering one day, but who knows?? Be interesting to come back to this one day if Porsche ever use that tech (perhaps weight’s the key issue, but Gordon Murray manages to use it a lot). BTW my 928 has 245k miles and still drives like new and I still rag it 🤣 (Porsche engineering is just the best!)
@@MacsMachines As daily, you should buy a Tesla, recharge it with the sun, rest is a museum, nice !
That was a good sell. That thing's gorgeous.
A $200k teenagers car... who is buying this...
Three types: collectors, investors, and drivers.
If a frog designed a vehicle this would be it! No thanks
Such a tragedy that we don’t get that beautiful carbon harness bar here in the US!
I think you meant the 918 as one of the first Porsche that got under 7 minutes. CGT is around 7m30s. Still amazing cars. Great video💪🏻
I hate that crazy wing, but at least it’s functional and increases downforce.
I drive a 992.1 GT3 RS *non weissach* Its a MONSTER. Revs out to 9,000 RPM W/ 7 GEARS. It NEVER wants to STOP accelerating. Foot to floor going, I am already at ~145MPH when I’m leaving 4th gear into 5th gear, with all of 5th, 6th, and 7th to GO.. I’ve driven/been in a lot. Not like this.
BUT If you respect her, she won’t kill you. I agree, it ONLY wants to FLY. But I’ve been enjoying it being my Daily Driver. Would I pick up a first date in it? No 😂
