If only san francisco would put in half the effort they put into punishing citizens into solving crime and homelessness
Crime only exists if it is punished otherwise it is excepted, and homelessness is a main industry within SF, so it is a main income generator.

Re
How would you know
Liberal cities be like:
money to punish citizens but no money to fight crime or homeless
California spent 20 Billion on homeless programs and there is no accountability of where the money was spent. Plenty of funds were available for homeless programs, but Democrats be redirecting that money to their pockets.
Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Liberal cities be like:
@@MimiVerbana That is what they want you to believe, but they will only use that money to spend on their own good rather then your own good.
Always so efficient taking money away from tax payers
How about some cameras to ticket people crapping on the sidewalks?
Eyes in the sky instead of boots on the ground
tickets = money
A 5 lane road with a 25 mph speed limit? Traffic engineering at its finest. If you want to slow traffic down, traffic calming measures such as raised intersections, a reduction in the number and size of lanes, and speed bumps works best. The City is simply trying to make money off a poor design.
Good luck. Fremont tried that for 2 years. Their courthouse was filled with ticket cases. It costs the city more than the ticket fees.
An officer HAS to issue the ticket and YOU HAVE to sign it. Thats the ONLY VALID ticket. Red light tickets are a total SHAM.
You HAVE to be able to face your accuser in court as well. Can't bring the camera in court though.
@@heyaisdabombThe court also ruled that since a machine cannot make a statement, evidence of running a red light is not considered hearsay. Until someone wins a case in a higher court overturning the California law on red light camera tickets, the red light traffic tickets generated by cameras in California will still be legal.
@@MimiVerbana Cannot do anything when a yellow light comes quick and you don't have time to slow down and brake hard because some dude is tailgating your rear bumper and you have to downshift and mash the throttle to beat the light in order to avoid the red light camera ticket.
Re read new civil laws. They are a civil fine not a criminal summons.
@@middleguy1776it’s a civil fine not a criminal summons
You would think that considering they're saying people are going more than 10 mph over the posted speed, that there actually would be a posted speed, hint: there isn't. Harrison is 5 lanes 1 way, the closest thing you would have to slow down a tiny little yellow sign on the right side that says "school", so if you're on the left you're not seeing it. The school itself is set back quite a bit from the sidewalk next to a 2 story building, so you won't see the school until you are right on top of it. And the closest place with a "posted speed" is at the start of 3rd street way back.
The worst part no one is talking about is this law requires the speed limits to be lowered by 5 mph anyplace a camera is put, so that will now become a 20mph... This whole "oh, well you have to be going 10 over. Well mark it down so you can mark it up, it's like a discount store that claims an item is worth $50, but we are discounting it to only $25.. While they never intended to sell it for more than $25. This is how most discounts work in buisness, and now they are applying this concept to speed cameras, and most aren't smart enough to get it.
That's interesting, but maybe they'll address that too
Pretty excited about the camera....no we're not...
Walk sf's stated goal is to ban cars in the city of San Francisco. Anyone with half a brain can see how they are just trying to make driving so hard and expensive, that people stop driving.
City decided to do their own smash and grab … without the smash. The company responsible for operating the camera gets a fat cut of the money. If you think there’s no back door kickbacks to the politicians then you are naive.
Liberal cities be like:
If we follow the speed limits, the city will not get any money!!! That will show 'em!
There are absolutely NO speed signs in that section so people just go whatever speed, usually 40. I just want you to check this video once more and see if there are any signs at all for speed limits.
Or you can contact traffic division online and request they install another sign.
@@MimiVerbana It will probably take them 20 years to install another sign.
@@MimiVerbana If only the world worked perfectly and we lived in a perfect society.
What if your car was stolen and it received a speeding ticket?
How about video taping the side shows
You could also Arrest people- haven’t seen that in years 😮
Too dangerous & risky
The excessive speeding needs to stop.
on an unrelated note, there seems to be a run on spray paint.
