Great Video Roger! Love the location shots and the shot of the two cars side by side. You had the perfect day for this shoot! What a privilege! Thanks for sharing!
Another great presentation Roger, well overdue but worth the wait! Amazing cars and tonnes of information to digest, including your infectious superlatives. After a recent 850 miles drive across UK roads this week including motorways, A roads, B roads, traffic jams, roadworks, accidents, diversions etc I could not see the RS as a daily driver. Oh and some fabulous music in the background.
What is great about your reviews is that reason and passion blend into one pack ! So yes I agree with you and no doubt plenty others that this extraordinary 992 GT3 RS is not the ultimate road car for lack of practicality - this feature being the definition of a 911 - but thank God (or the Weissach wizards) that they have made this machine ! Personally I would say the 992 GT3 Touring with adjustable Sport seats, the manual shift and the nose lift is the answer to your quest. Or, for far less money, the Carrera T. 😎
absolutely brilliant review Roger, its so much better than reviews from over-hyped other youtubers, its informative, interesting, and a beautifully produced video, and the GT3RS is as you say next level, lets have more videos please !!
Did you read my review on CSC 😂. Great video Roger, you are right, better than std 992GT3 on bumpy roads, with suspension fully backed off. I love mine 😃
Wonderful video Roger. Love the 992 GT3 RS. It has really moved the game on. Had a good look at the 991.1 GT3 RS in Chester OPC and even that looks fantastic. It looks like any RS is a highly desirable thing
Brilliant review yet again Roger. I totally respect your view point(s), for a few reasons. Firstly, ther narration and real world use. Two, I know that you use your GT3 like I do (daily, occasional trackday, etc), Three, you understand the product, and this goes a long way. Some RUclipsrs don't get the Porsche product line up and then just complain,.....oh it too hard,.....it's too big, etc etc. You keep it real, well done, thanks for sharing.
800kg of down force would require significant engineering to ensure the components could handle that kind of load. Of course, this is a Porsche so that is a given! Thank you for another enjoyable video Roger.
Great video Mr. RB. So... After crooning after the GT3RS, are we going to see you change from your light blue GT3 to a GT3RS? And I honestly think we need to see you getting yourself to the Nürburgring Nordschleife in your GT3 for a blast. That video would be quite epic. Hope Jilly's OK and on the mend? My best wishes go to her for a speedy recovery. 🤞 Your No1 stalker ;-))...
Nürburgring would be a blast indeed, one day perhaps, same goes for a GT3RS, Jilly is stable thanks v much for asking, I'll mention you to her,. Good finding you here stalking TZ :-)
@@RogerBaileyOnCars First time hearing in a review that when the dampers are at -4 that the RS rides smoother than a GT3, I guess I'll be subscribing to your perspective👍😄👍
Ditch the fender add ons, the extra air inlets on the hood... keep the wing height/active components but revert to the classic style as opposed to "swan neck" and I think it would look cleaner; less busy. I could also do without the colorful rims... Still looks great and I assume in person it probably looks better than on camera 🙂
Always enjoy your videos and have been watching them for quite awhile. The GT3 is a great car, of course, but I would choose a GTS here in Colorado. The GT3 loses over 100hp at my 7000' altitude. Turbos lose basically nothing. Why I bought an M4 Competition after 15 years of Corvettes. BMW's laughable 503 hp is actually ~ 550-560. Can use it all here. That's why I would go with a turbo charged 911, despite how good the GT3 is at sealevel and sounds there as well.
Why do people constantly bring up phrases like "tOo eXtReMe fOr tHe rOaD"? This car isn't made for the road, it's time to get your head around that finally. The only time this thing should be on the road is when driving it to an actual track so you don't need to trailer it there.
Roger, Your videos are the best and I trust your judgement. Good to know the 992 GT3RS is a great road going car. For a person who does driving on curvy mountain roads which 992 would give the most driving pleasure in terms of steering feel, road holding ability, road comfort, ability to drive all day long? No track time just driving curvy roads at the speed limit. Also which 718 Cayman would perform the best under these same conditions? I do not know if it is the purity of a base 4 cylinder with MT and 18 inch wheels, or the GT4RS, or some version in between the two extremes.
992 GTS or perhaps a Carrera T would fit the all day driving bill nicely, similarly a 718 GTS 4.0L - GT cars are compromised when it comes to all day comfort, its the high tyre noise mainly.
I @@RogerBaileyOnCars Thanks for your reply. Coincidently I was able to reach the correct conclusion since I ordered a new 718 manual GTS 4.0L Boxster about 4 hours before you replied. Nice to have agreement from an expert like you. Yesterday I drove a used 718 Cayman T and enjoyed it greatly also.
You are wise not to mention your lack of any race experience or to express any opinion as to the track car attributes of this model or its track adjustability. We all use the "-4" road setting. What you completely fail to mention or apparently understand is car balance. Whilst the aero balance is fixed 30/70 f/r the OE understeer can be transitioned into oversteer either by adjusting f/r compression/rebound or by adjusting the locking diff which is something only a very experienced race driver or engineer should attempt. (That's why 992 RS press cars are not available for roadtest on the public road) On your own GT3 the aero balance is adjustable and the benign understeer can be reduced by increasing front downforce. Above 90MPH this change can be felt by a good driver. Below 90MPH no aero changes made can be felt in the RS. By adjusting the diff in the RS, understeer can be reduced and transition to oversteer.
It just looks a little over contrived, gt3 much cleaner. But hey, i’ll never get near either so hats off to porsche for leading the way on defining what a sports car is
I don't like these kinds of videos where the most coveted 911 for Porsche drivers can be seen and heard. 😂😂 This because I will never own one unless Bitcoin ever goes to 100K perhaps. The price here (Netherlands) for the basic version is € 350,900.00 (our government is made up of criminals). It is a fantastic car where Italian trash can't match but but unfortunately unattainable for many, including me.😔😔 Thanks for the video Roger, great job!
Great car and a video thats a bit different i terms of suppling not only data, but giving an insight on what the owners view and thought of things might be. BUT: Who f...ed up the additional wrapping on the GT3 RS. It's not even in line with the factory stickers. Please change that asap. It's unworthy on any Porsche. Especially on this one, considering the price.
Porsche looked at the diminishing rate of acceleration at higher speeds thanks to the drag from the wings, and they realized that, at the Nurburgring, the car would only ever hope to reach top speed of around 180 or so. So, rather than having gearing that allowed the car to run to close to 200 mph or so over the course of miles, they realized that they would be better off putting more aggressive gearing in it, which would allow it to accelerate faster while also allowing it to reach its top speed relatively soon, and on track. The drag makes a difference, but it is not necessarily drag limited to that speed; it just wastes a lot of gear, time, and distance trying to do any more top speed than that.
Such a dramatic beginning! Love you reviewing cars. This is such a beautiful car and loving the color. You are living it 🤍
pure class, the video and the car, Roger you are a genius

