another fantastic video Roger, nice job. I was lucky enough to share the race track at Donington park this week with both of these stunning models along with a selection of cup cars and GT2 RS, including the mind bending RPM GT3 car and a stunning Gunther Werks, heaven. Not sure anything can get close to that sound and smell. keep up the good work.
With interior sound levels at 100 decibels and higher, is this really a reasonable road car? I’m thinking not. That is seriously loud. Thanks for another quality video, Roger.
Excellent video. It’s hard to believe that Porsche is planning to go all electric with the Cayman. I love my Porsches, I love how they drive but I also love how they sound. I don’t think that I would ever be willing to pay Porsche-level money for an electric car.
Awesome video Roger they keep getting better and as for these cars i'll take the GT3 but that GT4RS is incredible tough choice thanks for sharing - brilliant, I will watch this one again for sure.
Yes! Bring it on! I vote the GT4RS as I find it more of an interesting proposition with its mid-engined layout, more luggage space and a complete hooligan to drive on B-roads with the AC/DC live concert behind your neck. The GT3 is more traditional and can’t match the aural pleasure of the GT4RS. @viola_gt4rs BTW: those blue wheels are the normal Aluminium wheels. Not the mags
Cracking video in your down to earth style. I’m a 992 GT3 fan but if a GT4 RS was offered I would take it for that noise ! More streetable than the crazy 992 RS. Keep up the good work Roger.
The 992GT3 takes some beating and it seems that the only competitor comes from Porsche itself in the form of the GT4RS, this is an excellent and entertaining comparison, and the choice is if you are a 911 person or a cayman person as you say, excellent review thanks.
Thank you Rodger for another excellent video. Where is the sea front filming done , it looks a nice spot to have a drive out to ..Nice to meet you at the Chung Ku albeit very briefly.
Sound is one of the most important characteristics for me. The raucous noise of the GT4 RS is awesome... but I much prefer the more pure, sonorous sound of the GT3.
which offers a more comfortable road ride? looking to get ether the gt3 or the gt4 rs for my wife and she would prefer to get the one that offers the most comfortable road ride. you talked about the steering. but i would rate steering as a lower issue since its not like in the old days where there wasn't power steering. im talking what is more comfortable ride. more comfy on a person on a long drive?
Another great video, thank you Roger. I love both cars, but if I could have one, I would personally choose the beautiful Shark Blue GT3 with Neodyme wheels, but to be fair, I might well be biased... 😉😂
Great review Roger and drone shots. The 4RS is the last ICE Cayman/GT4. Porsche went all out on it and will be an 'all time great' ! The review, seems to be the same result as others, great sound but a bit too much after a bit. So mainly a track weapon, sadly (possibly) not many will get there?
Awesome video and an awesome car. Question: would it be a meaningful addition to have it alongside a 992 GT3 in a collection, or would it effectively be duplication? Money no object, I'd have both, but as it is, I'm a 911 guy, I'd opt for the 992.
I don’t think they duplicate. The GT3 is more usable daily and balances drama and usability. The GT4RS is much more dramatic, firmer, and louder inside. Not a great car for bumpy roads. The sound is like no other. You don’t even care about the exhaust sound as the air intake noise is so good. If you can get one, do it. Having both is the best.
@@robertmayes9503 Agree. I've read and watched more reviews on both cars (especially the GT4 RS) in the last few weeks, and the difference is notable. The sound of that GT4 RS alone seems to be worth the cost of entry!
Another absolutely epic video Roger!! Fantastic aural porn! You raise some significant First World problems-GT3 or GT4RS?! I like to think of this dilemma like I think about choices of steak. “Yes. One of each please!”😉. Keep up the strong work!
You have a car inbound that isn’t even announced? Quite the thing, that. I assume that means a dealer has promised you a car when they show up. Regardless, you’re a lucky person! 🎉 For me, the drop top wins, and the lack of that rear window bouncing sound back at your head hopefully means you won’t need earplugs to drive it.
@@hbullock with Porsche cars like these you’ll have; a great relationship with the brand, your OPC, you’ll use you cars on track and on road trips and have the right buying profile. The RS will be my 11th OPC Porsche over a period of a few years with models that cover Cayenne, 911 and Boxster. It’ll be my 3rd Boxster. I’ve flipped none and still have 3 of them in the garage. There will be exceptions to the above but they will be short-lived.
The Spyder let’s the resonance out of the cabin and brings nature in, and you also have an open path from your ears to the intakes. It’s more intoxicating and less migraining.

Porsche have yet again launched a GT model with which to kick genuine enthusiasts in the teeth, they will only be allocating them to youtubers with high subscription channels.
@@RogerBaileyOnCars I follow several youtube motoring channels (including yours), the majority have 992GT3 allocations, in fact one has a GT3 models from 997 onwards. I on the other hand have been a loyal Porsche customer for 20 years and am repeatedly kicked in the teeth whenever a GT model is launched.
I do applaud Porsche for building great cars, but you can’t walk into the dealer and buy a new one of either, even putting my name down for the gr4 rs 8 years ago didnt help 🥲! So I reluctantly defected from Porsche as can’t afford the flipping premium.

Correction: Light weight aluminum wheels for this one, not Magnesium. Magnesium wheels have a distinctive look.
thanks for pointing out Jaime

While the GT3 is by no means a limo, the GT3 has a more comfortable road ride than the GT4RS and is quieter too

Thanks for another great video Roger. Which of these two cars would have better steering feel and be more fun on a smooth twisty mountain road?
Good question carl, they are very close but the GT3 wins the steering feel comparison.
You didn't mention that part of the reason the Cayman sounds so good is because of the air intakes in the rear windows.
Yeah he does, at 5:38
Great video as always Roger 👍
thank you, glad you liked it :-)
❤ your video sir!
The GT3 RS is greatest (bar the hyper Porsches) but the GT4 RS is a little greater by virtue of the midship engine set up!
THANK YOU ROGER !!!