So drive the speed limit. It's not difficult to follow the law.
Traffic cameras are not always accurate, especially the cameras already installed in SF, TRUST ME I know I went to traffic court and THEY HAD TO SHOW ME, and the camera was WRONG!!
You need Cameras that Ticket for Texting wile driving- than you will rack TRILLIONS 😮
They could make phone tech work of the gyroscope sensor where your phone won't work except for emergency phone calls
The homeless people thank you for your money, you see they need more money for the homeless complex and sending you tickets helps a lot
The city is broke theu need money
try catching no plates or covered plates or a fake try that
Big brother always watching 👁️
Is there a camera that can identify retail theft, car break-ins and public shitting then automatically contact the police?
so they will send you speeding tickets but block a bridge for hours and no charges
Will city vehicles, police vehicles (not responding to a call), and muni vehicles get tickets? When city officials get ticketed on their personal vehicles, will there be someone canceling their tickets?
Cameras can see speeding and give you a ticket, but can’t see people stealing cars, breaking into cars, people selling and doing drugs, and people stealing stores. 😂 😆 What a joke!
Its been happening in Chicago.
Just another reason to never visit SF again.
So the camera is to catch car speeder. So the city could generate profit.
Will that camera also catch car breaking
Will that also generate profit?
While that's good and all what if there's an emergency and an ambulance or police vehicle speed through the highway to get there, will they automatically get ticketed too? I believe they try something like this in NYC or Atlanta and the people (casuals, cops, ambulances, firefighters, etc.) who embrace the cameras there were the same people complaining about the auto ticketing. If you embrace it, don't be surprise if it comes back to bite you.
I can understand why people complain about paying the money and I agree to an extent, but this idea is much better than other things that get passed in this city and it could actually bear some fruit. I say it is worth it if it offers us a way to get these dangerous drivers to slow down (or get them off the road altogether). SF would be a much safer place if people didn’t drive so recklessly. And on that note, I say if you can’t pay the fine, don’t do the crime!
This is YT. Nuance like yours are few and far between.
I live in SF but have a brother in Alameda. Alameda's speed limits are much more stringently enforced Having gotten a ticket over in Alameda, my rule now when I get over there is to "do not go higher than second gear". Ticketing works, on me at least. . . . They also have those "Your speed is" automated signs. Maybe a combination of the two?
sf decisive as ever and kpix not helping
It starts with safety as the goal but very quickly becomes revenue generation.
I feel bad for the people whose cars are stolen.
NOE valley church and 26th 4 stop sign but 90% people don't stop especially between 4-7pm ty seat there for like 30 min or try to cross it driver blame on you for slow walk instead of being sorry
So mta is trying to make up for fare evasion by taxing drivers
Muni needs money
Just inspect the law
sf & their timing, as usual, is terrible. Do you think off duty or city officials will have to pay?
Right.
Does anybody in SF think? Everybody is going to know the location of the camera so they slow down on the block with the camera and speed everywhere else. SO everybody living near the camera get ready for brake noise and acceleration from engine noise.
That’s exactly how it was in Barcelona. They had these there too
Lies SF citizens not excited fines city need more money
Will be sent to stolen license plates
Haha this whole video was in front of my work on 4th and Harrison. I guess I’ll have to pay more attention to my speed when I’m arriving to work! 😬
I said before that cameras address the symptoms but not the underlying problem. You want safe streets you will need to redesign the street so it feels better to drive slower. Look at Hoboken, New Jersey. Meanwhile New York thinks they can ticket the problem away to solve it, but no. These speed cameras are only designed so camera companies can make more money. A camera that does not actually reduce speeding is going to be more politically popular.
Smash and grab or smash and grab nothing remains lowest priority for the city.
This isn’t the ‘90’s premiere world destination tourist attraction we knew.
Orwell
they want your money
15K that is LUDICROUS
It’s all about money. It will stop peoples come to San Francisco. Stupid idea from a group of useless politicians
It’s all about power, control and tax dollars.