thanks Richard. yes it was a privilege
you said you had a special video on the way and wow ! a special car and a special video brilliant as always Roger mega production !
Glad you liked it!
Superb video and a first "normal" review of the 992 GT3RS as far as I'm aware, quite a coup and thanks to Graham for allowing you use his car
Glad you enjoyed it

Good video and review - nice to meet and chat with you at the CSC May event - still not seen one of these yet in the flesh - sure will soon
Finally someone compared these cars. Thanks you!
Roger the quality of the video in this video is probably the best I’ve seen, what’s the secret kit?
Thank you for saying so, I use a Sony A7S3

992 GT3 owner reviews a 992 GT3 RS. Great video from someone who knows about the “basic” 992 GT3😎

Many thanks for letting Roger loose in it

Great video. Is there going to be a porche on the prom in Llandudno do you think this year would love to see that car in the flesh
Thanks Paul, there's no Porsche on the prom this year sadly
I have the same car white And blu weels , And pack weissach .. wonderful to drive … the best one ..
I want the gt3 to get all of the suspension tuning knobs! Hopefully for the 992.2!
Best car ever made
Great video.
Thanks!
Roger could you point me to where this car got the Tribute decals ? much appreciated
I'm told a firm called invisifilm fitted the modified decals

until the next RS comes out, this will remain as my dream car alongside the new S/T, i'm sure i'm not the only one 😉

Suppose that’s the beauty of free choice - ability for the owner to do what he wants, never mind the value or price.
No different than the previous 3 versions lol
They all the damn same. Can only trick people so many times
184 can’t be the top speed ??
That’s what Porsche tell us, I can’t verify it of course !
The inescapable consequence of huge aerodynamic lift or downforce is huge drag, and drag force limits top speed.