Yes
Do poor people have to pay?
This is huge pile of BS. Desperate effort to generate more revenue is the major driving force with this effort. As someone who lives in the city, If the city is genuinely interested in keeping people safe they would address the open drug use, homelessness, and high rate of crime (theft & burglery) issues in the city.
Tickets for tents! Someone get a campaign going and you have a chance in SF
Targeting streets with chronic speeding. I.E. speed traps on streets that should have higher speed limits or are poorly marked or both.
Avoid San Francisco at all cost. Do not visit here, shop here or do business here.
mr. mitch washington hit the nail on the head
show me the $$$$$
Move school 🏫
They're increasing the density of 5G devices to increase our DEATH RATE. Speed cameras 'for public safety' while the camera itself emits deadly pulsed microwaves that are degrading your heart, your brain and your entire body. IT'S FOR PUBLIC SAFETY! That gets the voters' approval every time. IT'S FOR NATIONAL SECURITY! That gets voters' approval, too. IT'S FOR SAVING THE EARTH! Again, the voters will approve, no matter how stupid and evil it is. After all, the voters' brains have been dimmed by the 5G microwaves and they can't really think.
SF is in a doom loop, so it's best to set up auto revenue generation from those who choose to remain. Because that's what auto tickets are, just money-making schemes.
stop stealing our money
As an SF citizen, what it the problem with this? It frees up the cops to do actual important work. It catches the entitled cavernous Jack-holes that are always speeding. And there is a school there. It does not solve all of SFs problems, but seems like a good start.
Except it’s not just the cavernous jack holes speeding excessively that are caught. It’ll likely be every day citizens who didn’t realize and now will be struggling to pay these off in this already incredibly expensive city
@@nhanon67as : Ya, I am still going with it will be by far the majority of the Cavernous Jack-Holes. . . . I am looking at you Tesla, Range Rover, and BMW drivers. . . .
@@oftenlucid delusional
@@oftenlucid you’re acting like the people who drive those cars are going to flinch at a $100 speeding ticket. Those aren’t going to affect their lives.
Dystopian Police State much? 😂
Another way to drive people out of the city
the cyclist dont care neither do the people who walk. a big push from these voters against cars in general. they are the ones behind this.
For all the "why don't they put effort into stopping crime or helping the homeless." When did speeding become not a crime? It's not a punishment if you are not breaking the law. This is money fighting crime. Hit and run deaths are a problem in this area, another crime. Which could honestly impact homeless populations more, considering they are the ones out and about on roadways more often than not.
Just go the speed limit.
The problem is speed limits used to be based on the 80 percentile rule, but they are now artificially slow. Fulton used to be a 40 mph a few years ago, it's now a 30 mph and under this new law, they will lower the speed limit to 25 mph. That's a 4 lane highway at 25 mph, it's absurdly slow and unnatural.
It depends on a lot more than just how big the road is that determines speed. I'm not completely disagreeing with you because I know there are roads that need to have the speed limit updated. However, the speed limit, no matter what, is still the law, be it unfair or not. There are a lot of drivers out there who need to be ticketed for speeding. And in high foot traffic areas, there should definitely be these; it's 10 miles over and you get a ticket, it's not that outrageous. Especially with the number of lives lost to hit and runs, four this year alone in San Francisco.
I think the reason people say “why don’t they put effort into stopping crime or the homeless” is because driving a bit over the speed limit seems pretty low on the priority list of illegal activities in San Francisco. How about we prioritize stopping real crime instead!?
SF is densely populated and very busy...expect to drive slow.
The city should mandate that the max speed limit is 5mph or ban all cars, before it's too late.
I got My tricks up my selves not forking out my money
Another reason to never visit SF. Elections have consequences so enjoy what you voted for SF 😂😂😂.
This area is so ghetto
Explain again why you ever drive into that city?
